What I hoped was to get IsFaulted == true in the appealing code and to fire the end event with the canceled flags and the correct exception. But what I get is an unhandled exception on the line response.Result.GetResponseStream().WriteAllBytesAsync(filePath, ct, resumeDownload, progressAction).Wait(ct); telling me that I don't catch an AggregateException. • How to keep an old VB6 application running in Windows Vista and Windows 7?

  I have an old VB6 app which I'm still trying to support. A few users have reported weird crashes when running the app in Vista or Windows 7. The log files don't show anything after one of these crashes, but the customers report that the error message said "OLE something ...", if they saw anything at all. I've never been able to reproduce these crashes while running the program on my own Vista or Windows 7 boxes, so I have essentially no information on what the problem is. My suspicion is that it's a problem with their versions of one or more of the umpteen billion DLLs that a VB6 application is dependent on. The app also uses lame_enc.dll, which introduces a few more dependencies. I'm guessing this is a common problem with VB6 apps (although it's possible that I just sucked as a programmer 10 years ago). Is there some magical installer/updater out there that makes sure all the VB6 dependencies are what they need to be for a VB6 app to function properly?

• Looking for SQL Server Performance Monitor Tools

  I may be approaching this problem from the wrong angle but what I'm thinking of is some kind of performance monitor tool for SQl server that works in a similar way to code performance tools, e.g. I;d like to see an output of how many times each stored procedure was called, average executuion time and possibly various resource usage stats such as cache/index utilisation, resultign disk access and table scans, etc. As far as I can tell the performance monitor that comes with SQL Server just logs the various calls but doesn't report he variosu stats I'm looking for. Potentially I just need a tool to analyze the log output?

• PostgreSQL server not showing up in phpPgAdmin

  I have installed both phpPgAdmin and pgAdmin III on my Ubuntu 9.10 dev box. I created a server using pgAdmin III, and then added a database and populated it. I then navigated to phpPgAdmin, expecting to be able to see the server and be able to log on to the server using the postgres account. However, the only server shown 'PostgreSQL' (and it had a red cross icon). When I attempted to login using the postgres account, the following message was displayed: Login disallowed for security reasons. I have the following questions: Where is the server and database I created (they are still visible when I use pgAdmin III) How may I add another user to the server and give it access to a database?

• Why is Magento 1.4 including javascript files by filesystem path?

  I am in the process of testing a Magento 1.3 site using Magento 1.4. I am seeing very weird and inconsistent behavior. Instead of including the URL of my javascript files, Magento is creating tags with the full filesystem path of the js files, as so: <script type="text/javascript" src="/home/my_username/public_html/js/prototype/prototype.js"></script> I believe this is related to the new "Themes JavaScript and CSS files combined to one file" function. In fact, when I log into the admin and click "Flush JavaScript/CSS Cache", then the first page load is successful, and I see a single JS include similar to: <script type="text/javascript" src="/media/js/5b8cfac152fcb2a5f93ef9571d338c54.js"></script> But subsequent age loads load every single JS file, with the full path names. Which obviously isn't going to work. Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong or how to fix this issue?

• Too many open files error in Glassfish3 while using https listener

  I have a problem running webservice that requires https connection(Glassfish3). After running for a while, it eventually crashes. Log file show "Failed to load keystore type JKS with path ....config/keystore.jks due to ...config/keystore.jks (Too many open files)". lsof shows that a number of open files are constantly increasing (among others, I noticed that there are many files with type 'sock' and undefined protocol that never get closed). I tried changing the limit of open files, but it resulted in a longer time before crashing... I blamed the webservice, but everything works fine if the application doesn't require confidential protocol. Did I miss anything in http listener configuration ? Or it is rather an application error? When the order goes completes whmcs sends out only four emails to the new customer: "Order Confirmation", "Customer Invoice", "Invoice Payment Confirmation" and "Welcome". It does not send out a "New Account Information" email, which should contain the login details for cpanel. I can successfully log into the client area but not cPanel. I checked the account from my administrator area and I see where it says active and paid also. I have tried several times to setup a test account to see if it would send the email with the cpanel login but it never sends it, though it sends all others. Reply With Quote

• How to measure sum of collected memory of Young Generation?

  Hi, I'd like to measure memory allocation data from my java application, i.e. the sum of the size of all objects that were allocated. Since object allocation is done in young generation this seems to be the right place. I know jconsole and I know the JMX beans but I just can't find the right variable... Right at the moment we are parsing the gc log output file but that's quite hard. Ideally we'd like to measure it via JMX... How can I get this value? Thanks, Marcel

• merge sort recursion tree height

  Hello! I am learning about recursion tree's and trying to figure out how the height of the tree is log b of n where n = 2 and one has 10 elements as input size. I am working with Merge sort. The number of times the split is done is the height of the tree as far as I understood, and the number of levels in the tree is height + 1. But if you take (for merge sort) log2 of 10 you get 1, where if you draw the tree you get at least 2 times that the recursion occurs. Where have I gone wrong? (I hope I am making sense here) NOTE: I am doing a self study, this is not homework!

  Hi, I've seen this error with different variations on discussion forums but being a non programmer I'm not sure how to progress this. Basically I have code which I found to help me with changing the background colors of cells on a grouped uitableview. The code introduced a line as such: CGContextAddArcToPoint(c, minx, miny, midx, miny, ROUND_SIZE); This gave an error indicated that it wasn't declared, so I added to my .h file the following under import uikit: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #define ROUND_SIZE 10 Now it shows that I have an error: Command/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 failed with exit code 1 iphone Some discussions talk about libraries but because I don't have a programming background I don't understand what to do. I also see that some people show a log output but I'm not sure where that comes from as I don't get any debug windows because I'm guessing it doesn't get that far. I simply click 'Build and Go' and I get this error in the Message window. Any thoughts?

I made the follow export : expdp system/password directory=dpump_dir dumpfile=tablesdump.dmp content=DATA_ONLY tables=user.tablename and it works, I can see the file TABLESDUMP.DMP in the directory path. then when I tried to import it to a sql file: impdp system/password directory=dpump_dir dumpfile=tablesdump.dmp sqlfile=tables_export.sql the log show : ..... ORA-31655 no data or metadata objects selected for job ..... and the sql file is created empty in the directory path. I'm not DBA, I'm a Java developer , Can you help me? Thks

• Django: test failing on a view with @login_required

  Hi all, I'm trying to build a test for a view that's decorated with @login_required, since I failed to make it work, I did a simple test and still can't make it pass. The test fails in the response.status_code, returning 302 and the response instance is of a HttpResponseRedirect, is redirecting it as if not logged in. Any clue? I'm missing something? • Weird Facebooker Plugin & Pushion Passenger ModRails Production Error

  I have an application (Rails 2.3.5) that I'm deploying to production Linux/Apache server using the latest Phushion Passenger/Apache Module 2.2.11 version. After deploying my original application, it returns a 500 error with no logging to production log. So I created a minimal test rails application, with some active record calls to the database to print out a list of objects to the home controller/my index page. I also cleared out all plugins. That works fine in the production environment. Then I one by one introduced each plugin that I'm using one at a time. Every plugin works fine EXCEPT facebooker. Every time I load the facebooker plugin into my app/vendor/plugins directory (via script git etc) my test application break (500 error - no error logging). Everytime I remove the facebooker plugin my test application works. Has anyone seen this before/ have any solutions? I saw this solution but didn't see it in the facebooker code.

  If i have file for eg: a log file created by any background process on unix, how do i view the data that getting updated each and every time. i know that i can use tail command to see the file.but let's say i have used tail -10 file.txt it will give the last 10 lines.but if lets say at one time 10 lines got added and at the next instance it has been added 2 lines. now from the tail command i can see previous 8 lines also.i don't want this.i want only those two lines which were added. In short i want to view only those lines which were appended.how can i do this?
