    I've got a database with collation Danish_Norwegian_CS_AS and lots of varchar columns. I'd like to convert all this data to unicode, but haven't found a way to convert this data yet. If I've understood correctly, the encoding used is UCS-2 little endian. For example I've got a column containing 'PÃ¥l-Trygve' which is easily converted with C# to 'Pål-Trygve' using Encoding.Default.GetString(Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes("PÃ¥l-Trygve")); Is there a way to do this conversion in the microsoft SQL client?

  • Ctrl-M chars when transfer files SFTP

    Hi, I am sending files from a windows system to a Unix SFTP server using JSCAPE ftp client. However, I am experiencing the following issue: When uploading a text file from windows to UNiX, each line of text files transferred contains Control-M characters. I did some search and found out that If I use the "ASCII" transfer mode it should solve the issue. But the Ctrl-M is still appearing on the files. Can anyone throw some light in this issue? thanks in advance

I don't recognize this, could not find anything on it, and their tech guy is Nick Burns so he refuses to give me any dirtection. Is there a standard return code for AS/400?     I have a simple query that does select * from t limit 1; on a remote mysql server. I use squirrel(mysql client) to run it, it shows: Query 1 of 1 elapsed time (seconds) - Total: 22.047, SQL query: 1.047, Building output: 21 why does building output take such a long time? what does this process do? when running from mysql command line, the whole process takes 0.3 secs (also remotely)

    I have a desktop application (C# .NET 3.5) that uses a SQL server for it's database. I have had a request from the client, however, to make it possible to export the database as it stands, and be able to use it on a laptop without connectivity. They understand that updates to the parent server will not be reflected in these offline clients. Is there a way I can just save the DataSet's to a binary form and write them to a disk and send those files to the offline clients.

    Hello. Having single AMQ broker and 100 consumers connected. I would send the message to some specific consumer, so other consumers does not receive it (client-side filtering won't work). Simplest way is to create virtual destinations (name them queue:consumer-) for example and send messages there. However this will lead to 100 new queues which makes it more complex to monitor. Is there any other way to do this having single queue?

    Hi, I need to validate a date in a web forms application. For this I use a CompareValidator with Operator="DataTypeCheck" Type="Date" The problem is that this Validator doesn't work properly on Firefox with 2 digit years. ( javascript error: m[2] is undefined) With a 4 digits year it's working properly.
