• Problem loading a contents URL into a string

  I've been using this method for a few weeks now as suggested on my previous question and the app now keeps crashing with a Protocol 443 error - something about unable to resolve the address. Worked fine when first installed and then just stopped. The same with on the device itself, worked fine until this morning and now the same issue?? Nothing wrong with the URL as I can still load in a browser. If I leave it for a couple of days it starts working again?? Is there a more effecient way of using the Http POST and GET functions? All I am trying to do is perform a login and save the resulting page to a string. Is there a more Android friendly way?

We need a tool which provides a repository for our peripheral products (functions, classes, libraries, ...) which is created during software development process for later use. The tool should provide some functionalities (e.g Name of the component, it's functionality, withing which projects it is used?, author, publication date, list of known bugs, user rating, comment, ...) and it's better to have a web-based interface.   How do I change the IP settings of a Windows CE 6 box Programatically via C++? Functions for Windows might also work. I found that I can change the hostname via sethostname but couldn't find how to change IP address settings such as: IP Address DHCP Subnet Gateway DNS1 / DNS2 WINS1 / WINS2 Any advice / pointers would be great. Thanks. P.s. How would you get the box to update to those settings - is a refresh or the programming equivalent of ipconfig /renew required?

• Stopwatch vs. using System.DateTime.Now for timing events

  I wanted to track the performance of a piece of my application so I initially stored the start time using System.DateTime.Now and the end time also using System.DateTime.Now. The difference between the two was how long my code took to execute. I noticed though that the difference didn't appear to be accurate. So I tried using a Stopwatch object. This turned out to be much, much more accurate. Can anyone tell me why Stopwatch would be more accurate than calculating the difference between a start and end time using System.DateTime.Now?   In MS Access 2003 I have a form whose record source is equal to a query that involves an INNER JOIN. The join is between a location table and a container table. Containers are objects that are stored in specific locations each location and container are specified by ID values. SELECT DISTINCTROW Container.Container_ID, Location.Location_ID FROM Location INNER JOIN Container ON Location.[Location_ID] = Container.[Location_ID] What I am trying to figure out is this …. When I delete a record (using the form navigation controls) in the form based on the above query which tables are affected? Are records in the Container and Location tables deleted or is it just in the location table? Thanks!

  Is there a list of reserved memory addresses out there - a list of addresses that the memory of a user-space program could never be allocated to? I realize this is most likely per-OS or per-architecture, but I was hoping someone might know some of the more common OSes and Arches. I could only dig one up for a few versions of windows: for windows NT,2k and XP that would be: 0x00000000 - 0x0000ffff - lowest page is protected to simplify debugging 0x00001000 - 0x7ffeffff - memory area for your application 0x7fff0000 - 0x7fffffff - protected area to keep memory-functions from damaging the following part 0x80000000 - 0xffffffff - memory where the system including drivers and so on is located Anyone know about for Linux, or BSD (or anything else, for that matter)?

• Where should I store my App specific config files in WPF

  Background : I have some Application Data. i.e. the Database, come important config files. This data is vital for the application to start else it is exited. Problem : Where should I store this data. i.e in which folder and where. Right Now (This is wrong) it is stored in a folder in Debug/App_Data. But is causing issues in git and when we publish the App the data is not found. So where can we store this folder ? Present Structure is "WpfApplication2\WpfApplication2\bin\Debug" These Files need to be present when the app is started. So they need to be a part of the app itself.

• Drupal, template.php where do the $form names come from ?

  hi, I want to customize my Drupal back-end forms. I'm using template.php file.. i.e. $form['menu']['#collapsed'] = true; $form['author']['#collapsed'] = true; $form['buttons']['#weight'] = 100; But I was wondering from where the section names (menu, author, buttons), come from. (They are not id or classes in html code, so I guess there is an index with all names stored somewhere. Where can I get the complete list of section names ? Furthermore, I've added a taxonomy-super-select-checkboxes section by installing the module. How can I refer to this section, to make the field not collapsed. thanks

  Hi. I am using a CTL file to load data stored in a file to a specific table in my Oracle database. Currently, I launch the loader file using the following command line: sqlldr user/pwd@db data=my_data_file control=my_loader.ctl I would like to know if it is possible to use specify parameters to be retrieved in the CTL file. Also, is it possible to retrieve the name of the data file used by the CTL to fill the table ?I also would like to insert it for each row. I currently have to call a procedure to update previously inserted records. Any help would be appreciated !

  Hi I have 2 models in my django code: class ModelA(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=255) description = models.CharField(max_length=255) created_by = models.ForeignKey(User) class ModelB(models.Model): category = models.CharField(max_length=255) modela_link = models.ForeignKey(ModelA, 'modelb_link') functions = models.CharField(max_length=255) created_by = models.ForeignKey(User) Say ModelA has 100 records, all of which may or may not have links to ModelB Now say I want to get a list of every ModelA record along with the data from ModelB I would do: list_a = ModelA.objects.all() Then to get the data for ModelB I would have to do for i in list_a: i.additional_data = i.modelb_link.all() However this runs a query on every instance of i. Thus making 101 queries to run. Is there any way of running this all in just 1 query. Or at least less than the 101 queries. I've tried putting in ModelA.objects.select_related().all() but this didn't seem to have any effect. Thanks

  Im doing some jquery stuff with toggle(), I'm doing different actions depending on if the current div is closing or showing, i know i can easy check if a div hasClass() or is(':visible') for what i want to do, but I'm thinking maybe there is somehow that i can reduce the amount of code or just do it more efficient? like declare the toggle() with two functions that this is for when its showing and this is for when its closing, is this possible? hope you get what i mean? like this, or check a jsfiddle $('#click_me').on('click', function() { $('#contain').toogle('blind', 300, function (){ alert('open'); }, function (){ alert('close'); }); });

  Hi, I am trying to find out the maximum value for an integer (signed or unsigned) from a MySQL database. Is there a way to pull back this information from the database itself? Are there any built-in constants or functions I can use (either standard SQL or MySQL specific). At http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/numeric-types.html it lists the values - but is there a way for the database to tell me.   Im looking for navigation software for the Android platform and I have a few requirements: Offline maps. The maps should be stored on the device/memory card so no Internet-connection is required There should be some way to interact with the application "through code"; sending route requests, getting current location perhaps, bringing app to foreground/background, etc. An API so it can be controlled from another application. No monthly fees The only one I found so far to match the above is Sygic Navigation. However, I havent yet been able to communication with the app even though they say that it can be done. • Does sending mails with mail() hide the recipieints address

  I am trying to build a email messaging system for a classified site ( a la craigslist), so that users can email each other. emails of registered users are stored in a database. What I want is for the recipients email address to be hidden from the sender's . If I just use the mail() function and dynamically get the recipients email from the database, will this email be visible to the person sending the mail ?? if the recipients email is indeed hidden from the sender's when using mail() this way, then why does craigslist anonymize's email ? isn't it already anonymous ? Edit: so the email won't be visible to the person filling the form. SO the question remains is why does craigslist anonymizes email addresses? and whether I should implement the same ?

• Loading jQuery gallery after the Ajax call

  I am trying to put a jQuery gallery after the Ajax call. On my main site, I create a div which wrap the main content (e.g site_content). When users click on one of the hyperlink on the main page, the "site_content" will get updated and display other content which is saved at other HTML file and I am using AJAX to avoid the whole page refresh. However I having a problem of running the JavaScript/jQuery gallery because the JavaScript won't work after the AJAX call. I understand that because the browser does not know there will be some functions to call after the content (from the other HTML file) is successfully displayed. I tried to use the jQuery getScript method but it is still not working. Could anyone give me some ideas how can I run the javaScript/jQuery gallery after the AJAX call? Thanks

• Possible to exclude or reorder a column from `*` ?

  Is it possible to exclude a column from a select * from table statement with SQL Server? I have a need for this and this is my only option other than parsing a raw SQL string to get out the required field names (I really don't want to do that). Just to be bold. When the query is made I do not have access to the list of fields needed from the table but I do know which field I do not need. This is part of a complex multi-part query. Surely there must be some way even if it's "hackish" such as using table variables or views My other option is to reorder the columns. My problem is with ExecuteScalar SQL functions which get the first row and first column.

• Python - Is it possible to get the name of the chained function?

  I'm working on a class that basically allows for method chaining, for setting some attrbutes for different dictionaries stored. The syntax is as follows: d = Test() d.connect().setAttrbutes(Message=Blah, Circle=True, Key=True) But there can also be other instances, so, for example: d = Test() d.initialise().setAttrbutes(Message=Blah) Now I believe that I can overwrite the "setattrbutes" function; I just don't want to create a function for each of the dictionary. Instead I want to capture the name of the previous chained function. So in the example above I would then be given "connect" and "initialise" so I know which dictionary to store these inside. I hope this makes sense. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

  I have an array of objects that looks like this: [{ name: 'test', size: 0, type: 'directory', path: '/storage/test' }, { name: 'asdf', size: 170, type: 'directory', path: '/storage/test/asdf' }, { name: '2.txt', size: 0, type: 'file', path: '/storage/test/asdf/2.txt' }] There could be any number of arbitrary path's, this is the result of iterating through files and folders within a directory. What I'm trying to do is determine the 'root' node of these. Ultimately, this will be stored in mongodb and use materialized path to determine it's relationships. In this example, /storage/test is a root with no parent. /storage/test/asdf has the parent of /storage/test which is the parent to /storage/test/asdf/2.txt. My question is, how would you go about iterating through this array, to determine the parent's and associated children? Any help in the right direction would be great! Thank you

Now here I am managing load through LVS(Load balancer). so as a example shown in image, suppose 200 clients will wish to login for broadcast they will be distributed as 100 users on server 1 and another 100 users on server 2.clients will get connected to servers using TCP connection. Now I am maintaining user information on server side in arraylist which will be stored in heap memory,Now the problem is if client wish to broadcast to all logged in users, but that particular client is logged in server 1. and so client will not be able to broadcast another 100 users from server 2. Because both ther servers are unaware about each others state. please suggest to solve this scenario by whatever means you want.

  I want to arrange plots with grid.arrange to make more complex coplots and then use grid.arrange to combine these complex coplots. I am using the following solution (http://stackoverflow.com/a/13295880/1000343) in this task to arrange mutliple plots and ensure they have equal widths.
