  I need to scp and then ssh to the same host. Is it possible to authenticate just one time? Is it possible to input password once, then scp file, then ssh on that host and work interactively? Update I get HOSTNAME and SSH_PASSWORD. I never log in on that machine before. I need to send some files (probably using scp) and then log in using ssh and work on that HOST interactively. I want to save time and input password just once. I have lots of such hosts...

  I put a wpf textbox inside a combobox to allow the user to enter a custom setting. I can read the keypress in the keydown event, but the text in the textbox does not change. • Singleton pattern with Web application, Not a good idea!!

  Hi I found something funny, I notice it by luck while I was debugging other thing. I was applying MCP pattern and I made a singleton controller to be shared among all presentations. Suddenly I figured out that some event is called once at first postback, twice if there is two postback, 100 times if there is 100 postbacks. because Singleton is based on a static variable which hold the instance, and the static variable live across postbacks, and I wired the event assuming that it will be wired once, and rewired for each postback. I think we should think twice before applying a singleton in a web application, or I miss something?? thanks

I don't understand this. It also doesn't let me use any other attributes like data[0].addresse, which returns undefined aswell. Thanks for help.

  Hello Friends, I am writing one simple web page with bunch of textboxes and a button control. Now when user finished editing the values on this text boxes user has to click the button and this button invoke heavily process intensive algorithm on server side code based on the data received from client (Textboxes) And it could some time takes up to 30 to 45 minutes to complete the whole operation so the current thread is still inside the button click event handler function. That background task only provides one event, and the web page subscribes to it to get some text data after each stage of processing I was wandering if there is any way I can keep user up-to-date with what is the current progress on that background task. I have div element to print the current status information So I am looking for some sort of reverse mechanism then "get" and "post". I have read some articles on the Comet (programming) but I can't find any easy or definitive answer Thanks in advance

• Switching back into the middle of a function in Actionscript

  I need to return to my original function after capturing an event (downloading something) with another function. The original function needs to return a value, which depends on the downloaded data. So, I'd like to pause original function for the time needed for the download and the eventhandler function to complete it's work, and resume it afterwards. The obvious way is to set a flag value (both the original function and the eventhandler are within the same class) and make the original function check it until the eventhandler function changes the flag. But that would be wasteful, and my AS is slow enough already:) [other parts of the application utilise some heavy graphics]. Is there another way? Like an event that gets captured "in the middle" of the function? Or some other form of flow control?

  Hi, i have a web user control containing a repeater. The repeater contains three buttons. On button click it gives the following error : Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" % in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. Since user control does not have page directive, so i changed the enableEventValidation to false, but it restricted the itemcommand event of the repeater. Can someone guide me, how to solve this problem?

• Getting information about where c++ exceptions are thrown inside of catch block?

  I've got a c++ app that wraps large parts of code in try blocks. When I catch exceptions I can return the user to a stable state, which is nice. But I'm not longer receiving crash dumps. I'd really like to figure out where in the code the exception is taking place, so I can log it and fix it. Being able to get a dump without halting the application would be ideal, but I'm not sure that's possible. Is there some way I can figure out where the exception was thrown from within the catch block? If it's useful, I'm using native msvc++ on windows xp and higher. My plan is to simply log the crashes to a file on the various users' machines, and then upload the crashlogs once they get to a certain size.

  I have an application on a pen drive, which executes some flash files on the same USB flash drive. when i run the application with in the drive, the application just keeps running in the back ground without running the flash files. When i copy the application on desktop, it runs the flash files in the USB. Also i programmed the app to write log file, when i run the application with in USB, the app is running but the log file is not getting written, when i remove the pen drive, the file gets written. What might be the problem, I am using VC++ , VS 2008 to build the application.

  I would like to create a location-aware application on WP7.5 Is it possible to automatically get a trigger on location change without our application running on background? For example: I would like to know if a user has moved in a new location. If the user has moved I would like to trigger a specific event from my application. My only concern is that if I do that from my application I will consume a significant amount of battery. Is it a specific WP7 service which can inform my application that the user has changed his location and trigger an event from my application? If it is possible can you please point me an example?

  Hi. I subscribe to usb inserted event like this select * FROM __INSTANCECREATIONEVENT WITHIN 3 WHERE TARGETINSTANCE ISA Win32_DiskDrive After inserting usb flash it blinks every 3 seconds. This is polling interval and intrinsic events work by polling object that's in query. Now, we know these types of events may be resource expensive. (Putting value greater then 3 sometimes chokes these events and client program doesn't get notified). Are there other ways to do that, so that usb doesn't get scanned all the time? May be there some extrinsic events available? Right now the only solution I see is to unsubscribe from event above once it trigerred and resubscribe to it in __INSTANCEDELETIONEVENT handler.   hi, I've some objects on the canvas, and I added eventListeners to these objects for MOUSE_UP event. I'm know checking if it works by tracing e.target.name, and I found out that the event is triggered twice, before on the element container (Canvas) and then the element itself.   How can i see how many number of connections are opened in one request. (mysql_connect) I know that if i call mysql_connect function 100 times, function will return the connection link which is already opened only if parameters of the function is same. It will not request for new connection if connection is already exists. But i just want to make sure mysql_connect is not requesting new. I am working with a legacy system which contains so many "mysql_connect" function. Is there any setting in apache or is there any way i can log this number of connection value in apache or mysql log file? Please help.

And I have written the click event in the external, common js file. But I wonder how the js file should be? Currently I have written like this. $(document).ready(function() { $(".chk").click(function() { alert("hi"); }); }); But whenever I click a checkbox the click event is fired twice. it should be once. In the success() function though console.log (globalTitle); constantly gives me "a". It's like the variable is assigned but is then cached every time success() is called. Happens in FF 4 and Chrome 8. Any thoughts?

• Improving performance for WRITE operation on Oracle DB in Java

  I've a typical scenario & need to understand best possible way to handle this, so here it goes - I'm developing a solution that will retrieve data from a remote SOAP based web service & will then push this data to an Oracle database on network. Also, this will be a scheduled task that will execute every 15 minutes. I've event queues on remote service that contains the INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE operations that have been done since last retrieval, & once I retrieve the events for last 15 minutes, it again add events for next retrieval. Now, its just pushing data to Oracle so all my interactions are INSERT & UPDATE statements. There are around 60 tables on Oracle with some of them having 100+ columns. Moreover, for every 15 minutes cycle there would be around 60-70 Inserts, 100+ Updates & 10-20 Deletes. This will be an executable jar file that will terminate after operation & will again start on next 15 minutes cycle. So, I need to understand how should I handle WRITE operations (best practices) to improve performance for this application as whole ? Current Test Code (on every cycle) - Connects to remote service to get events. Creates a connection with DB (single connection object). Identifies the type of operation (INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE) & table on which it is done. After above, calls the respective method based on type of operation & table. Uses Preparedstatement with positional parameters, & retrieves each column value from remote service & assigns that to statement parameters. Commits the statement & returns to get event class to process next event. Above is repeated till all the retrieved events are processed after which program closes & then starts on next cycle & everything repeats again. Thanks for help !
