How do you solve this Haskell problem using a fold map and take?

Define a function replicate which given a list of numbers returns a list with each number duplicated its value. Use a fold, map, and take .. replicate [5,1,3,2,8,1,2] output: [5,5,5,5,5,1,3,3,3,2,2,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,1,2,2] I've figure this out using List comprehension and recursion: replicate2 [] = [] replicate2 (n:nn) = take n(repeat n) ++ replicate2 nn but how would you use fold and map to do this? so far I have: replicate n = map (foldl1 (take n(repeat n)) n) n which is obviously wrong, but I think I am close.. so any help would be nice, THANKS!

asp.net custom templated datalist - throws argument out of range (index) on button press

I have a class BaseTemplate public abstract class BaseTemplate : ITemplate This adds the controls, and provides abstract methods to implement in the inheriting class. The inheriting class then adds its html according to its data source and manages the data binding. this all works fine - I get the control appearing with properly parsed html. the problem is that the base class adds controls into the template that have their own CommandName arguments ... the idea is that the class that implements the custom templated dataList will provide the logic of setting the Selected and Edit Indexes. This class also manages the data binding etc. It sets all of the templates ont he datalist in the Init method (which was another cause of this exception). the exception gets throw when i hit one of these buttons .. but after the ItemCommand event is being processed. The stack trace does not include any references to my methods or objects which is why i am so stuck. I understand how to make a dropdown list. I understand how to make conditional formatting change the color of a cell. What I do not understand is how to make conditional formatting change the color of a cell based solely on the state of another cell (not a comparison). A1 is a No / Yes dropdown list B1 is a criteria statement If the user satisfies the criteria statement in B1, they select Yes on the dropdown list in A1. For quick reference, if possible, I'd like B1 to change to a green background color on this event... and of course change back to no-fill if the dropdown is reset to No. Is this possible in Excel 2003 and/or 2007?

I have the following HTML. <ul> <li> <a>asdas</a> </li> </ul> In my CSS stylesheet I have general settings for the a tag, and several hundered lines later settings for ul li a. Like this: a:link { color: red; } ... ul li a { color:blue; } Firebug tells me, that first the color:blue is loaded, and afterwards overriden by color:red So far I've always thought, that the order of loading css files and the order of style inside a single css file tell the browser how html elements should be formatted. Unfortunately I'm now experiencing it vice versa. So tell me, how must I correct my style to achieve the a tag inside the li to be rendered blue and not red?

Hi, I am trying to build the search for a Django site I am building, and in the search I am searching in 3 different models. And to get pagination on the search result list I would like to use a generic object_list view to display the results. But to do that i have to merge 3 querysets into one. How can i do that? Assume (since it's F#) that the function would not be changing the state of the collection that it's attached to, but returning some new value.

I'd like to setup outlook to just ask me for the case number, fill it in the appropriate place in the body and subject of the email and then send it to a preset list of recipients (it's a static list of people). I think some combination of Forms and Templates should be able to do this but I'm unsure how.

The basic idea is to create a page that gives the user the ability to choose a skin or theme from a menu. When the user selects the desired skin/theme, it should be applied to the page, just like the jquery ui theme roller page. So, to be more precise, what I am trying to know is how to apply dynamically the style to a page - how to load the css and so forth. On the jquery ui theme roller, is there any javascript triggered after the new set of styles is loaded? (for js positioning or sizing?) (The answer may be simple as "just create a new style element and set its src"...) Just to be clear, I don't need the option to let users customize the UI, I want them just to be able to pick from a few pre set styles. Thanks!

Hi Im facing a problem with the car and cdr functions for example: first I defined a list called it x (define x (a (bc) d ( (ef) g ) )) so x now is equal to (a (bc) d ( (ef) g ) ) now for example I need to get the g from this list using only car and cdr (!! noshortcuts as caddr cddr !!) the correct answer is: (car(cdr(car(cdr(cdr(cdr x)))))) BUT how ? :-( I work according to the rules (the car gives the head of list and cdr gives the tail) and instead of getting the answer above I keep reaching wrong answers. JQuery: which element was clicked?

I have a list with links. These links are links to tables on the same page. What I want to do is whatever link I click in the list it will show its corresponding table and hide all the others. Without adding a different id/class to each link in the list and its corresponding table, is there a way to find out which element was clicked and show() its table? From what I understand JQuery returns an array object on its selector. How can I find out what element of the array was clicked? I've tried to use event.which but I'm a little lost. Help is greatly appreciated!

What is the best way to make a schedule in MFC

I have a list of items that are each associated with a start and end time and date. What I want to do is, given a time and date range, display only the items that fall within that window, even partially. What I'm doing is creating a CListCtrl with all the items in it and the CListCtrl is sorted by start time by default. But given a time range, I don't know how to search for the first item that is within the range. Another problem with the list control is it displays as a list, whereas it would be nice if there was a control that could also show things that are concurrent side by side. I'm doing this within a dialog application.

The problem is that neither is working, and the error console shows "input.adjacent is not a function" I'm using prototype 1.6.1 and scriptaculous 1.8.3

How does Model binding with a selectlist work?

Hi, I'm having problems retrieving the values of a selectlist in my form collection. I've tried making a viewmodel with an attribute with the same name as the select list. I'm honestly just realizing I REALLY don't understand how model binding works with selectlists. I've just been assuming that the following conventions apply: Name the select list the same thing as the attribute on the model you want it to bind to. Apart from that, I really don't get it. I've looked at several books on it and they're useless frankly. How does a select list work with a) form collection and b) a particular model?

Can this be improved? Scrubing of dangerous html tags.

I been finding that for something that I consider pretty import there is very little information or libraries on how to deal with this problem. I found this while searching. I really don't know all the million ways that a hacker could try to insert the dangerous tags. I have a rich html editor so I need to keep non dangerous tags but strip out bad ones. So is this script missing anything? Adding items to Model Collection in ASP.NET MVC

In an ASP.NET MVC application where I have the following model.. public class EventViewModel { public Guid Id { get; set; } public List<Guid> Attendants { get; set; } } passed to a view... public ActionResult Create(EventViewModel model) { // ... } I want to be able to add to the "Attendants" Collection from the View. The code to add it works just fine - but how can I ensure that the View model retains the list? Is there any way to do this without saving/opening/saving etc? I am calling my addition method via jQuery $.load. public void Insert(Guid attendant) { // add the attendant to the attendees list of the model - called via $.load } I would also like to add there is no database. There is no storage persistence other than plain files.
