• Coldfusion server VERY slow page loads

  I inherited a windows server 2003 coldfusion 7 server a few weeks ago. Today a network cable was unplugged by accident from the server. On plugging it back in, pages were NOT loading at all. Rather, we were receiving a generic coldfusion error page. After restarting IIS several times and coldfusion even more than that, we finally got pages to start loading. However, the loading is extremely slow (30+ seconds) on pages that used to load instantly. Loading through the local network (IE localhost/cfide/administrator) does nothing to help the load speed. I am not familiar with IIS or Coldfusion (We're in the process of migrating this to Linux/PHP), so this is all new territory to me. I'm hoping someone may have experienced this issue in the past and can help me solve it. I'm happy to provide any additional information that might be necessary....I'm just not sure what information you might need in order to help. Thanks for your time.

There is no full time IT staff. What I'm looking for: centralized administration - server is Windows Server 2003 minimal admin overhead ability to do e-mail notification/alerts/reporting would be very cool 10-25 XP Clients (P3/P4 hardware) free or discounted solution for non-profits We can get a cheap license for Symantec Endpoint Protection. My past experience with Symantec has been bad, but I've heard good things about this product. However, I've also read that it's kind of a nightmare to setup and administer, and may not be worth it for the size of our network.

• How to authenticate users in nested groups in Apache LDAP?

  I've working LDAP authentication with the following setup AuthName "whatever" AuthType Basic AuthBasicProvider ldap AuthLDAPUrl "ldap://server/OU=SBSUsers,OU=Users,OU=MyBusiness,DC=company,DC=local?sAMAccountName?sub?(objectClass=*)" Require ldap-group CN=MySpecificGroup,OU=Security Groups,OU=MyBusiness,DC=company,DC=local This works, however I've to put all users I want to authenticate into MySpecificGroup. But on LDAP server I've configured that MySpecificGroup also contains the group MyOtherGroup with another list of users. But those users in MyOtherGroup are not authenticated, I've to manually add them all to MySpecificGroup and basically can't use the nested grouping. I'm using Windows SBS 2003. Is there a way to configure Apache LDAP to do this? Or is there a problem with possible infinite recursion and thus not allowed?

• Twitter 2 for Android crash every time I try uploading multi photos [closed]

  Hello, I'm using the new Twitter 2 on Android 2.1. Whenever I hit the button which enables me to upload multiple photos in a single tweet, I always get the error "The application Camera (process com.sonyericsson.camera) has stopped unexpectidly. Please try again". However, uploading a single photo using the camera button in Twitter have no problem, it works. My phone is Sony Ericsson x10 mini pro. I tried signing out and back in, same result. Anything I can do to fix this? • Moving WSS sites to a new SharePoint 2010 Foundation server

  This existing question helps but it doesn't answer all my questions. I have WSS 3 running on Server1 (Server 2003) and its database is DBServer1 (SQL 2008). I have installed SharePoint 2010 Foundation on Server2 (Server 2008) with databases on DBServer2 (SQL 2008 R2). SP 2010 Foundation is up and running ok and it already has one newly created Web Application. Now my goal is to copy all sites from Server1/DBServer1 to Server2/DBServer2 (and eventually retire Server1/DBServer1). Could you please help me with a step-by-step list on how to accomplish this?   I've been able to install Office 2003 on a couple of computers that I own without any trouble. However, I just got office 2007 and I'm not able to install it on my computer and my laptop. I know this may violate agreements and whatnot but I'm curious to know if this is something that Microsoft has finally started to crack down on or what. Any information is help full. • Microsoft Outlook: show multi-day appointments as boxes in calendar day and week view

  I would like to show appointments spanning several days the same way as appintments within a single day. Single day appointments are shown with a white or colored box, covering the day horizontally. Multi-day appointments are shown in the day/week header and are indicated blue or purple on the left side of a day. This happens even if a multi-day appointment is not an all-day appointment (i.e. checkbox is off) and I have a start and end time. I frequently have a hard time seeing appointment overlaps wenn acceping single day appointments. Therefore I am looking for multi-day appointments shown the same way as single day appointments. I am on Outlook 2003.

• What can cause peaks in pagetables in /proc/meminfo ?

  I have a gameserver running Debian Lenny on a VPS host. Even when experiencing a fairly low load, the players start experiencing major lag (ping times rise from 50 ms to 150-500 ms) in bursts of 3 - 10 seconds. I have installed Munin server monitoring, but when looking at the graphs it looks like the server has plenty of CPU, RAM and bandwidth available. The only weird thing I noticed is some peaks in the memory graph attributed to "page_tables" which maps to PageTables in /proc/meminfo but I can't find any good information on what this might mean. Any ideas what might be causing this? If you need any more graps, just let me know. The interrupts/second count is at roughly 400-600 during this period (nearly all from eth0). The drop in committed was caused by me trying to lower the allocated memory for the server from 512MB to 256MB, but that didn't seem to help.

I want to access a File on this Device via Java, but I am not able to figure out the correct Path to it. There is a similar Question out there, but without a productive answear. • Is it possible to manually install RDP client 6.1 for platforms that aren't directly supported?

  I have some clients that need RDP client 6.1 in order to utilize the new easy print driver. However, the installer doesn't allow it to install on several platforms such as Windows Home Server or Windows Server 2003 because they are not XP. The version check prevents it going further. I'm reasonably confident that it should actually run however and want to try it. Has anyone done this before? what I should really ask is... what files should I manually copy (backing up originals first)... just the exe or are there lots of dependant dll's that need upgrading too?

• Restoring Subversion repositories from backup

  Hi, I had to restore a subversion server from a backup image taken the previous night. Everything worked fine after the restore except for one repository. A working copy had been committed on the server after the latest backup, so this working copy had newer files than the restored repository. I tried to commit the files using tortoise, but SVN didn't recognize that the files on the working copy were newer than those in the repository. I'm using Subversion Server 1.6.5 on Windows 2003 Server and TortoiseSVN 1.6.8 64 bit on a Win7 64 bit client. Thanks, John

  Is there any software out there that is able to convert a Powerpoint slideshow (either in 2003 or 2007 format) to a series of JPG or PNG images? I'm looking for either standalone software that can do this from the command line, or ideally a .NET library that can be utilized to do the conversion (not holding my breath on that last one). I know that Powerpoint itself can do the conversion, but it's something I'm looking to integrate into a web application that can't rely on PowerPoint itself being installed. I've done some searches out there, but all I can really find are either instructions on how to do this in Powerpoint, or software itself that looks like its from a very shady source.

  Good day. We have a little problem here. We have a share with the backup of all the server's offices, Its a really big share with more than 8.000.000 files. Our users usually give long names to the folders they create, and then make subfolders (long too) and more subfolders... and more suboflders.... We have a new share with more capacity, and with a simpe robocopy bat we copied all the files and folders (some give problems, but we manually copied them) But the problem is deleting them. del command didnt work well when so long paths, neirder rmdir... I'm tried some commanders, but no luck. Can u recommend me any tool that can delete recursively or able to delete 255+ paths? Edited: The SO on background of the share it's NetApp OS. But I can access it from Windows Servers. 2000 and 2003 Thanks.

• TeamViewer: How to disable color dithering for low-bit-depth screen settings

  I am using Terminal Services and TeamViewer a lot to access other computers, partly over slow networks. The problem described below is not affected by which of the two remote access services I am using. When accessing Windows 7 Professional machines, a great deal of text is hard to read as the background is dithered. Even for exactly the same colors, Windows 2003 does not seem to dither at all, but to choose the closest available color. I strongly prefer the latter, as I don't care for the exact colors, I just want to be able to read easily. I am not sure whether this is operating system-related. The programs on the remote systems do not allow me to change the color choices for the various backgrounds to anything sane. Is there a way to disable this color dithering using some target operating system setting that will do the trick for both Terminal Services and TeamViewer?

• Grant relay to servers based on AD security group membership

  We're moving our relay from an Exchange 2003 server to an Exchange 2010 server. I was hoping the "Grant or deny relay permissions to specific users or groups" option would still be available in some form, but I can't find out how to do it. I've read up on recieve connectors and so far I can't get it to work. I have edited the security on the Recieve Connector to allow the following extended rights to the group and added computer accounts to that group: Accept Routing Headers Bypass Anti-spam Submit to Server Accept any Sender Accept any Recipient Then I suddenly realised while testing... How would the receive connector resolve the permission to a particular AD object, maybe a reverse DNS lookup? What I'd like to know is if what I'm trying to achieve is possible, and how it would be possible. I would rather not revert to an IP-based list as this is not as manageable, and I'm trying to avoid creating static IPs/reservations for a number of workstations that would otherwise not need them.

In the above configuration, I have installed windows xp 64 bit operating systems and continue to installed vmware workstation 6.5. From the VM workstation, I can able to install ESX3.5 update2, but I unable to start properly, please refer the below mention error. “Mounting root failed. Dropping into basic maintenance shell.   Is there a way to set the DNS Suffix for multiple network adapters in a VM using the sysprep file? We are trying to setup Windows 2003 VMs with 2 network adapters. In the one adapter case the sysprep we are able to set the suffix using DNSDomain. But this doesnt work in the 2 adapter case. The The VM is setup corrently though without any issues but one of our apps relies on the DNS Suffix value to work correctly. Thanks in advance.

Am I right to assume that fixing the FRS errors is #1, what do I need to do for that? set enable journalwrap auto restore in registry? Demote W2000 domain controller, should that have any implications for ISA? We have Forefront to be deployed but that's another day Transfer Domain Nameing Role to Exchange server (I know or think having an Exchange server as DC isn't best practive) We will be getting another server W2008 to replace current file server and I thought it could takeover all roles once deployed Demote W2k3 file server and then raise functional domain level to 2008 Am I missing anything other that the sense to walk away? Thanks
