  • WDS 2008 R2 DHCP Error

    Im having a problem where I get the error 'An error occurred while obtaining an IP address from the DHCP server. Please check to ensure that there is an operational DHCP server on this network segment' when booting from a standard WDS boot.wim image taken from a Windows 7 DVD. I am using Server 2008 R2 and am adding the drivers to the boot using WDS, but also have the problem if the drivers are injected beforehand using DISM. When the error occurs I can shift + F10 and IPCONFIG and see it HAS picked up an internal IP from DHCP. Seems maybe it is timing out before it gets the IP? DHCP server is not on the WDS box but is in the same subnet. As per some fixes I have read I enabled RSTP on my switches but that didnt help. I have included the end of setupact.log to see if any of you have any ideas. Seems to be failing but as I say, the network IS initialized as I can see the internal IP assigned by DHCP when running IPCONFIG. I dont suppose theres any way of increasing the timeout?   • Windows 2008 Unknown Disks

    I have a BL460c G7 blade server with OS Windows 2008 R2 SP1. This is a brand new C7000 enclosure, with FlexFabric interconnects. I got my FC switches setup and zoned properly to our Clariion CX4, and can see all the hosts that are assigned FCoE HBAs on both paths in both Navisphere and in HP Virtual Connect Manager. So I went ahead and created a storage group for a test server, assigned the appropriate host, assigned the LUN to the server. So far so good, log onto server and I can see 4 unknown disks.... No problem, I install MS MPIO, no luck, can't initialize the disks, and the multiple disks don't go away. Still no problem, I install PowerPath version 5.5 reboot. Now I see 3 disks. One is initialized and ready to go, but I still have 2 disks that I can't initialize, can't offline, can't delete. If I right click in storage manager and go to properties I can see that the MS MPIO tab, but I can't make a path active. I want to get rid of these phantom disks, but so far nothing is working and google searches are showing up some odd results, so obviously I'm not framing my question right. I thought I'd ask here real quick. Does anyone know a quick way to get rid of these unknown disks. Another question, do I need the MPIO feature installed if I have PowerPath installed? This is my first time installing Windows 2008 R2 in this fashion and I'm not sure if that feature is needed or not right now. So some more information to add to this. It seems I'm dealing with more of a Windows issue than anything else. I removed the LUN from the server, uninstalled PowerPath completely, removed the MPIO feature from the server, and rebooted twice. Now I am back to the original 4 Unknown Disks (plus the local Disk 0 containing the OS partition of course, which is working fine) I went to diskpart, I could see all 4 Unknown disks, I selected each disk, ran clean (just in case i'd somehow brought them online previously as GPT and didn't realize it) After a few minutes I was no longer able to see the disks when I ran list disk. However, the disks are still in Disk Management. When I try and offline the disks from Disk Management I get an error: Virtual Disk Manager - The system cannot find the file specified. Accompanied by an error in System Event Logs: Log Name: System Source: Virtual Disk Service Date: 6/25/2012 4:02:01 PM Event ID: 1 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: hostname.local Description: Unexpected failure. Error code: 2@02000018 Event Xml: 1 2 0 0x80000000000000 4239 System hostname.local 2@02000018 I feel sure there is a place I can go in the Registry to get rid of these, I just can't recall where and I am loathe to experiement. So to recap, there are currently no LUNS attached at all, I still have the phantom disks, and I'm getting The system cannot find the file specified from Virtual Disk Manager when I try to take them offline.   • SBS2003 to SBS2011 Migration - Installation Error

    Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 to 2011 Migration. I followed the Migration Guide from Microsoft and the source server had no errors when running the various tests prior to the migration. I have completed the destination server setup using the Answer File and the server is up and running. It all looks good, I can access Exchange and AD and the only problem is the error message when you log in stating that the setup did not complete and to check the logs. Because all looks good I am continuing the migration to the destination server. I also have to state that this client does not use Sharepoint at all. Do I have to redo everything?     I have a file called config.yml in my /config folder of my rails application. I also have an initializer: config/initializers/load_config.rb with the following code: APP_CONFIG = YAML.load_file("#{RAILS_ROOT}/config/config.yml") I am using the Whenever gem to set up a cron job, and would like to use my APP_CONFIG to call a function like so: #inside schedule.rb every 2.hours do runner "MyModel.someMethod('#{APP_CONFIG['some_value']}')" end but the Whenever gem doesn't seem to recognize the config file when I call whenever --update-crontab mysite How can I incorporate values from my configuration in my schedule.rb file (instead of hard-coding the value)?     Hello everyone, I want to build a web app in JPA2/CDI (without EJBs) and i get how to code the different beans (i worked for some time on seam/jpa apps), but i'm stuck because i can't find a complete working set of configuration files (ie : persistence.xmln web.xml and stuff), and there is always a little glitch or something i miss. My goal is to develop a simple CRUD (1 or 2 pages) but unit tested, for future use, as a code base. So if you already did this kind of mini project, or if you know where i can find a working example, that would be great if you could help me. Thanks

    I spend a few hours trying to get Twitter integration to work with Spring Social using the XML configuration approach. All the examples I could find on the web (and on stackoverflow) always use the @Config approach as shown in the samples For whatever reason the bean definition to get an instance to the twitter API throws an AOP exception: Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot create scoped proxy for bean 'scopedTarget.twitter': Target type could not be determined at the time of proxy creation.   • How to configure web proxy for Jing

    Jing is great. But it won't start unless it can phone the mother ship. My internet access is via corporate web proxy. Jing doesn't seem to offer any way of configuring its connection to the internet. You'd think it would just use the windows internet connection settings that work for browsing, but no dice. Anyone solve this problem? Maybe there are some configuration files or registry settings that would fix this? Thanks!

    Hi, I need to automate the migration from an Access (2003) to an SQL Server DB (2005 or 2008). The upsizing should be done automatically as part of a build process. I need that because there are 2 versions of the software, a single user rich client and a web version. Access DB is used for single user to minimize setup effort, SQL Server to improve performance and scaling with many simultanious users. Access should be the "leading" DB, meaning devs do changes in Access DB and those are propagated to the SQL server within the build process. Many changes will occur, so doing it manually is not an option. I am new to the Microsoft world, so I dont know appropriate tools for that. What tools can I use and how?     What I want to do is quite simple: store data in a custom config file that I want to read later on. I created my file something.yml that I put in the global config directory. It looks like that: prod: test: ok dev: test: ko all: foo: bar john: doe Then I copied the config_handlers.yml and also put it in the config directory and added the following at the top of the file: config/something.yml: class: sfDefineEnvironmentConfigHandler param: prefix: something_ But if I'm calling sfConfig::get("something_foo"); I keep getting NULL. What did I do wrong? I just want to read values, so no need to create a custome config handler, right? I've read the doc here: http://www.symfony-project.org/book/1_2/19-Mastering-Symfony-s-Configuration-Files even though I'm running 1.4 (I don't think that changed since then). Edit: Of course I can use sfYaml::load() but I'd like to do things in a better way.

  • Why does my server hang when I call a page over files_get_content?

    I am trying to get content from a wordpress installation on a subdomain of my server. I tried that with file_get_content and also with Zend_Http_Client. $client = new Zend_Http_Client(Zend_Registry::get('CONFIG')->static->$name->$lang); $content = $client->request()->getBody(); As long as I run in on my localhost, it works fine. As soon as it runs on the same server as the subdomain, it hangs forever (timeout).   • What is the typical setup for a laptop used for multi platform development?

    I am planning to build a new laptop for development for both Windows & Linux platforms. On Windows, my development would be primarily on .NET/C#/IIS/MSSQL Server. On Linux, preferably Ubuntu, my development would be on Ruby and Python. I am thinking of buying a laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed with 4GB RAM/Intel Core 2 Duo/320 GB HD & then thinking of running 2 VMs for both Windows and Linux development with the host OS as my work station. Of course, I would be running DBs and web servers on the respective platforms. Is this a typical setup? My only concern is running two VMs side by side. Not sure if this configuration would be optimal. Alternative would be to do my Windows development on the host Windows 7 OS. Any thoughts?

    I'm having difficulties finding out how to implement a 'configurable' behavior in a factory class in PHP. I've got at class, which takes another class as an argument in its constructor. The argument class could take a number of arguments in its constructor. An instance of my main class could look something like this $instance = new MyClass(new OtherClass(20, true)); $instance2 = new MyClass(new DifferentClass('test')); This is rather clumsy and has a number of problems and therefore I would like to move this into a factory class. The problem is that this factory somehow needs to know how to instantiate the argument class, as this class can have any number of arguments in the constructor. Preferably I would like to be able to do something like this $instance = Factory::build('OtherClass'); $instance2 = Factory::build('DifferentClass'); And let the factory retrieve the arguments from a configuration array or similar. Is there a proper solution to this problem?

    Hello everybody. I'm building a Visual Studio Package and associated with it, I have an app.config file (which contains some information about connecting to a WCF service). As far as I can tell, this package is actually connecting to the devnev.exe.config configuration file (if I use AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetupInformation.ConfigurationFile), it will retrieve the path to the devnev.exe.config Firstly, is this correct? Shouldn't the package automatically pick up the app.config file? If this is the case, then how can I make the project use the app.config file? I'm running VS2010 Ultimate, programming in C#. Thanks!

I would like to have the flexibility of not providing a section name (there are scripts which are simple enough; they don't need a 'section'). ConfigParser will throw the NoSectionError exception, and will not accept the file. How can I make ConfigParser simply retrieve the (key, value) tuples of a config file without section names? For instance: key1=val1 key2:val2 I would rather not write to the config file.

    I remember reading on the ubuntu forums some time ago about a program to automatically check configuration changes into version control for you. It was (of course) not Ubuntu-specific. I'm pretty sure it used git, though it may have been svn, or perhaps even able to work with multiple different VCSs. My Googling has turned up nothing, and I'd rather not roll my own script if someone has already done this well. Of course I could just manually check things in, but there are reasons I'd like it done automatically. (I'm actually planning to use this for my LastSession.plist file for Safari, so when the #@$%^*&! thing crashes, and I don't restore everything, and then Leopard crashes, the fact that it has such lousy session management won't mean I lose the dozens of windows with dozens of tabs I had open.)

    Hi all. A while back I had to come up with a way to clean up all indexes and user-created statistics from some tables in a SQL Server 2005 database. After a few attempts it worked, but now I gotta have it working in SQL Server 2000 databases as well. For SQL Server 2005, I used SELECT Name FROM sys.stats WHERE object_id = object_id(@tableName) AND auto_created = 0 to fetch Statistics that were user-created. However, SQL 2000 doesn't have a sys.stats table. I managed to fetch the indexes and statistics in a distinguishable way from the sysindexes table, but I just couldn't figure out what the sys.stats.auto_created match is for SQL 2000. Any pointers? BTW: T-SQL please.

    I want to divide business layer (BLL) of an asp.net application into multiple components. Each component is a .NET class library which is compiled as a standalone DLL. These components should have their own configuration files. For example "MyNameSpace.Users.dll" contains classes about users of the website and there's a password policy to check if password length is at least x characters. When webmaster edits the config file of this DLL and set x to y then component (DLL) should use new value (y) in the future and enforce passwords to be at least y characters. I want each component as a single project and compile them separaely (and not to put all projects in a solution in Visual Studio), and put the DLLs of these libraries into the "Bin" folder of my ASP.NET application. Is it possible ? Where should I put these config files ?

  • How can I easily run different configurations in Eclipse?

    I have an Java applications which I would like to run with different values of input parameters (specified in the command line). In "Run - Run Configurations" I have created different configurations corresponding to different values of the input arguments. I can run these configurations in the same way (throw "Run - Run Configurations"). But in these case I have to perform to many actions (clicks) to run a particular configuration. Is there a easier (faster) way to do that? For example I expect that I can do it throw "Run - Run as" but in the drop-dawn menu of the "Run as" I see "(Not Applicable)".
