    In C# you have nice alignment attributes such as this: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Explicit)] public struct Message { [FieldOffset(0)] public int a; [FieldOffset(4)] public short b; [FieldOffset(6)] public int c; [FieldOffset(22)] //Leave some empty space just for the heck of it. public DateTime dt; } Which gives you fine control on how you need your structure to be layed out in memory. Is there such a thing in standard C++?

  • Connecting to remote mysql database with API

    I am designing a desktop application in C#, which needs to be connected to my online mysql database. I tried to give access in control panel a "%" which means from any IP, but it is not working. May be the hosting provider (bigrock) not allowing that. Alternatively, I am trying to write some code in online on PHP which will get the "sql" as parameter and returns the output as JSON format using json_encode. Is there any alternate methods which is better approach.

  • How to uncheck header checkbox in GridView when sorting and paging?

    Hi, I followed this article and it works great except when paging or sorting the HeaderCheckBox is still checked. How and where should this be unchecked?     I'm uisng a RichTextArea to display my html content in SL 4,I want to underline the content displayed by the control ( without modifying the html) and also attach an event of Onclick on the text . I tried different options i.e using RichTextArea in the content template of a Hyperlinkbutton but as the content of RichTextArea cannot be set directly, this was ruled out. Any suggestions ?

  • Problem with character encoding on email sent via PHP?

    Hi everybody, Having some trouble sending properly formatted HTML e-mail from a PHP script. I am running PHP 5.3.0 and Apache 2.2.11 on Windows XP Professional. The output looks like this: Agent Summary for Support on Tuesday April 20 2010=20 Ext. Name Time Volume 137 Agent Name 01:27:25 1 138 =09 00:00:00 0 139 =09 00:00:00 0 You see the =20 and =09 in there? If you look at the HTML you also see = signs being turned into =3D. I figure this is a character encoding issue as I read the following at Wikipedia: ISO-8859-1 and Windows-1252 confusion It is very common to mislabel text data with the charset label ISO-8859-1, even though the data is really Windows-1252 encoded. In Windows-1252, codes between 0x80 and 0x9F are used for letters and punctuation, whereas they are control codes in ISO-8859-1. Many web browsers and e-mail clients will interpret ISO-8859-1 control codes as Windows-1252 characters in order to accommodate such mislabeling but it is not standard behaviour and care should be taken to avoid generating these characters in ISO-8859-1 labeled content. This looks like the problem but I don't know how to fix.   • Microsoft JScript runtime error: ASPx is undefined

    I'm getting this error all over the place in my web application and trying to figure out why. The error is always for some control, ASPxClientTextBox for example. So far the only thing I've found as a potential fix is to check the httphandlers section of the .net web.config (the one in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\web.config) and make sure an entry for "WebResource.axd" exists, which it does. Any idea's what's going on or where I should look?

    i have given the user the option to upload his own aspx and code behind i will extract the path by the help of upload control and display the page onto the users home page, am thinking of using iframe but the problem of iframe is its size if fixed, are there any other ways of displaying page within a page without the use of iframes? and is there any efficient way of achieving the above goal? if there is no alternative please give a link explaining how privide resizing in iframes at the users end.

Such data include database file settings (database.yml) and some other files that have secret API keys. When I deploy to heroku, how can I deal with files that are not under revision control. When I use Capistrano, I can write some hook methods, but I don't know what to do with Heroku.
