    Could anyone please help me? I am at the last chance saloon and losing a lot of traffic. Any help would be greatfully received. After a year based on my permalink structure, all posts were in the root so have been picked up by Google as: snowmenu.com/postname Since changing my categories and permalink structure, I need the years worth of posts on Google to be redirected to: snowmenu.com/ski-snowboard-winter-sports-news/postname Is there a way to make this happen via .htaccess? Thank you very much to anyone who's able to help me.

  • Wordpress main website and mobile website duplicate content.

    Basically a client has asked for his WordPress website to be turned into a mobile website as well. I have never attempted this and know nothing about SEO. However the issue has arisen that this may cause duplicate content issues with Google, and therefore both sites may be dropped in the rankings. I was looking at turning the website into a mobile site via one of the available WordPress mobile website plugins. My question is if duplicate content will be an issue? Has anyone ever tried this? After doing some reading I kind of think it may be possible to tell Google not to index the mobile website, although as I understand it It would be the same set of files. So I am unsure that if I tell it not to index one of them, that it will drop the other one as well. Can anyone with WordPress and SEO knowledge clear this up for me?

  • Running Awk command on a cluster

    How do you execute a Unix shell command (awk script, a pipe etc) on a cluster in parallel (step 1) and collect the results back to a central node (step 2) Hadoop seems to be a huge overkill with its 600k LOC and its performance is terrible (takes minutes just to initialize the job) i don't need shared memory, or - something like MPI/openMP as i dont need to synchronize or share anything, don't need a distributed VM or anything as complex Google's SawZall seems to work only with Google proprietary MapReduce API some distributed shell packages i found failed to compile, but there must be a simple way to run a data-centric batch job on a cluster, something as close as possible to native OS, may be using unix RPC calls i liked rsync simplicity but it seem to update remote notes sequentially, and you cant use it for executing scripts as afar as i know switching to Plan 9 or some other network oriented OS looks like another overkill i'm looking for a simple, distributed way to run awk scripts or similar - as close as possible to data with a minimal initialization overhead, in a nothing-shared, nothing-synchronized fashion Thanks Alex

    I'm creating a GWT application that uses UiBinder, and I've come across a bizarre problem where styles aren't applying to my elements--until I refresh the browser, and then the styles briefly get applied, in that fraction of a second before the page refreshes. In other words: Open page; none of my defined styles are used.     I have a browser which takes certain parameters as options as shown below. testbrowser.exe -id=test -url=http://www.google.com/. Below is my selenium code. selenium = new DefaultSelenium("localhost", 4444, "*custom "+testBrowser+" -id=test -url=", "http://www.google.com/"); selenium.start(); selenium.open("http://www.yahoo.com"); When i execute this i am getting the below error. java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not start Selenium session: Failed to start new browser session: Error while launching browser at com.thoughtworks.selenium.DefaultSelenium.start(DefaultSelenium.java:103) I think the problem is with options that my browser requires as the same code works fine with firefox or IE.     I'm using Google Test Framework to set some unit tests. I have got three projects in my solution: FN (my project) FN_test (my tests) gtest (Google Test Framework) I set FN_test to have FN and gtest as references (dependencies), and then I think I'm ready to set up my tests (I've already set everyone to /MTd (not doing this was leading me to linking errors before)). Particularly, I define a class called Embark in FN I would like to test using FN_test. So far, so good.     How is an app's position in the Android Market search results determined? Is it as mysterious and complex as Google Web search results? We obviously don't want to change any words in our app's title or description that would hurt our position. Same question applies for not only search results, but when clicking on a Category in the Android Market. How is the order of the list determined? Hopefully someone here can help. I would think that Google would have published some guidelines at least that could help, but I haven't found anything yet.

  • Cross-Page communication in firefox extension

    I have two tabs that my extension uses and I wanted to pass events back and forth between them. I've already developed a Google Chrome extension that does this via the background page api, but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent in firefox. I thought message-manager in the firefox extension docs would do the trick, but the documentation on the object is quite poor. I'd be just as happy with using one of the tabs to control the other if I can't directly import the ideas of a background page from google chrome api. Any help/guidance would be great.

  • VB.net, disable proxy for entire program

    Ever since upgrading to Visual Studio 2010, I'm running into an issue where the first web request of any type (WebRequest, WebClient, etc.) hangs for about 20 seconds before completing. Subsequent calls work quickly. I've narrowed down the problem to a proxy issue. If I manually disable proxy settings, I don't experience this delay: Dim wrq As WebRequest = WebRequest.Create(Url) wrq.Proxy = Nothing What's strange is that there are no proxy settings enabled on this machine in Internet Options. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to disable proxy settings for my entire project in one shot without explicitly disabling as above for every web object. The main reason I want to be able to do this is that I'm trying to use an API (http://code.google.com/p/google-api-for-dotnet/) which uses web requests, but does not provide any way to manually disable proxy settings. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

    Let's take a deeper look at what we mean when we talk about 'Master' data. In its most general sense, master data is data that exists in more than one operational application. These are the applications that automate business processes. These applications require significant amounts of data to function correctly.  This includes data about the objects that are involved in transactions, as well as the transaction data itself.  For example, when a customer buys a product, the transaction is managed by a sales application.  The objects of the transaction are the Customer and the Product.  The transactional data is the time, place, price, discount, payment methods, etc. used at the point of sale. Many thousands of transactional data attributes are needed within the application. These important data elements are local to the applications and have no bearing on other applications. Harmonization and synchronization across applications is not necessary. The Customer and Product objects of the transaction also have a large number of attributes. Customer for example, includes hierarchies, hierarchical and matrixed relationships, contacts, classifications, preferences, accounts, identifiers, profiles, and addresses galore for 'ship to', 'mail to'; 'service at'; etc. Dozens of attributes exist for individuals, hundreds for organizations, and thousands for products. This data has meaning beyond any particular application. It exists in many applications and drives the vital cross application enterprise business processes. These are the processes that define and differentiate the organization. At every decision point, information about the objects of the process determines the direction of the process flow. This is the nature of the data that exists in more than one application, and this is why we call it 'master data'. Let me elaborate. Parties Oracle has developed a party schema to model all participants in your daily business operations. It models people, organizations, groups, customers, contacts, employees, and suppliers. It models their accounts, locations, classifications, and preferences.  And most importantly, it models the vast array of hierarchical and matrixed relationships that exist between all the participants in your real world operations.  The model logically separates people and organizations from their relationships and accounts.  This separation creates flexibility unmatched in the industry and accounts for the fact that the Oracle schema for Customers, Suppliers, and Accounts is a true superset of the wide variety of commercial and homegrown customer models in existence. Sites Sites are places where business is conducted. They can be addresses, clusters such as retail malls, locations within a cluster, floors within a building, places where meters are located, rooms on floors, etc.  Fully understanding all attributes of a site is key to many business processes. Attributes such as 'noise abatement policy' at a point of delivery, or the size of an oven in a business kitchen drive day-to-day activities such as delivery schedules or food promotions. Typically this kind of data is siloed in departments and scattered across applications and spreadsheets.  This leads to conflicting information and poor operational efficiencies. Oracle's Global Single Schema can hold all site attributes in one place and enables a single version of authoritative site information across the enterprise. Products and Services The Oracle Global Single Schema also includes a number of entities that define the products and services a company creates and offers for sale. Key entities include Items organized into Catalogs and Price Lists. The Catalog structures provide for the ability to capture different views of a product such as engineering, manufacturing, and service which are based on a unified product model. As a result, designers, manufacturing engineers, purchasers and partners can work simultaneously on a common product definition. The Catalog schema allows for unlimited attributes, combines them into meaningful groups, and maps them to catalog categories to track these different types of information. The model also maps an unlimited number of functional structures for each item. For example, multiple Bills of Material (BOMs) can be constructed representing requirements BOM, features BOM, and packaging BOM for an item. The Catalog model also supports hierarchical information about each item and all standard Global Data Synchronization attributes. Business Processes Utilizing Linked Data Entities Each business entity codified into a centralized master data environment significantly improves the efficiency of the automated business processes that use the consolidated data.  When all the key business entities used by an organization's process are so consolidated, the advantages are multiplied.  The primary reason for business process breakdowns (i.e. data errors across application boundaries) is eliminated. All processes are positively impacted and business process automation is itself automated.  I like to use the "Call to Resolution" business process as an example to help illustrate this important point. It involves call center applications, service applications, RMA applications, transportation applications, inventory applications, etc. Customer, Site, Product and Supplier master data must all be correct and consistent across these applications.  What's more, the data relationships between customer and product, and product and suppliers must be right. This is the minimum quality needed to insure the business process flows without error. But that is not the end of the story. Critical master data attributes such as customer loyalty, profitability, credit worthiness, and propensity to buy can optimize the call center point of contact component of the process. Critical product information such as alternative parts or equivalent products can optimize the resolution selected by the process. A comprehensive understanding of the 'service at' location can help insure multiple trips are avoided in the process. Full supplier information on reliability, delivery delays, and potential alternates can prevent supplier exceptions and play a significant role in optimizing the process.  In other words, these master data attributes enable the optimization of the "Call to Resolution" enterprise business process. Master data supports and guides business process flows. Thus the phrase 'Master Data' is indeed appropriate. MDM is the software that houses, manages, and governs the master data that resides in all applications and controls the enterprise business processes. A complete master data solution takes a data model that holds fully attributed master data entities and their inter-relationships. Oracle has this model. Oracle, with its deep understanding of application data is the logical choice for managing all your master data within the enterprise whether or not your organization actually runs any Oracle Applications.

    Hi, I need a delphi component for Delphi 2007 win32 that have features like Google search text box. ** While User writing search key it should fill/refresh the list with values, and user can select one of them. **User can go up and down list and can select one of them. **List should contain codes and text pair, so user can select text and I can get code for database operations. (Google can highlight the search text in List but I think it is not possible with Delphi 2007, so it is not excepted.) I tried Dev Express TcxMRUEdit, however it doesn't meet my needs

I want it to be done in this way: Just put a code (server side scripting) linking to a text file or PHP file, and the code will extract the text and output in my blogspot blog. What i DONT want is to use javascript. Beacause, if i use javascript then the output will be seen only in the users screen. I want the output to be seen by Google Bot too.     Hi guys this is a followup from the question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2583928/prefilling-gmail-compose-screen-with-html-text Where I was building a google apps application - I can call a gmail compose message page from my application using the url: https://mail.google.com/a/domain/?view=cm&fs=1&tf=1&source=mailto&to=WHOEVER%40COMPANY.COM&su=SUBJECTHERE&cc=WHOEVER%40COMPANY.COM&bcc=WHOEVER%40COMPANY.COM&body=PREPOPULATEDBODY However when I try to pass in the body parameter a very long line of text eg as a reply message body I get this error from GMAIL stating the REQUEST URI is too long.
