  • Firefox extension to translate selection boxes

    Many extensions can translate selected texts. What if the text located within selection box? Meanwhile I can't translate the whole website because google translator says "Sorry, we are unable to translate the page you requested." I can use firebug to explore html, copy the text to google translator and do translation. Wondering if there is such add-on for firefox to translate text from "non selectable" HTML elements. Thx

    Someone in my studio designed a webpage some years ago, and now the client decided to change the server (he moved to a Linux Apache server running Gen2 SMP, 64 bits, PHP version 5.3.8, Standard MYSQL version 5). It suddenly started to do weird things. When clicking on a link that requires login, the page redirects you to the login page using header() function in PHP. Curiously, the page shows this: OK The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Has anyone faced something like this? Edit: IE doesn't trigger these two headers. This is getting wierder.

  • Information on the BMPP File Extension/Format

    I am looking for information on the file type BMPp. Namely I need an application that can create this file type, preferably open source or free. Wikipedia says for BMP File Format that 'BMPp' is a "type code", which is the "mechanism used by pre-OSX Macs ... to denote a files format..." (Look in the little info-box of general information under "Type code"). Continuing my research, I found an old 2009 archived mailing list "Re: Incorrect png file type 'PNG' that talks about something related to another problem a developer is having. In the response he talks about there being variant file types, and lists BMPp as being linked to an old version of Graphics Converter. The company Lemkesoft sells Graphics Converter, which I am not willing to purchase. I can't imagine that the only program in existence to make a BMPp file is that program. There has got to be another way to make that file type, other than creating a BMP file and just renaming it to BMPp (unless of course it is really that easy)? This is the first time I've run into this file format, and it took a bit on Google, Bing, and Wikipedia to find the information that I've posted here. Any further help would be appreciated.

  • Virtual folder for multiple sites

    I am creating a very simple flat file CMS for small (multilingual) websites. The little file writing that goes on is handled by 4 scripts in a publicly available folder in each site named /edit. Given that I have 2 websites now working on that simple system: websiteA/index.php (etc) websiteA/edit/ websiteB/index.php (etc) websiteB/edit/ What is the best way of making that /edit folder "virtual" in order that these and each subsequent website owner can login to their view of /edit and yet the code only exists in one place. I do not want the website owners to have to login from a central website, but from their own /edit directory. I have already read about different solutions seemingly using the <Directory> directive in my httpd.conf declaration for each website, and also using straight mod_rewrite but admit to now becoming confused about some of the terminology. Each website has its own config file which contains path settings and so on. What in your opinion is the best way to handle this? EDIT In light of a reply, I suppose that given a virtual host directive such as this: <VirtualHost 00.00.00.00:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/html/websitea.com ServerName www.websitea.com ServerAlias websitea.com DirectoryIndex index.htm index.php CustomLog logs/websitea combined </VirtualHost> Is it possible to create an alias inside that directive for the folder websitea.com/edit ?

    when we use technology like leased line to extend a lan over a wide area(like when connecting two offices such that hosts in both offices use private ip addresses) , why do we use encapsulations like ppp or hdlc...what can't we use the ethernet header to communicate because mac addresses are unique and can easily be used to identify hosts just like a small area lan... this question may seem a bit absurd but it has been bugging me...so plz explain

  • please take a look at my server's ram usage

    Hi, i am a noob with servers. I have a centos5.5 vps with 512mb ram. My goal is to have it host just one magento store. I've installed Magento on the server without any control panel, by just installing lamp myself and whatever php extensions were necessary to get Magento to install. As soon as i visit my magento store, suddenly the ram on the vps is almost completely used, with only about 100mb left. Please see this screenshot of htop taken after just myself visited the website. http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/1944/screenouv.png As you can see there's only around 100mb left. Is that normal? I'm wondering if i might have done something stupid with the server that makes it very resource hungry. I installed apache from the centos base repo, php version 5.3 from the ius repository and mysql 5.1 also from ius repo. I haven't changed any of the default config files for any of these except to make memory_minimum 256 in php.ini. Is there anything i can do to make more ram free? I'm clueless but i see each Apache daemon is using 8% of available ram, and AFAIK each visitor needs one Apache daemon. So i would run out of ram with just a handful of visitors. Thanks for your advice.

    I found a script on here that would use 7zip and extract all the files in all the sub-folders of a specific folder and put them in their own folder using the script below. What I need is add to it or maybe use another script if i have to and specify where i want those files to go instead of putting them in their own folder within the folder. I don't know how to do this and hope someone would be able to help. The dbconnect class isn't at fault as it's untampered and has been used in past projects. The error logs don't give any output and no MySQL errors show. Any ideas?

  • how to properly transfer user input from index to invoice?

    I got a dillema, I'm trying to find a solution for my code. How do I make it so that when the user inputs a given quantity in the text box from the index.php it will transfer that input quantity to the invoice.php. I've tried doing the post method but it seems like it's not working :/ As always, any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!   • Mediawiki authenication replacement showing "Login Required" instead of signing user into wiki

    I'm fairly to MediaWiki and needed a way to automatically log users in after they authenticated to a central server (which creates a session and cookie for applications to use). I wrote a custom authentication extension based off of the LDAP Authentication extension and a few others. The extension simply needs to read some session data to create or update a user and then log them in automatically. All the authentication is handled externally. A user would not be able to even access the wiki website without logging in externally. This extension was placed into production which replaced the old standard MediaWiki authentication system. I also merged user accounts to prepare for the change. By default, a user must be logged in to view, edit, or otherwise do anything in the wiki. My problem is that I found if a user had previously used the built-in MediaWiki authentication system and returned to the wiki, my extension would attempt to auto-login the user, however, they would see a "Login Required" page instead of the page they requested like they were an anonymous user. If the user then refreshed the page, they would be able to navigate, edit, etc. From what I can tell, this issue resolves itself after the UserID cookie is reset or created fresh (but has been known to strangely come up sometimes). To replicate, if there is an older User ID in the "USERID" cookie, the user is shown the "Login Required" page which is a poor user experience. Another way of showing this page is by removing the user account from the database and refreshing the wiki page. As a result, the user will again see the "Login Required" page. Does anyone know how I can use debugging to find out why MediaWiki thinks the user is not signed in when the cookies are set properly and all it takes is a page refresh?     I've modified my .htaccess file to allow access to html files without having to include the extension on the end, for example: www.mysite.com/document directs to www.mysite.com/document.html However, when I want to link to pages within my site using something like <a href="page.html"></a> I still get the .html appearing in the URL. So am I allowed to exclude the extension and leave a link as <a href="page"></a> so that the extension doesn't appear in the browser? Or is there a better way to do it?
