  • Does anybody know of a USB Postage Scale that's Linux compatible?

    I'm looking for a postage scale that already has linux support (drivers, etc) for a shipping system that I'm working on. I'm planning to use Ubuntu 9.04, but I am willing to switch distro's for compatibility. Does anybody know of any scales that currently work? Is there an open source project that's working on scale drivers or similar? Thanks!

Now if I or my clent upload the CMS in any server how will it work. because there is no database in that server. And in my php code I wrote to create database.   • Does anybody know of existing code to read a mork file (Thunderbird Address Book)?

    I have the need to read the Thunderbird address book on the fly. It is stored in a file format called Mork. Not a pleasant file format to read. I found a 1999 article explaining the file format. I would love to know if someone already has gone through this process and could make the code available. I found mork.pl by Jamie Zawinski (he worked on Netscape Navigator), but I was hoping for a .NET solution. I'm hoping StackOverflow will come to the rescue, because this just seems like a waste of my time to write something to read this file format when it should be so simple. I love the comments that Jamie put in his perl script. Here is my favorite part: # Let me make it clear that McCusker is a complete barking lunatic. # This is just about the stupidest file format I've ever seen.

    I'm interested in writing a visualization program for the road data in the 2009 Tiger/Line Shapefiles. I'd like to draw the line data to display all the roads for my county. The ESRI Shapefile or simply a shapefile is a popular geospatial vector data format for geographic information systems software. It is developed and regulated by ESRI as a (mostly) open specification for data interoperability among ESRI and other software products.1 A "shapefile" commonly refers to a collection of files with ".shp", ".shx", ".dbf", and other extensions on a common prefix name (e.g., "lakes.*"). The actual shapefile relates specifically to files with the ".shp" extension, however this file alone is incomplete for distribution, as the other supporting files are required. Does anyone know of existing libraries for parsing and reading in the line data for Shapefiles?

And how can I tell it to use the right one? Let's say I have a container with an IBar registered - will it understand that it should favor the constructor taking IBar? And if I specify a string too - will it use the (string, IBar) constructor? Foo foo = unityContainer.Resolve<Foo>(); And please ignore the fact that it would probably be easier if the class just had a single constructor...

    I'm using Oracle Advanced Queues via JMS from within Websphere App Server. Does anyone know what effect the following two properties have:- - oracle.jms.useEmulatedXA - oracle.jms.useNativeXA I have seen mentioned in some blogs and quick start guides, usually in sentences along the lines of "Add -Doracle.jms.useEmulatedXA=false -Doracle.jms.useNativeXA=true to the JAVA_PROPERTIES variable", without any explanation as to what they do:- e.g. http://biemond.blogspot.com/2008/11/using-aq-in-weblogic-103.html http://sqltech.cl/doc/oas10gR31/integrate.1013/b28994/adptr_aq.htm#CHDEADFB I'm curious as to what these two properties actually do, and what the implications of setting them are, even though they don't seem to have any affect on our app regardless of whether we set them or not.   • How do I know if have RSI or carpal tunnel?

    I feel that this is a much better place to ask this than a medical forum, we have ~250 people who spent most of their day in front of a computer. Does anyone here have any experience with such injuries? How/when did you find out? What did you do (if anything)? I don't know if I have the RSI, but I can tell you that I can "crack" my wrist and almost any one of my fingers whenever I want. Also, my wrist sometimes hurts me when I type for a very long time (especially on a laptop keyboard I have very long fingers so the palm is in an uncomfortable position most of the time) Is this normal? I bought a Logitech Wave keyboard, obviously it feels much better than the laptop keyboard, but I can't really tell if it helps the "cracking" and my wrist still sometimes hurts.

  • When I make a database change, how do I know what needs to be removed and readded to the LinqToSql O

    For example, I alter a column in a table to be not null from null. I need to then delete and readd the table. That part is pretty clear. What about views, functions, and stored procedures that access the table, especially that column in the table? I've tried running diffs against the files generated by SQLMetal with some limited success, but even with that it's fairly unclear. I know there is at least one commercial tool out there that claims to address this problem, but I am looking for something free. How are people dealing with this issue?

Which means that the speechSynthasizer is telling hte AppControler what to do. But I don't understand this line: [speechSynth setDelegate:self];

  • In Subversion, I know when a file was added, what's the quickest way to find out when it was deleted

    OK, so suppose I know I added file "foo.txt" to my Subversion repository at revision 500. So I can do a svn log -v http://svnrepo/path/foo.txt@500, and that shows all the files added at the same time. What's the fastest way to find when the file was deleted after it was added? I tried svn log -r500:HEAD -v http://svnrepo/path/foo.txt@500, but that gives me "path not found" - perhaps obviously, because the file "foo.txt" doesn't exist at "HEAD". I can try a binary search algorithm going forward through revisions (and that would certainly be faster than typing this question), but is there a better way?

  • I need to know what link is clicked, how do i get these variables with cherrypy?

    Lets say I display 3 links, I want to accomplish 2 things, know which link is clicked, and record this choice in a list/pickle or txt file but also capture this variable in cherrypy so I can perform another action. How do I do this? Its been suggested that I use a query string which makes sense but I can't get the querystring variable to cherrypy to use for further actions. So would anyone have a simple code of cherrypy with lets say 2 pages and have one page display 2 links with a querystring in each and the second page able to get that value?
