• C# .net framework- border on only one side of the form

  I am an inexperienced programmer , completely new to programming for windows . I am writing a little program that I always wanted . Its being written using C# using .net framework. atleast thats what I think I am doing. All the talk about framework and .nets , windows forms , and win32 api has all got me really confused.. :( anyways I have simple Form object. Form f = new Form() ; f.Text = "" ; f.ControlBox =false ; Now How to remove the all the borders on the form except one sides? As in, the side borders should go , but the top border should stay FormBorderStyle doesn't have anything for this Also how do you people solve such problems yourself , without asking ? look at others code ? read a a book ? any particular website ? I have googled , but it didn't turn up nothing.

• What are the precise rules/PHP function for encoding strings into POST arrays?

  Greetings, Just getting into PHP web development. I've got an HTML form where a user checks some series of dynamically-generated checkboxes, and submits via POST. On the PHP side, I want to check which of the check-boxes were clicked. I have an array $full_list, and am doing something like $selected_checkboxes = array_filter($full_list, function($item) { array_key_exists($item, $_POST); } I run into problems when a list item is named, for example "Peanut Butter", since in the POST array it is named "Peanut_Butter". I could certainly just str_replace " " with "_" before checking array_key_exists, but I imagine that there is a more fundamental encoding problem here; specifically, I'm not sure of exactly what layer transforms normal strings in HTML Forms (value="Peanut Butter") into "Peanut_Butter". So: what layer is responsible for this conversion? Is it the browser? what are the exact conversion rules, and is there a PHP function out there that will replicate that exact conversion? Thanks!

  I want to have a ModelForm that can create_or_update a model instance based on the request parameters. I've been trying to cobble something together, but am realizing that my python fu is not strong enough, and the ModelForm implementation code is a quite hairy. I found this create_or_update snipplet for working with a Model, but I think it would be incredibly useful if it were integrated with a ModelForm. I would expect it to behave similarly to ModelForm.save(): class BetterModelForm(forms.ModelForm): def init(self, *args, **kwargs) def create_or_update(self): #magic return (instance, created, updated) Conversely I'd also be interested in hearing compelling reasons why this is not a good idea.

• Use a push button to add a section in an InfoPath form?

  I'm working on an InfoPath form that's going to be run with InfoPath Forms Services on a SharePoint server. For a number of reasons -- mostly so that the customer can update the form without involving an administrator -- this can't be a form containing .NET code. The form has a repeating group, and we have users who are a bit confused as to how to add and delete items from the repeating section. I've looked all over the Internets, but haven't been able to find a way to do this without adding a code project to the form. Is there any way to write a rule or do something else to make a button that adds an item to a repeating section?

• C# Class Instantiation Overflow

  Scenario I have a C# Win Forms App, where the Main Form contains a loop that creates 3000 Instances of another form (Form B). Inside Form B there are a large number of properties and fields and a bunch of methods that do a fair amount of processing. Question Will the creation of 3000 of these classes give me problems? I'm thinking along the lines of memory exceptions? I've had 1 or 2 already, and I've also had an exception that says something along the lines of "Something went bang and this is usually a sign of corrupt memory somewhere else". Setup I'm using a DevExpress Ribbon Form and I haven't implemented Dispose on anything....Do I need to? Help greatly appreciated.

• Custom HTTP Request headers in HTML

  Does anyone know if its possible to send out custom http REQUEST headers in HTML without having to use javascript (no xhr wrapper). Would it be possible to define them as meta tags within the head? Or may they be defined in the form somewhere? <meta http-equip="x-something-custom" name="custom value" /> this works, however, this is a RESPONSE header. What I need to set a REQUEST header. I'm not looking for setting hidden fields in forms, but actual raw http header manipulation with html tags. Is this possible?

• Symfony2 : How to make the php_intl extension available for Symfony2?

  I'm trying to follow this documentation on Symfony : http://symfony.com/doc/current/book/forms.html ok so here is my thing, I've externalised my form and created a specific form class for handling the process and being able to reuse it. So what happen when I submit the form, whatever the info are okay or not for my class, I get this fatal Error : Fatal error: Call to a member function setAttribute() on a non-object in C:\Program Files (x86)\wamp\www\QNetworks\vendor\symfony\src\Symfony\Component\Form\Extension\Core\DataTransformer\NumberToLocalizedStringTransformer.php on line 130 Call Stack I'm running with php 5.3.9 and my intl extension is installed and activated BUT when I run the app/check.php command I see : [[WARNING]] Checking that the intl extension is available: FAILED * Install and enable the intl extension (used for validators) * So I don't understand what the problem with this extension. Should I reinstall it ? When I go here : http://php.net/manual/en/intl.requirements.php I see tht i can install the PECL or the ICU library, but i don't know if I should and if there is any relation with my problem .. • ASP.NET Dynamic form generation and submition

  I need to create a form where for each day in the month the user will enter in several different values (Im thinking a grid sort of thing, values along the top, day of the month along the side) using ASP.NET forms with C# backend... So what would be the best way to generate this form? I dont want to hardcode that many controls as it would make the submition a little annoying but i also would need to be able to give it values entered in previous days and have it display them in the textboxes. How would i go about creating this form and also how would i get the values from the textboxes in the backend?

  Hi guys, I'm using Delphi 4. I have a main form with a button that dynamically creates a new form. I'd like the new form to be visible, but shows up BEHIND the main form. I've tried calling SendToBack() immediately after FormCreate(). But that makes the window flicker quickly before it's actually sent to back. I've tried making the form invisible, then SentToBack(), then Visible := true. But the new form is still at the front. SendToBack() doesn't seem to work on invisible forms?? Any suggestions? Thanks!

• Replicate Printed Form With Web Form

  I'm hoping people have some ideas to help solve this problem. I am developing a C# ASP.NET website and the client requires an online form that users will fill in and submit. OK, so far so good..... Imagine, say, a form that you fill in on paper - they normally have a distinctive look specific to the company and will be filed, quite possibly as a legally binding document. I need to have an online form that when submitted emails the client with something they can print out and will look exactly like their printed forms. As this is web based, I think the option of capturing a screenshot are out the question, so I'm wondering how best to approach this? Even if I just had a form that captures the data presented how I want, how could I translate this data into the view they want? Any ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated.

• Client-side session timeout redirect in ASP.Net

  I want to build a way to automatically redirect users to Timeout.aspx when their session expires due to inactivity. My application uses forms authentication and relies heavily on update panels within the same aspx page for user interaction, so I don't want to simply redirect after a page-level timer expires. For the same reason, I can't use '<meta http-equiv="refresh"/>' What I want to do is create a simple ajax web service with a method called IsSessionTimedOut(), that simply returns a boolean. I will use a javascript timer to periodically call the method, and if it returns true, then redirect to Timeout.aspx. However, I don't want calling this method to reset the session timeout timer, or the session would never time out because of the service call. Is there a clean way to avoid this catch-22? Hopefully there is an easy solution that has so far eluded me.

• How can I access form elements when using an ASP.NET MVC Ajax form?

  I've got an ajax form in an MVC 2 application. I cannot find the proper way to access the form elements within the Ajax form decleration. I can access the name of the elements with Request.Form.Keys but I can't access the actual values. I've read numerous examples of posting forms with jQuery but my form has elements created dynamically based on route values (sometimes it could be 2 text boxes sometimes 10, given unique names like so: <%= Html.TextBox("Evaluation"+Model.EvaluationId.ToString())) so I couldn't find a way to make that work with jQuery. Is there another way that I for elements can be accessed?

• Solution to combine two submit buttons.. doing two different things from the same input

  I am trying to figure out how to combine two different forms, both require the same input but they do two different things. One form sends a request to the ecommerce platform to get the order status, and another form takes the same order number and returns a tracking code from USP or USPS. I am looking for some guidance on how I could combine these two actions.. one is currently using the POST method and the other GET. Here is an example .. so one is This one runs a validation script to confirm the order number is valid and then returns the order info if it is the second form is sending a get request to an asp file that is generating the proper tracking numbers. Can someone please point me to how I could begin to tackle this?

• POST data disapearing on large file upload

  I'm having issues with a file uploading utility in my PHP application. When sending large files (9MB+) over the form, I get a very odd behaviour: the POST data I've included in the form dissapears, including the file information. I've already increased all PHP limits I could (time limit, max input time, post max size, memory limit and upload max filesize) and I still can't get the proper behaviour. I've tried replacing the regular HTTP forms with a Flash-based solution (SWFUpload, www.swfupload.org), still the same behaviour. I've tried multiple files of similar sizes and its definitely not a particular file issue. I've debugged the POST vars sent using Firebug, and the correct variables are still there in the header, together with the file. What could be going on here?

The top panel should be able to hold up to 4 textboxes like this TextBox1 TextBox2 TextBox3 TextBox4 There WILL be atleast one TextBox. Maximum is 4. How do I create a TabPage with two panels where the top panel only takes up the real estate as needed(i.e only use up the real estate for one textbox or 2 textboxes, or 3 textboxes or the maximum 4 textboxes) and the rest of the tabpage is available for Panel2.

• On activate does not fire with my Modal/Pop-Up form to Requery

  I have a modal/pop-up form frmEditContact open on this form there is a combo box full of addressescmbAddressList, populated by a query. when the user wants to add an address that doesn't exist there is a button that opens the frmAddress where they may add an address. frmAddress allows them to enter an address to the list and gives the option to save, or cancel (both actions close the form after). with this form closed, the focus is now again on frmEditContact I would like to repopulate the combo box using docmd.Requery cmbAddressList after they close the other form I'm not sure where to handle this, I've tried On Avtivate, On Load, On Update, On Open, On Focus...but none of them fire as I keep the frmEditContact open when they are using the other form is there a way to keep frmEditContact open the whole time, but still an action Event that will fire so that I can Requery? And does On Activate not work with modal forms?

  I want to use auto-completion in a number of fields (5-7) in my forms. There is a screencast on auto-completion with Prototype library by Ryan Bates ( http://railscasts.com/episodes/102-auto-complete-association). On the other hand, I have noticed that quite many guys suggest jQuery for this task ( http://jquery.bassistance.de/autocomplete/demo/). And I guess, there was probably some development last year(s), so I ask you - what would you use nowadays to auto-complete your form fields and why? • Errors in Decimal Calcs within def clean method?

  I'm attempting a few simple calculations in a def clean method following validation (basically spitting out a euro conversion of retrieved uk product price on the fly). I keep getting a TypeError. Full error reads: Cannot convert {'product': , 'invoice': , 'order_discount': Decimal("0.00"), 'order_price': {...}, 'order_adjust': None, 'order_value': None, 'DELETE': False, 'id': 92, 'quantity': 8} to Decimal so I guess django is passing through the entire cleaned_data form to Decimal method. All the values are correct for icontact and if I submit the form as usual, icontact responds that it added the email address. The success message loads in a new page from icontact's website. What I'd like to accomplish is that ajax would send the form and returns a success message within the current page, without sending the customer to a new page.   I am working on a loan amortization schedule using Access, I have created the following tables: tblMembers - autoMemberID|txtLN|txtFN|etc tblLoans - autoLoanID|numMemberID|etc tblSchedules -autoScheduleID|numLoanID|numPayment#|datDue|dblBegin|...|dblEnd tblPayments - autoPaymID|numLoanID|curAmtPaid|datPaidDate and forms: frmLoans - autoLoanID|etc sbfSchedules - numPaymID|datDue|dblBegin|...|dblEnd sbfPayments - dblAmount|datPaid I have been able to generate the schedule (using DAO recordset) clicking a btnRepaymentSchedule the challenge is when I click a btnAddPayment still on the sbfSchedules, I want the value of the dblEnd field to be the value of the next record dblBegin field! I have tried using dlookup(txtBeginBalance = Dlookup("EndBalance", _ "Schedules","[ScheduleID] = Form![Schedules]![ScheduleID]-1) but there is no effect but if I use txtBeginBalance = txtEndBalance the value of txtEndBalance is assigned to the value of txtBeginBalance of the same record (want next record). Secondly, how can I set focus to the next record if a contro(txtAmountPaid) is not null on clicking the btnAddPayment or assigning the value of a calculation when the control is 0 or null ? Thanks

• Form authentication works on dev server but not on IIS

  Hi, We have a similar problem. We have a web application running under default appdomain. It was working fine until a week before...Suddenly it has encountered a problem. Below message is taken from event logs. Event code: 4005 Event message: Forms authentication failed for the request. Reason: The ticket supplied has expired. Application uses FormsAuthentication and gets the roles from aspnetdb.. After the error, when user logins to the page, it does not redirects to the default.aspx. Again login.aspx comes up. On the other hand application works fine on development server(localhost), but not on www(IIS 6.0). Does any one has an idea? Thanks, Ilknur

Back in the server side, my code doesn't know before hand how many such questions will be submitted.
