  I have a ASP .NET load balanced application (webservice and website). It runs on SQL server. I need to be able to provide large files for download. However, because of the load balancing situation, the files are stored in the SQL database as opposed to the file system. BITS seems to be the best approach. I have full control of the client. However, i don't know how to configure BITS to read the file from the database. I know how to write the C# code for that, but i don't know how to get BITS to hook into it as opposed to reading the file from the file system. Any ideas?

  Hi, I have an issue when reading properties from a dependent project. I have a core project, and my application has a dependency on it. under classpath of core, it has file core.properties. and my application need to read this property file, but it couldn't. It requires the core.properties in my classpath of my application, instead of core. Is there an solution for that? One solution in my mind is that when I build my application.war, can I explictly declare that I want the core dependency be exploded? Thanks for help!

  I'm using CL-Lex to implement a lexer (as input for CL-YACC) and my language has several keywords such as "let" and "in". However, while the lexer recognizes such keywords, it does too much. When it finds words such as "init", it returns the first token as IN, while it should return a "CONST" token for the "init" word. This is a simple version of the lexer: (define-string-lexer lexer (...) ("in" (return (values :in $@))) ("[a-z]([a-z]|[A-Z]|\_)" (return (values :const $@)))) How do I force the lexer to fully read the whole word until some whitespace appears?

  Hi All, i am getting a weird problem. i am using OLEDB for excel connection with connection string = Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\Execute.xls;Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;"); excel file contains columns with string/integer values. the problem is that sometimes connection read values from sheet absolutly fine but sometimes it missed out some data values and shows them as System.DBNull. the behavior is very inconsistent. please help.

  My application is basically a shell which expects an input of type cmd [x], where cmd is constant and x is optional. So cmd 1 is legal as well as cmd by itself - then I assume a default parameter for x. I am doing this: char cmd[64]; scanf("%s", cmd); int arg; scanf("%d", &arg); // but this should be optional How can I read the integer parameter, and set it to a default if none is currently available in the prompt? I do not want the prompt to wait for additional input if it was not given in the original command. I tried several versions using fgetc() and getchar() and comparing them to EOF but to no avail. Each version I tried ends up waiting on that optional integer parameter.

  I have several large word lists and I had been loading them in place in the code as follows: NSArray *dict3 = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"abled",@"about",@"above",@"absurd",@"absurdity", ... but now it is actually causing an exc_bad_access error weirdly, i know it seems implausible but for some reason IT IS causing it. (trust me on this I just spend the better part of a day debugging this crap) Anyway, I'm looking to get these humongous lines of code out of my files but I'm not sure what the best approach is. I guess I could do a plist but I need to figure out how to automate the process. it be easiest if I could just use the text files I've been compiling so if anyone knows how I can format the text file so that the myArray = [NSArray arrayWithContentsOfFile: @"myTextFile.txt"]; will be read in correctly as one word per element in the array it would really be appreciated.   Hello everyone One of my project is to download several large size files using ASIHTTPRequest in asynchronous mode. I hope to read the http returned header info to get the size of files. I know [request respsonseHeaders] (requestFinished: delegate method ) can do that. I tested and found that requestFinished: is only triggered when it completed the download of a whole single file. But I hope to access the function [request respsonseHeaders] before ASIHTTPRequest starting to download files (just when ASIHTTPRequest got the returned header info).   I have a bunch of Excel files which are updated on a daily basis on a Windows machine. I transfer them to a Ubuntu machine and want to open them there. Specifically, I want to read the files as a database under R. A couple years ago, I used ODBC under a Windows machine to open Excel files through R. Is there any way, I can do this with R under Ubuntu? I could make a database .ODB file for the corresponding XLS files using OpenOffice, but I don't know of a way to connect to a .ODB database. OpenOffice seems to have ways to connect TO databases, but no way to connect to ODB. Thanks for any potential solutions.

  I am building site on with Spring, Hibernate and Mysql. The mysql database contains information on coordinates and locations etc, it is never updated only queried. The database contains 15000 rows of coordinates and 48000 rows of coordinate connections. Every time a request is processed, the application needs to read all these coordinates which is taking approx 3-4 seconds. I would like to set up a cache, to allow quick access to the data. I'm researching memcached at the moment, can you please advise if this would be my best option?

  I need to be able to connect to an MDB-file in a LAMP-environment (running on Linux) and ultimately insert converted data into a Mysql db. The data I need to access is stored as a BLOB (Long Binary Data according to Access) in the MDB file. I have not yet been able to actually have a look at the data but I have been told that the BLOB consists of byte strings. Something along the lines of: 0x1c 0x10 0x27 0x00 0x00 I need to parse the byte strings and convert these to a format that is human readable. I do have access to the documentation that explains the various byte strings. So this is really two questions: How do a get access to the MDB file via PHP* (running under LAMP) and read the BLOB (I do not have access to a Windows-platform)? What would be the best way to parse the binary data (in PHP*) once I am able to connect to the MDB-file? *Or are there other methods/languages that are more appropriate?

  Some programs like ProcessExplorer are able to read strings in memory (for example, my error message written in the code could be displayed easily, even though it is compiled already). Imagine if I have a password string "123456" allocated sequentially in memory. What if hackers are able to get hold of the password typed by the user? Is there anyway to prevent strings from being seen so clearly? Oh yes, also, if I hash the password and sent it from client to server to compare the stored database hash value, won't the hacker be able to store the same hash and replay it to gain access to the user account? Is there anyway to prevent replaying? Thank You!

I've been playing with something like this let classesData = NSData .dataWithContentsOfMappedFile("path/to/classes.json"); And it finds the file (i.e. doesn't return nil) but I don't know how to manipulate and convert to JSON, the data returned. It isn't in a string format and String() isn't working on it.

• Adobe Air: Read and Write MP3 or JPG from local directory and switch bytes

  I would like to make my local jpg and mp3 files kind of unreadable (without encoding) by just putting the first 100 bytes from the beginning of the file to the end and then saving the file with a .dat extension. I know I have to use the byte array but can't get it work. I would also need then a small function to read that file and put the 100bytes back to the front so that I can play/display the file. It would be great if you could post the whole function because I am quite new to Air so that I fully understand. Thank You!!!!

I only found it on the svn directory, but there are no dlls.

I compile a simple program with gcc and if I see the section header using objdump, it does not show the section ".symtab". for the same a.out file, readelf shows the section. see the below snip - [25] .symtab SYMTAB 00000000 000ca4 000480 10 26 2c 4 [26] .strtab STRTAB 00000000 001124 00025c 00 0 0 1 Why ? In the default linker script I don't find a definition for .symtab section. If I add a definition by myself like in the linker script : .... PROVIDE(__start_sym) .symtab : { *(.symtab)} PROVIDE(__end_sym) .... the difference b/w the addresses of __start_sym and __end_sym is zero, which means no such section is added in the output file. But the readelf is able to read the section and dump the contents of this section .. How ? why ?
