  • pubsubhubbub link with Project Rome

    - by itsadok
I want to use Project Rome to create an RSS feed, using the code from the tutorial as base. I would like to add a pubsubhubbub discovery link, but there doesn't seem to be a general way to do so. I can use a Link object if I create an atom feed (which I don't want to limit myself to), or I can just add foreign markup, like this: // import org.jdom.Element Element element = new Element("link"); element.setAttribute("rel", "hub"); element.setAttribute("href", "https://myhub.example.com/endpoint"); feed.setForeignMarkup(Arrays.asList(element)); But it feels ugly. Is this really the best way to do this?

  • Are there any code libraries that validate/convert blog comments to XHTML strict?

    - by Matthew James Taylor
I am working on a website in PHP where people can make comments similar to a blog, and I only want particular tags to be allowed. Are there any pre-built libraries that process comments and produce valid XHTML Strict code? I would need to do this in JavaScript so I can generate a live preview like Stack Overflow, plus in PHP before saving it to a MySQL database. The allowed HTML tags will be: strong, em, blockquote, and links (rel=nofollow not required) One way would be to allow people to directly enter the HTML into the comment field but I would prefer to use a simple mark up something like this (can be different - this is an example): *strong* _em_ [blockquote] http://www.link.com I want line breaks to be converted to <br />. Are there any code libraries that do the above?

  • How to organized page specific CSS link tags with spark view pages and application.spark

    - by dbr
I'm currently using ASP.NET MVC 2 and the spark view engine. The main master page (application.spark) contains all of the CSS link tags that need to be present for all pages (global stuff). However, I have some content pages that have page specific CSS tags and currently I'm just sticking the link tag in the body as something like: <content name="MainContent"> <!-- page specific csss --> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/Content/css/page_specific.css" /> My problem is that when the page renders, this tag ends up in the which is not where it needs to be. Is there a solution for this? One idea I had was to check the controller in the Application.spark page and write out which page specific css file is required for that particular controller, however, that solution doesn't seem to scale well and I would imagine there is some way of creating the link in the child page and having it render where it's supposed to by the browser.

  • Bookmarklet fails in IE8

    - by songdogtech
Anyone want to take a stab at why this bookmarklet fails in IE8? It turns all text uppercase in Friefox and Safari. But in IE8, it simply stalls with "loading..." I'll admit I'm a beginner with Javascript: javascript:(function(){%20var%20i,t,D=document;for(i=0;t=D.getElementsByTagName ('textarea')[i];++i)t.value=t.value.toUpperCase();%20var%20newSS,styles='* {text-transform:uppercase}input,textarea{text-transform:none}';if(D.createStyleSheet) {D.createStyleSheet(%22javascript:'%22+styles+%22'%22);} else{newSS=D.createElement('link');newSS.rel='stylesheet'; newSS.href='data:text/css,'+escap e(styles);D.documentElement.childNodes[0].appendChild(newSS);}})()

  • How to style content in jQuery Facebox

    - by musoNic80
    I'm using jQuery Facebox plugin to create some modal windows. One situation is to display errors that might occur. If JS is disabled, I do this by displaying any errors in a normal div that is styled by CSS using a class selector. If the user does have JS enabled however, that div is hidden and the info is displayed in a facebox. The problem I have is that all the CSS styling is lost when the data is displayed within a facebox window. I understand that you can attach extra classes if you're calling facebox from a rel attribute in an anchor tag, but I'm using it programatically. Is there a way I can bind something to the facebox method? Here's my js code (the HTML should be self-explanatory): $(document).ready(function() { $(".errors").hide(); // hides the non-js error div $.errors = $(".errors").html(); // get the html from the error div if($.errors!==''){ $.facebox($.errors); // if there are any errors, display them in facebox } });

  • CSS file pathing problem

    - by Alan Harris-Reid
Hi there, When designing a HTML template in my favorite editor (TextPad at the moment) I can view my code in a browser by pressing F11 or the appropriate toolbar button. I have my common css rules in a separate file so my HTML contains the code: <link rel="stylesheet" href="commoncss.css" type="text/css"> This works when the .css file is in the same folder as the .html file, or if I fully path the .css file in the href property, eg. ///c:/mycssfolder/commoncss.css However, in a 'live' situation I want the .css file to reside in a common folder which is accessible from a number of .html files (eg. href='css/commoncss.css', where the css folder is configured at web-server level). How can I achieve this design vs. live dilemma without copying css file to all .html folders (and all the maintenance headaches that comes with it)? I am using Python 3.1 with Jinja2, but I guess this problem is applicable across any language and template-engine. Any help would be appreciated. Alan

  • Force jQuery to accept XHTML string as XML?

    - by MidnightLightning
So, as part of a baseline OpenID implementation in Javascript, I'm fetching a remote page source through AJAX, and looking for the <link rel="openid.server" href="http://www.example.com" /> tag in the head. I'm using the jQuery javascript library for the AJAX request, but am unable to parse out the link tags. Several other online sources talk about using the usual jQuery selectors to grab tags from XML/XHTML sources, but it seems jQuery can only get content from the body of an HTML document, not the head (which is where the link tags are; $(response).find('link') returns null). So, I'd either need to get jQuery to force this document into XML mode or otherwise get at the head tags. Is there a way to force jQuery to parse the response of an AJAX query as XML, when it's in reality XHTML? Or do I need to fall back to regular expressions to get the link tags out?

  • HTML/CSS - Website Help.

    - by gabeaudick
I'm trying to build my first website from scratch. I mocked up the design in Photoshop, and have been trying to convert into code for a few hours. But I haven't got far. In fact, I'm stuck on the header's navigation bar. It looks right, but it doesn't work. I'm using an unordered-inline list, and trying to link different rectangles in the header. I can't click on anything in the header, though. The code for the html and css files, and a mockup of the header, are below. Any advice on why the header bar isn't working would be much appreciated. • Rebinding jQuery qtip tooltip on images in bxcarousel

    - by skerit
I'm using bxcarousel to show a bunch of images. Each image has a tooltip, which I display using qtip. This works fine for the first round, but when the images come round a second time the tooltips don't show anymore (because bxcarousel removes an element that slides out and puts it back at the end) An example of the carousel can be found here: http://www.kipdola.be/carousel/carousel.html This is the code used to bind the events (maybe it needs a "live" function somewhere?) // Create the tooltips only on document load $(document).ready(function() { // Use the each() method to gain access to each elements attributes $('#shopcarousel a[rel]').each(function() { $(this).qtip(

  • ASP.NET MVC The new ActionLink with MvcHtmlString and request URL generated

    - by mare
This piece of code used to work in MVC 1 but it does not since I upgraded to MVC 2: <%=Html.ActionLink(Resources.Localize.Routes_WidgetsCreate, "Create" + "?modal=true", "Widget", null, new { rel = "shadowbox;height=600;width=700", title = Resources.Localize.Routes_WidgetsCreate })%> I am aware it has something to do with the way ActionLink encodes things, so the result that comes out is something like this: "http://localhost:53704/Widget/Create%3fmodal%3dtrue" The problem is, when clicked, the Shadowbox modal opens up and inside, where the request View should be rendered is this exception: Server Error in '/' Application. A potentially dangerous Request.Path value was detected from the client (?). What can I do to get past that? Do you recommend another way of sending params to the view besides in QueryString (in this case I need "modal" because in the view I select CSS styles based on whether we are rendering modal or not)?

  • How can a Firefox extension inject a local css file into a webpage?

I'm writing a Firefox extension that needs to inject a css file into webpages. If I try to load this css file from an external server, everything's fine. Is there are way to load a css file bundled with the extension?

  • Serving files inside of directories with ruby and mongrel

    - by AdamB
I made a simple web server in Ruby using the Mongrel gem. It works great for files in a single directory, but I run into some path issues when inside a directory. Lets say we have 2 files in a directory named "dir1", "index.html" and "style.css". If we visit http://host/dir1/index.html, the file is found, but style.css isn't because it's trying to load "style.css" from http://host/style.css instead of inside the directory. index.html is trying to load style.css as if its in the same directory as itself. <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> I can get the file if I enter the full path of style.css: /dir1/style.css but it doesn't seem to remember it's already inside a directory and that no path before a filename should serve from the current directory. This is the ruby code im using to serve out files. require 'rubygems' require 'mongrel' server = Mongrel::HttpServer.new("0.0.0.0", "3000") server.register("/", Mongrel::DirHandler.new(".")) server.run.join

When I try mmm libcore I end up with the following output: ============================================ PLATFORM_VERSION_CODENAME=REL PLATFORM_VERSION=2.1-update1 TARGET_PRODUCT=generic TARGET_BUILD_VARIANT=eng TARGET_SIMULATOR=false TARGET_BUILD_TYPE=release TARGET_ARCH=arm HOST_ARCH=x86 HOST_OS=linux HOST_BUILD_TYPE=release BUILD_ID=ECLAIR ============================================ make: Entering directory `/home/chris/android/platform' target Prebuilt: (out/target/product/generic/system/etc/security/cacerts.bks) host Prebuilt: run-core-tests-on-ri (out/host/linux-x86/obj/EXECUTABLES/run-core-tests-on-ri_intermediates/run-core-tests-on-ri) target Prebuilt: run-core-tests (out/target/product/generic/obj/EXECUTABLES/run-core-tests_intermediates/run-core-tests) Copy: out/target/product/generic/system/etc/apns-conf.xml Copying: out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/core_intermediates/classes-full-debug.jar Copying: out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/core-tests_intermediates/classes-full-debug.jar /bin/bash: jar: command not found make: *** [out/host/common/core-tests.jar] Error 127 make: *** Deleting file `out/host/common/core-tests.jar' make: Leaving directory `/home/chris/android/platform' Does anyone have any suggestions on what Error 127 is, or another method I can go about building "libcore" without having to build the entire platform again? Thanks, Chris
