  • Make an image transparent in IE to show non-transparent background

    Hi, I'm trying to get this thing to work in IE (any version - works in FF, Opera, Safari, Chrome ...): I have a DIV with a background-image. The DIV also contains an image that should be transparent onMouseOver. The expected behaviour now is that the DIV-background would shine through the transparent image (which it does in all browsers but IE). Instead it looks like the image is getting transparent but on a white background, I can't see the DIV's background through the image. Here's some code: <div><a href="#" class"dragItem"><img /></a></div> And some CSS: .dojoDndItemOver { cursor : pointer; filter : alpha(opacity = 50); opacity : 0.5; -moz-opacity : 0.5; -khtml-opacity : 0.5; } .dragItem:hover { filter : alpha(opacity = 30); opacity : 0.3; -moz-opacity : 0.3; -khtml-opacity : 0.3; background : none; } All of this is embedded in a Dojo Drag-n-Drop-system, so dojoDndItemOver will automatically be set to the DIV on MouseOver, dragItem is set to the href around the image (using the same class on the image directly doesn't work at all as IE doesn't support "hover" on other items that href). Any ideas? Or is it an IE-speciality to just "simulate" transparency on images by somehow just greying them out instead of providing real transparency and showing whatever is beneath?

    I'm running this C# code in Visual Studio in debug mode: public class MyHandlerFactory : IHttpHandlerFactory { private static Dictionary<string, bool> myDictionary = new Dictionary<string, bool>(); static MyHandlerFactory() { myDictionary.Add("someKey",true); myDictionary.Add("someKey",true); // fails due to duplicate key } } Outside of the static constructor, when I get to the line with the error Visual Studio highlights it and pops up a message about the exception. But in the static constructor I get no such message. I am stepping through line-by-line, so I know that I'm getting to that line and no further. Why is this? (I have no idea if that fact that my class implements IHttpHandlerFactory matters, but I included it just in case.) This is VS2005, .Net 2.0

  • Publishing my Website to my Local Disk Causes Exceptions to show Paths including my Local Disk

    I've published my website many times. But didn't think about this though until I came across this issue. So I decided to publish my WAP project to a local folder on my C drive first. Then used FTP to upload it to my shared host on discountasp.net. I noticed during runtime that the stack trace was referencing that local folder still and erroring out. Anyone know what config settings are affected when publishing? Obviously something is still pointing to my local C drive and I've searched my entire solution and don't see why.     Am trying to use OsmDroid with MapQuest maps downloaded from Mobile Atlas Creator. I followed all the instructions to generate the map tiles, upload them to the SDcard etc but when I run this on the device I get a screen with a bunch of empty boxes...   • C# - Getting a RawFraction Performance Counter to show a persistant value

    I've created a performance counter that shows a fraction of an incremeted value (RawFraction type) over a base value (RawBase). Unfortunately, when monitoring this value, it only shows the percentage when one of the counters is incremented. At all other times it it is sampled, it shows 0. Is there some way to tell the counter to hold onto the last value until the next time it needs to recalculate the fraction?

It can be smth like call graph profiling for 'penniless' (for people, who can't use any sort of advanced profiler). Yes, there are a lot of advanced profilers. For popular CPUs and for popular OSes. Shark is very impressive and easy to use, but I want to get a basic functionality with such script, working with gdb.

    Hi I'm new to Cocos2D but am having serious issues when trying to load a cocos scene in one of the UIViewControllers mixed with other normal UIKit UIViewControllers. My project uses a UITabBarController to manage four view controllers. Three are normal UIKit view controllers while one of them I want to use cocos2D for (to draw some sprites and animate them). The following is what I've done so far. In the applicationDidFinishLaunching method, I initialize cocos2D to use the window and take the first tabbarcontroller view: - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { if( ! Anyways, my question is whether there is a property on the WPF ListBox control which I can set that will automatically display the full text of a truncated list item into a Hint Tip? For example, with some WinForm list-container controls, the Hint Tip only appears when the mouse is hovered over a list item that is truncated.

    Hey, I am calling a bunch of posts under a certain post type in WordPress which works but I am trying to add a conditional that will check first if those post's custom meta field (labeled "disc") is equal to the current post's title.
