  • Layering of CSS with z-index

    I have a created a 3 circle venn diagram using pure CSS3 and each circle has a :hover event attached to it. I also have an image of an arrow which is pointing to the center of the venn diagram. I want the arrow to visually appear to be on top of the circles, so I put the z-index higher on the arrow than the circles. The problem now, is that the :hover event does not trigger on half of the venn diagram now because the arrow image is on top, which causes the hover to be on top of the arrow rather than the circle that I want it to be over. So is it possible to make an element have a high z-index visually but not programmatically?

    Let me start by saying I have looked at many similar questions asked, but all of them relate to Timestamp and DateTime field type without indexing. At least that is my understanding. As we all know, there are certain advantages when it comes to DateTime. Putting them aside for a minute, and assuming table's engine is InnoDB with 10+ million records, which query would perform faster when criteria is based on: DateTime with index int with index In other words, it is better to store date and time as DateTime or UNIX timestamp in int? Keep in mind there is no need for any built-in MySQL functions to be used.

The thing is that i want to check if an item is already cloned. If it is i want to stop it from being cloned again.     Here's the deal: I'm working on a personal portfolio in AS3 and I've run into a problem which I can't seem to find a logical answer to. I want everything (well, most of it) to be editable with an XML file, including my menu. My menu is just a Sprite with some text on it and a Tweener-tween, no big deal. But, I forgot to think of a way how I can determine which menu-item I have clicked. This is in my Main.as private function xmlLoaded(e:Event):void { xml = e.target.xml; menu = new Menu(xml); menu.x = 0; menu.y = stage.stageHeight / 2 - menu.height / 2; addChild(menu); } In Menu.as public function Menu(xml:XML) { for each (var eachMenuItem:XML in xml.menu.item) { menuItem = new MenuItem(eachMenuItem); menuItem.y += yPos; addChild(menuItem); yPos += menuItem.height + 3; } } and in my MenuItem.as, everything works - I have a fancy tween when I hover over it, but when I click a menu-item, I want something to appear ofcourse. How do I know which one I clicked? I've tried with pushing everything in an array, but that didn't work out well (or maybe I'm doing it wrong). Also tried a global counter, but that's not working either because the value will always be amount of items in my XML file. Also tried e.currentTarget in my click-function, but when I trace that, all of them are "Object Sprite".. I need something so I can give each a unique "name"? Thanks in advance!

So my requirements can't really be achieved by a datetime column. I could add a dummy identity int column, and cluster on that: CREATE TABLE Things ( ... RowID int IDENTITY(1,1), [timestamp] timestamp, CONSTRAINT [IX_Things] UNIQUE CLUSTERED (RowID) ) But you'll notice that my table already constains a timestamp column; a column which is guaranteed to be a monotonically increasing. This is exactly the characteristic I want for a candidate cluster key. So I cluster the table on the rowversion (aka timestamp) column: CREATE TABLE Things ( ... [timestamp] timestamp, CONSTRAINT [IX_Things] UNIQUE CLUSTERED (timestamp) ) Rather than adding a dummy identity int column (RowID) to ensure an order, I use what I already have. What I'm looking for are thoughts of why this is a bad idea; and what other ideas are better. Note: Community wiki, since the answers are subjective.

    hello there, gents. I'm an absolute beginner in linux, the CLI, as well as nginx and wordpress. i'm trying to make a 'coming soon' landing page that will take priority over the main wordpress installation i just set up. I want to make .html load before php, or get information on the Best Practices approach to this. I just now realized i could easily use the wordpress' generic "under construction" page and modify it. I'm sure it has one; i'm sure there's a plugin. Stats linode 1024 ubuntu 12.04 nginx 1.6.1 single wordpress installation (for now) set up using easyengine, but going to restart and configure nginx for my linode specifically probably. I managed to find one piece of instruction on how to change the httpd file to specify priority for apache 2, but did not find the same documentation for nginx. If it's not on the first page of google, then serverfault needs the question answered! Viva la Server Fault first page results!

    In an attemp to get rid of all the paper clutter that I receive each day, I started scanning and ORCing all my important documents last year. I was using Windows Desktop Search on Vista to index my "Administrative" folder in which I keep all these scanned documents, to be able to quickly retreive them when needed. I upgraded to Windows 7 RTM recently (I got the x64 Pro version, via the MSDN-AA channel of my university). Since then, it seems that the content of the PDFs is not indexed anymore. For example, I have the warranty for my GTX260 graphic card. In the PDF, using Acrobat Reader, I can search for the string "GTX260" and it finds the relevant lines. However, if I perform the same search in the folder containing the PDF, nothing is found. I checked in the indexing options, the folder is supposed to be indexed.

  • How to get Google Desktop to index searchable pdf's

    I've got a scanner that converts documents to pdfs. The pdf that gets produced is searchable. However when google desktop indexes the file it doesn't appear to be indexing any of the contents of the pdf (although it is indexing the content of other pdfs on the computer). I believe Google Desktop only indexes pdfs that are searchable and don't have images. Have others found a good way around this problem?
