  • Failure in Yahoo Authentication in Android

    - by Jayson Tamayo
    I'm trying to integrate Yahoo into my application. I want them to login using their Yahoo accounts because I will be needing their names later in the application. But whenever I request for a token, I receive the following errors: getRequestToken() Exception: oauth.signpost.exception.OAuthCommunicationException: Communication with the service provider failed: Service provider responded in error: 400 (Bad Request) Here is my code (Request_Token_Activity.java): import oauth.signpost.OAuth; import oauth.signpost.OAuthConsumer; import oauth.signpost.OAuthProvider; import oauth.signpost.commonshttp.CommonsHttpOAuthConsumer; import oauth.signpost.commonshttp.CommonsHttpOAuthProvider; import oauth.signpost.signature.HmacSha1MessageSigner; import android.app.Activity; import android.content.Intent; import android.content.SharedPreferences; import android.content.SharedPreferences.Editor; import android.net.Uri; import android.os.Bundle; import android.preference.PreferenceManager; import android.util.Log; public class Request_Token_Activity extends Activity { private OAuthConsumer consumer; private OAuthProvider provider; private SharedPreferences prefs; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); try { consumer = new CommonsHttpOAuthConsumer("my consumer key", "my consumer secret"); consumer.setMessageSigner(new HmacSha1MessageSigner()); provider = new CommonsHttpOAuthProvider( "http://api.login.yahoo.com/oauth/v2/get_request_token", "http://api.login.yahoo.com/oauth/v2/get_token", "http://api.login.yahoo.com/oauth/v2/request_auth"); } catch (Exception e) { Log.e("", "onCreate Exception: " + e.toString()); } getRequestToken(); } private void getRequestToken() { try { String url = provider.retrieveRequestToken(consumer, "yahooapi://callback"); Log.i("", "Yahoo URL: " + url); Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse(url)).setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_SINGLE_TOP | Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NO_HISTORY | Intent.FLAG_FROM_BACKGROUND); this.startActivity(intent); } catch (Exception e) { Log.i("", "getRequestToken() Exception: " + e.toString()); } } @Override public void onNewIntent(Intent intent) { super.onNewIntent(intent); prefs = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); final Uri uri = intent.getData(); if (uri != null && uri.getScheme().equals("yahooapi")) { getAccessToken(uri); } } private void getAccessToken(Uri uri) { final String oauth_verifier = uri.getQueryParameter(OAuth.OAUTH_VERIFIER); try { provider.retrieveAccessToken(consumer, oauth_verifier); final Editor edit = prefs.edit(); edit.putString("YAHOO_OAUTH_TOKEN", consumer.getToken()); edit.putString("YAHOO_OAUTH_TOKEN_SECRET", consumer.getTokenSecret()); edit.commit(); String token = prefs.getString("YAHOO_OAUTH_TOKEN", ""); String secret = prefs.getString("YAHOO_OAUTH_TOKEN_SECRET", ""); consumer.setTokenWithSecret(token, secret); Log.i("", "Yahoo OAuth Token: " + token); Log.i("", "Yahoo OAuth Token Secret: " + token); } catch (Exception e) { Log.i("", "getAccessToken Exception: " + e.toString()); } } } And this is a snapshot of my AndroidManifest.xml: <activity android:name="Request_Token_Activity" android:launchMode="singleTask"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE" /> <data android:scheme="yahooapi" android:host="callback" /> </intent-filter> </activity> I have set-up my Yahoo Project as a Web Application and put Read and Write access to Social and Contacts. What am I doing wrong?

  • NPE when drawing TabWidget in android (only on HTC Magic?)

    - by David Hedlund
    I've received report from the user of an app I've written that he gets FC whenever starting a certain activity. I have not been able to reproduce the issue on the emulator or on my HTC Hero (running 1.5), but this user running HTC Magic (with 1.6) is facing this error every time. What bothers me is that no single step in the stacktrace actually includes any code in my app (com.filmtipset) 01-07 00:10:26.773 I/ActivityManager( 141): Starting activity: Intent { cmp=com.filmtipset/.ViewMovie (has extras) } 01-07 00:10:27.023 D/AndroidRuntime( 2402): Shutting down VM 01-07 00:10:27.023 W/dalvikvm( 2402): threadid=3: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x4001e170) 01-07 00:10:27.023 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): java.lang.NullPointerException 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.widget.TabWidget.dispatchDraw(TabWidget.java:173) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.View.draw(View.java:6552) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1531) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.View.draw(View.java:6552) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.draw(PhoneWindow.java:1883) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewRoot.draw(ViewRoot.java:1332) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewRoot.performTraversals(ViewRoot.java:1097) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1613) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4320) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:791) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:549) 01-07 00:10:27.083 E/AndroidRuntime( 2402): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) Full dump here if I've missed anything of interest I'm guessing, then, that there might be something wrong with my layout. It's quite verbose, so I'm posting it here, rather than pasting the whole thing on SO. There is a tabwidget, where one tab is connected to the scrollview, svFilmInfo, and one to the linear layout llComments. The tab host is populated as such: Drawable commentSelector = getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.tabcomment); Drawable infoSelector = getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.tabinfo); mTabHost = getTabHost(); mTabHost.getTabWidget().setBackgroundColor(Color.BLACK); mTabHost.addTab(mTabHost.newTabSpec("tabInfo").setIndicator("Filminfo", infoSelector).setContent(R.id.svFilmInfo)); mTabHost.addTab(mTabHost.newTabSpec("tabInfo").setIndicator("Kommentarer", commentSelector).setContent(R.id.llComments)); Since I cannot reproduce the error myself, and since I cannot find any mention in the stack trace of what might be causing the error, I don't quite know where to start troubleshooting this. I'd appreciate any pointers.

  • There is an error in XML document... When calling to web service

    - by Sigurjón Guðbergsson
    I have created a web service and a function in it that should return a list of 11thousand records retreived from a pervasive database Here is my function in the web service. [WebService(Namespace = "http://tempuri.org/")] [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)] [System.ComponentModel.ToolboxItem(false)] public class BBI : System.Web.Services.WebService { [WebMethod] public List<myObject> getAll() { List<myObject> result = new List<myObject>(); PsqlConnection conn = new PsqlConnection("Host=soemthing;Port=something;Database=something;Encoding=IBM861"); conn.Open(); string strSql = "select 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 from something"; PsqlCommand DBCmd = new PsqlCommand(strSql, conn); PsqlDataReader myDataReader; myDataReader = DBCmd.ExecuteReader(); while (myDataReader.Read()) { myObject b = new myObject(); b.0 = Convert.ToInt32(myDataReader[0].ToString()); b.1 = myDataReader[1].ToString(); b.2 = myDataReader[2].ToString(); b.3 = myDataReader[3].ToString(); b.4 = myDataReader[4].ToString(); b.5 = myDataReader[5].ToString(); result.Add(b); } conn.Close(); myDataReader.Close(); return result; } } Then i add web reference to this web service in my client program and call the reference BBI.   • JavaMail SMTP credentials verification, without actually sending an email.

    - by DarK
    Hi, Is there a way to check user SMTP server credentials without sending email, or connecting to POP/IMAP. Some code I tried to write, fails at it. Can you find what is missing there. Don't worry about Email / password. I know it's there. NOTE : If you are trying out the code. The case 1 should pass when supplying the correct credentials. If it fails, then someone changed the password. You should use some other email address. import java.util.Properties; import javax.mail.Authenticator; import javax.mail.MessagingException; import javax.mail.PasswordAuthentication; import javax.mail.Session; import javax.mail.Transport; public class EmailTest { public static void main(String[] args) { EmailHelper eh = new EmailHelper(); /* GMail Setting for SMTP using STARTTLS */ String name = "AAA"; String email = "[email protected]"; String smtpHost = "smtp.gmail.com"; String serverPort = "587"; String requireAuth = "true"; String dontuseAuth = "false"; String userName = email; // same as username for GMAIL String password = "zaq12wsx"; String incorrectPassword = "someRandomPassword"; String enableSTARTTLS = "true"; String dontenableSTARTTLS = "false"; try { /* only valid case */ eh.sendMail(name, email, smtpHost, serverPort, requireAuth, userName, password, enableSTARTTLS); System.out.println("Case 1 Passed"); /* should fail since starttls is required for GMAIL. */ eh.sendMail(name, email, smtpHost, serverPort, requireAuth, userName, password, dontenableSTARTTLS); System.out.println("Case 2 Passed"); /* should fail since GMAIL requires authentication */ eh.sendMail(name, email, smtpHost, serverPort, dontuseAuth, "", "", dontenableSTARTTLS); System.out.println("Case 3 Passed"); /* should fail. password is incorrect and starttls is not enabled */ eh.sendMail(name, email, smtpHost, serverPort, requireAuth, userName, incorrectPassword, dontenableSTARTTLS); System.out.println("Case 4 Passed"); } catch (MessagingException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } class EmailHelper { private Properties properties = null; private Authenticator authenticator = null; private Session session = null; public void sendMail(String name, String email, String smtpHost, String serverPort, String requireAuth, String userName, String password, String enableSTARTTLS) throws MessagingException { properties = System.getProperties(); properties.put("mail.smtp.host", smtpHost); properties.put("mail.smtp.port", serverPort); properties.put("mail.smtp.starttls.enable", enableSTARTTLS); properties.put("mail.smtp.auth", requireAuth); properties.put("mail.smtp.timeout", 20000); authenticator = new SMTPAuthenticator(userName, password); session = Session.getInstance(properties, authenticator); // session.setDebug(true); Transport tr = session.getTransport("smtp"); tr.connect(); /* * do I need more than just connect? • Unable to connect SQL Server instance from Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0

    - by salvationishere
    I am getting the below error from VS on an 32-bit XP Professional server even though I set Tools-Options-Database Tools-Data Connections to "SIDEKICK", which is the name of my computer. In other words SIDEKICK should default to the full SQLSERVER. In other words, I want VS to use SQLSERVER instead of SQLSERVER EXPRESS. And I can clearly see my database both from VS in the Server Explorer and also in SSMS 2008. Furthermore, I can view the tables of this database in Server Explorer from VS. I do not get any build errors. And it looks like all of the naming is consistent in my web.config file. I am developing my website according to a Microsoft tutorial, so I should not be getting an error. Yet I get the following exception when I run this code below: CreateAccounts.aspx.cs file protected void CreateAccountButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { MembershipCreateStatus createStatus; //This line below is where the exception occurs MembershipUser newUser = Membership.CreateUser(Username.Text, Password.Text, Email.Text, passwordQuestion, SecurityAnswer.Text, true, out createStatus); And here is what the exception looks like: System.Web.HttpException was unhandled by user code Message="Unable to connect to SQL Server database." • Java Applet Deployment, ClassNotFoundException (primary class)

    - by Matt
    This is driving me up the wall. I have checked and rechecked spelling and paths. I have tried just about every combination of paths, including relative, absolute, and full http paths. I continue to get the following error when trying to load a Java applet: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: AppletClient.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2ClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: AppletClient.class The HTML used to load the applet: <applet width="100" height="100" archive="applet/myapplet.jar, applet/applet_dependency.jar" code="AppletClient.class"> <param value="blahblah" name="username"> <param value="false" name="codebase_lookup"> </applet> The applet is in a relative directory, "applet", from the path of the current page. I have unzipped the jar file and can see AppletClient.class. Also, in the source of the project, it is spelled that way (casing and all). I have tried with/without the parameters. I have changed the names of the archive jars in the applet include tag just to see if I get a different error for bad file names (same error). I have manually done GETs on the jars to make sure the server is responding to the requests (it is). I have tried with and without the codebase tag, with all different varieties of paths (start getting bad "magic number" errors on those). I know that this error sometimes pops up when a dependency fails to load, so it can be misleading, but all dependencies are present, accounted for, and are fetchable via manual GETs. Between each and every attempt I always clear my cache in FireFox. These problems are reproduced in IE8 and Chrome as well. Per my Java Console from the browser, I am running Java Plug-in 1.6.0_20. This is from the same machine that I develop the applet on, which runs fine via Eclipse. Finally, I kicked on Fiddler2, and I don't see a single request for the jar files anywhere The host site is running from my Visual Studio debugger, so it's running on localhost. But I see the requests for all the other resources on Fiddler. Just... no Jars. ANYWHERE. I clear the log, cleared my browser cache, and did a ctrl-R refresh. And still, not a single Jar request on the Fiddler log. I even did a delayed write (with JS) of the applet tag after the page loaded, once all the Fiddler activity slowed down. The element gets written to the document (and I can see the 100x100 Java error window), but not a single request shows up on Fiddler. Any suggestions, before I go crawl into the corner and cry myself to sleep? EDIT: From the Java console, if I hit "l" (el) to "dump classloader list", I see something that looks like this: Live entry: key=http://localhost:55446/BaseWebSite/,http://localhost:55446/BaseWebSite/applet/myappliet.jar, http://localhost:55446/BaseWebSite/applet/applet_dependency.jar, refCount=1, threadGroup=sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ThreadGroup[name=http://localhost:55446/BaseWebSite/-threadGroup,maxpri=4]

  • Right code to retrieve data from sql server database

  • How do I solve "Two different CRTLDLLs are loaded" when using packages in C++ Builder 2010?

    - by David M
    Hi, We are trying to split up our monolithic EXE into a combination of an EXE and several packages. So far, we have one package that we're trying to use, and when running the EXE Codeguard shows the following error on startup: CG Error Two different CRTLDLLs are loaded. CG might report false errors (C:\Windows\system32\CC32100MT.DLL) (D:\Projects\Foo\Bar.bpl) OK I read this as two different runtime libraries being loaded - one, the correct one (CC32100MT.dll), one incorrect, which is the package we're trying to use. Continuing to run the program shows odd errors, especially casting between classes or passing a pointer to a class as a parameter in a method that crosses the EXE/DLL boundary. Codeguard itself doesn't show any other errors at all though. How do we solve this? Some more details We've looked at as many things as we (the developer working on this and I) can collectively think of: Each project is built using runtime packages. The EXE host lists Bar in its package list. Each project is set to compile with dynamic RTL. However, changing this does not solve the problem. The package is linked to the EXE via its BPI file, but linking via a LIB makes no difference either. The EXE and BPL are compiled with the same project settings, where the same options exist for both types of project. We think, anyway :) There is only one copy of the BPL and BPI on the system: it's definitely linking to the right one. Examining the EXE and BPL with Depends and TDump show they are both using C:\Windows\system32\CC32100MT.DLL. They should both be using the one RTL. Creating a new project (a plain VCL forms application) and linking to the BPL (via its BPI) works fine. Something in the process of adding all the files and LIBs that make our EXE contain the code it needs to changes this, but we haven't been able to figure out what. The LIBs all either correspond to DLLs we use (flat C interface, usually look as though they were built with MSVC) or are simple projects with lots of related files, compiled to a lib for the purpose of linking into the EXE - these correspond roughly to the areas of the program we want to split to BPLs, by the way. There don't seem to be project options for the LIB projects that would affect RTL linking, unless we've missed them. I have exhaustively hunted through Depends and looked at all RTL and CC32*.dll files the EXE and every single DLL references. All are identical: rtl140.bpl and CC32100MT.DLL. Fully qualified paths show they are the same files, too. Everything should be using the one same run-time library. We're stumped. Absolutely stumped. We've had other problems using BPLs (they seem to be surprisingly tricky things, especially using C++) but have managed to solve them all. This one we've had no luck at all and we'd really appreciate any insights :) We're using C++Builder 2010 (as part of RAD Studio actually, but with little Delphi code apart from components.)

  • Why doesn't my QsciLexerCustom subclass work in PyQt4 using QsciScintilla?

    - by Jon Watte
    My end goal is to get Erlang syntax highlighting in QsciScintilla using PyQt4 and Python 2.6. I'm running on Windows 7, but will also need Ubuntu support. PyQt4 is missing the necessary wrapper code for the Erlang lexer/highlighter that "base" scintilla has, so I figured I'd write a lightweight one on top of QsciLexerCustom. It's a little bit problematic, because the Qsci wrapper seems to really want to talk about line+index rather than offset-from-start when getting/setting subranges of text. Meanwhile, the lexer gets arguments as offset-from-start. For now, I get a copy of the entire text, and split that up as appropriate. I have the following lexer, and I apply it with setLexer(). It gets all the appropriate calls when I open a new file and sets this as the lexer, and prints a bunch of appropriate lines based on what it's doing... but there is no styling in the document. I tried making all the defined styles red, and the document is still stubbornly black-on-white, so apparently the styles don't really "take effect" What am I doing wrong? If nobody here knows, what's the appropriate discussion forum where people might actually know these things? (It's an interesting intersection between Python, Qt and Scintilla, so I imagine the set of people who would know is small) Let's assume prefs.declare() just sets up a dict that returns the value for the given key (I've verified this -- it's not the problem). Let's assume scintilla is reasonably properly constructed into its host window QWidget. Specifically, if I apply a bundled lexer (such as QsciLexerPython), it takes effect and does show styled text. prefs.declare('font.name.margin', "MS Dlg") prefs.declare('font.size.margin', 8) prefs.declare('font.name.code', "Courier New") prefs.declare('font.size.code', 10) prefs.declare('color.editline', "#d0e0ff") class LexerErlang(Qsci.QsciLexerCustom): def __init__(self, obj = None): Qsci.QsciLexerCustom.__init__(self, obj) self.sci = None self.plainFont = QtGui.QFont() self.plainFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.plainFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.code')) self.marginFont = QtGui.QFont() self.marginFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.marginFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.margin')) self.boldFont = QtGui.QFont() self.boldFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.boldFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.code')) self.boldFont.setBold(True) self.styles = [ Qsci.QsciStyle(0, QtCore.QString("base"), QtGui.QColor("#000000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.plainFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(1, QtCore.QString("comment"), QtGui.QColor("#008000"), QtGui.QColor("#eeffee"), self.marginFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(2, QtCore.QString("keyword"), QtGui.QColor("#000080"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.boldFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(3, QtCore.QString("string"), QtGui.QColor("#800000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.marginFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(4, QtCore.QString("atom"), QtGui.QColor("#008080"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.plainFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(5, QtCore.QString("macro"), QtGui.QColor("#808000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.boldFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(6, QtCore.QString("error"), QtGui.QColor("#000000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffd0d0"), self.plainFont, True), ] print("LexerErlang created") def description(self, ix): for i in self.styles: if i.style() == ix: return QtCore.QString(i.description()) return QtCore.QString("") def setEditor(self, sci): self.sci = sci Qsci.QsciLexerCustom.setEditor(self, sci) print("LexerErlang.setEditor()") def styleText(self, start, end): print("LexerErlang.styleText(%d,%d)" % (start, end)) lines = self.getText(start, end) offset = start self.startStyling(offset, 0) print("startStyling()") for i in lines: if i == "": self.setStyling(1, self.styles[0]) print("setStyling(1)") offset += 1 continue if i[0] == '%': self.setStyling(len(i)+1, self.styles[1]) print("setStyling(%)") offset += len(i)+1 continue self.setStyling(len(i)+1, self.styles[0]) print("setStyling(n)") offset += len(i)+1 def getText(self, start, end): data = self.sci.text() print("LexerErlang.getText(): " + str(len(data)) + " chars") return data[start:end].split('\n') Applied to the QsciScintilla widget as follows: _lexers = { 'erl': (Q.SCLEX_ERLANG, LexerErlang), 'hrl': (Q.SCLEX_ERLANG, LexerErlang), 'html': (Q.SCLEX_HTML, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'css': (Q.SCLEX_CSS, Qsci.QsciLexerCSS), 'py': (Q.SCLEX_PYTHON, Qsci.QsciLexerPython), 'php': (Q.SCLEX_PHP, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'inc': (Q.SCLEX_PHP, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'js': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerJavaScript), 'cpp': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'h': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'cxx': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'hpp': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'c': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'hxx': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'tpl': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'xml': (Q.SCLEX_XML, Qsci.QsciLexerXML), } ... inside my document window class ... def addContentsDocument(self, contents, title): handler = self.makeScintilla() handler.title = title sci = handler.sci sci.append(contents) self.tabWidget.addTab(sci, title) self.tabWidget.setCurrentWidget(sci) self.applyLexer(sci, title) EventBus.bus.broadcast('command.done', {'text': 'Opened ' + title}) return handler def applyLexer(self, sci, title): (language, lexer) = language_and_lexer_from_title(title) if lexer: l = lexer() print("making lexer: " + str(l)) sci.setLexer(l) else: print("setting lexer by id: " + str(language)) sci.SendScintilla(Qsci.QsciScintillaBase.SCI_SETLEXER, language) linst = sci.lexer() print("lexer: " + str(linst)) def makeScintilla(self): sci = Qsci.QsciScintilla() sci.setUtf8(True) sci.setTabIndents(True) sci.setIndentationsUseTabs(False) sci.setIndentationWidth(4) sci.setMarginsFont(self.smallFont) sci.setMarginWidth(0, self.smallFontMetrics.width('00000')) sci.setFont(self.monoFont) sci.setAutoIndent(True) sci.setBraceMatching(Qsci.QsciScintilla.StrictBraceMatch) handler = SciHandler(sci) self.handlers[sci] = handler sci.setMarginLineNumbers(0, True) sci.setCaretLineVisible(True) sci.setCaretLineBackgroundColor(QtGui.QColor(prefs.get('color.editline'))) return handler Let's assume the rest of the application works, too (because it does :-)

  • MySQL access classes in PHP

    - by Mike
    I have a connection class for MySQL that looks like this: class MySQLConnect { private $connection; private static $instances = 0; function __construct() { if(MySQLConnect::$instances == 0) { //Connect to MySQL server $this->connection = mysql_connect(MySQLConfig::HOST, MySQLConfig::USER, MySQLConfig::PASS) or die("Error: Unable to connect to the MySQL Server."); MySQLConnect::$instances = 1; } else { $msg = "Close the existing instance of the MySQLConnector class."; die($msg); } } public function singleQuery($query, $databasename) { mysql_select_db(MySQLConfig::DB, $this->connection) or die("Error: Could not select database " . MySQLConfig::DB . " from the server."); $result = mysql_query($query) or die('Query failed.'); return $result; } public function createResultSet($query, $databasename) { $rs = new MySQLResultSet($query, MySQLConfig::DB, $this->connection ) ; return $rs; } public function close() { MySQLConnect::$instances = 0; if(isset($this->connection) ) { mysql_close($this->connection) ; unset($this->connection) ; } } public function __destruct() { $this->close(); } } The MySQLResultSet class looks like this: class MySQLResultSet implements Iterator { private $query; private $databasename; private $connection; private $result; private $currentRow; private $key = 0; private $valid; public function __construct($query, $databasename, $connection) { $this->query = $query; //Select the database $selectedDatabase = mysql_select_db($databasename, $connection) or die("Error: Could not select database " . $this->dbname . Could anybody recommend an alternative method if it is bad? Thank-you.

  • Form values appear blank when submitting to the database - Drupal FormAPI

    - by GaxZE
    Hello, I have been working on this drupal form API script for past week and half. to give an insight into my problem.. the form below merely lists a host of database records which contain 5 individual scoring ranks. (mind, action, relationship, language and IT). this code is apart of my own custom module where all values are listed from the database. the idea behind this module is to be able to edit these values on a large scale. I am having trouble getting the values entered in the form to be passed to the variables inside of the marli_admin_submit function. the second problem is the assigning those values to their specific ID. for this purpose id like to add im merely trying to get just one score updated rather than all of them. below is my code. any advice appreciated. function marli_scores(){ $result = pager_query(db_rewrite_sql('SELECT * FROM marli WHERE value != " "')); while ($node = db_fetch_object($result)) { $attribute = $node->attribute; $field = $node->field_name; $item = $node->value; $mind = $node->mind; $action = $node->action; $relationship = $node->relationship; $language = $node->language; $it = $node->it; $form['field'][$node->marli_id] = array('#type' => 'markup', '#value' => $field, '#prefix' => '<b>', '#suffix' => '</b>'); $form['title'][$node->marli_id] = array('#type' => 'markup', '#value' => $item, '#prefix' => '<b>', '#suffix' => '</b>'); $form['mind'][$node->marli_id] = array('#type' => 'textfield', '#maxlength' => '1', '#size' => '1', '#value' => $mind); $form['action'][$node->marli_id] = array('#type' => 'textfield', '#maxlength' => '1', '#size' => '1', '#value' => $action); $form['relationship'][$node->marli_id] = array('#type' => 'textfield', '#maxlength' => '1', '#size' => '1', '#value' => $relationship); $form['language'][$node->marli_id] = array('#type' => 'textfield', '#maxlength' => '1', '#size' => '1', '#value' => $language); $form['it'][$node->marli_id] = array('#type' => 'textfield', '#maxlength' => '1', '#size' => '1', '#value' => $it); } $form['pager'] = array('#value' => theme('pager', NULL, 50, 0)); $form['save'] = array('#type' => 'submit', '#value' => t('Save')); $form['#theme'] = 'marli_scores'; return $form; } function marli_admin_submit($form, &$form_state) { $marli_id = 4; $submit_mind = $form_state['values']['mind'][$marli_id]; $submit_action = $form_state['values']['action'][$marli_id]; $submit_relationship = $form_state['values']['relationship'][$marli_id]; $submit_language = $form_state['values']['language'][$marli_id]; $submit_it = $form_state['values']['it'][$marli_id]; $sql_query = "UPDATE {marli} SET mind = %d, action = %d, relationship = %d, language = %d, it = %d WHERE marli_id = %d"; if ($success = db_query($sql_query, $submit_mind, $submit_action, $submit_relationship, $submit_language, $submit_it)) { drupal_set_message(t(' Values have been saved.')); } else { drupal_set_message(t('There was an error saving your data.   • Internet Explorer background-color hover problem

    - by danilo
    I have a strange Problem with table formating using IE 7. My table looks like this: In IE, when using border-collapse, the borders don't get displayed correctly. That's why I used this fix: .table-vmlist td { border-top: 1px solid black; } td.col-vm-status, tr.row-details td { border-left: 1px solid black; } td.col-vm-rdp, tr.row-details td { border-right: 1px solid black; } .table-vmlist { border-bottom: 1px solid black;} When hovering over the row, it gets highlighted with CSS: .table-vmlist tr.row-vm { background-color: #A4C3EF; } .table-vmlist tr.row-vm:hover { background-color: #91BAEF; } Now, in IE 7, when moving the mouse from the top to the bottom of the list, every row gets highlighted correctly and no problems happen. But if I move my mouse pointer from the bottom of the list to the top, every second row seems to loose the border. Can someone explain what the problem is, and how to solve it? This is my markup: <tr class="row-vm"> <td class="col-vm-status status-1"><img title="Host Down" alt="Down" src="/Technik/vm-management/img/hoststatus_1.png"></td> <td class="col-vm-name">V1-VM-1</td> <td class="col-vm-stati"> <img title="Ping" alt="Ping status" src="/Technik/vm-management/img/servicestatus_3.png"> <img title="CPU" alt="CPU status" src="/Technik/vm-management/img/servicestatus_3.png"> <img title="RAM" alt="RAM status" src="/Technik/vm-management/img/servicestatus_3.png"> <img title="C:\ Diskspace" alt="Disk space status" src="/Technik/vm-management/img/servicestatus_3.png"> </td> <td class="col-vm-owner">kus</td> <td class="col-vm-purpose">Citrix Testserver</td> <td class="col-vm-ip">-</td> <td class="col-vm-uptime">-</td> <td class="col-vm-rdp">&nbsp;</td> </tr> And the CSS: /* VM-Tabelle formatieren */ .table-vmlist { border-collapse: collapse; } .table-vmlist tr { border: 1px solid black; } .table-vmlist tr.row-header { border: none; } .table-vmlist tr.row-vm { background-color: #A4C3EF; } .table-vmlist tr.row-vm:hover { background-color: #91BAEF; } .table-vmlist th { text-align: left; } .table-vmlist td { } .table-vmlist th, table td { padding: 2px 0px; } /* Spaltenbreite der VM-Tabelle festlegen */ .table-vmlist #col-status { width: 25px; } .table-vmlist #col-stati { width: 90px; } .table-vmlist #col-owner { width: 90px; } .table-vmlist #col-ip { width: 100px; } .table-vmlist #col-uptime { width: 70px; } .table-vmlist #col-rdp { width: 25px; } .table-vmlist tr.row-details td { padding: 0px 10px; } /* Kein Rahmen um verlinkte Bilder */ a img { border-width: 0px; } /* Für Einschaltknopf Hand-Cursor anstatt normalen Pfeil anzeigen */ td.status-1 img { cursor: pointer; } img.ajax-loader { margin-left: 2px; } IE fix: .table-vmlist td { border-top: 1px solid black; } td.col-vm-status, tr.row-details td { border-left: 1px solid black; } td.col-vm-rdp, tr.row-details td { border-right: 1px solid black; } .table-vmlist { border-bottom: 1px solid black;}

  • Unit testing authorization in a Pylons app fails; cookies aren't been correctly set or recorded

    - by Ian Stevens
    I'm having an issue running unit tests for authorization in a Pylons app. It appears as though certain cookies set in the test case may not be correctly written or parsed. Cookies work fine when hitting the app with a browser. Here is my test case inside a paste-generated TestController: def test_good_login(self): r = self.app.post('/dologin', params={'login': self.user['username'], 'password': self.password}) r = r.follow() # Should only be one redirect to root assert 'http://localhost/' == r.request.url assert 'Dashboard' in r This is supposed to test that a login of an existing account forwards the user to the dashboard page. Instead, what happens is that the user is redirected back to the login. The first POST works, sets the user in the session and returns cookies. Although those cookies are sent in the follow request, they don't seem to be correctly parsed. I start by setting a breakpoint at the beginning of the above method and see what the login response returns: > nosetests --pdb --pdb-failure -s foo.tests.functional.test_account:TestMainController.test_good_login Running setup_config() from foo.websetup > /Users/istevens/dev/foo/foo/tests/functional/test_account.py(33)test_good_login() -> r = self.app.post('/dologin', params={'login': self.user['username'], 'password': self.password}) (Pdb) n > /Users/istevens/dev/foo/foo/tests/functional/test_account.py(34)test_good_login() -> r = r.follow() # Should only be one redirect to root (Pdb) p r.cookies_set {'auth_tkt': '"4c898eb72f7ad38551eb11e1936303374bd871934bd871833d19ad8a79000000!"'} (Pdb) p r.request.environ['REMOTE_USER'] '4bd871833d19ad8a79000000' (Pdb) p r.headers['Location'] 'http://localhost/?__logins=0' A session appears to be created and a cookie sent back. The browser is redirected to the root, not the login, which also indicates a successful login. If I step past the follow(), I get: > /Users/istevens/dev/foo/foo/tests/functional/test_account.py(35)test_good_login() -> assert 'http://localhost/' == r.request.url (Pdb) p r.request.headers {'Host': 'localhost:80', 'Cookie': 'auth_tkt=""\\"4c898eb72f7ad38551eb11e1936303374bd871934bd871833d19ad8a79000000!\\"""; '} (Pdb) p r.request.environ['REMOTE_USER'] *** KeyError: KeyError('REMOTE_USER',) (Pdb) p r.request.environ['HTTP_COOKIE'] 'auth_tkt=""\\"4c898eb72f7ad38551eb11e1936303374bd871934bd871833d19ad8a79000000!\\"""; ' (Pdb) p r.request.cookies {'auth_tkt': ''} (Pdb) p r <302 Found text/html location: http://localhost/login?__logins=1&came_from=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2F body='302 Found...y. '/149> This indicates to me that the cookie was passed in on the request, although with dubious escaping. The environ appears to be without the session created on the prior request. The cookie has been copied to the environ from the headers, but the cookies in the request seems incorrectly set. Lastly, the user is redirected to the login page, indicating that the user isn't logged in. Authorization in the app is done via repoze.who and repoze.who.plugins.ldap with repoze.who_friendlyform performing the challenge. I'm using the stock tests.TestController created by paste: class TestController(TestCase): def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): if pylons.test.pylonsapp: wsgiapp = pylons.test.pylonsapp else: wsgiapp = loadapp('config:%s' % config['__file__']) self.app = TestApp(wsgiapp) url._push_object(URLGenerator(config['routes.map'], environ)) TestCase.__init__(self, *args, **kwargs) That's a webtest.TestApp, by the way. The encoding of the cookie is done in webtest.TestApp using Cookie: >>> from Cookie import _quote >>> _quote('"84533cf9f661f97239208fb844a09a6d4bd8552d4bd8550c3d19ad8339000000!"') '"\\"84533cf9f661f97239208fb844a09a6d4bd8552d4bd8550c3d19ad8339000000!\\""' I trust that that's correct. My guess is that something on the response side is incorrectly parsing the cookie data into cookies in the server-side request. But what? Any ideas?

  • TDD - beginner problems and stumbling blocks

    - by Noufal Ibrahim
    While I've written unit tests for most of the code I've done, I only recently got my hands on a copy of TDD by example by Kent Beck. I have always regretted certain design decisions I made since they prevented the application from being 'testable'. I read through the book and while some of it looks alien, I felt that I could manage it and decided to try it out on my current project which is basically a client/server system where the two pieces communicate via. USB. One on the gadget and the other on the host. The application is in Python. I started off and very soon got entangled in a mess of rewrites and tiny tests which I later figured didn't really test anything. I threw away most of them and and now have a working application for which the tests have all coagulated into just 2. Based on my experiences, I have a few questions which I'd like to ask. I gained some information from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1146218/new-to-tdd-are-there-sample-applications-with-tests-to-show-how-to-do-tdd but have some specific questions which I'd like answers to/discussion on. Kent Beck uses a list which he adds to and strikes out from to guide the development process. How do you make such a list? I initially had a few items like "server should start up", "server should abort if channel is not available" etc. but they got mixed and finally now, it's just something like "client should be able to connect to server" (which subsumed server startup etc.). How do you handle rewrites? I initially selected a half duplex system based on named pipes so that I could develop the application logic on my own machine and then later add the USB communication part. It them moved to become a socket based thing and then moved from using raw sockets to using the Python SocketServer module. Each time things changed, I found that I had to rewrite considerable parts of the tests which was annoying. I'd figured that the tests would be a somewhat invariable guide during my development. They just felt like more code to handle. I needed a client and a server to communicate through the channel to test either side. I could mock one of the sides to test the other but then the whole channel wouldn't be tested and I worry that I'd miss that. This detracted from the whole red/green/refactor rhythm. Is this just lack of experience or am I doing something wrong? The "Fake it till you make it" left me with a lot of messy code that I later spent a lot of time to refactor and clean up. Is this the way things work? At the end of the session, I now have my client and server running with around 3 or 4 unit tests. It took me around a week to do it. I think I could have done it in a day if I were using the unit tests after code way. I fail to see the gain. I'm looking for comments and advice from people who have implemented large non trivial projects completely (or almost completely) using this methodology. It makes sense to me to follow the way after I have something already running and want to add a new feature but doing it from scratch seems to tiresome and not worth the effort. P.S. : Please let me know if this should be community wiki and I'll mark it like that. Update 0 : All the answers were equally helpful. I picked the one I did because it resonated with my experiences the most. Update 1: Practice Practice Practice!

  • Node.js, Cygwin and Socket.io walk into a bar... Node.js throws ENOBUFS and everyone dies...

    - by A Wizard Did It
    I'm hoping someone here can help me out, I'm not having much luck figuring this out myself. I'm running node.js version 0.3.1 on Cygwin. I'm using Connect and Socket.io. I seem to be having some random problems with DNS or something, I haven't quite figured it out. The end result is that I the server is running fine, but when a browser attempts to connect to it the initial HTTP Request works, Socket.io connects, and then the server dies (output below). I don't think it has anything to do with the HTTP request because the server gets a lot data posted to it, and it was receiving requests and responding up until my connection that killed it. I've googled around and the closest thing I've found is DNS being set improperly. It's a network program meant to run only on an internal network, so I've set the nameserver x.x.x.x in my /etc/resolv.conf to the internal DNS. I've also added nameserver 8.8.8.8 in addition. I'm not sure what else to check, but would be grateful of any help. I've edited the source to include && errno != ENOBUFS which now prevents the server from dying, however now the LDAP request isn't working. I'm not sure what the problem is that would cause that though. As I mentioned this is an internal only application, so I set the DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf to the DNS servers that are being applied to the host machine. Not sure if this is part of the issue? EDIT 2 Here's some output from gdb --args ./node_g --debug ../myscript.js. • What's a clean way to have the server return a JavaScript function which would then be invoked?

    - by Khnle
    My application is architected as a host of plug-ins that have not yet been written. There's a long reason for this, but with each new year, the business logic will be different and we don't know what it will be like (Think of TurboTax if that helps). The plug-ins consist of both server and client components. The server components deals with business logic and persisting the data into database tables which will be created at a later time as well. The JavaScript manipulates the DOM for the browsers to render afterward. Each plugin lives in a separate assembly, so that they won't disturb the main application, i.e., we don't want to recompile the main application. Long story short, I am looking for a way to return JavaScript functions to the client from an Ajax get request, and execute these JavaScript functions (which are just returned). Invoking a function in Javascript is easy. The hard part is how to organize or structure so that I won't have to deal with maintenance problem. So concat using StringBuilder to end up with JavaScript code as a result of calling toString() from the string builder object is out of the question. I want to have no difference between writing JavaScript codes normally and writing Javascript codes for this dynamic purpose. An alternative is to manipulate the DOM on the server side, but I doubt that it would be as elegantly as using jQuery on the client side. I am open for a C# library that supports chainable calls like jQuery that also manipulates the DOM too. Do you have any idea or is it too much to ask or are you too confused? Edit1: The point is to avoid recompiling, hence the plug-ins architecture. In some other parts of the program, I already use the concept of dynamically loading Javascript files. That works fine. What I am looking here is somewhere in the middle of the program when an Ajax request is sent to the server. Edit 2: To illustrate my question: Normally, you would see the following code. An Ajax request is sent to the server, a JSON result is returned to the client which then uses jQuery to manipulate the DOM (creating tag and adding to the container in this case). $.ajax({ type: 'get', url: someUrl, data: {'': ''}, success: function(data) { var ul = $('<ul>').appendTo(container); var decoded = $.parseJSON(data); $.each(decoded, function(i, e) { var li = $('<li>').text(e.FIELD1 + ',' + e.FIELD2 + ',' + e.FIELD3); ul.append(li); }); } }); The above is extremely simple. But next year, what the server returns is totally different and how the data to be rendered would also be different. In a way, this is what I want: var container = $('#some-existing-element-on-the-page'); $.ajax({ type: 'get', url: someUrl, data: {'': ''}, success: function(data) { var decoded = $.parseJSON(data); var fx = decoded.fx; var data = decode.data; //fx is the dynamic function that create the DOM from the data and append to the existing container fx(container, data); } }); I don't need to know, at this time what data would be like, but in the future I will, and I can then write fx accordingly.

  • Dot Net Nuke module works in "Edit" mode but not for "View": cache problem?

    - by Godeke
    I have a DNN task that simply runs some Javascript to compute a price based on a few input fields. This module works fine on our production site, but we had a company do a skin for us to improve the look of the site and the module fails under this new system. (DNN 05.06.00 (459) although it was 5.5 prior... I updated in a futile hope that it was a bug in the old revision.) What is incredibly odd about this is that the module works fine when I'm logged in to DNN and using the Edit mode as an administrator. In this case the small snippet of JavaScript loads fine and filling the fields results in a price. On the other hand it I click "View" (or more importantly, if I'm not logged in at all) the page loads a cached copy. Even odder, I have found the cache files in \Portals\2\Cache\Pages are generated and then only the cached data is being used. When the cached copy is loaded, the JavaScript doesn't appear (it is normally created via a Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(). Additionally, the button which posts the data to the server doesn't execute any of the server side code (confirmed with a debugger) but instead just reloads the cached copy. If I manually delete the files in \Portals\2\Cache\Pages then everything works properly, but I have to do so after every page load: failing to do so simply loads the page as it was last generated repeatedly. Resetting the application (either via the UI or editing web.config) doesn't change this and clearing the cache from the Host Settings page doesn't actually clear these cached pages. I'm guessing that Edit mode bypasses the cache in some way, but I have gone as far as turning off all caching on the site (which is horrible for performance) and the cached version is still loaded. Has anyone seen anything like this? Shouldn't clearing the cache clear the files (I'm using the File provider for caching)? Shouldn't even a cached page go back to the server if the user posts back? EDIT: I should point out that permissions don't appear to be a problem on the cache directory... other pages cached output are deleted from this folder, just this page has this issue. EDIT 2: Clarifying some settings and conditions which I didn't provide. First, this module works fine in production under DNN 5.6.0. In our test environment with the consulting company's changes it fails (the changes are skin and page layout only in theory: the module source itself verifies as unchanged). All cache settings and the like have been verified the same between the two and we only resorted to setting the module cache to 0 and -1 (and disabling the test site's cache entirely) when we couldn't find another cause for the problem. I have watched the cache work correctly on many other pages in test: there is something about this page that is causing the problem. We have punted and are creating an installable skin based on the consultant's work as I suspect they have somehow corrupted the DNN install (database side I think).

  • Problem with Global Array in PHP

    - by Suezy
    Hi guys,, need some help pls.. i have a PHP code here that lets a user send a message to multiple recipients using the "phonebook" (from database) as the main list. I used an array to temporarily hold all the desired recipients for the current user. So I have a two box, with each for displaying. The user will clicks the name from the phonebook lisy and clicks "Add" button to add on the temporary list on the other select box. The problem is, whenever I use the "onChange" function in javascript; the array accepts only one recipients, and when I try to add, it replaces the first one. :( Here is my code: $recipients = array(); // How do I place the array here? function reload_page(){ i=document.maillinglist.firstletter.selectedIndex; this.location='./group_msg.php?firstletter='+document.maillinglist.firstletter.options[i].value; } function add(){ } $conn = pg_connect("host=localhost user=sa dbname=messaging"); if(isset($_GET['firstletter'])){ $letter=$_GET['firstletter']; } else { $letter='a';} print ""; print "GROUP MESSAGE"; print ""; print ""; print ""; print ""; for($chr_loop=97;$chr_loop<=122;$chr_loop++){ $alphabet = chr($chr_loop); # Displays list of users arranged by letters - this works fine if($alphabet==$letter){ print "\t\t<option value='$alphabet' selected>-------------------- $alphabet --------------------</option>\n"; } else { print "\t\t<option value='$alphabet'>-------------------- $alphabet --------------------</option>\n";} } print ""; print "<td><select style='width:210px' name=\"non_members[]\" size=10 width=200>"; $sql = "select name from test_phonebook where name like '$letter%';"; $result = pg_query($conn, $sql); # Display users from phonebook using the letter chosen while($row = pg_fetch_assoc($result)){ $my_name = $row['name']; print "<option width=200 value=\"$my_name\">$my_name</option>"; } print "</td>"; print "</select>"; print "<td><input type=submit name=add value=\"->>\" onClick=\"add()\"><br><input type=submit name=del value=\"<<-\"></td>"; print "<td><select name=\"members[]\" style='width:210px' size=10>"; # Display temporary recipients - problem: ONLY DISPLAYS ONE VALUE while (list ($key, $val) = each ($recipients)) { echo "$key -> $val <br>"; print "<option width=200 value=\"$val\">$val</option>"; } print "</select></table></form>"; My aim here, is to place all recipients that the user desires to an array, without losing the previous value added.

  • Select dropdown with fixed width cutting off content in IE

    - by aaandre
    The issue: Some of the items in the select require more than the specified width of 145px in order to display fully. Firefox behavior: clicking on the select reveals the dropdown elements list adjusted to the width of the longest element. IE6 & IE7 behavior: clicking on the select reveals the dropdown elements list restricted to 145px width making it impossible to read the longer elements. The current UI requires us to fit this dropdown in 145px and have it host items with longer descriptions. Any advise on resolving the issue with IE? The top element should remain 145px wide even when the list is expanded. Thank you! The css: select.center_pull { background:#eeeeee none repeat scroll 0 0; border:1px solid #7E7E7E; color:#333333; font-size:12px; margin-bottom:4px; margin-right:4px; margin-top:4px; width:145px; } Here's the select input code (there's no definition for the backend_dropbox style at this time) <select id="select_1" class="center_pull backend_dropbox" name="select_1"> <option value="-1" selected="selected">Browse options</option> <option value="-1">------------------------------------</option> <option value="224">Option 1</option> <option value="234">Longer title for option 2</option> <option value="242">Very long and extensively descriptive title for option 3</option> </select> Full html page in case you want to quickly test in a browser: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>dropdown test</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- select.center_pull { background:#eeeeee none repeat scroll 0 0; border:1px solid #7E7E7E; color:#333333; font-size:12px; margin-bottom:4px; margin-right:4px; margin-top:4px; width:145px; } --> </style> </head> <body> <p>Select width test</p> <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action=""> <select id="select_1" class="center_pull backend_dropbox" name="select_1"> <option value="-1" selected="selected">Browse options</option> <option value="-1">------------------------------------</option> <option value="224">Option 1</option> <option value="234">Longer title for option 2</option> <option value="242">Very long and extensively descriptive title for option 3</option> </select> </form> </body> </html>

  • TCP client in C and server in Java

    - by faldren
    I would like to communicate with 2 applications : a client in C which send a message to the server in TCP and the server in Java which receive it and send an acknowledgement. Here is the client (the code is a thread) : static void *tcp_client(void *p_data) { if (p_data != NULL) { char const *message = p_data; int sockfd, n; struct sockaddr_in serv_addr; struct hostent *server; char buffer[256]; sockfd = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0); if (sockfd < 0) { error("ERROR opening socket"); } server = gethostbyname(ALARM_PC_IP); if (server == NULL) { fprintf(stderr,"ERROR, no such host\n"); exit(0); } bzero((char *) &serv_addr, sizeof(serv_addr)); serv_addr.sin_family = AF_INET; bcopy((char *)server->h_addr, (char *)&serv_addr.sin_addr.s_addr, server->h_length); serv_addr.sin_port = htons(TCP_PORT); if (connect(sockfd,(struct sockaddr *) &serv_addr,sizeof(serv_addr)) < 0) { error("ERROR connecting"); } n = write(sockfd,message,strlen(message)); if (n < 0) { error("ERROR writing to socket"); } bzero(buffer,256); n = read(sockfd,buffer,255); if (n < 0) { error("ERROR reading from socket"); } printf("Message from the server : %s\n",buffer); close(sockfd); } return 0; } And the java server : try { int port = 9015; ServerSocket server=new ServerSocket(port); System.out.println("Server binded at "+((server.getInetAddress()).getLocalHost()).getHostAddress()+":"+port); System.out.println("Run the Client"); while (true) { Socket socket=server.accept(); BufferedReader in= new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(socket.getInputStream())); System.out.println(in.readLine()); PrintStream out=new PrintStream(socket.getOutputStream()); out.print("Welcome by server\n"); out.flush(); out.close(); in.close(); System.out.println("finished"); } } catch(Exception err) { System.err.println("* err"+err); } With n = read(sockfd,buffer,255); the client is waiting a response and for the server, the message is never ended so it doesn't send a response with PrintStream. If I remove these lines : bzero(buffer,256); n = read(sockfd,buffer,255); if (n < 0) { error("ERROR reading from socket"); } printf("Message from the server : %s\n",buffer); The server knows that the message is finished but the client can't receive the response. How solve that ? Thank you

  • Doing XML extracts with XSLT without having to read the whole DOM tree into memory?

    - by Thorbjørn Ravn Andersen
    I have a situation where I want to extract some information from some very large but regular XML files (just had to do it with a 500 Mb file), and where XSLT would be perfect. Unfortunately those XSLT implementations I am aware of (except the most expensive version of Saxon) does not support only having the necessary part of the DOM read in but reads in the whole tree. This cause the computer to swap to death. The XPath in question is //m/e[contains(.,'foobar') so it is essentially just a grep. Is there an XSLT implementation which can do this? Or an XSLT implementation which given suitable "advice" can do this trick of pruning away the parts in memory which will not be needed again? I'd prefer a Java implementation but both Windows and Linux are viable native platforms. EDIT: The input XML looks like: <log> <!-- Fri Jun 26 12:09:27 CEST 2009 --> <e h='12:09:27,284' l='org.apache.catalina.session.ManagerBase' z='1246010967284' t='ContainerBackgroundProcessor[StandardEngine[Catalina]]' v='10000'> <m>Registering Catalina:type=Manager,path=/axsWHSweb-20090626,host=localhost</m></e> <e h='12:09:27,284' l='org.apache.catalina.session.ManagerBase' z='1246010967284' t='ContainerBackgroundProcessor[StandardEngine[Catalina]]' v='10000'> <m>Force random number initialization starting</m></e> <e h='12:09:27,284' l='org.apache.catalina.session.ManagerBase' z='1246010967284' t='ContainerBackgroundProcessor[StandardEngine[Catalina]]' v='10000'> <m>Getting message digest component for algorithm MD5</m></e> <e h='12:09:27,284' l='org.apache.catalina.session.ManagerBase' z='1246010967284' t='ContainerBackgroundProcessor[StandardEngine[Catalina]]' v='10000'> <m>Completed getting message digest component</m></e> <e h='12:09:27,284' l='org.apache.catalina.session.ManagerBase' z='1246010967284' t='ContainerBackgroundProcessor[StandardEngine[Catalina]]' v='10000'> <m>getDigest() 0</m></e> ...... </log> Essentialy I want to select some m-nodes (and I know the XPath is wrong for that, it was just a quick hack), but maintain the XML layout. EDIT: It appears that STX may be what I am looking for (I can live with another transformation language), and that Joost is an implementation hereof. Any experiences? EDIT: I found that Saxon 6.5.4 with -Xmx1500m could load my XML, so this allowed me to use my XPaths right now. This is just a lucky stroke so I'd still like to solve this generically - this means scriptable which in turn means no handcrafted Java filtering first. EDIT: Oh, by the way. This is a log file very similar to what is generated by the log4j XMLLayout. The reason for XML is to be able to do exactly this, namely do queries on the log. This is the initial try, hence the simple question. Later I'd like to be able to ask more complex questions - therefore I'd like the query language to be able to handle the input file.

  • Should I be using the command pattern? Seems like a lot of work...

    - by Fedor
    My Room class has a lot of methods I used before I decided to use the command pattern. Previously, I was invoking a lot of commands and now it seems I have to make a method in my roomParser class for every method. If I wanted to invoke say, setHotelCode I would have to create a method in roomParser that iterates through and invokes the method. Is this the way I should be using the command pattern? <?php interface Parseable { public function parse( $arr, $dept ); } class Room implements Parseable { protected $_adults; protected $_kids; protected $_startDate; protected $_endDate; protected $_hotelCode; protected $_sessionNs; protected $_minRate; protected $_maxRate; protected $_groupCode; protected $_rateCode; protected $_promoCode; protected $_confCode; protected $_currency = 'USD'; protected $_soapAction; protected $_soapHeaders; protected $_soapServer; protected $_responseXml; protected $_requestXml; public function __construct( $startdate,$enddate,$rooms=1,$adults=2,$kids=0 ) { $this->setNamespace(SESSION_NAME); $this->verifyDates( $startdate, $enddate ); $this->_rooms= $rooms; $this->_adults= $adults; $this->_kids= $kids; $this->setSoapAction(); $this->setRates(); } public function parse( $arr, $dept ) { $this->_price = $arr * $dept * rand(); return $this; } public function setNamespace( $namespace ) { $this->_sessionNs = $namespace; } private function verifyDates( $startdate, $enddate ) {} public function setSoapAction( $str= 'CheckAvailability' ) { $this->_soapAction = $str; } public function setRates( $rates='' ) { } public function setHotelCode($code ) { $this->_hotelCode = $code; } private function getSoapHeader() { return '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap:Header> </soap:Header>'; } private function getSoapFooter() { return '</soap:Envelope>'; } private function getSource() { return '<POS> <Source><RequestorId ID="" ID_Context="" /></Source> </POS>'; } function requestXml() { $this->_requestXml = $this->getSoapHeader(); $this->_requestXml .='<soap:Body></soap:Body>'; return $this->_requestXml; } private function setSoapHeaders ($contentLength) { $this->_soapHeaders = array('POST /url HTTP/1.1', 'Host: '.SOAP_HOST, 'Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8', 'Content-Length: '.$contentLength); } } class RoomParser extends SplObjectStorage { public function attach( Parseable $obj ) { parent::attach( $obj ); } public function parseRooms( $arr, $dept ) { for ( $this->rewind(); $this->valid(); $this->next() ) { $ret = $this->current()->parse( $arr, $dept ); echo $ret->getPrice(), PHP_EOL; } } } $arrive = '12/28/2010'; $depart = '01/02/2011'; $rooms = new RoomParser( $arrive, $depart); $rooms->attach( new Room( '12/28/2010', '01/02/2011') ); $rooms->attach( new Room( '12/29/2010', '01/04/2011') ); echo $rooms->count(), ' Rooms', PHP_EOL; Edit: I'm thinking it may be easier if I made the RoomParser less generic by storing properties that all the objects will share. Though I'll probably have to make methods if I want to override for a certain object.
