  • How to write automated tests for SQL queries?

    The current system we are adopting at work is to write some extremely complex queries which perform multiple calculations and have multiple joins / sub-queries. I don't think I am experienced enough to say if this is correct or not so I am agreeing and attempting to function with this system as it has clear benefits. The problem we are having at the moment is that the person writing the queries makes a lot of mistakes and assumes everything is correct. We have now assigned a tester to analyse all of the queries but this still proves extremely time consuming and stressful. I would like to know how we could create an automated procedure (without specifically writing it with code if possible as I can work out how to do that the long way) to verify a set of 10+ different inputs, verify the output data and say if the calculations are correct. I know I could write a script using specific data in the database and create a script using c# (the db is SQL Server) and verify all the values coming out but I would like to know what the official "standard" is as my experience is lacking in this area and I would like to improve. I am happy to add more information if required, add a comment if necessary. Thank you. Edit: I am using c#

  • PHP Header redirection problem within page called by cURL

    I have a site that uses cURL to access some pages, stores the returned results in variables, and then uses these variables within its own page. The script works well except where the target cURL page has a header('Location: ...') command inside it. It seems to just ignore this header command. The cURL command is as follows... //Load result page into variable so portions can be allocated to correct variables $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url); # URL to post to curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1 ); # return into a variable curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $postfields); $loaded_result = curl_exec( $ch ); # run! curl_close($ch); I've tried changing the CURLOPT_HEADER to 1 but it doesn't do anything. So how can I allow script redirection within the target urls using cURL to grab the results? By the way, the pages work fine if accessed other than via cURL but iFrames are not an option in this instance.

    I'm trying to write C# code with an embedded IronPython script. Then want to analyze the contents of the script, i.e. list all variables, functions, class and their members/methods. There's an easy way to start, assuming I've got a scope defined and code executed in it already: dynamic variables=pyScope.GetVariables(); foreach (string v in variables) { dynamic dynamicV=pyScope.GetVariable(); /*seems to return everything. variables, functions, classes, instances of classes*/ } But how do I figure out what the type of a variable is? For the following python 'objects', dynamicV.GetType() will return different values: x=5 --system.Int32 y="asdf" --system.String def func():... --IronPython.Runtime.PythonFunction z=class() -- IronPython.Runtime.Types.OldInstance, how can I identify what the actual python class is? class NewClass -- throws an error, GetType() is unavailable. This is almost what I'm looking for. I could capture the exception thrown when unavailable and assume it's a class declaration, but that seems unclean. Is there a better approach? To discover the members/methods of a class it looks like I can use: ObjectOperations op = pyEngine.Operations; object instance = op.Call("className"); foreach (string j in op.GetMemberNames("className")) { object member=op.GetMember(instance, j); Console.WriteLine(member.GetType()); /*once again, GetType() provides some info about the type of the member, but returns null sometimes*/ } Also, how do I get the parameters to a method?   • how can you have the same form handle by javascript multiple times on the same page?

    I have a thumb gallery where I am using ajax/javascript to submit a form per image to report the image as broken seamlessly along with php. The form and script is templated so the script is in the header and then the form is printed multiple times on the same page with a hidden field with a different id for the value per thumb. So basically this is what i have. javascript in header just a quick idea of the forms i have. Just a quick idea not what I actually have. image1 followed by the form image2 followed by the form So when you hit the button it basically submits all of the forms at the same time. I am sure it can be fixed with a (this) or something like that so it only submits a single form at a time.   • Application process never terminates on each run

    I am seeing an application always remains live even after closing the application using my Perl script below. Also, for the subsequent runs, it always says that "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. iperf.exe -u -s -p 5001 successful. Output was:" So every time I have to change the file name $file used in script or I have to kill the iperf.exe process in the Task Manager. Could anybody please let me know the way to get rid of it?     I couldn't find a similar question, that's why here it is: Whats the best way to hide or encrypt an email link in a website, so that a crawler can't read it, but the user can nevertheless click it? I don't want to conufse the users by typing the email like this: john (at) mail.com or similar ways. (and i think this kind of links can nevertheless read by crawlers?)   • Why does my DIV clip its child DIV when jQuery moves it in IE?

    I have two divs, both with position:absolute;, one inside the other. The parent isn't in a place where it can be set as position:relative without an extra layer of complexity (there are a lot of other elements around it that I'd have to account for to put it where it needs to be, which is at the very top of the page, over everything). The child element is made to stick off the bottom of the parent. In Chrome, Safari, Firefox, it all works splendidly. In IE, it works until jQuery moves the parent element - at which point the parent element clips the child, so you can barely see the top of the child. I feel like I've read about this, about IE clipping child elements, but I can't seem to find an answer that applies to my case.     My code: class User < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :university end class University < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :users, dependent: :destroy end and my model User has a university_id attribute.     OK, so my Joomla app is in MVC format. I am still a little confused about where to put certain operations, in the Controller or in the Model. This function below is in the controller, it gets called when &task=remove. Should the database stuff be in the Model?   • Relative path incorrect in the view layer when hosting a rails3 app in a subdirectory using passenger and apache

    I want to host multiple Rails apps on a multiple server using sub-directories. And have encountered some relative path problems. I have made a symbolic link to the app's public directory and placed it in the /var/www/html directory, var/www/html/ /test_app (symbolic link to the public folder of test_app) and set apache as so LoadModule passenger_module /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/passenger-3.0.12/ext/apache2/mod_passenger.so PassengerRoot /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/passenger-3.0.12 PassengerRuby /usr/local/bin/ruby <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName test.com DocumentRoot /var/www/html Options Indexes FollowSymLinks -MultiViews RailsBaseURI /test_app </Location> </VirtualHost> The links in the app itself works just fine, all the links acknowledge the test_app/ directory and work, however, when it comes to showing images in the public directory in the view, the relative path goes wrong. Say I have /system/files/1/aaa.png it goes looking for it in /var/www/html/system/files/1/aaa.png rather than /var/www/html/test_app/system/files/1/aaa.png As far as I understand this is an Apache setting problem than something to be done in Rails, if its possible I would prefer to have it contained in the conf file of apache rather than having to alter the code.

The issue is that I cannot scroll on my device once the #hiddendiv is displayed. I this is partly because the page is only about 500px height (not actually set anywhere) whilst the #hiddendiv is about 1500px height Does anyone know of a work around for this?

It works fine on an HTML file but it doesn't when the file is in PHP. I want the output of the cron job emailed to me which works fine but I don't want that email to include messages related to the CURL upload (only those message my script is outputting). How can I get it to do the following? Horizontal red line grows out from center. --- Red line finishes growing: Content slides in from underneath red line. Awesomeness ensues! a. content, content, content b. content, content, content c. content, content, content d. content, content, content I've tried 4 different ways, and I've tried using other js plugin libraries, but I'm not quite that advanced to figure it out.
