  • ProgressBar while transferring data from Excel sheet to SQL database table

    Can anyone tell me how to show animated progress bar while the data from an Excel sheet to a SQL database table is being transfered? I have a form in .aspx page. In that form, there is one FileUpload control that uploads an Excel file. While uploading that file and saving it on the server at the same time I'm transferring the data from the Excel sheet to a SQL table. During this transfer, I want to show a ProgressBar and after transferring all data it will be removed automatically.. Is there something I can do to achieve this?

    Hello, I am newly using Apache Tomcat6.0 I am unable to access sql database through my jsp and getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver Tried steps at http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html downloaded drivers mysql-connector-java-5.1.9 and mysql-5.0.85-win32 na dkept in tomcat\lib modified web.xml with context details but this didinot help me. Please suggest and provide steps if possible.   • sqlsrv_connect() not found..

    Hey, I recently am working on an projekt that uses the "SQL Server Driver for PHP", i wanted to upgrade the existing driver to the new version (2.0), because I need some of the functions that have been implemented there. Now i replaced the old .dll in the php/ext directory and restarted the webserver. But now i recieve the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function sqlsrv_connect() in E:\ProjekteExtern\hades_apl\classes\sql\sqlsrv.class.php on line 34 But if i run phpinfo();, sqlsrv shows up, in the same way as the previous version did. Does anybody know this error or has an idea how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance :) Gushiken

    I'm a little lost as how to run two mysql queries as one(return one result set to be sorted etc). I understand how to do multiple JOINS but need to combine the below which is more than just a multiple join - it would include a multiple where etc. 1st query sql = "SELECT s.id, s.song_name FROM `songs` as s INNER JOIN `artists` as a ON s.artist_id = a.id WHERE ((`a`.id = #{search}))" 2nd query sql = "SELECT s.id, s.song_name FROM `songs` as s INNER JOIN `similarments` as si ON s.artist_id = si.artist_id WHERE ((`si`.similar_id = #{search}))" And then run both queries at once so I can ORDER them etc. Or combine them as one big query (maybe put an OR somewhere)?     I'm building a SQL Alchemy structure with three different levels of objects; for example, consider a simple database to store information about some blogs: there are some Blog object, some Post object and some Comment objects. Each Post belongs to a Blog and each Comment belongs to a Post. Using backref I can automatically have the list of all Posts belonging to a Blog and similarly for Comments. I drafted a skeleton for such a structure. What I would like to do now is to have directly in Blog an array of all the Comments belonging to that Blog. I've tried a few approaches, but they don't work or even make SQL Alchemy cry in ways I can't fix. I'd think that mine is quite a frequent need, but I couldn't find anything helpful. Colud someone suggest me how to do that? Thanks.

    I am using C#, Entity Framework and SQL Server 2008 Express. I am connected to the database over the internet. What is the best method to speed up saving/updating data to database? It takes 87 seconds to save 180 records to the database. It takes only 3.5 seconds to save the same number of records to local (on the same machine) SQL Server. For every record that I save/update I check if record with this primary key exists in the database, if it doesn't exists I simply save it, if it exists I update it using ObjectContext.ApplyCurrentValues(entitySetName, currentEntity) method.

  • I have three different websites and I want to create a single entry point for all of them but how?

    Hi all, We are creating three different websites using asp.net but for the user part we want to implement an approach so that each user only need to create an account in any of these three sites but use the same account in other websites too. here is what I've suggested : create a useracount.website.com server then put the sql server there and implement core user account library there such as (creating/editing/etc...) whenever a visitor needs to have an account or needs to login into out sites then we will redirect him to the useracount.website.com address and he/she should login from that point. and for the maintaining the user's states I've suggested to using cookies. and all of these scenarios should be implemented by asp.net and sql. please let me know with best approach cause I feel mine is not that good specially the cookie part. cheers.

I have a table and one of its column is referring to another column in another table (in the same database) as foreign key, here is the related SQL statement, in more details, column [AnotherID] in table [Foo] refers to another table [Goo]'s column [GID] as foreign key. [GID] is primary key and clustered index on table [Goo]. My question is, in this way, if I do not create index on [AnotherID] column on [Foo] explicitly, will there be an index created automatically for [AnotherID] column on [Foo] -- because its foreign key reference column [GID] on table [Goo] already has primary clustered key index?     I have an encrypted SQL Server stored proc that I run with (or the vb .net equivalent code of): declare @p4 nvarchar(100) set @p4=NULL declare @p5 bigint set @p5=NULL exec AA_PAY_BACS_EXPORT_RETRIEVE_S @PS_UserId=N'ADMN', @PS_Department=N'', @PS_PayFrequency=2, @PS_ErrorDescription=@p4 output select @p4, @p5 this returns 2 datasets and the output parameters for the results, the datasets are made up of various table joins etc, one holds the header record and one the detail records. I need to get the 2 datasets into a structure in VB .net (e.g. linq, sqldatareader, typed datasets) so that I can code with them, I don't know what tables any of this comes from and there are alot of them Whooopeee!!! I came close using Linq to SQL and IMultipleResults but got frustrated when I had to recode it every time I made a change to the designer file. My feelings are that there must be a simple way to do this, any ideas?

Let's say that I'm having the following tables: Employee Id | Person | DepartmentID | Flags 1000 , Bob , 2001 , 1000000 1001 , Sue , 2002 , 1100000 Department Id | Name | Flags 2001 , HR , 01101111 2001 , R&D , 1100000 What is the best way of joining those tables on the DepartmentID <- ID field?     Hi There, We have an old ASPsite that has been working fine for years with a MY SQL database. All of a sudden last week lots fo SQL queries stopped working. The database has a table called 'members' but the code calls 'Members'. It appears the queries used to work regardless of case sensitivity on the table names, but something has changed recently somewhere to enforce case. This has me stumped as the site has not been touched in years, the server config hasn't changed & the database provide has not changed anything. Is there any simple way to ignore case for an ASP site (without editing lots fo files :) Thanks Ben

Actuelly, I want to retrieve a large amount of data from an oracle database, so I write the code like this: sql = "Select * from CORE_DB where MC = '" & mstr & "' " Set myrs = db_execute_query(curConnection, sql) Then I count the rows in myrs,there are 248 rows. So then I do a For loop to retrieve some fields of each row. For k = 0 To db_get_rows_count(myrs) But then I found that the content of the row k when k 133 was always equal to k = 133. So this makes an error. As I think, there may be a limit size of mrys ? Could anyone light me about this? Thanks a lot in advance

So can anybody know how they improved performance. Without line performance was good each page are loaded in 3 seconds but after migrating to linq as per our client requirement page comes in 8 to 10 seconds which is not acceptable performance. First off, my sql skills are not great (I don't even know if I'm following the correct format for illustrating the db).     I'm having some trouble with the query below. I am trying to determine if the "category" field is A, B or C and then creating a field based on the category. That field would sum up payments field. But I'm running into error saying "incorrect syntax near keyword As". I am creating this in a SQL View.   • Hiding result sets from multiple selects in a stored procedure

    I have a stored procedure that retrieves SQL queries as text and executes the statements using sp_executesql. Each of the dynamic queries is a count query in that it only returns the number of records found (select COUNT(id) from...). I am looping through a set of SQL queries stored as text and building a table variable out of the results. At the end, I am selecting all the results from the table variable as the result set that I want returned from the stored procedure. However, when I execute the stored procedure, I am naturally getting multiple result sets (one for each of the dynamic queries and one for the final select.) Is there any way I can suppress the results of a select statement executed through sp_executesql? I have found answers that reference storing the results in a temp table, but I don't have control of the query text that I am running so I can't change it to select into anything. Please help. Thank you for your time.
