• SVN / Tortoise SVN - Cannot checkout, Access is denied

  We are having a strange problem with our SVN repository One particular project is failing to check out on some dev's workstations. The error is: svn: E720005: Can't open file 'C:\path\.svn\pristine\4e\4e576fad0f625706379863e6051aac33097dbee0.svn-base': Access is denied. All branches, tags and trunk fail at the same point of checkout Other projects in the repository can be checked out fine One of our devs can check out the problem project fine. We have tried 3 different versions of TortoiseSVN (both UI and command line) and another build of win32svn. The one who can check out is using the same client version as one who cannot. Any ideas?

• netsh.exe: Error 87

  I'm having some trouble creating a urlacl reservation in Windows Server 2008; probably this a rookie mistake. The command line I'm using is: netsh http add urlacl url=http://+:99898/ user=ben The error that I see is: Url reservation add failed, Error: 87 The parameter is incorrect. There is a local user account named 'ben' that has admin privileges. I've made sure to put a trailing slash after the port number in the URL. Google and MSDN documentation are letting me down now - does anyone have any clue what I'm doing incorrectly?

• SharpDX: Render to bitmap using Direct2D 1.1

  I have a command line application that I am currently using SharpDX (Direct2D 1.0) to render to PNG files. This is a window-less application. It's currently creating a SharpDX.WIC.WicBitmap, a WicRenderTarget, then rendering to that. I then save the WicBitmap to the PNG file. For various reasons, I need to migrate to Direct2D 1.1 to take advantage of some of the effects available in 1.1. I'm trying to get a SharpDX.Direct2D1.Bitmap that I can save as PNG. I cannot use FromWicBitmap because that copies the bitmap, it does not share it. I see CreateSharedBitmap in the Direct2D1 API that takes a IWICBitmapLock. However, I do not see this implemented as a constructor of SharpDX.Direct2D.Bitmap. • Reset DRAC to factory defaults

  I put a DRAC that has not been used in a long time into a PowerEdge 1750 running CentOS 5.8. Because we run our DRACs on a separate network, we don't change the password from the default (root/calvin), but evidently someone changed this one. I tried the regular command line reset (racadm racresetcfg), but I get the following error: ERROR: Unable to perform requested operation. If the operation attempted was to configure DRAC, possible reason may be that Local Configuration using RACADM is disabled. This implies to me that racadm is able to communicate, but there is a setting on the DRAC that is preventing it from working. I was not able to find any references to this error in any Dell documentation. Has anyone seen this problem and/or know what I can do about it? (The DRAC is useless is I can't log in to it.)

• AppCmd backup for IIS7 gives access denied error (hresult:80070005)

  I have a script I have been using on another Windows 2008 to delete the IIS7 backup of configs and create a fresh one: SET DEST=C:\Backup\Web\IIS7 SET BACKUPNAME=IIS7-CONFIGS %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe delete backup "%BACKUPNAME%" %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe add backup "%BACKUPNAME%" robocopy %windir%\system32\inetsrv\backup "%DEST%" /MIR /R:6 /W:10 /ZB But on a new Windows 2008 server, I get an access denied on the delete: ERROR ( hresult:80070005, message:Command execution failed. Access is denied. ) I have UAC turned off and pretty much copied all the settings from the old server (including user role being an admin). What am I missing?

• ApacheBenchmark ab - SSL read failed - closing connection

  When I am running ab on my website I get a ton of these responses: SSL read failed - closing connection SSL read failed - closing connection SSL read failed - closing connection And some times it is successful. I am on a MacBook Pro 10.7.2. What is weird is, someone else does the same test on a very simular machine, not OS Lion, right next to me and has no problems. Any ideas? I am sure this is something on my machine because I get ab to work all over the place. The command is simply: ab -c 100 -n 1000 https://mywebsite.com One other thing, when I look in the nginx logs, I do see some requests coming in from the ab so it is working some. And also, the logs do not show the failed ones.

  For a hard drive that has 4 or 5 partitions, I was able to mount one of them using Ubuntu LiveCD: sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt but is there a way to mount to the other partitions?   When I use find command on shell, I got the following error. find: File system loop detected; /var/named/chroot/var/named' is part of the same file system loop as/var/named'. I verified the inode number and it comes out the same as below. [root@serverone ~]# ls -ldi /var/named/chroot/var/named/ /var/named 6684673 drwxr-x--- 6 root named 4096 Sep 7 17:17 /var/named 6684673 drwxr-x--- 6 root named 4096 Sep 7 17:17 /var/named/chroot/var/named/ I cannot remove the directory with rm -f and it is saying this is directory. It is minimal CentOS6.3 install with plesk 11. Any help would be appreciated.

• Running mysql 5.5 on centos 5.9

  I installed mysql using yum install mysql-server on centos 5.9 and realized it's version 5.0. I need version 5.5 so then I did yum install mysql55-server however I couldn't find a way to start server version 5.5 instead of 5.0. service mysqld start will start 5.0 server and removing mysql 5.0 doesn't help either because service mysqld start fail to find mysqld service Update 1 Nov 2013: I noticed mysql55 package was being installed to /opt/rh/mysql55/root/usr/bin, so I appended that into the start of my PATH env var but service mysqld start still runs 5.0 server. If I tried running the server using mysqld_safe located on above mysql55 path but it says [root@***** bin]# mysqld_safe Use "scl enable mysql55 'service ...'" invocation Not quite sure what it means. I checked the running mysql version by connecting to it using mysql command line client. [root@***** bin]# mysql Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. • virt-manager can't open the display

  My virt-manager was working just fine and all of a sudden stopped working, throwing in error: RuntimeError: could not open display root@rakcal ~]# echo $DISPLAY localhost:10.0 [root@rakcal ~]# virt-manager Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virt-manager.py", line 383, in <module> main() File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virt-manager.py", line 286, in main raise gtk_error RuntimeError: could not open display Has anyone seen this before? the same thing happen to "virt-viewer" as well: [root@rakcal ~]# virt-viewer winxp1 Cannot open display: Run 'virt-viewer --help' to see a full list of available command line options Does anyone know what might be the problem or if I'm missing anything? Reinstalling "virt-manager" didn't bring any good. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!!

• How to resolve "svn: Can't find a temporary directory: Internal error"?

  I have already googled the message, and I have plenty of disk space available on the SVN server (it's about 4% usage of 150 GB). I have noticed that when I try echo $TMPDIR at the command prompt on the SVN server I get nothing. What is making this a little confusing is that I only get this message from one location when I do an svn diff (that I've tested so far) - this error is not coming up when I try from three other computers (one of which is testing against the exact same repository, the other two are different repositories on the same svn server). About the only difference I can see is that the broken working copy is connecting to the server by an IP address where all the others are using a server name (although this resolves over DNS to the same IP Address). I'm hoping that I don't have to scratch the broken working copy and checkout a new one - unfortunately, this is a legacy project and not all changes have been properly revisioned.

• rpmbuild on Cent OS 6: "cpio: bad magic"

  When I try to run this command : rpmbuild -bb SPECS/software.spec I get an error when the WAR file (as in tomcat java web archive file) is being added to the rpm: error: create archive failed on file /<filepath>/<filename>.war: cpio: Bad magic This didn't use to happen. The only things that have changed since this worked was an upgrade. Further, no problems are happening like it on my CentOS 5 box. I compile and build the exact same code set on both machines, but CentOS 6 won't create an rpm. How do I troubleshoot this? I have already googled it and received few (if any) useful links. This appears nowhere in the user guide for RPM as far as I can see, and Maximum RPM has no section on this.

• AppCmd backup for IIS7 gives access denied error (hresult:80070005)

  I have a script I have been using on another Windows 2008 to delete the IIS7 backup of configs and create a fresh one: SET DEST=C:\Backup\Web\IIS7 SET BACKUPNAME=IIS7-CONFIGS %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe delete backup "%BACKUPNAME%" %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe add backup "%BACKUPNAME%" robocopy %windir%\system32\inetsrv\backup "%DEST%" /MIR /R:6 /W:10 /ZB But on a new Windows 2008 server, I get an access denied on the delete: ERROR ( hresult:80070005, message:Command execution failed. Access is denied. ) I have UAC turned off and pretty much copied all the settings from the old server (including user role being an admin). What am I missing?

  I have an ASP.NET site that uses its own set of HTTP handlers and does not need any modules. So, in IIS6, all I had to do was this in my web.config: <httpModules> <clear /> </httpModules> However, if I try to do the same in the system.webServer area for IIS7, I get a 500 error when I try to view the site, and in IIS manager when I try to view the handler mappings, I get a popup box with the message: There was an error while performing this operation Details: Filename: \?\C:\Sites\TheWebSiteGoesHere\web.config Line number: 39 Error: Lock violation Line 39 is where the <clear /> element is. Some googling led me to a solution involving running this command: %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe unlock config -section:system.webServer/modules ...but that did not solve the problem.

• SFTP - Unable to Overwrite File - "EOF received from remote side"

  I am working with a customer to troubleshoot an error they have when trying to overwrite/"PUT" a file to our SFTP site. When the root directory is empty and they try to upload the file there is no problem but when they try to overwrite an existing file this is when the error occurs. The error they receive when trying a put command in Java Caps is: The error is: Batch SFTP eWay error when doing data transfer operation in [PUT()], message=[EOF received from remote side [Unknown cause]].|#] When they use WinSCP or FileZilla to put the file it overwrites fine with no errors. We have tried: Multiple different files Checking their SFTP user permissions Gave full access permissions to "everyone" to the user's root directory in Windows Recreating their user account Ensured no other processes are using/locking the files that are being overwriten We are using Cerberus Professional FTP server software. Any ideas of what else we could try?

• Configure Zabbix to send email notifications through Exim

  I've been working through the installation and configuration of Zabbix over the past couple of days and I think I've finally got everything working... except the sending of notifications / alerts. I'm running on a Ubuntu server which is using Exim to send emails. I'd previously used this Exim setup to send notifications for Nagios so I know that Exim itself works. However, I can't seem to get Zabbix to send out notifications. Here's what I've done so far: Set up a "test trigger" like so: Trigger severity >= "Information" Send message to User "Admin" The Admin user has a email contact (and I've sent command line emails from Exim on the server using "sendmail" to this email address successfully) The media type for email is set. (I've tried 127.0.0.1) I've checked the user permissions and it is read/write for all host groups The triggers are definitely getting set but no actions are being called... I think my problem is within Zabbix as it's not actually executing the actions And idea how to configure this correctly?

  I installed postgresql 9.2 from add-apt-repository ppa:pitti/postgresql using apt-get install postgresql-9.2 At the end of the install and every time I try to launch postgresql by using the following command /etc/init.d/postgresql start or service postgresql start I get this error: Error: could not exec /usr/lib/postgresql/9.2/bin/pg_ctl /usr/lib/postgresql/9.2/bin/pg_ctl start -D /var/lib/postgresql/9.2/main -l /var/log/postgresql/postgresql-9.2-main.log -s -o -c config_file="/etc/postgresql/9.2/main/postgresql.conf" : [fail] invoke-rc.d: initscript postgresql, action "start" failed. dpkg: error processing postgresql-9.2 (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: postgresql-9.2 E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) I have tried everything found here: How to thoroughly purge and reinstall postgresql on ubuntu and here: Eliminating non working postgresql installations on ubuntu 10-04 and starting af. I have also done dpkg -P --force-remove-reinstreq postgresql-client-9.2 in my attempt to remove everything postgres related from my server. After removing postgresql I have used dpkg --get-selections | grep postg To be sure there is nothing left and I can do a clean install. I have also made sure that the files and folders mentioned in the error message have the right permissions. The /var/log/postgresql/postgresql-9.2-main.log file is empty. I have tried installing every postgresql version from 8.3 to 9.2 and I get the same error on every time. I once managed to compile postgresql from the source provided on their website but then I encountered weird errors with psycopg2 so I figured I'd install postgresql this way and avoid those errors. Also when I type apt-get install postgresql it by default tries to install the 8.3 version even when I can find the package by typing apt-get install postgresql-9.2.

  Possible Duplicate: There's an issue with an Alpha/Beta Release of Ubuntu, what should I do? I'm using 12.04 beta. Today I was prompted to install some updates, which I did, followed by a reboot. On reboot, X starts, but all I see is a single dialog window in the middle of the screen with the text: Failed to load session 'ubuntu' I don't even see the mouse, or the login screen, just this 1 line of text. When I hit CTRL+ALT+F1 to run dist-upgrade from a command prompt, I get this: The following packages have been kept back: libgnome-desktop-3-2 So to see why it was kept back, I tried the following: $ sudo apt-get install libgnome-desktop-3-2 ... The following packages have unmet dependencies: libgnome-desktop-3-2 : Depends: gnome-desktop3-data (= 3.3.92-0ubuntu1) but 3.3.91-0ubuntu2 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. Anyone else seeing this, or have an idea how to fix it? If you're going to close it as a duplicate, can you please link to the duplicate question?

  Macports Apache2 not starting at Mac Osx snow leopard boot. I've done the launchctl load command, the symlinks point to my /opt/local//etc/LaunchDaemeons/org.macports.apache2/org.macports.apache2.plist, but it never starts. I can start it manually, works fine after that. Just wont load on startup. My server is named in my /opt/localapache2/conf/httd.conf, I had read that sometimes makes a difference. I've done the launchctl unload and load trick, al with no results. I'm out of ideas.

  I'm running the lastest Ubuntu 12.04 AMI (ami-a29943cb) from Canonical on Amazon EC2 and quite often when I log in I get the message: *** /dev/xvda1 will be checked for errors at next reboot *** I have read a bunch of documentation on this and seem to understand that every so many reboots (around 37 see Mount count / Maximum mount count below) Ubuntu wants to check a disk for errors. I don't understand: If this is a virtual drive shouldn't it be less prone to errors? Was the image created with one of the flags set? If not what is triggering it? Why is fs_passno set to 0 on Amazon EC2 Ubuntu images? This is not the first one that is like this.
