  • I/O between AIR client using Native process and executable java .jar

    - by aseem behl
    I am using Adobe AIR 2.0 native process API to launch a java executable jar. I/O is handled by writing to the input stream of the java process and reading from the output stream. The application is event based where several events are fired from the server. We catch these events in java code, handle them and write the output to the outputstream using the synchronized static method below. public class ReaderWriter { static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(ReaderWriter.class); public synchronized static void writeToAir(String output){ try{ byte[] byteArray = output.getBytes(); DataOutputStream dataOutputStream = new DataOutputStream(System.out); dataOutputStream.write(byteArray); dataOutputStream.flush(); } catch (IOException e) { logger.info("Exception while writing the output. " + e); } } } The issue is that some messages are lost between the transfer and not all messages reach the AIR client. If I run the java application from the console I am receiving all the messages. It would be great if somebody could point out what I am missing. Following are some of the listeners used to send the event data to the AIR client. // class used to process Shutdown events from the Session private class SessionShutdownListener implements SessionListener{ public void onEvent(Event e) { Session.Shutdown sd = (Session.Shutdown) e; Session.ShutdownReason sr = sd.getReason(); String eventOutput = "eo;" + "Session Shutdown event ocurred reason=" + sr.strValue() + "\n"; ReaderWriter.writeToAir(eventOutput); } } // class used to process OperationSucceeded events from the Session private class SessionOperationSucceededListener implements SessionListener{ public void onEvent(Event e) { Session.OperationSucceeded os = (Session.OperationSucceeded) e; String eventOutput = "eo;" + "Session OperationSucceeded event ocurred" + "\n"; ReaderWriter.writeToAir(eventOutput); } }

  • Styling a comment box to appear below dynamically-generated comments

    - by John
    Hello, For the code below, how could I make the form always appear 30 pixels below the bottom of the HTML table styled with "commentecho"? Thanks in advance, John $sqlStr = "SELECT comment.comment, comment.datecommented, login.username FROM comment LEFT JOIN login ON comment.loginid=login.loginid WHERE submissionid=$submissionid ORDER BY comment.datecommented DESC LIMIT 100"; $result = mysql_query($sqlStr); $arr = array(); echo "<table class=\"commentecho\">"; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo '<tr>'; echo '<td class="commentname1">'.$row["comment"].'</td>'; echo '</tr>'; echo '<tr>'; echo '<td class="commentname2"><a href="http://www...com/sandbox/members/index.php?profile='.$row["username"].'">'.$row["username"].'</a>'.date('l, F j, Y &\nb\sp &\nb\sp g:i a &\nb\sp &\nb\sp \N\E\W &\nb\sp \Y\O\R\K &\nb\sp \T\I\M\E', strtotime($row["datecommented"])).'</td>'; echo '</tr>'; } echo "</table>"; echo '<form action="http://www...com/sandbox/comments/comments2.php" method="post"> <input type="hidden" value="'.$_SESSION['loginid'].'" name="uid"> <input type="hidden" value="'.$submissionid.'" name="submissionid"> <input type="hidden" value="'.$submission.'" name="submission"> <label class="addacomment" for="title">Add a comment:</label> <input class="commentsubfield" name="comment" type="comment" id="comment" maxlength="1000"> <div class="commentsubbutton"><input name="submit" type="submit" value="Submit"></div> </form> ';

  • Custom WPF TreeView

    - by Robert
    I have a custom class that I would like to bind a WPF TreeView that has three tiers. Each tier needs to be bound like this: Monitor --> LCD --> Samsung 1445 LCD --> CRT --> Sony 125 CRT Here is the example code: public partial class MainWindow : Window { public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); SystemInventory sysInventory = new SystemInventory(); //Possibly do something like this. _myTreeView.DataContext = sysInventory.DeviceGroupInstances; } public class SystemInventory { public ObservableCollection<DeviceGroup> DeviceGroupInstances { get; set; } public SystemInventory() { DeviceGroupInstances = new ObservableCollection<DeviceGroup>(); DeviceGroupInstances.Add(new DeviceGroup("Monitor")); } } public class DeviceGroup { public string DeviceGroupName { get; set; } public ObservableCollection<DeviceType> DeviceTypeInstances { get; set; } public DeviceGroup(string deviceGroupName) { DeviceTypeInstances = new ObservableCollection<DeviceType>(); DeviceGroupName = deviceGroupName; if (deviceGroupName == "Monitor") { DeviceTypeInstances.Add(new DeviceType("LCD")); DeviceTypeInstances.Add(new DeviceType("CRT")); } } } public class DeviceType { public string DeviceTypeName { get; set; } public ObservableCollection<DeviceInstance> DeviceInstances { get; set; } public DeviceType(string deviceGroupName) { DeviceInstances = new ObservableCollection<DeviceInstance>(); DeviceTypeName = deviceGroupName; if (deviceGroupName == "Monitor") { DeviceInstances.Add(new DeviceInstance("Samsung 1445 LCD")); } else { DeviceInstances.Add(new DeviceInstance("Sony 125 CRT")); } } } public class DeviceInstance { public string DeviceInstanceName { get; set; } public DeviceInstance(string instanceName) { DeviceInstanceName = instanceName; } } }

  • Setting up DrJava to work through Friedman / Felleisen "A Little Java"

    - by JDelage
    All, I'm going through the Friedman & Felleisen book "A Little Java, A Few Patterns". I'm trying to type the examples in DrJava, but I'm getting some errors. I'm a beginner, so I might be making rookie mistakes. Here is what I have set-up: public class ALittleJava { //ABSTRACT CLASS POINT abstract class Point { abstract int distanceToO(); } class CartesianPt extends Point { int x; int y; int distanceToO(){ return((int)Math.sqrt(x*x+y*y)); } CartesianPt(int _x, int _y) { x=_x; y=_y; } } class ManhattanPt extends Point { int x; int y; int distanceToO(){ return(x+y); } ManhattanPt(int _x, int _y){ x=_x; y=_y; } } } And on the main's side: public class Main{ public static void main (String [] args){ Point y = new ManhattanPt(2,8); System.out.println(y.distanceToO()); } } The compiler cannot find the symbols Point and ManhattanPt in the program. If I precede each by ALittleJava., I get another error in the main, i.e., an enclosing instance that contains ALittleJava.ManhattanPt is required I've tried to find ressources on the 'net, but the book must have a pretty confidential following and I couldn't find much. Thank you all. JDelage

  • implementing twitter bootstrap carousel

    - by arboles
    I am having trouble implementing the bootstrap carousel. Can anyone look at the following html and js and give me instructions on how to implement the slide. The .js has not been edited and the carousel is installed on the body hero unit. Do I implement the carousel api? How do I define the carousel I am using within the .js file? Thanks. <div class="carousel"> <!-- Carousel items --> <div class="carousel-inner"> <!-- Main hero unit for a primary marketing message or call to action --> <div class="hero-unit"> <h1>Hello, world!</h1> <p>This is a template for a simple marketing or informational website. • Custom Cocoa Framework and a problem using it

    - by happyCoding25
    Hello, I made a custom cocoa framework just to experiment and find the best way to make one but ran in to a problem using it. The framework project builds and compiles just fine, but when I use it in an xcode project I get the error, 'LogTest' undeclared. The name of the framework is LogTest Heres the code to my app that uses the framework: AppDelegate.h: #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> #import <LogTest/LogTest.h> @interface TestAppDelegate : NSObject <NSApplicationDelegate> { NSWindow *window; } @property (assign) IBOutlet NSWindow *window; @end AppDelegate.m: #import "TestAppDelegate.h" @implementation TestAppDelegate @synthesize window; - (void)awakeFromNib { [LogTest logStart:@"testing 123":@"testing 1234"]; //This is the line where the error occurs } @end Framework Code........ LogTest.h: #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> #import "Method.h" @protocol LogTest //Not sure if this is needed I just wanted a blank header @end Method.h: #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> @interface Method : NSObject { } + (void)logStart:(NSString *)test:(NSString *)test2; @end Method.m: #import "Method.h" @implementation Method + (void)logStart:(NSString *)test:(NSString *)test2 { NSLog(test); NSLog(test2); } @end If anyone knows why I am getting this error please reply. Thanks for any help

  • Django Template tag, generating template block tag

    - by Issy
    Hi Guys, Currently a bit stuck, wondering if anyone can assist. I am using django-adminfiles. Which is a near little application. I want to use it to insert images into posts/articles/pages for a site i am building. How django-adminfiles works is it inserts a placeholder i.e <<< ImageFile and this gets rendered using a django template. It also has the feature of inserting custom options i.e (Insert Medium Image) , i figured i would used this to automatically resize images and include it in the post (similar to how WP does it). Django-adminfiles makes use of sorl.thumbnail app to generate thumbnails. So i have tried testing generating thumbnails: The current template that is used to render the inserted image is: {% spaceless %} <img src="{{ upload.upload.url }}" width="{{ upload.width }}" height="{{ upload.height }}" class="{{ options.class }}" class="{{ options.size }}" alt="{% if options.alt %}{{ options.alt }}{% else %}{{ upload.title }}{% endif %}" /> {% endspaceless %} I tried modifying this to: {% load thumbnail %} {% spaceless %} <img src="{% thumbnail upload.upload.url 200x50 %}" width="{{ upload.width }}" height="{{ upload.height }}" class="{{ options.class }}" class="{{ options.size }}" alt="{% if options.alt %}{{ options.alt }}{% else %}{{ upload.title }}{% endif %}" /> {% endspaceless %} I get the error: Exception Value: Caught an exception while rendering: Source file: '/media/uploads/DSC_0014.jpg' does not exist. I figured the thumbnail needs the absolute path so tried putting that in the template, and that works. i.e this works: {% thumbnail '/Users/me/media/uploads/DSC_0014.jpg' 200x50 %} So basically i need to generate the absolute path to the file give the relative path (to web root). You could do this by passing the MEDIA_ROOT setting to the template, but the reason i want to do a template tag is to programmatically set the image size.

  • Converting a Linq expression tree that relies on SqlMethods.Like() for use with the Entity Framework

    - by JohnnyO
    I recently switched from using Linq to Sql to the Entity Framework. One of the things that I've been really struggling with is getting a general purpose IQueryable extension method that was built for Linq to Sql to work with the Entity Framework. This extension method has a dependency on the Like() method of SqlMethods, which is Linq to Sql specific. What I really like about this extension method is that it allows me to dynamically construct a Sql Like statement on any object at runtime, by simply passing in a property name (as string) and a query clause (also as string). Such an extension method is very convenient for using grids like flexigrid or jqgrid. Here is the Linq to Sql version (taken from this tutorial: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/aspnet/MVCFlexigrid.aspx): public static IQueryable<T> Like<T>(this IQueryable<T> source, string propertyName, string keyword) { var type = typeof(T); var property = type.GetProperty(propertyName); var parameter = Expression.Parameter(type, "p"); var propertyAccess = Expression.MakeMemberAccess(parameter, property); var constant = Expression.Constant("%" + keyword + "%"); var like = typeof(SqlMethods).GetMethod("Like", new Type[] { typeof(string), typeof(string) }); MethodCallExpression methodExp = Expression.Call(null, like, propertyAccess, constant); Expression<Func<T, bool>> lambda = Expression.Lambda<Func<T, bool>>(methodExp, parameter); return source.Where(lambda); } With this extension method, I can simply do the following: someList.Like("FirstName", "mike"); or anotherList.Like("ProductName", "widget"); Is there an equivalent way to do this with Entity Framework? Thanks in advance.

  • Three Checkboxes, One must be selected to enable submit button, needs Jquery?

  • How do you update table row background color in IE using Javascript/CSS ?

    - by giulio
    I have a table that i want to "highlight" during onmouseover/onmouseout. I already know this is required in IE but not in other browsers. I have managed to detect the events triggering and this TR tag effectively works. (Note that the originating class "contentTableRow" doesn't seem to be causing any issues.) class="contentTableRow" onclick="openForm('SomeID');" onmouseover="highlight('someRowID', true);" onmouseout="highlight('someRowID', false);" id="someRowID" All is fine and dandy, the "highlight" function fires and actually sets the appropriate class. It's just that IE won't process the CSS class name change. Here is a snippet of the CSS I am using to make the change. .HighlightOn { cursor:pointer; background-color: #D1DFFF; } .HighlightOff { background-color: #E1EEFE; } I can see that the Class names are getting updated when I debug it, and also check it in Firebug. But it seems that IE doesn't like this usage of classes with a TR tag.. Is it the way I am structuring the class for Tables ? Any advice ?

  • @Autowire strange problem

    - by Javi
    Hello, I have a strange behaviour when autowiring I have a similar code like this one, and it works @Controller public class Class1 { @Autowired private Class2 object2; ... } @Service @Transactional public class Class2{ ... } The problem is that I need that the Class2 implements an interface so I've only changed the Class2 so it's now like: @Controller public class Class1 { @Autowired private Class2 object2; ... } @Service @Transactional public class Class2 implements IServiceReference<Class3, Long>{ ... } public interface IServiceReference<T, PK extends Serializable> { public T reference(PK id); } with this code I get a org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type for Class2. It seems that @ Transitional annotation is not compatible with the interface because if I remove the @Transitional annotation or the "implements IServiceReference" the problem disapears and the bean is injected (though I need to have both in this class). It also happens if I put the annotation @Transitional in the methods instead of in the Class. I use Spring 3.0.2 if this helps. Is not compatible the interface with the transactional method? May it be a Spring bug? Thanks

  • Properly using Log4r in Ruby Application

    - by Spencer
    I must really be missing something obvious, but I'm having trouble with general use of Log4r in my Ruby application. I am able to log without issue, but the overhead seems clunky the way I have it setup. I'm basically passing the full path to a filename to log in each class in my application. The ruby script that is called pulls the log file from one of the arguments in ARGV which is then passed around and set in each class that I call in ruby. In each class I use the patternFormatter to insert the class/file name into the log statement. Is there a better way to make this work? It feels like no matter what I think of will require something to be passed to each class in my ruby application. I could set the log file in a yaml configuration file instead, but then I would be passing around the configuration file to each class as well. Any advice? If this doesn't make sense I could try and post some more specific code samples to further explain what I mean. Thanks!

  • Rails Polymorphic Association with multiple associations on the same model

    - by Matt Rogish
    My question is essentially the same as this one: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1168047/polymorphic-association-with-multiple-associations-on-the-same-model However, the proposed/accepted solution does not work, as illustrated by a commenter later. I have a Photo class that is used all over my app. A post can have a single photo. However, I want to re-use the polymorphic relationship to add a secondary photo. Before: class Photo belongs_to :attachable, :polymorphic => true end class Post has_one :photo, :as => :attachable, :dependent => :destroy end Desired: class Photo belongs_to :attachable, :polymorphic => true end class Post has_one :photo, :as => :attachable, :dependent => :destroy has_one :secondary_photo, :as => :attachable, :dependent => :destroy end However, this fails as it cannot find the class "SecondaryPhoto". Based on what I could tell from that other thread, I'd want to do: has_one :secondary_photo, :as => :attachable, :class_name => "Photo", :dependent => :destroy Except calling Post#secondary_photo simply returns the same photo that is attached via the Photo association, e.g. Post#photo === Post#secondary_photo. Looking at the SQL, it does WHERE type = "Photo" instead of, say, "SecondaryPhoto" as I'd like... Thoughts? Thanks!

  • Naming convention for non-virtual and abstract methods

    - by eagle
    I frequently find myself creating classes which use this form (A): abstract class Animal { public void Walk() { // TODO: do something before walking // custom logic implemented by each subclass WalkInternal(); // TODO: do something after walking } protected abstract void WalkInternal(); } class Dog : Animal { protected override void WalkInternal() { // TODO: walk with 4 legs } } class Bird : Animal { protected override void WalkInternal() { // TODO: walk with 2 legs } } Rather than this form (B): abstract class Animal { public abstract void Walk(); } class Dog : Animal { public override void Walk() { // TODO: do something before walking // custom logic implemented by each subclass // TODO: walk with 4 legs // TODO: do something after walking } } class Bird : Animal { public override void Walk() { // TODO: do something before walking // custom logic implemented by each subclass // TODO: walk with 2 legs // TODO: do something after walking } } As you can see, the nice thing about form A is that every time you implement a subclass, you don't need to remember to include the initialization and finalization logic. This is much less error prone than form B. What's a standard convention for naming these methods? I like naming the public method Walk since then I can call Dog.Walk() which looks better than something like Dog.WalkExternal(). However, I don't like my solution of adding the suffix "Internal" for the protected method. I'm looking for a more standardized name. Btw, is there a name for this design pattern?

  • Jquery menu with less code

  • PHP/Java Bridge - Access Java objects in PHP

    - by Omer Hassan
    I have a Red5 application which defines some public Java methods. When I start the server, an object of the application class gets created. I am trying to call the public methods of the application class from PHP using the existing instance of the Java application class. So here's my Java application: public class App extends org.red5.server.adapter.ApplicationAdapter { public boolean appStart(IScope app) { // This method gets called when the application starts // and an object of this App class is created. return true; } // This is the method I would like to call from PHP. public void f() { } } From PHP, I would like to get access to the App object that is created and call the method f() on it. I have tried playing around with this thing called "context". So in the Java method App.appStart(), I did this: // Save a reference to this App object to be retrieved later in PHP. new PhpScriptContextFactory().getContext().put("x", this); And in PHP, I tried to access the saved object like this: require_once("http://localhost:5080/JavaBridge/java/Java.inc"); var_dump(java_is_null(java_context()->get("x"))); Unfortunately, the java_is_null() function in PHP returns true. I also tried saving the App object in a static variable of App class but when I access that variable in PHP, its value is null.

  • Interface and partial classes

    - by Tomek Tarczynski
    According to rule SA1201 in StyleCop elements in class must appear in correct order. The order is following: Fields Constructors Finalizers (Destructors) Delegates Events Enums Interfaces Properties Indexers Methods Structs Classes Everything is ok, except of Interfaces part, because Interface can contain mehtods, events, properties etc... If we want to be strict about this rule then we won't have all members of Interface in one place which is often very useful. According to StyleCop help this problem can be solved by spliting class into partial classes. Example: /// <summary> /// Represents a customer of the system. /// </summary> public partial class Customer { // Contains the main functionality of the class. } /// <content> /// Implements the ICollection class. /// </content> public partial class Customer : ICollection { public int Count { get { return this.count; } } public bool IsSynchronized { get { return false; } } public object SyncRoot { get { return null; } } public void CopyTo(Array array, int index) { throw new NotImplementedException(); } } Are there any other good solutions to this problem?

  • How to add XmlInclude attribute dynamically

    - by Anindya Chatterjee
    I have the following classes [XmlRoot] public class AList { public List<B> ListOfBs {get; set;} } public class B { public string BaseProperty {get; set;} } public class C : B { public string SomeProperty {get; set;} } public class Main { public static void Main(string[] args) { var aList = new AList(); aList.ListOfBs = new List<B>(); var c = new C { BaseProperty = "Base", SomeProperty = "Some" }; aList.ListOfBs.Add(c); var type = typeof (AList); var serializer = new XmlSerializer(type); TextWriter w = new StringWriter(); serializer.Serialize(w, aList); } } Now when I try to run the code I got an InvalidOperationException at last line saying that The type XmlTest.C was not expected. Use the XmlInclude or SoapInclude attribute to specify types that are not known statically. I know that adding a [XmlInclude(typeof(C))] attribute with [XmlRoot] would solve the problem. But I want to achieve it dynamically. Because in my project class C is not known prior to loading. Class C is being loaded as a plugin, so it is not possible for me to add XmlInclude attribute there. I tried also with TypeDescriptor.AddAttributes(typeof(AList), new[] { new XmlIncludeAttribute(c.GetType()) }); before var type = typeof (AList); but no use. It is still giving the same exception. Does any one have any idea on how to achieve it?

  • jquery slide to attribute with specific data attribute value

I started with what I think is the obvious: $('#main-menu li a').on('click', function(event) { event.preventDefault(); var pageUrl = $(this).attr('href'); )}; and have tried find and animate but then I don't know how to reference the article with data-url="http://example.com/about.html". Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

  • Design pattern to use instead of multiple inheritance

    - by mizipzor
    Coming from a C++ background, Im used to multiple inheritance. I like the feeling of a shotgun squarely aimed at my foot. Nowadays, I work more in C# and Java, where you can only inherit one baseclass but implement any number of interfaces (did I get the terminology right?). For example, lets consider two classes that implement a common interface but different (yet required) baseclasses: public class TypeA : CustomButtonUserControl, IMagician { public void DoMagic() { // ... } } public class TypeB : CustomTextUserControl, IMagician { public void DoMagic() { // ... } } Both classes are UserControls so I cant substitute the base class. Both needs to implement the DoMagic function. My problem now is that both implementations of the function are identical. And I hate copy-and-paste code. The (possible) solutions: I naturally want TypeA and TypeB to share a common baseclass, where I can write that identical function definition just once. However, due to having the limit of just one baseclass, I cant find a place along the hierarchy where it fits. One could also try to implement a sort of composite pattern. Putting the DoMagic function in a separate helper class, but the function here needs (and modifies) quite a lot of internal variables/fields. Sending them all as (reference) parameters would just look bad. My gut tells me that the adapter pattern could have a place here, some class to convert between the two when necessery. But it also feels hacky. I tagged this with language-agnostic since it applies to all languages that use this one-baseclass-many-interfaces approach. Also, please point out if I seem to have misunderstood any of the patterns I named. In C++ I would just make a class with the private fields, that function implementation and put it in the inheritance list. Whats the proper approach in C#/Java and the like?

  • Jquery get each div's sub child divs and grab info into an array

    - by McNabbToSkins
    I have a some html that looks like this <div id="main"> <div id="sub_main_1" class="sub_main"> <input type="text" class="sub_name_first" /><br /> <input type="text" class="sub_name_second" /><br /> </div> <div id="sub_main_2" class="sub_main"> <input type="text" class="sub_name_first" /><br /> <input type="text" class="sub_name_second" /><br /> </div> </div> I would like to pull out each sub_main divs information into an array in javascript. So far I have this as my jquery code $('#main').find('.sub_main').each( function() { alert('hi'); }); The alert is just a test that it should show "hi" twice. But this is not working. I am also not clear on how I can store the two inputs in a javascript array. Any help would be great! Thanks,

  • using the window object for accessing global user defined objects and using text within html for cre

    - by timpone
    I don't do very much jquery / javascript but wanted to ask for some advice on the following piece. I have tried to cut out as much as possible. Most of this was semi-inherited code with catching a bunch of events just hardcoded in. I'd like to generalized them more by putting the object name in the html and accessing via jquery on processing (by_date, by_popularity). I retriev as string and access the object via window[current_obj]. Is this a good way to do this or am I missing something? Are there preferable ways to introduce specificity. thanks for any advice. <script> var by_date={}; by_date.current_page=1; by_date.per_page=4; var by_popularity={}; by_popularity.current_page=1; by_popularity.per_page=4; $(function(){ $('.previous.active').live('click',function(){ window[current_obj].current_page--; process(window[current_obj]); }); }); function process(game_obj){ //will process and output new items here } </script> <div class="otherContainer"> <a class='previous active'>Prev</a><div style="display:none;">by_date</div> | <a class='next'>Next</a><div style="display:none;">by_date</div> </div> <div class="topPrevNextContainer"> <a class='previous active'>Prev</a><div style="display:none;">by_popularity</div> | <a class='next'>Next</a><div style="display:none;">by_popularity</div> </div>

  • jQuery Autocomplete with _renderItem and catagories

    - by LillyPop
    As a newb to jQuery im wondering if its possible to have both jQuery _renderItem (for custom list item HTML/CSS) AND the categories working together in harmony? Ive got my _renderItem working great but I have no idea how to incorporate categories into the mix. My code so far $(document).ready(function () { $(':input[data-autocomplete]').each(function () { $(':input[data-autocomplete]').autocomplete({ source: $(this).attr("data-autocomplete") }).data("autocomplete")._renderItem = function (ul, item) { var MyHtml = "<a>" + "<div class='ac' >" + "<div class='ac_img_wrap' >" + '<img src="../../uploads/' + item.imageUrl + '.jpg"' + 'width="40" height="40" />' + "</div>" + "<div class='ac_mid' >" + "<div class='ac_name' >" + item.value + "</div>" + "<div class='ac_info' >" + item.info + "</div>" + "</div>" + "</div>" + "</a>"; return $("<li></li>").data("item.autocomplete", item).append(MyHtml).appendTo(ul); }; }); }); The jQuery documentation for the autocomplete gives the following code example : $.widget("custom.catcomplete", $.ui.autocomplete, { _renderMenu: function (ul, items) { var self = this, currentCategory = ""; $.each(items, function (index, item) { if (item.category != currentCategory) { ul.append("<li class='ui-autocomplete-category'>" + item.category + "</li>"); currentCategory = item.category; } self._renderItem(ul, item); }); } }); Id like to get my custom HTML (_renderItem) and categories working together, can anyone help me to merge these two together or point me in the right direction. Thanks
