  • Is it a good idea to mock/stub in integration tests?

    Say there are multiple requests in a integration test, some of them are sphinx calls(locator for example). Should we just stub out the entire response of these sphinx call, or, since it is a integration test, we want to excise the entire test without stubbing. If that is the case, how do we still keep test independent in the situation when sphinx fails, no internet connection, or third party server non-responsive. Give reasons. Thanks

I use EF 4 POCO support, I don't have foreign key columns in my .edmx model (Comment class doesn't have PostID property, but has Post property) class Comment { public Post post { get; set; } // ... } class Post { public virtual ICollection<Comment> Comments { get; set; } // ... } Can someone tell me why the code below doesn't work?   • What is the fastest collection in c# to implement a prioritizing queue?

    I need to implement a queue for messages on a game server so it needs to as fast as possible. The queue will have a maxiumem size. I need to prioritize messages once the queue is full by working backwards and removing a lower priority message (if one exists) before adding the new message. The appliation is asynchronous so access to the queue needs to be locked. I'm currently implementing it using a LinkedList as the underlying storage but have concerns that searching and removing nodes will keep it locked for too long. I tried reading previous posts about NP- My question is what does the word "COMPLETE" mean? Why is it there? What is its significance?     I'm using Quartz CGEventTap in an attempt to globally intercept capslock presses and block them (to have them do something useful instead). I succesfully detect capslock presses but have so far been unable to block them.     I have a bit of a task before me. (DB2 Database) I need to create a table that will be a child table (is that what it is called in SQL?) I need it so that it has a foreign key constraint with my other table, so when the parent table is modified (record deleted) the child table also loses that record. Once I have the table, I also need to populate it with the data from the other table (if there is an easy way to UPDATE this). If you could point me in the right direction, this would help alot, as I do not even know what syntax to look for. I've seen a litany of them for SQL Server, a few for MySQL and Oracle, but nothing that supports SQL Anywhere correctly. I tried using DB Solo, but it turned all my non-unique indexes into unique ones, and I didn't see any options to change that.

Is this a longstanding and known inconsistency or bug or is it that hardly anybody ever looks inside a lengthy tar log long enough to notice? Edit (additional information): tar from within "mydir" with a wildcard will not "see" nor archive hidden files and hidden subdirectories in the immediate directory, with emphasis on "immediate". However, in subdirectories of "mydir" (obviously non-hidden) hidden files and hidden subdirectories will be archived.

I've tried using NetStream.seek(0) and NetStream.appendBytesAction( NetStreamAppendBytesAction.RESET_SEEK ), but then I'm not sure what to do next. If you just try to call appendBytes again after that, it doesn't work, presumably because I'm appending the full byte array which has the FLV header and stuff? I'm not very familiar with how that all works. Any help is greatly appreciated.
