• Can access maven repository from behind proxy, need help.

  I am trying to access maven repository from behind proxy. I configured settings.xml correctly (i guess so...) true http username password 12.34.56.78 8080 But still I am error message like... if i dont configure userid/password gets correct error message which is HTTP response code 407 - saying authentication required. But If I configure correct/incorrect proxy authentication it always prints below error message.... • How to Compile Sample Code

  I'm breaking into GUI programming with android, trying to compile and analyze Lunar Lander sample program. The instructions for using Eclipse say to select "Create project from existing source" but that option doesn't exist. If I select File-New-Project I can select "Java project from Existing Ant Buildfile". Using that I've tried selecting various xml files as "Ant Buildfile" but all give me the "The file selected is not a valid Ant buildfile" error. I just want to run GUI sample projects, preferably with Eclipse. Any useful tips will be appreciated.

• Windsor Container: How to specify a public property should not be filled by the container?

  When Instantiating a class, Windsor by default treats all public properties of the class as optional dependencies and tries to satisfy them. In my case, this creates a rather complicated circular dependency which causes my application to hang. How can I explicitly tell Castle Windsor that it should not be trying to satisfy a public property? I assume there must be an attribute to that extent. I can't find it however so please let me know the appropriate namespace/assembly. If there is any way to do this without attributes (such as Xml Configuration or configuration via code) that would be preferable since the specific library where this is happening has to date not needed a dependency on castle.

  We are designing set of web services which will return XML string in response. These are RESTFul services so I will have to send exception inside element. I am planing to design set of Error code which can help me determine where level occured just by looking at the code. For Example 1000 - Application Level 2000 - DB level 3000 - Network level so if I have error message then I can know right away that this was an application level error and it came from 1st business module. I am not very experience in this so I would love to here your thoughts and criticism. Thanks

• JAXB - representing an element as a boolean member?

  We have this XML: <Summary> <ValueA>xxx</ValueA> <ValueB/> </Summary> <ValueB/> will never have any attributes or inner elements. It's a boolean type element - it exists (true) or it doesn't (false). JAXB generated a Summary class with a String valueA member, which is good. But for ValueB, JAXB generated a ValueB inner class and a corresponding member: @XmlElement(name = "ValueB") protected Summary.ValueB valueB; But what I'd like is a boolean member and no inner class: @XmlElement(name = "ValueB") protected boolean valueB; How can you do this? I'm not looking to regenerate the classes, I'd like to just make the code change manually.

• Upgrading a SharePoint list instance that was deployed via feature

  I'm curious how others address this issue. Using VSEWSS 1.3, I have created a site content type, a list definition (w event receivers), and a list instance. All of them are in the same WSP solution and each is activated individually via features. Now let's assume that all the features have been activated for some time, and the list instance contains a number of items (that can't be deleted). Now suppose I need to make a change to the schema.xml (inject some javascript, modify views, whatever) of the list. Is it even possible to "upgrade" the schema of the existing list instance? Otherwise I would think I'm stuck creating a new instance and copying items over.

  A nice feature in XSD is the IDREF restriction, e.g.: <xs:restriction base="xs:IDREF"> <xs:pattern value="[0-9a-zA-Z\-]+"/> </xs:restriction> I used this restriction with great benefit in a Java JAXWS-project. An object serialized in a SOAP XML datamodel can hold a reference (pointer) to another object in the same SOAP message. I want to try the same approach in a C# WCF-project, can it be done? On the web site Data Contract Schema Reference I can see e.g. Id ignored, Ref forbidden, but I am not sure whether I understand what that means.

• Sending the variable's content to my mailbox in Python?

  I have asked this question here about a Python command that fetches a URL of a web page and stores it in a variable. The first thing that I wanted to know then was whether or not the variable in this code contains the HTML code of a web-page: from google.appengine.api import urlfetch url = "http://www.google.com/" result = urlfetch.fetch(url) if result.status_code == 200: doSomethingWithResult(result.content) The answer that I received was "yes", i.e. the variable "result" in the code did contain the HTML code of a web page, and the programmer who was answering said that I needed to "check the Content-Type header and verify that it's either text/html or application/xhtml+xml". I've looked through several Python tutorials, but couldn't find anything about headers. So my question is where is this Content-Type header located and how can I check it? Could I send the content of that variable directly to my mailbox? Here is where I got this code. It's on Google App Engines.

• Disable keyboard on EditText

  I'm doing a calculator. So I made my own Buttons with numbers and functions. The expression that has to be calculated, is in an EditText, because I want users can add numbers or functions also in the middle of the expression, so with the EditText I have the cursor. But I want to disable the Keyboard when users click on the EditText. I found this example that it's ok for Android 2.3, but with ICS disable the Keyboard and also the cursor. public class NoImeEditText extends EditText { public NoImeEditText(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); } @Override public boolean onCheckIsTextEditor() { return false; } } And then I use this NoImeEditText in my XML file <com.my.package.NoImeEditText android:id="@+id/etMy" .... /> How I can make compatible this EditText with ICS???   Ok right , i asked how to create a random number from 1-100 for android and i came to this TextView tv = new TextView(this); int random = (int)Math.ceil(Math.random()*101); tv.setText("Your Number Is..."+ random ); What this does is create the default kinda "hello world" style text view and says "Your Number Is.... [Then Random Number] My problem is that i cant change the layout of this text , because it is not defined in XML, if someone could tell me how to change the style , or like make the random number into a string so i could use it for any Textview layout that would be great .. • How to store or share live data between PHP Requests?

  Hi, I want to start a project for facebook and the application will be like real-time multiplayer chess game. The problem I'm having is I have no idea how to store the data when a player moves one piece and update the new position in player2 browser. I'm gonna use PHP, MySQL for server side and jQuery for Client Rendering. The simplest idea is to store the data in XML or MySQL and re-generate the result to player2 browser. But I know that when thousand of players are playing, it will not be an efficient way. Since I don't have time to study new language for this project, I'm gonna have to stick with PHP. I'm not going to use flash either because I want my client side light-weight and flash-free. So is there any way that will solve my problems?

  I have a silverlight application that needs to talk to a rails app to add a record. I have been able to get the silverlight app to successfully do the POST assuming everything goes good. Now, however, I need to be able to make it more robust and have the rails app return error/success messages to the silverlight app in a format it can read (xml maybe?). I can modify the rails app and silverlight app as needed. What is the best way to accomplish this with rails?

• Tomcat not showing Spring Context initialization errors when running from Eclipse WTP

  Hi all, Im working with Eclipse Galileo (WTP), Spring 2.5.6-SEC01 and Apache Tomcat 5.5.28. When I run my application from Eclipse, I'm able to see Tomcat standard output and error from the console view. When there is a Spring initialization error (ex: malformed spring XML) I'm not able to see the error message or the stacktrace at the Console view. Anyone found before a problem like this? how you solve it? Thanks in advance, I'm getting mad :-) Edited: I'm seeing all Tomcat startup messages and my System.out.println and System.err.println messages in Eclipse Console.   I am using the code below which is fine but when I use the code below that in an attempt to send an html fragment to a processing page to save it as a file but I get nothing. I have tried using ajax with processData set to false ads dataTypes of html, text and xml but nothing works. I can't find anything on this so I guess I must be missing something fairly trivial but I've been at it for 3 hours now. • Eclipse RCP Application Fails to launch second time

  I have an Eclipse RCP application that will launch properly after a clean install (right after build). The issue is that if I try to launch the application a second time the application throws an exception. I have narrowed the issue down to this file being created after the first run: ~install_dir/configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/.state Has anyone run into a similar issue where the .state file prevents the application from being launched anytime after that first run? I'm hesitant to look at the exception as this does not happen the first time, so I suspect org.eclipse.osgi is more to blame. The details of the exception are: "Error creating bean with name 'luceneRawQueryComposer' defined in class path resource [spring/dataaccess/daoCMClient.xml]: Cannot resolve reference to bean 'indexUtility' while setting bean property 'indexUtility'; NoSuchBeanDefinitionException

  Is RDF still used widely for content syndication? Specifically, I know only of Slashdot as a large scale website syndicating content in that format (say versus RSS). Understandably this might seem vague to answer so more specifically: Can anyone list any larger sites similar in scale to Amazon or CNN using it? Any web based publishing platforms (Wordpress, Joomla, etc...) that generate syndication feeds with this xml vocabulary. Any other more quantifiable evidence that it is used for syndication online. I understand that RDF may be a parent specification but in this case I'm talking about sites that syndicate content using <rdf as a root element and heavily leveraging elements from the RDF namespace: http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#

• Multiple Grails Applications create Ehcache conflicts

  I am running multiple Grails Applications on one of my servers. I am using Grails 1.2.2. I am using the default cache configuration in DataSource.groovy. When I try and run two Grails applications, they both seem to be using/writing to: /tmp/org.hibernate.cache.UpdateTimestampsCache.data When I look at how to customize Ehcache with an ehcache.xml file from this page: http://ehcache.org/documentation/grails.html I do not see any information about specifying the locations and/or names or temporary files. How do I avoid this issue when running multiple Grails applications on the same server (without turning off the cache)?

  Hello, I am after a very lightweight template engine that supports / can be embedded inside Android programs. I've looked at the MiniTemplator (I think that is how you spell it) and that looks great but it loads in only from file and I need to load templates from string and I am not fully confident in changing that code lol. Can anyone recommend a very lightweight (preferably no jars, single source files etc) that I can use ? I do not need it to parse XML or anything like, just normal HTML files with keywords embedded into them betwee %% tags etc. Regards Anthoni

• Rails: Accessing the username/password used for HTTP Basic Auth?

  I'm building a basic API where user information can be retrieved after that user's login and password are correctly sent. Right now I'm using something like this: http://foo:[email protected]/api/user.xml So, what I need to do is access the user/password sent in the request (the foo and bar) but am not sure how to access that info in a Rails controller. Then I'd check those variables via a quick User.find and then set those as the username and password variables for authenticate_or_request_with_http_basic. It's possible I'm looking at this at the completely wrong way, but that's where I'm at right now. :)

• How do I host a Google gadget? How does it work?

  I just spent 5 hours by checking Google gadgets websites and FAQs, but I still have no idea how to host a gadget. What I've figured from reading the Google documentation: I can write gadgets with XML, JavaScript etc.. Gadgets can be added to iGoogle etc.. Google can host the gadgets for you. Gadgets can be hosted anywhere else??? All of the above information doesn't answer my question. For instance, with jQuery or Dojo Toolkit, I can download the JavaScript framework and use it. With Google gadgets, I can not find a download link for a framework. Why? Does Google provide its framework? If not, why does the documentation indicate that gadgets can be hosted anywhere? I am totally confused. A brief explanation or some helpful links are very welcome! Thanks a lot!!!

• Maven2 compiles my tests, but doesn't run them

  I have a simple Maven2 project with tests written for TestNG. When I say mvn test Maven2 compiles my test, but don't run them. I already checked this page: http://maven.apache.org/general.html#test-property-name. This is not my case. Anybody can help?
