• Z-index not working for Embed Code

  While scrolling my web page a DIV which have a video is not going behind the top DIV. On my web page a top DIV,which have folloing css styling #header{ font-size:11px; height:25px; position:fixed; top:0; width:960px; z-index:1000; } Now after clearing all floated element,I added a video on a wrapper DIV like same as this way.. <div id="vedio"> <object>video code</object> </div> Applying CSS #vedio{ position:relative; text-align:center; z-index:0; } After doing all stuff video is not going behind header.Please Someone Help me out. • Debuging to simulator crashes with "exited with status 5" unless I debug

  For some reason the app I am working on has very bad PMT! Literally! Most of the time I cannot debug using the simulator without putting a breakpoint in my AppDelegate. If I don't it exists with "status 5". If I put a break point in and simple continue it works perfectly well, it also works if I run the app in the simulator when not connected to the GDB. I have tried the source on a second machine with exactly the same results. I dont have this issue building to the device?!?!?! Thanks

• Reading Images only from Camera

  I wanted to read images only from the Camera folder of the device. Since the folder might be different for different devices, how can I write a simple application for it). So far I have written the following code, which does read from Camera folder, but it also reads from other places on sdcard as well. • Can I use android.os.* libraries in a standalone project?

  I'm trying to develop an external library (not sure if that's the right term) to provide prepackaged functionality in Android projects. Working in Eclipse, I've added the appropriate android.jar file to the build path, and everything is happy both while editing and upon compilation. However, when I use Android's Handler and Message classes (android.os.Handler, android.os.Message) for inter-thread communication, I get exceptions unless I'm running within an Android app, on the emulator or a device. I can no longer test my library in a "standalone" way without having to go through a running Android target. Is there any way for me to include these two Android classes and still be able to test my library standalone? Do I need to have the Android source available? Or would it require some sort of conditional compilation hand-waving?

  Getting started with Nexus S NFC/RFID. Can anyone provide any guidance? I'm interested in creating some home brew demos using the nexus s NFC/RFID hardware. I think I need to find the appropriate tags and how to encode urls into tags that the nexus s can read by it's tags app. Not sure about iso 14443 tags or mifare etc Does nexus s support all of libnfc?   Im running a asp.net website on windows 2003 ii6. Every 24-28 hours im getting the following error: When the error occurres all users are disconnected from the website. Event Type: Warning Event Source: W3SVC Event Category: None Event ID: 1013 Date: 02/02/2010 Time: 19:29:38 User: N/A A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' exceeded time limits during shut down. The process id was '1660'. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Any idea what does the error means? Is this related to application pool recycle? if so , is it a must to recycle iis pool? thanks!

• Google app engine or Amazin ec2 for Restful services and direct access to datastore

  I'm thinking of building a Restful app on either App engine or ec2 devloped in Java. I'm interested in opinions/experience of using the two options for this. The primary purpose is to create web services to write and retrieve data through a mobile device...basically creating an API for the service I want to create. It seems to me it would be quicker and cheaper in the beginning to go with google app engine using either restlet or grails.But I also think that I could run into problems in the future when I want to so somthing more advanced and might be restricted by app engines environment. I also want to be able to do data analysis on the data in the datastore as well. It seems that with app engine this would be hard as I don't have direct access to the datastore ( in Amazon I could still have access to the underlying db if I go with MySQL ) .

  Hello, I am trying to code and style a box which will contain a post. My problem is with multiple borders (i guess), trying to find the best way to code this, i prefer semantic HTML5 and CSS3, but if there is no other way, i can do "old style" with 3 divs (top, center, bottom) with css background: url..., can anyone give me some lights please?   From strace manual: -i Print the instruction pointer at the time of the system call. I straced my programm: strace -i prog As a result I got a lot of system calls. One of them: [000da49c] open("./rabbit.o", O_RDONLY) = 3 But disassembled instruction at this address of prog doesn't call any syscall (hte editor): da49c ! mov r7, ip What is wrong? How can I find the places of system calls of my program? P.S. Architecture of my device doesn't support GDB-command catch syscall.

• Why OpenGL ES texture mapping is very slow?

  I have an Android application that displays VGA (640x480) frames using OpenGL ES. The application reads each frame from a movie file and updates the texture accordingly. My problem is that, it is taking almost 30 ms. to draw each frame using OpenGL. Similar test using the Canvas/drawBitmap was around 6 ms on the same device. I'm following the same OpenGL calls that VLC Media Player is using, so I'm assuming that those are optimized for this purpose. I just wanted to hear your thoughts and ideas about it?

• Jquery roller/toggle effect

  Hi, I'm looking for a "roller toggle" in jquery (ideally using a plugin). If I have the following HTML: <ul> <li>Option 1</li> <li>Option 2</li> <li>Option 3</li> </ul> I would like the first option to be displayed and the others hidden. Each time I "tap/click" on an option it displays the next and loops around to the first one after the last one. When used on a mobile web device I'd like it respond to swipe up/down events and appear like a "roller" (i.e. using a slide up/down effect). Too much to ask? Hopefully not, any pointers appreciated. • Is google gson running on android?

  I'm playing arround with google gson for communication with my web back end at the moment. This and this older posts indicate that there are some problems with gson on android. I did some easy tests on the device already but maybe I just missed the bug. Edit I'm now parsing a lot more data. Generic lists etc. still not encountered the bug. Has anybody used gson on Android already? How does it work? Has somebody encountered bugs or something that will stop me from using it once it gets more complicated?

• How would I access the Windows Login (Authentication) API from a C++ Service Application?

  Let us imagine for a moment that I have a piece of hardware that can act as an authentication for a user on a given system. I want to write an application in C++ to run as a service, look for this device and if found log the appropriate user in. I believe I have found the API's I would need to use to perform the hardware and service portions of the application but am having a hard time nailing down a way to create a "real" user login. Is this possible? If so where would I look to find resources on accomplishing this? I think of it as being an analog to fingerprint scanner login type devices.

  Hey all, I am implementing APN's and want to release without switching it on yet.. So the app will happily receive them. but we will choose not to send them until later. My question is, as when we want to send notifications is in our control, do apple care about this when reviewing the app. I thinking not, maybe they send a test notification to the device to prove it works? but if anyone has any experience in dealing with this any info would be much appreciated. • My object becomes NSCFArray when running on iPhone

  I'm really scratching my head on this one: I have an object (MyObject) which I instantiate, and this object has an NSArray member variable. The following simple code working in the sim: MyObject *myObj = [[MyObject alloc] init]; NSArray *arr = [myObj myMemberArray]; When I hover over myObj in XCode the tooltip reads "MyObject". Good! But when I debug it on the device (OS 3.1.3) I get: "[NSCFArray myMemberArray]: unrecognized selector sent to instance ... " When I hover over myObj, sure enough it reads "NSCFArray". Can anyone give me some pointers on where to go next with this? Thanks.

• jQuery add class is not working

  Hey ya'll I have this code here and it suppose to add the class name "cboxElement" $(".wpcart_gallery a:first").addClass("cboxElement"); but it does not work. • Palm webOS CSS Targeting Hack?

  Although it is not good practice, I am looking for a CSS hack to target Palm webOS. The problem is that Safari 3+ is awesome, and I can do some things like gradient background animations on text, but only in Safari. Right now I use @media screen and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio:0) {} and it works like a charm, no Opera, Firefox, or whatever, because if I set the background to the image as I do in Safari they will all be ruined. But Palm's browser is based on webkit, and it uses the rules inside, and Palm's browser doesn't support text backgrounds so all I get is the image moving, no text. I would prefer a CSS hack, but if need be a Javascript one will do.

• .NET Application using a native DLL (build management)

  I have a .NET app that is dependent on a native DLL. I have the .NET app set as AnyCPU. In the post-build step, I plan to copy the correct native DLL from some directory (x86 or AMD64) and place it in the target path. However, this doesn't work. On a 64-bit machine, the environment variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is "x86" in Visual Studio. My alternative right now is to create a small tool that outputs the processor architecture. This will be used by the post-build step. Is there a better alternative? (Side Note: when deploying/packaging the app, the right native DLL is copied to the right platform. But this means we have two separate release folders for x86 and AMD64, which is OK since this is for a device driver. The app is a utility tool for the driver).

I may want to accept the latest location I got if I have requested its location for some time, like 1 minute. Then how can I control the request time, for example, 1 minute, if it did not get the accurate location until then, I will stop it and then accept the latest location I have got if exist.

• artsexylightbox problem when using IE8

  I'm using the art sexy lightbox for my pictures presentation and also for html content in joomla. I'm using the Chrome and it works fine and displays everything as it should. The problem starts when i switch to ie8. When i click on the image to xpand in the lightbox the image displays in the center of the page while the thole frame of the picture is on the left of the image. I've tried playing with the artsexylightbox css file but couldnt get it to work in both browsers. does anyone can say why is the difference? I suspect that the browsers treat the absolute,relative orders differently. please help:(

  Hi, I've declared PLCameraContoller instance in my AppDelegate class as:- self.cameraController = [PLCameraController performSelector:@selector(sharedInstance)];[cameraController setDelegate:self]; And I'm accessing it in one of my viewcontroller class as:- del = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; UIView previewView = [del.cameraController performSelector:@selector(previewView)]; previewView.frame = CGRectMake(0,0, 320, 480); self.view = previewView; [del.cameraController performSelector:@selector(startPreview)]; [del.cameraController performSelector:@selector(setCameraMode:) withObject:(NSNumber)1]; Where "del" is an instance of my AppDelegate class. But i can see only black background in my viewcontroller view in iphone device. Also if i remove "self" from the appdelegate.m code of cameracontroller it also showing blank. How can i get camera in my view controller? I'm pretty much struggling with it. Thanks in Adv.
