    Hello, For those of you using HAProxy along with the stats papge (haproxy?stats), how do I interpret this page? There is no decent explanation. For instance: Which Session column displays the number of currently active connections to the backend? Session or Sessions Rate?

  • HP DL 380G7 Raid swap drives

    disks 0 and 1 are raid redundant (OS) and the remaining 6 drives are in raid 5 I believe. i would like to pull out disks 0 and 1 and install new drives to build a new OS. I need to be able to reinsert the old drives and reboot back to the original OS. (swap) I had a serious problem in the past attempting this. does the raid require (look for) the drives based on a serial number or something? just dont want to lose data. thanks

  • Port forwarding to asp.net development server

    I have configured my router so that I can access my localhost from internet. But I can't manage to port forward it to asp.net development server. In router's port forwarding I did the same thing as for the localhost but only changed port number so that it is the same as the one that is assigned to my application, but this doesn't work.   • Restart mysql keeping the data

    Hi all, I'm quite new using mysql, so let me know if I'm missing something. I took some holidays, and when I got back to work and I tried to log in phpmyadmin I got a ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2). I never had this problem, so I was browsing to look for a solution. I tried some things, and I'm afraid I touched too much. I couldn't solve the problem, and the I realized that I had some actualizations to be done, and I thought that they may be helpful for mysql. Then I also realized that when I was doing this actualizations first day, they stopped because I had a lack of space, so I restarted then. Then,when the system was configuring mysql, it didn't advance. I waited for a long time and then I just stopped it and restarted the computer. After it, I just tried to uninstall mysql with sudo apt-get remove mysql-server-5.1, and install it again, but it didn't work. Now I have 2 questions: What do you think it is happening? Should I remove mysql completely? What should I do? I'm afraid of losing my databases, is there anyway to recover the data?   • Can I use REG_EXPAND_SZ for the locations of shell folders instead of REG_SZ

    I'm working on re-arranging a number of the shell folders in windows 7 to utilize Dropbox to keep a set of machines in sync. I'd like to create a .reg file which I can use to update the locations of these folders rather than manually changing them from the UI, but I don't want to rely on the path to the home folder being the same each time. So my question is, is it possible to replace the REG_SZ values in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders with REG_EXPAND_SZ values specifying an offset from %HOME% instead of an exact path?

  • Has anyone seen .NET 4 RC MVC2 RTM web apps hogging CPU on Win2008 R2?

    We have a number of .NET4 RC ASP.NET MVC2 RTM web applications running on a Windows 2008 R2 server. All behave very well except one that we regularly find running at 99% CPU. It is the most complex of the applications, but is not doing anything extraordinary. It relies on ASP.NET Cache quite heavily, but we have limited the amount of memory it is allowed to use. Does this sound like an issue with the environment? Rich

    Hello Folks, I have a LDAP master server installed on CentOS-5.4 and I have installed LDAP on one more machine and I want it be configured as LDAP slave server but when I am importing the LDIF file or trying to create any new object in slave LDAP getting the below errors: LDIF text import Could not add object dc=transcomus,dc=com LDAP said: Server is unwilling to perform Error number: 0x35 (LDAP_UNWILLING_TO_PERFORM) Description: The LDAP server refused to perform the operation. For each new instance, I install the following softwares: etckeeper which keeps tracks of every changes in /etc shorewall to have a simple setup for firewall rsnapshot which keep incremental backup of important directories cron-apt: which take charge of update of the system (or, in my case, send me an email to warn me about new updates) But I was wondering if you administrators have any other wonderful tools for daily management. I'm not talking about remote management (like cfengine) but little tools which help to manage a small number of Linux servers.

    I have a number of Linux webservers for which I'd like to track where disk space is going and keep disk space to a minimum. Typically I login on SSH and use du to find out where disk space is wasted but this is cumbersome and slow. A visualisation tool like KDirStat would be ideal, but it requires installing an X server at the very least, which kind of defeats the purpose. Is there any web-based disk space visualizer? I'm open to alternative solutions.

The kind of things I'm looking for: manage windows updates, + automatic applying custom package pushing (custom scripts, etc) general maintenance, visibily of health works for 2003/2008/2008R2 works without Active Directory or being part of a Domain (Might be able to manage putting all the machines on a Workgroup, if that helps)

    Each block on a SSD has a finite number of writes. This is mitigated on modern drives by "spreading" the writes around as you use the drive. I'm wondering if you partition a SSD into several partitions (a Mac using Boot Camp, for example) if this measure is defeated somewhat - can the writes be spread across the entire drive? Or are they contained strictly within the partition boundaries? Any SSD controller engineers here :)?
