  I am having issues specifying the dataContractSerializer maxItemsInObjectGraph in host's web.config. <behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name="beSetting"> <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="True"/> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="True" /> <dataContractSerializer maxItemsInObjectGraph="2147483646"/> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> </behaviors> <services> <service name="MyNamespace.MyService" behaviorConfiguration="beSetting" > <endpoint address="http://localhost/myservice/" binding="webHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="webHttpBinding1" contract="MyNamespace.IMyService" bindingNamespace="MyNamespace"> </endpoint> </service> </services> The above has no effect on my data pull. The server times out because of the large volume of data. I can however specify the max limit in code and that works [ServiceBehavior(MaxItemsInObjectGraph=2147483646, IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults = true)] public abstract class MyService : MyService { blah... } Does anyone know why I can't make this work through a web.config setting? I would like to keep in the web.config so it is easier for future updates.

• XCode Build Parse Error 'Unexpected @ in Program'

  I'm following a tutorial for creating an animation using Xcode Version 4.5.2 in Mountain Lion 10.8.2. When trying to build the code below, I get a Parse Error Unexpected '@' in program showing up for the 'hopAnimation=' line. While searching, I have found examples that build simple animations in a different way, but nothing that seems to address this particular problem. I'm a noob to XCode programming and if anyone could help me correct the syntax, I would highly appreciate it. I would also like to thank all the contributors to stackflow for making this such a valuable resource. Searching for the answers to most of my prior questions always seemed to have you guys at the top of the results list. • Configuring WCF 4 with routing (global.asax) for both http & https endpoints

  I'm still a newbie with wcf and not too well informed in .net in general. I have a WCF 4 web service that uses the global.asax routing approach and very simplified web.config using the standard endpoint method. This wcf service runs as an application with the default web site on iis 7.5 at present. I need it support both http and https interfaces, if possible. If that's too complex then only https. How is that best handled maintaining the current approach? • WCF tcp.net client/server connection failing "Stream Security is required"

  I am trying to test a simple WCF tcp.net client/server app. The WCF service is being hosted on Windows 7 IIS. I have enabled TCP.net in IIS. I granted liberal security privileges to service app by configuring an app pool with admin rights and set the IIS service application to run in the context. I enabled tracing on the service app to troubleshoot. Whenever I run a simple method call against the service from the WCF client app, I get the following exception: "Stream Security is required at http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing/anonymous, but no security context was negotiated. This is likely caused by the remote endpoint missing a StreamSecurityBindingElement from its binding." • Weird vps server issue

  I have an unmanaged linux vps Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot). I have LNMP installed. Also php-fpm php-apc, varnish, memcache. I have (or rather had) several live sites on it. under normal load the server uses ~700 mb memory. But since last night its using only 20mb~ memory and a lot of the services seems to be down (according to htop) I only see nginx working and mysql starts up and goes does every few minutes on a loop.   I have two instances of Tomcat 7.0.8 running in the same machine (Tomcat7A and Tomcat7B) and IIS 7.5 acting as front-end load-balancer with isapi-redirector 1.2.31, running on Windows 2008 R2. • Sharepoint - Passing parameters in URL to NewForm.aspx

  Any suggestions would be great. I've inherited a system and have been requested to add a context menu item to allow the ability to add a new item. I've set up the context menu with the new option and the newform.aspx to accept and pull parameters from the url for populating some fields.   I am trying to use System.Net.WebClient in a WinForms application to upload a file to an IIS6 server which has Windows Authentication as it only 'Authentication' method. WebClient myWebClient = new WebClient(); myWebClient.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(@"boxname\peter", "mypassword"); byte[] responseArray = myWebClient.UploadFile("http://localhost/upload.aspx", fileName); I get a 'The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized', actually it is a 401.2 Both client and IIS are on the same Windows Server 2003 Dev machine. When I try to open the page in Firefox and enter the same correct credentials as in the code, the page comes up. However when using IE8, I get the same 401.2 error. Tried Chrome and Opera and they both work. I have 'Enable Integrated Windows Authentication' enabled in the IE Internet options. The Security Event Log has a Failure Audit: Logon Failure: Reason: An error occurred during logon User Name: peter Domain: boxname Logon Type: 3 Logon Process: ÈùÄ Authentication Package: NTLM Workstation Name: boxname Status code: 0xC000006D Substatus code: 0x0 Caller User Name: - Caller Domain: - Caller Logon ID: - Caller Process ID: - Transited Services: - Source Network Address: 127.0.0.1 Source Port: 1476 I used Process Monitor and Fiddler to investigate but to no avail.   I thought I'd share my experiences here. I work for a small business with only ~20 users. I wanted the ability to use managed client preferences to assign things like the software update server. Basically the ability to manage my Macs easily and in a native way. At first I tried the magic triangle solution, but I found this to be very complicated. Not only does it require a Mac OS X Server, but it gives you two points of failure. Additionally each Mac workstation must be bound to both servers. Eventually I sucked it up and went with the schema changes documented here. I was hesitant at first, because the instructions require a lot of manual work. However it was fairly basic and only took me about an hour and a half. Below you'll find the schema changes file that was a result of my work. I followed the instructions exactly and double checked everything, after six months of having this in place things have been running great. Too good to not share. • Is it possible to force the WCF test client to accept a self-signed certificate?

  I have a WCF web service running in IIS 7 using a self-signed certificate (it's a proof of concept to make sure this is the route I want to go). It's required to use SSL. Is it possible to use the WCF Test Client to debug this service without needing a non-self-signed certificate? • WCF "The server did not provide a meaningful reply"

  I am out of ideas here, so I'm hoping someone can help. Here is what I've got: A WCF service that only has a basicHttpBinding endpoint. There is only a service interface, all other [DataMember], [FaultContract] are concrete types. When I run it straight from Visual Studio (using WCF Test Client or my custom app) everything works (I send a request and get a response). This usually takes a second or two. I published it to an IIS 6 server. I can successfully open http://server/WebService/WebService.svc?WSDL I can successfully open http://server/WebService/WebService.svc/mex (same output as above) The WCF Test Client and my custom app can successfully add the service reference Whenever I try to call a service method it waits for about 15 seconds and I get the dreaded "no meaningful reply" error. I ran Fiddler and I got a 202 result, which would seem like a success. It's not returning more than 65536 bytes It's returning an array, but it is small I tried remote debugging, but can't get that to work, probably due to a firewall (but port 80 is open, I can get the WSDL) I enabled system.diagnostics, nothing. I have an IErrorHandler which normally logs things, nothing. Here's the endpoint config: <endpoint address="" binding="basicHttpBinding" contract="Enterprise.IMyService" bindingNamespace="http://ourdomain.com/MyService/"> <identity> <dns value="localhost" /> </identity> </endpoint> Anything else I can try? • Using oauth2_access_token to get connections in linkedIn

  I'm trying to get the connections in linkedIn using their API, but when I try to retrieve the connections I get a 401 unauthorized error. in the official documentation says You must use an access token to make an authenticated call on behalf of a user Make the API calls You can now use this access_token to make API calls on behalf of this user by appending "oauth2_access_token=access_token" at the end of the API call that you wish to make. The API call that I'm trying to do is the following Error -- http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~/connections:(id,headline,first-name,last-name)?format=json&oauth2_access_token=access_token I have tried to do it with the following endpoint without any problems. OK -- https://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~:(id,first-name,last-name,formatted-name,date-of-birth,industry,email-address,location,headline,picture-urls::(original))?format=json&oauth2_access_token=access_token this list of endpoints for the connections API are described here http://developer.linkedin.com/documents/connections-api I just copied and pasted one endpoint from there, so the question is what's the problem with the endpoint for getting the connections? what am I missing? • James - mail server configuration help needed

  Hi, I am trying to setup James mail server on a linux machine. The linux machine has public static ip address assigned. I installed James and added in the config.xml added the servername as mydomain.com. In the DNS for mydomain.com, I have created a A-record, say mx.mydomain.com, which corresponds to the ipaddress of the above mail server machine. Then added mx.mydomain.com as MX record for mydomain.com. In James, I have created a new user test. Then from gmail, I sent a mail to [email protected]. The mail is not received back and it didn't even bounce back. The linux machine is behind a firewall with only 22, 80, 8080 ports open for external network. My question here is, Do I require do open any other ports on the firewall so that the mail I send from gmail arrives to James? If it's not the port problem, any views on solving this issue? I don't want to send mails from this server. It's only for receiving the mails.

  Hello Community, I successfully send Mails via SMTP using my Rails App and my Postfix Server. Now I need to move to an Exchange: Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: 6.0.3790.3959 that has POP3 and SMTP support enabled. I use actionmailer 1.2.5 and am not able to successfully login to the server while trying to send a mail. In case I use Mail.app sending and recieving works fine as long as I change the authentication schema to "Password". • Inserting Google Maps into a WYSIWYG editor, then saving and retrieving properly

  Hi, I'm trying to extend jWysiwyg with an function to add a map from Google Maps. I can get the map all right, but I'm having problems with how to handle the generated map so it can be saved with the page and then retrieved. To open the process up a bit: User enters editor which is created using jWysiwyg. User clicks on a button which asks for an address, then returns the corresponding latitude and longitude. I use this location information to create a map using Google Maps API (V3), which I then insert into the editable WYSIWYG area. When I save the page, the whole Google generated HTML gets saved into the database, which will not work properly when opened next time (I get a grey box when I open up the page again). Now, the problem is that I need to insert the map in such a format that it will work afterwards (perhaps using <script> tags). I also need the map to be visible in the WYSIWYG editor itself, so I cannot just put in a placeholder tag which would later be populated with the correct map data. So, in short; how would you insert a Google Map into a WYSIWYG editor in a way that it is both visible/previewable from the editor itself and could also be saved in a format that would work properly when opened the next time?

  If anyone can help me figure out why I am getting the following error when making a call to my WCF service I would be eternally grateful. The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element. I have tried modifying the config file on both the service and client, and made sure the service name includes the namespace. I cannt seem to make any progress.
