  • Replace a control on the screen

    - by Rob Bonner
Hello all, I have an instance of a FlowCoverView (a great library that emulates cover flow on the iPhone). And it works great, with the exception of an update. When I update my table behind the scenes, I have no way of telling this control (that is defined in IB) that it has been updated, and to reload. (much like you can with a table using reloadData) To the question, is there a way to replace a control that is on the screen with another control to force the reload?

    - by Thomas
Hello, I just saw a code snippet like this: private static class DefaultErrorHandler<RT> implements ErrorHandler<RT> { public RT handle(Object[] params, Throwable e) { return Exceptions.throwUncheckedException(e); } Now I am wondering what the static method "throwUncheckedException (Throwable e)" would return exactly and how it might be implemented regarding the generics. Can anybody give me an example ?

  • gcc check if file is main (#if __BASE_FILE__ == __FILE__)

    - by Marcin Raczkowski
Hello. In ruby there's very common idiom to check if current file is "main" file: if __FILE__ == $0 # do something here (usually run unit tests) end I'd like to do something similar in C after reading gcc documentation I've figured that it should work like this: #if __FILE__ == __BASE_FILE__ // Do stuff #endif the only problem is after I try this: $ gcc src/bitmap_index.c -std=c99 -lm && ./a.out src/bitmap_index.c:173:1: error: token ""src/bitmap_index.c"" is not valid in preprocessor expressions Am I using #if wrong?

  • Where can I find documentation for Scala's delayed function calls?

    - by Geo
I saw a delayed example in David Pollak's "Beginning Scala". I tried to adapt that, by trial and error. Here's what I have: def sayhello() = { println("hello") } def delaying(t: => Unit):Unit = { println("before call") t println("after call") } delaying(sayhello()) How would you delay a function/method that takes parameters? Why can't I use parantheses when I call t? Where can I find more documentation on delaying functions?

  • How can Perl's print add a newline by default?

    - by Mike
In Perl most of my print statements take the form print "hello." . "\n"; Is there a nice way to avoid keeping all the pesky "\n"s lying around? I know I could make a new function such as myprint that automatically appends \n, but it would be nice if I could override the existing print.
