  • Select distinct... in fulltext search

    - by lam3r4370
    <?php session_start(); $user =$_GET['user']; $conn = mysql_connect("localhost","...","..."); mysql_select_db("..."); $sql= "SELECT filter FROM userfilter WHERE user='$user'"; $mksql = mysql_query($sql); while($row =mysql_fetch_assoc($mksql)) { $filter=$row['filter']; $sql2 = "SELECT DISTINCT * FROM rss WHERE MATCH(content,title) AGAINST ('$filter')"; $mksql2 = mysql_query($sql2) or die(mysql_error()); while($rows=mysql_fetch_assoc($mksql2)) { echo ..... } ?> If I have two rows content that contains the $filter ,it outputs me that content but it's repeating. For example: title|content asd |This is a sample content ,number one das |This is a sample content ,number two .... And if my keywords are "sample" and "number" ,it outputs me twice the title and the content.How to prevent that?

  • Exploring search options for PHP

    - by Joshua
    I have innoDB table using numerous foreign keys, but we just want to look up some basic info out of it. I've done some research but still lost. 1) How can I tell if my host has Sphinx installed already? I don't see it as an option for table storage method (i.e. innodb, myisam). 2) Zend_Search_Lucene, responsive enough for AJAX functionality of millions of records? 3) Mirror my innoDB with a myisam? Make every innodb transaction end with a write to the myisam, then use 1:1 lookups? How would I do this automagically? This should make MyISAM ACID-compliant and free(er) from corruption no? 4) PostgreSQL fulltext queries don't even look like SQL to me wtf, I don't have time to learn a new SQL syntax I need noob options 5) ???????????????????? This is high volume site on a decently-equipped VPS Thanks very much for any ideas.

  • PHP form validation submit problem

    - by TaG
    Every time I try to submit the form and I have not entered nothing in the year field I get Incorrect year! how can I still submit the form without having to enter a year. In other words leaving the year field blank and not getting a warning? Here is the PHP code. if(preg_match('/^\d{4,}$/', $_POST['year'])) { $year = mysqli_real_escape_string($mysqli, $_POST['year']); } else { $year = NULL; } if($year == NULL) { echo '<p class="error">Incorrect year!</p>'; } else { //do something }

  • alter mysqldump file before import

    - by julio
    Hi-- I have a mysqldump file created from an earlier version of a product that can't be imported into a new version of the product, since the db structure has changed slightly (mainly altering a column that was NOT NULL DEFAULT 0 to UNIQUE KEY DEFAULT NULL). If I just import the old dump file, it will error out since the column that has default values of 0 now breaks the UNIQUE constraint. It would be easy enough to either manually alter the mysqldump file, or import into a temp table and change it, then copy to the new table. However, is there a way to do this programatically, so it will be repeatable and not manual? (this will need to happen for many instances of this product). I'm thinking something like disabling key constraints for the import, then setting all values that = 0 to NULL, then re-enabling the key constraints? Is this possible? Any help appreciated.

  • HOw Do I update from table-2 to table-1

    - by mathew
    HI what is the wrong in this code?? i have set it 24 hours to update the value in the table.but the problem is if $row is empty then it inserts value from table-2 but after 24 hours it wont update the value. what I want is it must delete the existing value and insert new one(random value) or it must update the same $row with new value what ever... if ($row == 0){ mysql_query("INSERT INTO table-1 (regtime,person,location,address,rank,ip,geocode) SELECT NOW(),person,location,address,rank,ip,geocode FROM table-2 ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1");}else{ mysql_query("UPDATE table-1 SELECT regtime=NOW(), person=person, location=location, address=address, rank=rank, ip=ip, geocode=geocode FROM table-2 ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1");}

  • Getting a table's values into a tree

    - by Jason
    So, I have a table like such: id|root|kw1|kw2|kw3|kw4|kw5|name 1| A| B| C| D| E| F|fileA 2| A| B| | | | |fileB 3| B| C| D| E| | |fileC 4| A| B| | | | |fileD (several hundred rows...) And I need to get it into a tree like the following: *A *B -fileB -fileD *C *D *E *F -fileA *B *C *D *E -fileC I'm pretty sure the table is laid out poorly but it's what I have to live with. I've read a little about Adjacency List Model & Modified Preorder Tree Traversal but I don't think my data is laid out correctly. I think this requires a recursive function, but I'm not at all sure how to go about that. I'm open to any ideas of how to get this done even if it means extracting the data into a new table just to process this. Are there any good options available to me or any good ways to do this? (Examples are a bonus of course)

  • Database Design for One to One relationships

    - by Greelmo
    I'm trying to finalize my design of the data model for my project, and am having difficulty figuring out which way to go with it. I have a table of users, and an undetermined number of attributes that apply to that user. The attributes are in almost every case optional, so null values are allowed. Each of these attributes are one to one for the user. Should I put them on the same table, and keep adding columns when attributes are added (making the user table quite wide), or should I put each attribute on a separate table with a foreign key to the user table. I have decided against using the EAV model. Thanks!

  • Can I select a set of rows from a table and directly insert that into a table or the same table in S

    - by VJ
    Hi I guess we cannot do this but was just curious if I could do something like - Select * from Employee where EmployeeId=1 and then use the data in the above statement and directly insert into a table with just changing the employeeid...or just this way- insert into Employee ( Select * from Employee where EmployeeId=1) its probably stupid from my side...but I just felt the need to do this a lot of times...so just was curious if there was any way to achieve it..

I have the following but it doesn't preform what I need: Reservation.find(:all, :conditions => ['container_id = ? AND confirmed = ? OR auto_confirm = ?', self.id, true, true,]) How should I change this?

  • How do large sites accomplish row-level permissions?

    - by JayD3e
    So I am making a small site using cakephp, and my ACL is set up so that every time a piece of content is created, an ACL rule is created to link the owner of the piece of content to the actual content. This allows each owner to edit/delete their own content. This method just seems so inefficient, because there is an equivalent amount of ACL rules as content in the database. I was curious, how do big sites, with millions of pieces of content, solve this problem?

It's the same problem like this, but in rails.

  • [Reloaded] Error while sorting filtered data from a GridView

    - by Bogdan M
    Hello guys, I have an error I cannot solve, on a ASP.NET website. One of its pages - Countries.aspx, has the following controls: a CheckBox called "CheckBoxNAME": < asp:CheckBox ID="CheckBoxNAME" runat="server" Text="Name" /> a TextBox called "TextBoxName": < asp:TextBox ID="TextBoxNAME" runat="server" Width="100%" Wrap="False"> < /asp:TextBox> a SQLDataSource called "SqlDataSourceCOUNTRIES", that selects all records from a Table with 3 columns - ID (Number, PK), NAME (Varchar2(1000)), and POPULATION (Number) called COUNTRIES < asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSourceCOUNTRIES" runat="server" ConnectionString="< %$ ConnectionStrings:myDB %> " ProviderName="< %$ ConnectionStrings:myDB.ProviderName %> " SelectCommand="SELECT COUNTRIES.ID, COUNTRIES.NAME, COUNTRIES.POPULATION FROM COUNTRIES ORDER BY COUNTRIES.NAME, COUNTRIES.ID"> < /asp:SqlDataSource> a GridView called GridViewCOUNTRIES: < asp:GridView ID="GridViewCOUNTRIES" runat="server" AllowPaging="True" AllowSorting="True" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataSourceID="SqlDataSourceCOUNTRIES" DataKeyNames="ID" DataMember="DefaultView"> < Columns> < asp:CommandField ShowSelectButton="True" /> < asp:BoundField DataField="ID" HeaderText="Id" SortExpression="ID" /> < asp:BoundField DataField="NAME" HeaderText="Name" SortExpression="NAME" /> < asp:BoundField DataField="POPULATION" HeaderText="Population" SortExpression="POPULATION" /> < /Columns> < /asp:GridView> a Button called ButtonFilter: < asp:Button ID="ButtonFilter" runat="server" Text="Filter" onclick="ButtonFilter_Click"/> This is the onclick event: protected void ButtonFilter_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Response.Redirect("Countries.aspx?" + (this.CheckBoxNAME.Checked ? string.Format("NAME={0}", this.TextBoxNAME.Text) : string.Empty)); } Also, this is the main onload event of the page: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (Page.IsPostBack == false) { if (Request.QueryString.Count != 0) { Dictionary parameters = new Dictionary(); string commandTextFormat = string.Empty; if (Request.QueryString["NAME"] != null) { if (commandTextFormat != string.Empty && commandTextFormat.EndsWith("AND") == false) { commandTextFormat += "AND"; } commandTextFormat += " (UPPER(COUNTRIES.NAME) LIKE '%' || :NAME || '%') "; parameters.Add("NAME", Request.QueryString["NAME"].ToString()); } this.SqlDataSourceCOUNTRIES.SelectCommand = string.Format("SELECT COUNTRIES.ID, COUNTRIES.NAME, COUNTRIES.POPULATION FROM COUNTRIES WHERE {0} ORDER BY COUNTRIES.NAME, COUNTRIES.ID", commandTextFormat); foreach (KeyValuePair parameter in parameters) { this.SqlDataSourceCOUNTRIES.SelectParameters.Add(parameter.Key, parameter.Value.ToUpper()); } } } } Basicly, the page displays in the GridViewCOUNTRIES all the records of table COUNTRIES. The scenario is the following: - the user checks the CheckBox; - the user types a value in the TextBox (let's say "ch"); - the user presses the Button; - the page loads displaying only the records that match the filter criteria (in this case, all the countries that have names containing "Ch"); - the user clicks on the header of the column called "Name" in order to sort the data in the GridView Then, I get the following error: ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Data.OracleClient.OracleException: ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number Source Error: An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below. Any help is greatly appreciated, tnks. • Doctrine-CLI database creation issue.

    - by gokujou
    I have Doctrine setup in my Zend Framework application and I built my schema YAML file. But when I tell Doctrine to build the tables it says it does but it doesn't actually make them. It creates the models, and will create the DB but it will not populate the DB with the tables and throws no errors. Does anyone have a guess or know why this is not working? Thank you.

  • Hibernate deletion issue

    - by muffytyrone
    I'm trying to write a Java app that imports a data file. The process is as follows Create Transaction Delete all rows from datatable Load data file into datatable Commit OR Rollback if any errors were encountered. The data loaded in step 3 is mostly the same as the data deleted in step3. The deletion is performed using the following DetachedCriteria criteria = DetachedCriteria.forClass(myObject.class); List<myObject> myObjects = hibernateTemplate.findByCriteria(criteria); hibernateTemplate.deleteAll(myObjects); When I then load the datafile, i get the following exception nested exception is org.hibernate.NonUniqueObjectException: a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session: The whole process needs to take place in transaction. And I don't really want to have to compare the import file / data table and then perform an insert/update/delete to get them into sync. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Fetch image from folder via datatable does not work after placing image in subdirectory

    - by Arnold Bishkoff
    I am having trouble wrapping my head around the following I have code that fetches an image via smarty in a line img src="getsnap.php?picid={$data[$smarty.section.sec.index].picno|default:$nextpic}&typ=pic&width={$config.disp_snap_width}&height={$config.disp_snap_height}" class="smallpic" alt="" / this works if i pull the image from /temp/userimages/userid/imageNo.ext but because an OS can segfault if you store too many folders or images in a directory i have code that assigns the user image to a subdirectory based upon division of a subdir per 1000 userids. so in thise case i have user id 94 whos images get stored in /siteroot/temp/userimages/000000/94/pic_1.jpg (through 10) or tn_1 (through 10).jpg here is the code for getsnap.php <?php ob_start(); if ( !defined( 'SMARTY_DIR' ) ) { include_once( 'init.php' ); } include('core/snaps_functions.php'); if (isset($_REQUEST['username']) && $_REQUEST['username'] != '') { $userid = $osDB-getOne('select id from ! where username = ?',array(USER_TABLE, $_REQUEST['username']) ); } else { // include ( 'sessioninc.php' ); if( !isset($_GET['id']) || (isset($_GET['id'])&& (int)$_GET['id'] <= 0 ) ) { $userid = $_SESSION['UserId']; } else { $userid = $_GET['id']; } } if (!isset($_GET['picid']) ) { if ((isset($_REQUEST['type']) && $_REQUEST['type'] != 'gallery') || !isset($_REQUEST['type']) ) { $defpic = $osDB-getOne('select picno from ! where userid = ? and ( album_id is null or album_id = ?) and default_pic = ? and active = ?   • Does a SELECT happen all at once, or progressively

    - by AmbroseChapel
    I have a process which finds a list of files to be deleted using a SELECT wheredelete= 'Y'. I set this process running the other day but it takes a while because it actually does the file deletions too. And in the middle of its long operation, I was using the application and deleted one more file. At this point I realised I didn't know if that file would be deleted, because I didn't know if the SELECT would have found all the files at the start, or if it was finding them progressively and would get to my newly-deleted file eventually.

  • filling colors on a map - PHP

    - by jeremy
    I am trying to determine how to fill colors onto a map - such as the "Risk" board game map. I've done this before with HTML tables, by pulling an HTML color code from a SQL table and then just using it to fill the cell the color I want it. But for a non-square map, I'm not sure where to look. I have created a very simple two color map - its white with black borders. My desired result is having the 'regions' on the map shaded with a color, based on data in a sql table (just like the "fill" button in Paint). This looks like what I need: http://php.net/manual/en/function.imagefilltoborder.php and now.. how to define the borders... At the moment I have tried nothing, because the question was: how do I have PHP fill parts of an image? I have tried making an image in Paint, and then scratching my head wondering how to fill parts of it. Having stumbled upon a link, let me focus this a bit more: It appears that with imagefilltoborder that I can put an image on my server, perhaps one that looks like a black and white version of the RISK map - black borders and white everything else. Some questions: Is it correct that the 'border' variable should use the color of my border (whatever value black is) so that the code can "see" where the border is? Is it correct that I'll just need to figure out X,Y coords to begin the fill? Does this work if I have 10 different spots to fill on the map? Can I use varying colors from code or pulled from SQL to assign different colors to those 10 spots, and use 10 different X,Y coords to get them all?
