• How to have a user control as a ListBoxItem

  I want to bind a user control (View) to a ListBoxItem. The ListBox is bound to a collection of ViewModels. I have set the ListBox's ItemTemplate as so: <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <View:ContactView/> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> But all I get are blank ListBoxItems. I can click on them, but nothing is showing visually. • Stretch ListBox Items hit area to full width if the ListBox?

  I've looked around for an answer on this, but the potential duplicates are more concerned with presentation than interaction. I have a basic list box, and each item's content is a simple string. The ListBox itself is stretched to fill it's grid container, but each ListBoxItem's hitarea does not mirror the ListBox width. It looks as if the hitarea (pointer contact area) for each item is only the width of the text content. How do I make this stretch all the way across, regardless of the text size. I've set HorizontalContentAlignment to Stretch, but this doesn't solve my problem. My only other guess is that the content is actually stretching, but the background is invisible and so not capturing the mouse pointer. <ListBox Grid.Row="1" x:Name="ProjectsListBox" DisplayMemberPath="Name" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Projects}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=SelectedProject}" HorizontalContentAlignment="Stretch"/> The XAML is pretty straight forward on this. If I mouse over the text in one of the items, then the entire width of the item becomes active. I guess I just need to know how to create an interactive background that is invisible.

• MVC JsonResult with the [Authorize] attribute going to Logon but not displaying the view

  I am seeing odd behavior with MVC 3 methods that return a JsonResult when used with the Authorize attribute. What looks like happens is the Authorize is correctly evaluated when I am not logged in but instead of redirecting to the logon form the Json response is the logon form. Is there an addition attribute that directs the response to not return a value but instead redirect the user to the logon form, preferebly with the correct returnUrl value? What I did as a demo was to setup a new MVC3 site and added AspNetMembership to my DB using the aspnet_regsql.exe command. All that is setup and logging me in correctly. The behavior of the JsonResult doesn't seem right and I'm hoping I have just missed an attribute to make it work properly. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. • How to determine if the camera button is half pressed

  I am creating a small test camera application, and I would like to be able to implement a feature that allows focus text bars to be present on the screen while the hardware camera button is pressed half way down. I created a camera_ButtonHalfPress event to perform the focus action, but I am unsure of how to toggle the text bars I would like to show on the screen accordingly. Essentially, my goal would be to show the text bars while the camera button is pressed half way down, and then remove them if the button is pressed all the way or the button is released before being pressed all the way down. The button being released is the part I am having trouble with. What I have is as follows: MainPage.xaml.cs private void camera_ButtonHalfPress(object sender, EventArgs e) { //camera.Focus(); // Show the focus brackets. focusBrackets.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; } } private void camera_ButtonFullPress(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Hide the focus brackets. focusBrackets.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; camera.CaptureImage(); } } Currently, if the the user decides to release the camera button before it is pressed all the way, the focus brackets persist on the screen. How might I fix this issue?

• "2d Search" in Solr or how to get the best item of the multivalued field 'items'?

  The title is a bit awkward but I couldn't found a better one. My problem is as follows: I have several users stored as documents and I am storing several key-value-pairs or items (which have an id) for each document. Now, if I apply highlighting I can get the first n items. If you have several hundreds of such items this highlighting is necessary and works nicely. But there are two problems: The highlighted text won't contain the id and so retrieving additional information of the highlighted item text is ugly. E.g. you need to store the id in the text so that the highlighter returns it. Adding the id to the hl.fl parameter does not help. You will not get the most relevant n-items. You will get the first n items ... So how can I find the best items of a documents with multiple such items? I will now add my own findings as answers, but as I will point out. Each of them has its drawbacks. Hopefully anyone of you can point me to a better solution.

  I'm new to MySQL and as a learning project I'd like to make a recipe database. I'd like to the user to be able to enter ingredients through a simple HTML form but I'm stuck in how to label the form so that I can enter several ingredients into the database at once. I'd like to do something like this: <form method="post" action="insert.php"> Ingredient 1: <input type="text" name="ingredient"><br /> Ingredient 2: <input type="text" name="ingredient"><br /> Ingredient 3: <input type="text" name="ingredient"><br /> <input type="submit" value="Submit"> </form> When I do this, I add rows to the table but they're all empty. I know it's got something to do with me using "ingredient" (the table value where I want to add the ingredient name) several times in the form, but I just don't know how to solve it. I would absolutely love some input on how to make it work.

• jQuery validation plugin - no error messages instead custom backgrounds

  I am using the jQuery validation plugin. The form which is being validated has custom background images for the text input fields, so instead of showing an error message for invalid fields I would like to change the background image. Making things a bit trickier is that the background image for the fields is on a different div absolutely positioned behind the text field (which has a transparent background and no border). I will spare going into the reasons for this design decision here (it's related to margins within the text field) but I thought it should be mentioned since it is critical to this question. Therefore, I have two questions: How can I stop the display of the error messages all-together? How can I instead tell the validation plugin if, for example, the name field (e.g. <input id=name ... />) is invalid then it should change the background for the relevant div (e.g. <div id=name-bg... ></div>)? But graduation_date is missing. After a little more testing, I see that anything ending in _date is excluded from form.fieldnames. I was going to ask what's wrong with my code, but now I'm pretty convinced it's a bug in ColdFusion. (I'm on ColdFusion 8.0.1 / OS X 10.5.6.) It's a bug in ColdFusion, right?

• Symfony 2 - Updating a table based on newly inserted record in another table

  I'm trying to create a small forum application using Symfony 2 and Doctrine 2. My ForumTopic entity has a last_post field (oneToOne mapping). Now when I persist my new post with $em->persist($post); I want to update my ForumTopic entity so its last_post field would reference this new post. I have just realised that it cannot be done with a Doctrine postPersist Listener, so I decided to use a small hack, and tried: $em->persist($post); $em->flush(); $topic->setLastPost($post); $em->persist($post); $em->flush(); but it doesn't seem to update my topics table. I also took a look at http://docs.doctrine-project.org/projects/doctrine-orm/en/2.1/reference/working-with-associations.html#transitive-persistence-cascade-operations hoping it will solve the problem by adding cascade: [ 'persist' ] to my Topic.orm.yml file, but it didn't help, either. Could anyone point me to a solution or an example class? • Blocking HTML and Javascript from being displayed on my site

  I am working on this new social networking site. One of it's various functions is posting. You can post to Facebook and my site, or Twitter and my site. That being said, I couldn't help but try and post HTML as I was testing sql injection. When I did, I noticed that there where ways to manipulate the site to, for instance, using a element to completely screw up the CSS design, or redirect a user to another site using javascript. That being said, I want to make my site a safe environment for my users... not a site that is used to distribute computer viruses, porn, and other things that might make someone tend to stay off of my site. When I searched this topic, I found ways to "strip" the HTML out of the $post variable before submitting it to the database. However, I would just like to make it so you can post any text, including HTML and Javascript, without the browser interpreting it as "run this..." code: I want to display it as plane text. I've seen it on Facebook, and when I looked at it the source code of a post, it showed <, /, and as regular text. I tried "dissecting" Facebook's source code, but found nothing. I have tried using tags such as <pre> and <code>, but because of the lack of ability to style and control them, I gave up and went back to just allowing HTML. • Elegant solution to retrieve custom date and time?

  I am currently using a date and time picker to retrieve a user-submitted date and time, and then I set a control's text to the date and time selected. I am using the following code: new DatePickerDialog(newlog3.this, d, calDT.get(Calendar.YEAR), calDT.get(Calendar.MONTH), calDT.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH)).show(); new TimePickerDialog(newlog3.this, t, calDT.get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY), calDT.get(Calendar.MINUTE), true).show(); optCustom.setText(fmtDT.format(calDT.getTime())); Now, while the above code block does bring up the date and time widgets and sets the text, the code block is being executed in full before the user can select the date.. ie: It brings up the date box first, then the time box over that, and then updates the text, all without any user interaction. I would like the date widget to wait to execute the time selector until the date selection is done, and i would like the settext to execute only after the time widget is done. How is this possible? Or is there is a more elegant solution that is escaping me?   When I move mouse over the container panel, the child panel is displayed but as soon as i move mouse over the child panel, the mouseout event is triggered and panel get hidden. But if I remove the file input from the form, jquery works fine.

• Format textfield while typing Ios

• why does my <br> not work ?

  I am returning a PHP array back to a JQuery call for appending into a div called "name-data". I want my array to be listed vertically, so I concatenate a br tag in the PHP however, when it gets to the HTML page the br is not being rendered, it just comes out as text. I have tried the various forms of br all without luck. I am new to JQuery - What am I doing wrong ? Many Thanks ! • XCode Obj-C: Make new NSArray from one key each out of an Array of Dictionaries

  This actually could be a multipart question. But here's the first part ... I have an array (actually in a plist) of dictionaries. Each dictionary has 3 keys in it: (title), (points), and (description). I am trying to make a NEW array with the values of the key "title" from each dictionary in that first array. Let me explain WHY I am doing this and maybe that will provide a better all around explanation. I am trying to let people pick from a pre-determined list. Heck, if this was a web page it would be very simple since all I really care about are the "points" and the "Title". On a web site I could simply do a drop down combo-box with the "points" being the value and the title being the text for each row. But this is not a web page. So what I am trying to do here is pop out a modal picker when they click the text field. The modal picker shows the alphabetical ordered "titles" from our new array. And whichever one they select, it closes the modal view and assigns that "title" text to the UITextField which cannot be edited by the user. I have some code to get my modal picker to pop out. But I need to feed it an array of just the "titles" of each dictionary in my real array. Thanks in advance (and yes I am a newbie)
