  I spent a VERY long time today looking up a method to alternate row colors within a specified range. There really isn't a lot out there and to be honest what I found just looked over-complicated. • In ASP.NET MVC, how does response.redirect work?

  I have used response.redirect in classic ASP and ASP.NET webforms. However, with MVC 2.0, I am running into something peculiar. I have a private method in a controller class that is used by multiple controller methods to help load and validate some information. This private method is setup to redirect if a problem is discovered to a generic error message page. The big problem I am noticing is that the calling controller class and page view attempt to complete rendering and loading before the redirect actually takes place. This is annoying in development because the View throws exceptions that I need to ignore before my generic error page finally loads. As mentioned above, I am used to the older model of response.redirect which prevented subsequent code on a page from being executed as the new page would then load. Any help or advice on redirects in MVC would be greatly appreciated.

• How to check the compatibility between my program and the .net framework versions?

  Hi all I am writing a program which is targeted to run on .net framework 2.0. I have chosen 2.0 in my VS project. It runs fine on my machine (mine has 2.0 SP2), so there is no compile error. but when I tried to run it on another machine (only with 2.0, no sp), it cannot run. I am aware that I used some method which is supported by 2.0 but only with 2.0 SP2. .net framework 2.0 SP2 seems not being listed in VS IDE, that's why VS cannot give me any warning when I compiled it on my machine. How can I easily check the compatibility of my codes with .net framework 2.0 SP2? or I just have to look at msdn to check every method I have used??? thanks

• Forwarding activity result to parent, with singleTop launch mode

  I have two activities: a MainListActivity, and a DetailViewActivity. DetailViewActivity is set with android:launchMode="singleTop". When clicking an item in the "main list" activity, it launches the "detail view" activity via: startActivityForResult(detailIntent, REQUEST_CODE_DETAIL); If I then call setResult(RESULT_OK, resultData); and finish(); from within the Detail activity, that resultData is received by the "main list" activity's onActivityResult(..) method correctly. However, if I implement a "see previous"/"see next" type of navigation within the Detail activity, and implement it using singleTop, that result no longer gets sent back to the initial activity: Intent nextItemIntent = this.createIntent(nextId); nextItemIntent.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_FORWARD_RESULT); startActivity(nextItemIntent); // at this point, my DetailActivity's onNewIntent() method is called, and the new data is loaded properly But from here, when I call setResult(..) and finish(), my MainList activity never receives the new/updated result. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

• Line breaks in XML are ignored by the SAX Parser

  I am parsing an XML with some CData that contains line breaks. The parser ignores these line breaks. I am trying to figure out a way to catch these newlines in the characters() method and replace them with a break tag for display purposes. I have tried almost everything under the sun and have been scouring stackoverflow for the past 3 hours. I tried every combination of replacing "\n", "\r\n" and so on with a break tag in the characters() method of the parser. I am absolutely helpless right about now.... and would sincerely appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!!!

  I have been developing a managed extensibility framework application for the last several months using the community preview. I have been using the GetExportedValues() method and the PartCreationPolicy(CreationPolicy.NonShared) to fake a class factory (since only the silverlight version supports a factory). This was working great until I upgraded the project to use .net 4.0. There is no error, it just doesn't work. So why did this code stop working?   I program a class in which I have a method which takes an callback object from an external software. At the moment Eclipse says that it does not know the type of the object I gave as argument (it is expectable since I do not specify this type, it's done by the external software). So, I think I need to write an interface for the object which I give as an argument to my method. In this respect I have two questions. Is it really so? Can I solve the mentioned problem in the mentioned way. If it is the case, where should I put this interface? In the same file where my class is? In the class? Outside of the class?

  Say I have an enum something like: enum OrderStatus { AwaitingAuthorization, InProduction, AwaitingDespatch } I've also created an extension method on my enum to tidy up the displayed values in the UI, so I have something like: public static string ToDisplayString(this OrderStatus status) { switch (status) { case Status.AwaitingAuthorization: return "Awaiting Authorization"; case Status.InProduction: return "Item in Production"; ... etc } } Inspired by the excellent post here, I want to bind my enums to a SelectList with an extension method: public static SelectList ToSelectList<TEnum>(this TEnum enumObj) however, to use the DisplayString values in the UI drop down I'd need to add a constraint along the lines of : where TEnum has extension ToDisplayString Obviously none of this is going to work at all with the current approach, unless there's some clever trick I don't know about. Does anyone have any ideas about how I might be able to implement something like this?

• Best approach to update a control after an Ajax request?

  I have a webpage that fires off an Ajax request which stores some data to a database and I want to update the webpage so that the user can see their changes have been submitted. There are at least 3 ways I can think of accomplishing this: Immediately update the webpage with plain JavaScript by grabbing the contents of the user's inputted text and immediately inserting it where it belongs. Have the ajax call return the stored text as the response, grab the response, and then insert this text where it belongs on the page using JavaScript Have the ajax call return a flag (say, true for successful db write, false otherwise), and if the flag is true, use JavaScript to grab the user's contents from the input control and insert it where it belongs elsewhere on the page Or another method not mentioned...? I don't mean this to be subjective, I just don't know which would be the best method to apply. My instinct tells me to go with the third item (return a flag, then update the field). Is this the best way? Thanks

  I'm not sure what is the best way to unsubscribe from a channel when using Retlang. When you subscribe by calling ISubscriber<T>::Subscribe(...) you are returned an IUnsubscriber. This interface has no methods. Going up a level, IChannel<T> also does not have any methods. The only thing I can think of is casting an ISubscriber<T> to the concrete Channel<T> and calling its Unsubscribe() method or adding an Unsubscribe() method to ISubscriber<T>. I'm just curious if anyone knows what they had in mind before I modify the code.

I've tried all the ways I know of but I can't make it work. What's more surprising is that the onSave method works fine. Help !   Is is possible to define service to be active only the times while other service is failing? Consider following example: 2 hosts available: HostA (primary) and HostB (backup). Nagios service, which monitors amount of active connections to the host: gives OK when amount of connections to host 0 gives FAILURE when amount of connections to host = 0 If setup nagios service to monitor both hosts: HostA and HostB - it will give me OK for HostA (while it is primary and all connections normally goes to it) and FAIL for HostB (while it is backup and will receive no connections while HostA is alive). Can I make the nagios service for HostB somehow depend on sevice of HostA and give no failures (or maybe be inactive) up to the moment the service of HostA starts failing?

')'); } than I have message that I added product with MyParam but in cart really I have simple product name from catalog The same thing happent when I trying to do same thing in Mage_Sales_Model_Quote - addProductAdvanced method So where I must change this name to save this name in cart and then in order details too.   I was wondering why the fog i use in opengl es on my android phone isn't transparent when i set the colors alpha to 0.
