  • Hibernate ResultTransformer with JPA API

    Has anyone figured out a smart way to do query result transformation through a similar mechanism like specifying a ResultTransformer in Hibernate? All I can think of is transforming each result row after it has been returned by the Query. Is there any other way? For constructor projections (e.g. new DTO(arg1, arg2)) it can be defined in the JPQL query, at least for Hibernate, but how about other cases?

    Gday All, I am developing a site that uses PayPal to take online payments. I need to be able to send my client an email with the link to PayPal in order to pay. In this link I need a way to set a unique value (for example bookingId) that I can use to add the receipt number to the correct booking via PayPal's payment notification feature.   • Bulk email notifications API for social networking site

    I'm looking to build a social networking site that notifies followers of a particular user when new content has been posted by that user. Since the hope is that the site will eventually have thousands of users with thousands of followers, I'd prefer to use an outside product/service to send the emails rather than building the functionality into the application and dealing with scalability issues. I've looked at MailChimp and a few others out there. Since my use case isn't really email campaigns, these providers don't seem like the right solution. In fact, MailChimp support confirmed for me that my scenario doesn't fit for them. I'm sure others have run into this same requirement. What are others out there using? I'm using .NET so would like to target something that has a .NET wrapper if possible. Any advice would be most appreciated!

    I got the book "Programming Role Playing Games with DirectX 2nd edition" and I notice there are things in the book that are now considered deprecated. There is a whole Section on DirectPlay. And as much as I would like to avoid this section, I am afraid it might screw up the entire engine he is trying to build. So I was just curious to know even though DirectPlay is considered deprecated by XNA, and directX10. Is it possible to use it still in DirectX 9 ??

  • Extracting data from Visual FoxPro databases

    I just got some 20Gb of data in a Visual FoxPro database with a custom frontend probably written in the same framework, and need to extract that data in any well-known format. I don't know anything about VFP in particular, but as it is SQL, there should be a way of opening an SQL console, or maybe an vfpdump utility. How can I do that? Everything I have now are a bunch of obscure binary files and a frontend executable.

    We have developed a ASP.NET web application and has implemented a custom authentication solution using active directory as the credentials store. Our front end application uses a normal login form to capture the user name and password and leverages the Win32 LogonUser method to authenticate the user’s credentials. When we are calling the LogonUser method, we are using the LOGON32_LOGON_NETWORK as the logon type. The issue we have found is that user profile folders are being created under the C:\Users folder of the web server. The folder seems to be created when a new user who has never logged on before is logging in for the first time. As the number of new users logging into the application grows, disk space is shrinking due to the large number of new user folders getting created. Has anyone seen this behavior with the Win32 LogonUser method? Does anyone know how to disable this behavior?

  • Unable to stop chrome.exe *32

    So I was installing roboform today and was unable to stop the process chrome.exe *32... Even when I uninstalled chrome. This is the error I got: I used lockhunter and it said it was located in %appdata%\Local\Google\Chrome. However, it was unable to unlock, delete or rename. When I use explorer to delete or rename that folder, it says it's being used by Chrome. Even after restarting my computer it still does this. I've tried using the built in chrome task manager (Wrench View Background Pages) and I can't seem to find a process there that has the same amount of memory. I have run many, many virus scans, by: Microsoft security essentials AVG (Free version) Malwarebytes (Pro version) Norton 360 (Pro version) McAfee (Pro Version) Avira (Free version) Avast! Antivirus (Free version) None of which returned with any viruses.     I have a .NET assembly (a dll) which is an API to backup software we use here. It contains some properties and methods I would like to take advantage of in my Powershell script(s). However, I am running into a lot of issues with first loading the assembly, then using any of the types once the assembly is loaded. The complete file path is: C:\rnd\CloudBerry.Backup.API.dll In Powershell I use: $dllpath = "C:\rnd\CloudBerry.Backup.API.dll" Add-Type -Path $dllpath I get the error below: Add-Type : Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information. For example: Cookies - %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies History - %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\History Cache - %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files However, for some reason, Internet Explorer occasionally stops using the normal locations and instead creates new folders under %TEMP% and/or %TEMP%\Low for this data.     Currently I’m having some difficulties with using new Magento's soap v2 from c# interface. With php i was able to do something like this: $params["created_at"]["from"] = date("Y-m-d H:i:s",Functions::convert_time($dataDa)); $params["created_at"]["to"] = date("Y-m-d H:i:s",Functions::convert_time($dataA)); MageInterface::getSingleton()->shipmentList($params); In this mode i was able to find list of orders which were created from $dataDa to $dataA without problems. With c# however it seems that only the last one of the selectors work. I have a form that posts to a details page (/Summary/Details), which loads in some data from SQL. I then have a button that opens a dialog box in JQuery, which populates the dialog from a request to (/Operator/Modify). On the dialog box, the form has a combo box and an OK button that lets the user change the operator's name. Upon clicking OK, the form is posted to (/Operator/Modify) and sent through the service and repository layers of my program and updates the record in the database. Then, the RedirectToAction is called to send the user back to the details page (/Summary/Details) where there is a call to pull the data from SQL again, updating the details view. Everything works great, except the details view does not show the new operator that was selected. I can step through the code and see the DCSDataContext class being accessed to update the operator (which does actually change the database record), but when the DCSDataContext is accessed to reload the details objects, it pulls in the old value. I'm guessing that StructureMap is causing not only the DCSDataContext class but also the data to be cached? I have also tried adding the following to the Global.asax, but it just ends up crashing the program telling me the DCSDataContext has been disposed...   • ::LookupAccountSid API Extremely Slow When Targeting x64 Platform (Windows 7)

    During our application startup, we are making a call to ::LookupAccountSid(). When I build targeting the x86 architecture, this call is nearly instantaneous. However, when I target x64 (debug or release), the call generally takes over 40s to complete. Since this is occurring during application startup, the result is fairly unpleasant as it will appear to the user that the application is not launching. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a Dell Studio XPS 16 (Intel Core i7 Q 720). Our application is a native Windows application written in C++.
