  • Problem with multiple select removing more than 1 option

    - by SoLoGHoST
Ok, there seems to be a problem with the JS Code for Opera browsers, as it only removes the last option tag that is selected within a multiple select tag, can someone please help me. Here is the HTML for this: <select id="actions_list" name="layouts" multiple style="height: 128px; width: 300px;"> <option value="forum">forum</option> <option value="collapse">collapse</option> <option value="[topic]">[topic]</option> <option value="[board]">[board]</option> </select> Ofcourse it's within a form tag, but there's a ton more code involved with this form, but here is the relevant info for this. Here is the JS that should handle this, but only removes the last selected option in Opera, not sure about other browsers, but it really needs to remove all selected options, not just the last selected option... argg var action_list = document.getElementById("actions_list"); var i = action_list.options.length; while(i--) { if (action_list.options[i].selected) { action_list.remove(i); } } What is wrong with this? I can't figure it out one bit :( Thanks :)

  • Listing down stored records localStorage | Google Chrome Extensions

    - by Jamie
How do I get to list down the stored records in the for loop? Basically I want it to list down the records like this: '<div id="record_' + number + '">' + localstorage value + '</div>' The number in the class should add 1 every record, e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4 every record it lists down, and so on. The localstorage value should show the localStorage[] but the problem is, the localStorage name has the same, e.g. (clicks on button) it will save the value of the URL into a localStorage I then open the application and shows the window.html inside there is list of stored records by using this: '<div id="record_' + number + '">' + localstorage value + '</div>' INCLUDING the record number to add per record 1, 2, 3, etc... like this: <div id="record_1">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_2">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_3">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_4">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_5">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_6">localstorage value</div> etc...

  • JQuery: Toggle submit button according to if terms are agreed with or not

    - by Svish
I have a checkbox with id terms and a submit button in my form with class registration. I would like the submit button to be disabled initially, and then to be toggled on and off whenever the user toggle on and off the terms checkbox. I would also like to have a confirmation dialog pop up when the submit button is clicked and that if it is confirmed the submit button will be disabled again (to prevent duplicate clicking). I have gotten the last part and the first part working (I think), but I can't figure out how to get the toggling working. This is what I have so far: $(document).ready(function() { // Disable submit button initially $('form.registration input[type=submit]').attr('disabled', 'disabled'); // Toggle submit button whenever the terms are accepted or rejected $('#terms').change(function() { if($('#terms:checked').val() !== null) $('input[type=submit]', this).attr('disabled', ''); else $('input[type=submit]', this).attr('disabled', 'disabled'); }); // Ask for confirmation on submit and disable submit button if ok $('form.registration').submit(function() { if(confirm('Have you looked over your registration? Is everything correct?')) { $('input[type=submit]', this).attr('disabled', 'disabled'); return true; } return false; }); }); Could someone help me make this work? I'm a total JQuery newb at the moment, so any simplifications and fixes are welcome as well.

  • Adding js to a drupal node form

    - by googletorp
In Drupal you can create your own nodetype in a custom module. Doing this you get to create your own form which is all very nice. However if you want to add js the form things get a bit more tricky. If you add the js in the form, the js will only be added form the form when it is loaded. If the user would post the form with validation errors, the form function is not run again and thus the js is not added. Normally you would just create a menu callback and add the js there, but for the node add form, this wont be a possible solution. So what is the best solution for adding js in a node add form, to keep it persistant when the form doesn't validate?

  • Cross browser div center alignment using CSS

    - by Misha Moroshko
What is the easiest way to align a div whose position is relative horizontally and vertically using CSS ? The width and the height of the div is unknown, i.e. it should work for every div dimension and in all major browsers. I mean center alignment. I thought to make the horizontal alignment using: margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; like I did here. Is this a good cross browser solution for horizontal alignment ? How could I do the vertical alignment ?

  • Hide list on blur

    - by bah
    Hi, I have a list showing up when i click on button, the problem is that i want to hide the list whenever it loses focus i.e. user clicks anywhere on a page, but not on that list. How can i do this? Also, you can see how it should look at last.fm, where's list of profile settings (li.profileItem). (ul.del li ul by default is display:none) Basic list structure: <ul class='del'> <li> <button class='deletePage'></button> <ul> <li></li> <li></li> </ul> </li> </ul> My function for displaying this list: $(".deletePage").click(function(){ if( $(this).siblings(0).css("display") == "block" ){ $(this).siblings(0).hide(); } else { $(this).siblings(0).show(); } });

  • How to return id of a submitted form using Prototype?

    - by pstinnett
I have a page that has several ajax submission forms. Each form has a dynamic id assigned to it when it's written to the page. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to return the id of the form that is being submitted? I'm basically looking to click "submit" and alert the id of the submitted form. From there I can use it in the ajax onSuccess function.

  • jquery - dom manipulation

    - by grega g
I would like to show in dialog all elements with specific class. The dialog should hide the rest of the page. So for example: On this SO page I want to show all elements with class="user-info". Those elements would be shown in dialog with same width and height and same css and everything else would be hidden. It would be like cutting them out of the page and pasting them in a dialog. Any ideas how this could be done?

  • Quicker searching in JScript using the Bash

    - by gentlesea
I am using the following JScript code to search for a string inside a file: var myFile = aqFile.OpenTextFile(fileToSearchIn, aqFile.faRead, aqFile.ctANSI); while(!myFile.IsEndOfFile()) { s = myFile.ReadLine(); if (aqString.Find(s, searchString) != -1) Log.Checkpoint(searchString + " found.", s); } myFile.Close(); This is rather slow. I was thinking about using bash commands in order to speed up the search in file process: var WshShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell"); var oExec = WshShell.Exec("C:\\cygwin\\bin\\bash.exe -c 'cat \"" + folderName + "/" + fileName + "\"'"); while (!oExec.StdOut.AtEndOfStream) Log.Checkpoint(oExec.StdOut.ReadLine()); while (!oExec.StdErr.AtEndOfStream) Log.Error(oExec.StdErr.ReadLine()); Since every time bash.exe is started a new window opens the searching is not faster than before. Is there a possibility to have the bash run in the background using another switch?

  • Web Workers - Transferable Objects for JSON

    - by kclem06
    HTML 5 Web workers are very slow when using worker.postMessage on a large JSON object. I'm trying to figure out how to transfer a JSON Object to a web worker - using the 'Transferable Objects' types in Chrome, in order to increase the speed of this. Here is what I'm referring to and appears it should speed this up quite a bit: http://updates.html5rocks.com/2011/12/Transferable-Objects-Lightning-Fast I'm having trouble finding a good example of this (and I don't believe I want to use an ArrayBuffer). Any help would be appreciated. I'm imagining something like this: worker = new Worker('workers.js'); var large_json = {}; for(var i = 0; i < 20000; ++i){ large_json[i] = i; large_json["test" + i] = "string"; }; //How to make this call to use Transfer Objects? Takes approx 2 seconds to serialize this for me currently. worker.webkitPostMessage(large_json);

  • QWidget keyPressEvent override

    - by eaigner
Hi there, I'm trying for half an eternity now overriding QWidgets keyPressEvent function in QT but it just won't work. I've to say i am new to CPP, but I know ObjC and standard C. My problem looks like this: class QSGameBoard : public QWidget { Q_OBJECT public: QSGameBoard(QWidget *p, int w, int h, QGraphicsScene *s); signals: void keyCaught(QKeyEvent *e); protected: virtual void keyPressEvent(QKeyEvent *event); }; QSGameBoard is my QWidget subclass and i need to override the keyPressEvent and fire a SIGNAL on each event to notify some registered objects. My overridden keyPressEvent in QSGameBoard.cpp looks like this: void QSGameBoard::keyPressEvent(QKeyEvent *event) { printf("\nkey event in board: %i", event->key()); //emit keyCaught(event); } When i change QSGameBoard:: to QWidget:: it receives the events, but i cant emit the signal because the compiler complains about the scope. And if i write it like this the function doesn't get called at all. What's the problem here?

  • How to find length of JSON using JSON.parse?

    - by Amol
    I have a Json like this {"0":{"parent_id":1649,"id":"1803","last_update_on":"2010-12-24 07:01:49","message":"dhb;lxd","created_by_id":"21","created_by_name":"Amol Deshpande"}}. - by Ahmed Fouad
Here is my HTML code: <ul id="gallery"> <li id="attachment-32" class="featured"><a href="..." title=""><img src="..." alt="" /></a></li> <li id="attachment-34"><a href="..." title=""><img src="..." alt="" /></a></li> <li id="attachment-38"><a href="..." title=""><img src="..." alt="" /></a></li> <li id="attachment-64"><a href="..." title=""><img src="..." alt="" /></a></li> <li id="attachment-75"><a href="..." title=""><img src="..." alt="" /></a></li> <li></li> </ul> Here is my sample ajax request: $.ajax({ url: '/ajax/upload.php', type: 'POST', data: { ... }, success: function(data){ } }); Here is what I want to achieve. How to get the attachment number in ID attribute for every LI inside the gallery UL only when an ID attr is there and pass them via ajax data in this way: { attached : '32,34,38,64,75' } if there is a better way of doing this let me know I want to pass the list items which contain attachments to process. How to get the list item LI which has class of featured e.g. { featured_img : .. } and pass the attachment ID number if featured LI exists, and if none of list items is featured pass featured_img with 0. So i know how to process it via php in the request. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

  • Script files returning 404 Error.

    - by Seth Duncan
Hi, I'm using ASP.Net and whenever I create a script file or try to include a script file like jQuery they aren't working. I am doing just a regular localhost server and none of the scripts are working. Upon further examination using firebug I look at whats being referenced in those scripts and it shows html code for a 404 error. I know the scripts and files are there and I can navigate directly to them in the browser but for some reason I can't reference them in my page. Here is a screenshot:

  • iframe.document.body.scrollHeight is double the correct value

    - by Dean J
    <iframe name="asdf" id="asdf" onload="change_height(this)" src="asdf.jsp" width="250" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe> function change_height(iframe) { if (document.all) { // IE. ieheight = iframe.document.body.scrollHeight; iframe.style.height = ieheight; } else { // Firefox. ffheight= iframe.contentDocument.body.offsetHeight; iframe.style.height = ffheight+ 'px'; } } ieheight is twice the actual height when this runs in IE7; haven't tested on IE6. It's the same value if I use scrollHeight or offsetHeight. It's the correct height in Firefox. Before I patch this by just dividing the IE value /2, what's the right way to do this?

  • Ajax call from Bookmarklet

    - by Adam Haile
I am trying to create a bookmarklet that, upon clicking, would request some information from the user (a url and a couple other fields in this case) and then send that data to a php page on my server and then display the result. I would like to do an Ajax call for this so that I don't actually redirect to the new page, just get the data but I assume I would run into the "Same Origin Policy" limitation of Ajax.... is there any known way of basically doing the same thing? Also, what would be the best way to pass the parameters? I already have a mechanism in place to recieve the parameters as a post message from a form...is there any way I could just reuse this?
