    Using JDO / DataNucleus / NeoDatis datastore I added @Unique to a field of a persistable object, however I am allowed to create multiple objects which violate the unique constraint. The docs for DataNucleus/NeoDatis suggest that Unique fields are supported. @PersistenceCapable public class User { @Persistent @Unique private String username; //... } If I add multiple objects to the DB with the same username there's no problem doing so. :(

  • Is Perforce's C++ P4API thread-safe?

    Simple question - is the C++ API provided by Perforce thread-safe? There is no mention of it in the documentation. By "thread-safe" I mean for server requests from the client. Obviously there will be issues if I have multiple threads trying to set client names and such on the same connection. But given a single connection object, can I have multiple threads fetching changelists, getting status, translating files through a p4 map, etc.?

Is it possible to lock individual objects in a collection instead of locking the entire collection so that only threads trying to access the same object in the collection would get blocked instead of every thread? If there is a better way to update objects in a collection from multiple threads, I'm all ears.

    Hi Guys, I have a trigger that sends an email once a value has been changed. It works when i make any amendments but when the users make the changes it fails. I have figured out the users havnt got permission to send mails in master.dbo.xp_sendmail The way the DB was originally setup wis shocking!! (each user has a network login rather than being part of a network group) Is there anyway i can allow a role in customerDb to access the xp_sendmail proc in the mater db? Thanks Sp

So I have this program on the MAC but I want two users in my team to be able to use this program, is there any way more than one person can VNC or remote desktop or something to the MAC server?     I have an application and around 20 accounts are created per minute (on average). I need to implement a new feature which requires the ID of the last insert. I am using PDO. The question is, lets say 5 users create accounts at exactly the same time. Will it return the ID from the database for that users profile that was just created, or will it return the last insert? If you get what I mean.
