• Help using mod_jk to forward to backend app server

  I had mod-jk working a while ago but after switching servers and modifying some files, it no longer works. I am using mod_jk-1.2.28 with JBoss 4.2.3 as the backend. In the JBoss server.xml file I have the AJP 1.3 connector defined on port 8009 and I am binding jboss to the server's new IP address. The app I am trying to forward to is deployed as: [TomcatDeployer] deploy, ctxPath=/ManualAlerts, warUrl=.../tmp/deploy/tmp8097651929280250028ManualAlertsApp.ear-contents/ManualAlerts-exp.war/ On the web server, I have worker.properties with a worker set for the JBoss address and port 8009. The mod-jk.conf has JkMount /ManualAlerts/* worker1. Shouldn't this forward all requests to the web server with the URL http://address/ManualAlerts/ to the backend app named ManualAlerts? In the mod-jk.log it shows connect to (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8009) failed, and the app-server address is correct here, too. I cannot figure out what's causing the issue.

• Visual Studio project using the Quality Center API remains in memory

  Hi, Currently developing a connector DLL to HP's Quality Center. I'm using their (insert expelative) COM API to connect to the server. An Interop wrapper gets created automatically by VStudio. My solution has 2 projects: the DLL and a tester application - essentially a form with buttons that call functions in the DLL. Everything works well - I can create defects, update them and delete them. When I close the main form, the application stops nicely. But when I call a function that returns a list of all available projects (to fill a combo box), if I close the main form, VStudio still shows the solution as running and I have to stop it. I've managed to pinpoint a single function in my code that when I call, the solution remains "hung" and if I don't, it closes well. It's a call to a property in the TDC object get_VisibleProjects that returns a List (not the .Net one, but a type in the COM library) - I just iterate over it and return a proper list (that I later use to fill the combo box): public List<string> GetAvailableProjects() { List<string> projects = new List<string>(); foreach (string project in this.tdc.get_VisibleProjects(qcDomain)) { projects.Add(project); } return projects; } My assumption is that something gets retained in memory. If I run the EXE outside of VStudio it closes - but who knows what gets left behind in memory? My question is - how do I get rid of whatever calling this property returns? Shouldn't the GC handle this? Do I need to delve into pointers? Things I've tried: getting the list into a variable and setting it to null at the end of the function Adding a destructor to the class and nulling the tdc object Stepping through the tester function application all the way out, whne the form closes and the Main function ends - it closes, but VStudio still shows I'm running. • How to make sure Solr/Lucene won't die with java.lang.OutOfMemoryError?

  I'm really puzzled why it keeps dying with java.lang.OutOfMemoryError during indexing even though it has a few GBs of memory. Is there a fundamental reason why it needs manual tweaking of config files / jvm parameters instead of it just figuring out how much memory is available and limiting itself to that? No other programs except Solr ever have this kind of problem. Yes, I can keep tweaking JVM heap size every time such crashes happen, but this is all so backwards. • How to use 3rd party libraries in glassfish?

  I need to connect to a MongoDB instance from my EJB3 application, running on glassfish 3.0.1. The Mongo project provides a set of drivers, and I'm able to use them in a standalone Java application. How would I use them in a JEE application? Or maybe better phrasing: how would I make a 3rd party library available to my application when it runs in an EJB container? At the moment, I'm getting a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError when deploying a bean that tries to import from the library: [#|2010-03-24T11:42:15.164+0100|SEVERE|glassfishv3.0|global|_ThreadID=28;_ThreadName=Thread-1;|Class [ com/mongodb/DBObject ] not found. Currently, I am sending my GET and POST requests the same way: HttpConnection connection = (HttpConnection) Connector.open(url + connectionParameters); connection.setRequestMethod(method); connection.setRequestProperty("WWW-Authenticate", "OAuth realm=api.netflix.com"); int responseCode = connection.getResponseCode(); And this is working fine. I am successfully POSTing and GETing. However, I am worried that I am not doing POST the right way.   Hello, I've started to read the book "Code Craft" by Pete Goodliffe. The fourth chapter is about instruments that developer uses during his daily work; this chapter made me to review my work and I've seriously decided to make it easier with fully personalized IDE. Eclipse IDE is what I've started my learning from... I've read documentation and found that it's really easy to do tasks routine from Eclipse. We are using Mantis for tracking tasks and it was great surprise for me to find out Mantis Connector for Mylyn. Also I was pretty glad to see SVN client integrated into Eclipse IDE. Also I've found UML2 tool for Eclipse, but was disappointed because there is no any graphic interface for building diagramms. (Or, maybe, I'm was searching in wrong place?) What useful plugins do you use in your daily work? How do you use Eclipse for collaboration in your team? Do you have any links about intergration Eclipse IDE experience in dev. team? Thank you!

  I have a Moose class that i would like to store using Apache::Session::File. However, Apache::Session::File by default will not store it and instead i get the error message: (in cleanup) Can't store CODE items at blib\lib\Storable.pm (autosplit into blib\lib\auto\Storable\_freeze.al)... This problem can be circumvented by setting $Storable::Deparse = 1; $Storable::Eval = 1; in order to allow CODE references to be serialized.   I have recently begun using Scala. I've written a DSL in it which can be used to describe a processing pipeline in medici. In my DSL, I've made use of symbols to signify an anchor, which can be used to put a fork (or a tee, if you prefer) in the pipeline. • Using SDL Tridion 2011 Core Service to create Components programatically

  I have seen some of the questions/answers related to this topic here, however still I am not getting the suggestion which I want. So I am posting my question again here, and I would be thankful for your valuable time and answers. I would like to create “Component, Page, SG, Publication, Folders “ via programmatically in SDL Tridion Content Manager, and later on, I would like to add programmatically created components in Page and attach CT,PT for that page, and finally would like to publish the page programmatically. I have done these all the activities in SDL Tridion 2009 using TOM API (Interop DLL's), and I tried these activities in SDL Tridion 2011 using TOM.Net API. It was not working and later on I came to know that, TOM.Net API will not support these kinds of works and it is specifically only for Templates and Event System. And finally I came to know I have to go for Core services to do these kinds of stuffs. My Questions: When I create console application to create component programmatically using core service, what are the DLL’s I have to add as reference? Earlier, I have created the exe and ran in the TCM server, the exe created all the stuffs, can I used the same approach using core services too? Will it work? Is BC still available or Core Service replaced BC? (BC-Business Connector) Can anyone send some code snippet to create Component/Page (complete class file will be helpful to understand better) Thanks Jai

My log file in /var/lib/tomcat6/logs says nothing. I can't figure out if this is a problem with my keystore file, my server.xml file or my web.xml file.... Any assistance is appreciated I am using tomcat 6 on ubuntu.

This is intended to be run in /etc/init.d/tomcat on startup of the service on multiple installations on which the realm is going to be different. I'm not so sure how can I do this simply with awk or sed.

• Configuring mod_rewrite and mod_jk for Apache 2.2 and JBoss 4.2.3

  Hello! My problem is as follows: I have JBoss 4.2.3 application server with AJP 1.3 connector running on one host under Windows (192.168.1.2 for my test environment) and Apache 2.2.14 running on another FreeBSD box (192.168.1.10). Apache acts as a "front gate" for all requests and sends them to JBoss via mod_jk. Everything was working fine until I had to do some SEO optimizations. These optimizations include SEF urls, so i decided to use mod_rewrite for Apache to alter requests before they are sent to JBoss. Basically, I nedd to implement 2 rules: Redirect old rules like "http://hostname/directory/" to "http://hostname/" with permanent redirect Forward urls like "http://hostname/wtf/123/" to "http://hostname/wtf/view.htm?id=123" so that end user doesn't see the "ugly" URL (the actual rewrite). Here is my Apache config for test virtual host: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] DocumentRoot "/usr/local/www/dummy" ServerName 192.168.1.10 <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteRule /directory/(.*) /$1 [R=permanent,L] RewriteRule ^/([^/]+)/([0-9]+)/?$ /$1/view.htm?id=$2 </IfModule> JkMount /* jsp-hostname ErrorLog "/var/log/dummy-host.example.com-error_log" CustomLog "/var/log/dummy-host.example.com-access_log" common </VirtualHost> The problem is that second rewrite rule doesn't work. But if I add redirect flag to the second rule like RewriteRule ^/([^/]+)/([0-9]+)/?$ /$1/view.htm?id=$2 [R,L] it works like a charm. But redirect is not what I need here :) . I suspect that the problem is that requests are forwarded to the another host (192.168.1.2), but I really don't have any idea on how to make it work. Any help would be appreciated :)

I've been testing it out with multiple devices and the simulator and it works fine, but there's just the one Blackberry 9000 (It's not the model, I've tried it out with another Blackberry 9000), and it's stuck waiting for a response from the server. • Why are Managed Beans not loaded in Tomcat?

  Hi, I created a JSF 2 web application with facelets. The libs for JSF where stored at tomcat/lib, to share it between several applications. I thought maybe it would be better to store the libs inside the WEB-INF/lib folder of the application, to get the application more independent from server configurations. Now when I start tomcat via eclipse, the managed beans are loaded and working. But when I start tomcat directly / standalone the managed beans are not loaded automatically. I used @ManagedBean @SessionScoped / @RequestScoped annotations to declare classes as managed beans. Why is this? What can I do to fix it? I don't use any faces-config.xml file yet.
