  Hi All! I'm having an issue interacting between Matlab and .NET. I've managed to call .NET methods from Matlab code and vice versa. However, if I call a .NET method that, in turn, instantiates a Matlab object, it crashes (with a type initialization exception). Think about this scenario: a .NET assembly is interacting with a Matlab dll that was deployed for .NET (not native) by Matlab's deploytool. Now, when I'm loading the above .NET dll in a Matlab program everything is ok until I run a method that utilizes the other Matlab dll. Only then everything crashes. The exact message is: Warning: Cannot initialize MATLAB Compiler-generated software component in MATLAB. MATLAB Compiler-generated software components cannot be used from within MATLAB. Please don't offer not to use Matlab-.NET-Matlab architecture, it's not an option. Thank you very much (I promise to accept the answer that solves the problem :-)), Yaron.

I'd like to have the assembly output mixed with my C source file so I can easily trace where my problem lies. This is for an ARMv6 core and apparently objdump doesn't support this architecture.   I'm getting the following error in Xcode 3.2.1 on Snow Leopard 10.6.2 whenever I try to compile any iPhone application generated by Appcelerator's Titanium . However , the build error only appears when I select iPhone simulator on the architecture menu , and if I select iPhone device , I am able to run the app on my device . Further , the iPhone simulator launches successfully and executes the program directly from the Titanium environment , which uses Xcode to build . Ideally I'd like an application architecture that will permit me to develop an app using a lightweight reference GUI/kit and focus on non gui aspects to produce a quality app which is GUI enabled/friendly. I would want APP and the GUI to be sufficiently decoupled to maximize the ease for you GUI experts to plug the app into to some target GUI design/framework/context. e.g. targets such as: termcap GUI, web app GUI framework, desktop GUI, thin client GUI. In short: How do I mostly ignore the GUI, but avoid painting you into a corner when I don't even know who you are yet?

  Hi, I have started using the s#arp architecture which uses FNhibernate and GeneratedBy.HiLo to generate primary keys (there is also table hibernate_unique_key). Apparently, this is recommended practise and I would like to stick with this. Now to my problem. I have used NHibernate and hbm mapping quite a bit and usually used identity columns for my primary keys. This allowed me to seed the database using SQL. Can I do this with the aforementioned setup (hibernate_unique_key table etc.). I need to do this as SQL insert is much more efficient than using NHibernate + C# to seed the db with a million entities. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Christian

But I'm running into some issues: When I directly try to build it right after download I get the error "Foundation/Foundation.h" no such file or directory. The Active SDK is "Use Base SDK" and the active architecture is x86_64. I believe I should set the Active SDK to the iPhone SDK but it isn't listed there; At some point (I don't remember how) I managed to tweak it and I got the iPhone SDK (simulator) in the active SDK but when I tried to build it I got the following error: "target specifies product type 'com.apple.product-type.framework', but there's no such product type for the 'iphonesimulator' platform"; And now I'm stuck.   Hi We are looking at integrating some of our coarse grained business Services using an Event Driven Architecture (EDA) and the server side of these Services (REST) are implemented in both Java and .NET (C#). We originally thought of using RabbitMQ (and AMQP protocol) as a neutral and open means (with good client support in these two languages), but it means having to support another runtime (Erlang) alongside Java and the CLR. We are also looking at Apache qPid as that has a Java broker implementation of the AMQP protocol which might eliminate that concern. Does anyone have any experience of trying to use the richer Apache Camel ESB on top of ActiveMQ to integrate Java and .NET Services in a Pub-Sub EDA manner? Have I missed any other possible suggestions as to a route through this? Thanks

But I found that after hundreds of object creations I can have StackOverflow exception. I checked my code and saw that I forgot to remove the handler to Timer Tick. The question is, where and when is it correct to remove hadler? Do I need to implement the IDisposable interface in the base class and RemoveHandler in Dispose?

  Hi, I am trying to figure out what 'topic' this is called, so I can learn more about it. Basically, I'm talking about designing my applications's architecture. I'm not talking about algorithms. More like -- this class should have these methods and these instance variables, and communicate with this class in this way, this class should have these responsibilities etc. Can anybody tell me what the name of this topic is called and how I can get better at doing this?   Hello, Does anyone know what does the following error mean: +entityForName: could not locate an NSManagedObjectModel for entity name 'TAB_RSS' I noticed my frameworks were highlighted in red UIKIT.framework, Foundation.framework and CoreGraphics.framework. I've now added these but am getting a warning message stating "missing required architecture i386 in file". I think this may be related to the above error. I found another post that may help me http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...e-i386-in-file but I can't find my project.pbxproj file. I think i need to edit this and remove references to the FRAMEWORK_SEARCH_PATHS. Stephen

• Advice? SSO in N-tiered SOA with mixture of REST and SOAP services

  Hi gang, We are moving to SSO in our N-tiered SOA applications. If all the services were SOAP, I'd be ok with just the WS-Security, WS-Trust, WS-Federation set of protocols. My problem is that many of the services are RESTful (ironic) and those protocols do not address REST services. What is your advice for SSO protecting the REST services in an N-tiered SOA architecture with the following requirements: ideally claims-based identity information available to the REST services original user (eg. bootstrap) information must flow through the tiers so that each service can "ActAs" or "OnBehalfOf" the user support sequences like: WebApp -- REST Svc -- SOAP Svc WebApp -- REST Svc1 -- REST Svc2 WebApp -- SOAP Svc -- REST Svc WebApp -- SOAP Svc1 -- SOAP Svc2 support SSO (and SSOff) service/web app platforms: ASP.Net and WCF Java end-user client platforms: .Net (WSE 3.0 and WCF) flash 10 java javascript and AJAX Normally I'm good at climbing / bashing my way through walls, but this one's knocked me flat. • Is Visual Studio 2010 WebDev WebServer (Cassini) 64-bit compatible?

  I'm now developing on Visual Studio 2008 on a 64-bit OS (Windows Server 2008 64-bit). While the apps I write are 64-bit capable, as is IIS7, the built-in ASP.NET Development Server (aka Cassini aka WebDev.Webserver.exe) runs as 32-bit. This brings up a plethora of issues, such as: 32-bit and 64-bit applications have separate HKLM\Software registry homes There are 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the SQL Server Client Network Utility Other fun surprises I haven't discovered but I'm sure will spring up While I am finding workarounds for most of this, I have to ask... Does anyone who has played with the Visual Studio 2010 preview bits on 64-bit architecture know if the development web servers can handle 64-bit, and if so, are there options for which mode to run it in? (Like a checkbox in the project properties, for instance)

• sudo port install cmake trouble (for MGTwitterEngine)

  I am following This Tutorial on installing MGTwitterEngine on my MAC osx 10.6.2. I am stuck on this step: sudo port install cmake it gives me the following error: dlopen(/opt/local/share/macports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib, 10): no suitable image found. Did find: /opt/local/share/macports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib: no matching architecture in universal wrapper while executing "load /opt/local/share/macports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib" ("package ifneeded Pextlib 1.0" script) invoked from within "package require Pextlib 1.0" (file "/opt/local/bin/port" line 40) Rex-MacBook-Pro:~ Rex$ Thus, I cannot use TERMINAL to install YAJL to get my app to build. • ClickOnce and mageUI adding custom file folder problems

  What I do: Publishing .Net 3.5 application via VS, or msbuild (whatever), and now I need to insert to the published application separate directory (Modules - not added as a reference to the project - our project architecture does not allow this). So I'm copying the folder to published location then runs mageUI.exe select the application manifest and then the problems starts. As I press the populate button it's adding also hidden directory? So I remove the directory, after I want to save the manifest file I get the "Warning MSB3110: Assembly 'NAME.Shell.application.deploy' has mismatched identity 'NAME.Shell.application', expected file name: 'NAME.Shell.application.application'". Did you have the same problems, according to http://smartclient.codeplex.com/Project/Download/FileDownload.aspx?DownloadId=5060 it should be easy as 1-2-3 but it's not.

• Application with two UITabBarControls

  Hello, I want to create an app, whith the following structure: UITabBarController ..UINavigationController ....UITabBarController So, in other words, I want to load first UITabbarController as my main ViewController, that appears on application start, in its' first tab there's a UINavigationController with a table, which shows another UITabBarController by pressing on a table cell. I started Tab Based application, set first tab to UINavigationController, and its ViewController to my TableViewController. I also created second UITabBarController in Interface Builder. Created a separate class for this controller. Everything works fine at start - my first UITabBarController is shown perfectly, but when I'm trying to push my second UITabBarController, using my UINavigationController, it looks like nothing is loaded from a .xib file - there are just an empty TabBar and NavigationBar pushed. Seems, that something is wrong with an architecture, but I can't figure out the problem. Thanks in advance and I'm sorry for my poor English. Please let me know if something is not clear, I'll try to rephrase it :).
