• Mac: How to see list of running network services?

  I am writing an application that needs to connect with a running network service on a Mac. Problem is, I have no idea what the service is called or even what port it uses. Is there a way to browse all running network services on my Mac? More info: I am connecting to a MIDI network session (found under 'Audio MIDI settings', present on all OSX installs). Am I correct in thinking this is a network service? I am planning to use NSNetServiceBrowser to locate all local computers running this service. (is this the best way to go about it?) Any help is much appreciated - thanks!

• Cookie Blocked popup in IE

  I have a website hosted in a server named msa_inst_server. In my login page ,after user enter the username,i will check whether cookies are available or not,But when i access the login page in IE 6.0 in one machine in the local network,I am getting a pop up saying that I have added the site to trusted zone,changed the settings to allow all cookies.But no way to get rid of this problem. Any thoughts.... ? Does the underscore in the server name matters ? Thanks in advance

• Creating a virtual, data-driven section of a Wordpress-powered site

  Hello all, I want to create a plugin for wordpress to automatically serve pages containing data pulled from a provider's API. The API returns one or more records containing data for that record and I simply want to have the plugin intercept the request, call the API with parameters pulled from the request URI and display the data using a template that I can either let them upload to the server or let them copy and paste into the plugins admin settings. For example, I may want one of my wordpress installations to show products pulled from such an API under the url "example.com/products". The plugin would catch that request, extract the variables from the URL, call the API and render the template with the returned results. I'd like to avoid requiring editing the .htaccess file like some caching plugins do. Some of the admins of these pages won't know how to do that or simply won't have access to the .htaccess file. • How can I generate XML application configuration using Zend_Tool?

  When creating a new project using zf create project myproject it will create a default project layout with an application.ini in the configs folder. Where can I change these default settings so that it generates (and uses) an XML file (application.xml)? I've looked at the documentation for Zend_Tool (http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.tool.html), but there seems to be no information on how to do this. And suppose you'd like to use a different default folder layout (ie. use htdocs instead of public as your document root), is there a way to specify this as well? Any pointers to relevant information (btw I've looked at the Quickstart, nothing relevant is mentioned there unless I'm overlooking it)? edit I already tried creating a profile (stored in .zf/project/profiles), and used that to create a project (using zf create project myproject myprofile) but that doesn't change anything, even though the .zfproject.xml file in the root of the new project does contain the <applicationConfigFile type="xml"/> setting...   I ned to write a code sniplet that enables to disable connection to some parts of a site. Admin and the mainpage will be displayable, but user section (which uses ajax) will be displayed, but can not be used (vith a transparent div set over the page). • Write-access for c# app in it's own exe dir in Windows 7

  I know that user accounts in Windows 7 are limited by default, so a program cannot just write anywhere on the system (as it was possible in Win XP). But I thought that it would be possible that e.g. a c# app is allowed to write inside it's own exe-directory or it's subfolders at least (not everything is 'user settings' or should be written to "MyDocuments"...). So currently my c# app throws an UnauthorizedAccessException when trying to write inside the exe dir. Is there anything you can do in c# code to allow writing inside the exe dir?

• Compile C++ from VS08/10 without Run Time Library / MFC

  Are there settings I can adjust in Visual Studio so that it does not compile with any run time library or MFC. I started learning C++ to get away from C#'s .Net, and this is just as bad. When I execute the program in a Windows XP virtual machine I get an error. I can compile without the dependencies in Code::Blocks, but I'm more familiar with VS, and prefer many of it's features over those of Code::Blocks. If you know of to get past this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  Hi, like exposed here, one can set a MEDIA_URL in settings.py (for example i'm pointing to Amazon S3) and serve the files in the view via {{ MEDIA_URL }}. Since MEDIA_URL is not automatically in the context, one have to manually add it to the context, so, for example, the following works: #views.py from django.shortcuts import render_to_response from django.template import RequestContext def test(request): return render_to_response('test.html', {}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) This means that in each view.py file i have to add from django.template import RequestContext and in each response i have to explicitly specify context_instance=RequestContext(request).   I have installed IIS in my system (WINDOWS-XP). While i am seeing IIS window, the Default web site is in stop mode. when i am ready to start IIS. It shows "Unexpected error 0x8ffe2740 occurred" Finally, I discovered that its caused by Skype. It listens to port 80 for incoming call. Now, most of the time IIS starts before Skype starts. So IIS works but if you restart IIS or try to start IIS after Skype is started then you will get this error message. For this, I changed my Skype settings Skype File-> Options -> Connection Uncheck Use Port 80 as an alternative for incoming connections. But even though i am unable to start my IIS. Please help me some one.. Thanks.

  I followed the Djangoappengine instructions. I used their django-testapp and copied the following folders in the django-testapp folder according to what I understood the instructions to say: django djangoappengine djangotoolbox I then started the dev server by running: manage.py runserver Then navigated to http://localhost:8000/ and got the "It worked!" page, which is great, but it says the following at the bottom: You're seeing this message because you have DEBUG = True in your Django settings file and you haven't configured any URLs. Get to work! I am an absolute beginner with Django and App Engine and Djangoappengine and Django-nonrel, so I am pretty lost. How do I configure URLs? Or a link to the how to will help. I took a look at the Django tutorial, but am unsure how much of it is relevant to Djangoappengine and Django-nonrel as a lot of the starting steps have to do with SQL databases. Basically some direction on how to get my app running will be great. Thanx much.

  I'm currently taking the MS SQL 2K5 Admin course at a local college and ran into a problem with the Log Shipping part. My setup is the following: Windows 7 x64 SQL 2005 SP3 2 SQL server instances on the same machine Log Shipping settings: Performed full then log back up of Primary Manually restore on Secondary in STANDBY MODE Insert a new record into the table Set up Log Shipping on Primary using SQL Authenication login to connect to the Secondary Set up timers and copy destination on Secondary Monitoring instance not being used I set up a shared folder for WORKGROUP so both instances on the machine can read & write to it. I can see transaction logs generated and copied as defined by the Transaction Shipping wizard. However, the specified table on the Secondary instance is not updating.

  I have an Sql Compact Database v3.5 that I'm bundling with my application. When the application is installed, the database is copied into the application's Program Files directory. Because of Vista and Win7's security settings, the installed application can't access the database file. It is merely a problem of having the database file reside in the Program Files. The solution I have thought of is to copy the file into Program Data, but does anyone have another solution? I am sure others have come across a similar problem. Thanks in advance for your input.

  I using the FileWatcher Class to locate changes on Files in a specific Folder. I managed to detect Changes on Files but not detailed Information. • Android : Stop image scaling down

  Hi, I'm trying to draw an image in a view but having problems trying to maintain the scale of the original image. Basically, I have a small view and I would like to show part of the image in the view. The intention then is to perform a translation on the image so that a different part appears in the view. No matter what I try, either the image is down-scaled automatically to fit the view or the whole image is viewable. I've tried playing about with the settings on BitmapDrawable, ImageView and Layout to no avail. Anyone know a good way to achieve this?

  Hello I was here trying to figure out why my Reports manager is empty, there's no tabs at all. I installed SQL Server 2008 complete, but didn't not configure Reporting Services. When installing SQL Server 2008, this Windows 7 version didn't have yet IIS installed, I installed it later. I don't see where is this localhost/Reports physically on my Hard Drive, where is the physic folder? I don't see on IIS where is Report folder, would it exist? The site settings people talk about, I can't find it. The "Reporting Services" service is running on automatic at SQL Server Configuration Manager. How can I get Reporting Services this working without struggling? (I can't see why is necessary to customize all these user permissions)

• Textfield being dequeued before textFieldDidEndEditing is called?

  I am using a uitableview with a bunch of dynamically created custom cells each with a label and textfield similar to the settings app on the phone. Problem occurs when i have a lot of textfields say 20, the user selects the first textfield, changes its value then scrolls to the end of the table and selects the last textfield to edit. I get a EXEC_BAD_ACCESS in the textFieldDidEndEditing method because i think the textfield value is nil?? I think this might be happending because the 1st textfield that was being edited is being dequeued when the table is scrolled. Everything works fine if you select textfields that are next to each other. Any ideas how to fix this?

• Previewing php pages inside Expression Web 3 suddently stopped working

  On a Windows 7 development machine, I have expression web 3, PHP 5 installed I have been using expression web and PHP for a while, and previewing php pages etc on pressing F12 (preview using local server). Suddenly on F12 all PHP pages display as blank, even a phpinfo() file. Standard html pages continue to work correctly on F12. If I place the same page php inside the default website on inetpub and browse using localhost then the phpinfo() file works. So I know that php is installed and configured correctly for IIS. Things I've checked: Gone into site settings in Expression web and confirmed that php is selected and it is pointing to the php executable Reinstalled php Checked iis that the php extension is registered. Copied files to a different machine with expression web and php installed and it works on. The strange thing is that it gives a blank (no errors) page inside expression web, but does work inside inetpub This was working up until recently, then suddenly stopped for no reason.

  I've a Html page index.htm which has an iframe to page search.htm the search.htm has code like this function executeSearch() { window.parent.location = "/SearchResults.aspx?t=" + txt_Search.value; } this code executed now from index.htm page and it works great on IE and Chrome, but not FireFox ... is there any work around ?? I tried window.parent.location.href, window.opener.location, window.parent.document.location ... but nothing of those worked. after searching the web i found some one with similar prob he said that this is a security settings in Firefox ... is this true?? and if so is there any workaround ?
