  • What statistics app should I use for my website?

    I have my own server (with root access). I need statistics of users who visit my website etc etc... I have looked at an app called Webalyzer... Is this a good choice? I run apache2 on a Ubuntu 9 system... If you know of any good statistics apps for servers please let me know. And a follow-up question: All statistics are saved in log-files right? So how large would these log-files become then? Possibility to split them would be good, dont know if this is possible with Webalyzer though...

    I am new to PhpMyAdmin. I will like to create a foreign key for my tables. In fact i have create tableI with this structures(A as int(11) autoincrement, B as varchar) TableII ( A_2 as int(11) auto increment, B_2 as varchar, A as int(11).     I have a database with details of daily sales. To query a database, I have a form in a view with parameters that will query as date of admission, client and others. The result is shown in another view with the daily details of income, and below is a summary of the article do all entered. The summary I wish to transfer to another view, try to view :: composer but only transfer the empty query (I saw it with debug bar). Just appeared an empty view. How I can transfer data from the database without the latter view is empty? The second html view is totaly diferent , only the data is the same.

(my keys are really long, but repetititve) How do I build a separate table out that has (key, keyID) and then alternate my table to be mytable( id, keyID, value) and keyTable(keyID, key) ?

  • Should user preferences be included in the users table?

    I'm creating a members site, and I'm currently working on the user Preference settings. Should I create a table with all the preference fields (about 17 fields) or should I include them in the main member table along with the account settings? Is there a limit as to how many fields I should have in a table? currently the member table has about 21 fields... not sure if its okay to add another 17 more fields when I can easily just put them in another table. It'll take more coding to pull up the data though... any sugguestions?

UPDATE vehicle_catalog SET parent_id = 0 WHERE parent_id = SUBSTR(id, 0, 5) I need to set all parent_ids to 0 where the first 5 characters of id is the same as the parent_id. This is effecting 0 rows when I'm looking at the data and it should be effecting over 10,000. Any ideas on why this wouldn't be effecting all rows?

    Hello! I have these 2 tables, Medication containing: IDMedication, IDCategory, Name, and Supplier, containing: IDSupplier, Name. I want to automatically create a relationship table, MedicationSupplier, containing: IDMedication and IDSupplier as keys, Price, and Quantity. My idea was to have a main page where i request the following data: (Medication)Name, IDCAtegory, (Supplier)Name, Price, Quantity. I'm not sure if i'm doing the right thing here. So this is what i'm receiveing in the .php where i do the insert: $Denumire=$_POST['Denumire']; //Medication Name $IDCategorie=$_POST['IDCategorie']; //IDCategory $Nume=$_POST['Nume']; //Supplier Name $Pret=$_POST['Pret']; //Price $Stoc=$_POST['Stoc']; //Quantity And this is my insert: $q_produse = "INSERT INTO produse VALUES ('','$IDCategorie','$Denumire')"; $q_prodfurniz = "INSERT INTO produsfurnizor VALUES ('','$IDFurnizor','$Pret','$Stoc')"; mysql_query($q_produse) or die($error); mysql_query($q_prodfurniz) or die($error); mysql_close(); My main problem at the moment is that i don't know how to insert IDMedication in the relationship table. After changing it will echo it out: function Check_Get_Param($val){ $value1=addslashes($val); $string1=htmlspecialchars($value1); $string2=strip_tags($string1); $string3=intval($string2); return $string3; } Hhere this will output the result: Check_Get_Param($_GET['id']); Now the idea is any id or id= any or id = % $_GET['id'] = % will result 0 as % is not integer. How to allow % also? How do I modify this function or any other function that I could filter the GET parameters so I could keep out the web from injections?
