  Have you ever searched for an app only to find that its not available in your country? Luckily for us there is a work around for the Windows Store. How to use the US Windows Store from Another Country Press the Win + X keyboard combination, or right click in the bottom left hand corner of your screen to open the WinX menu, then launch the Control Panel. Now change the Control Panel’s view to the Small icons view. Then head into the Region settings. When the Region settings open you will need to switch over to the Location tab. Here you will be able to see the location that the Windows Store, as well as other applications , is using. You can change it by simply selecting United States from the drop down. That’s all there is to it. • How to estimate what kind of server resources you will require at launch?

  How can I go about/what is the best way of estimating what kind of server resources I will require at the launch of a new project. Let's say for instance I'd gathered 10k users email addresses that opted-in to be informed when we launch. I didn't really want to go for a cloud solution at the moment. Should I just get a reasonably-specced dedicated server and go from there, or should I be looking at services like Amazon EC2? Or should I start out with EC2 for the fully-flexible resources, then once things stabilize I'll be able to sort a fixed hosting deal that is adequate elsewhere? Sub-question: What's a good way of estimating what load a particular application will place on the server per user?

• Where to find current information on quality of released games as software products?

  As a gamer, one thing I have learned I need to be savvy about is knowing whether SomeBigGame is actually unstable or otherwise problematic as a piece of software (riddled with invasive DRM products, only runs well on a particular video driver version, crashes on non-English-language systems, etc.). I know that game news media can sometimes be relied upon to report on some problems, but I doubt they bother to cover smaller or indie titles. An example: I've started playing Transformice on Kongregate, and I'm considering installing the downloadable client (it is an online multiplayer game). The part of me that cares about data privacy and maintaining a clean-and-healthy PC wants to know whether there is a place I can check to find out more about a title-as-software than "it is not a literal virus." Put another way: where would you not want to see your game receive lots of attention?

• Plugged in, not charging Windows 7 solution

  I recently had the popular problem of Windows 7 battery manager malfunctioning and not charging my battery when plugged in.  The battery was fine, the power supply was fine, and the motherboard was fine (I have enough laptops with the same specs in the Headspring office, and I was able to swap out parts to isolate the problem). • Can we have some "coming soon" text in our app? Will Apple reject it? [closed]

  We're getting ready to push our app live. There's some functionality that's not ready yet; it's accessory, not crucial to the user, but it does provide some interesting context. If I have a button with the name of the feature (e.g., "Panoramic Views") and a "COMING SOON" label stuck over it, will Apple reject the submission? What if instead of a button it's just a text label somewhere announcing "Panoramic Views coming soon!"? I've seen some material online saying that "coming soon" is a no-no but all I could find in Apple's guidelines themselves was 2.9, "Apps that are "beta", "demo", "trial", or "test" versions will be rejected". Which is certainly not the case! Thanks in advance, any help greatly appreciated.

  Some of the biggest enterprise applications such as HR software, Sales and ERP, are written in .NET or Java. Also, Governments online solutions such as paying parking fines, and universities courses registration systems are all in .NET or Java. On the other hand, Facebook, Google and Wikipedia, are not using .NET or Java so much (Google uses at least both Java and Python). Twitter also was using Ruby for a long time, as well as Python. These websites work on much more data and at larger scales in terms of users and performance than any enterprise applications, yet still these companies have chosen a different path. What are the parameters driving such decisions? Note This question is not about why do you prefer x over y! or why those people are using this. The question is primarily asking about the parameters that makes Java Or .NET becomes better suite in enterprise applications based on Performance, Reliability, Scalability etc.

  I have an large html website on a very old server and I'm attempting to move it to a brand new server running IIS7. I've tried moving the entire site to the WWW directory, but then all my forms return "The HTTP verb POST used to access path is not allowed". Additionally, all the solutions I've found online only work on a page by page basis. Is there a simpler/faster way to migrate a large website containing many forms to IIS7? Here is the specific error message: The HTTP verb POST used to access path '/FormServer/Mig/_vti_bin/shtml.dll/admissions/askseaaggie.htm' is not allowed.

  I've been trying to learn OpenGL ES 2.0 to create a simple 2D game. I bought a book on android development, but after seeing that the author uses his own SDK that implements OpenGL ES 1.0 I decided to just use online tutorials. I've been so lost trying to find out what to use. The Matrices and shaders of 2.0 confuse me and I can't find any tutorial that just explains how to texture map a simple 2D image.   I am developing a web app and I have currently written the entire website in html/js/css and on the backend I have servlets that host some RESTFUL services. All the presentation logic is done through getting json objects and modifying the view through javascript. The application is essentially a search engine, but it will have user accounts with different roles. I've been researching some frameworks such as Play and Spring. I'm fairly new to web development, so I was wondering what advantages using server side page rendering would provide? Is it: Speed? Easier development and workflow? Access to existing libraries?
