  • SSRS: Master-detail report with two datasources

    I have two local data sources that I can push into the report. Works no problem. But how do I set up the report? One data source contains a list of employees, and info about them. The other contains a bunch of working hours for each employee. I would like to use a table for the list of employees, and then have another table for the working hours beneath each employee (with their working hours). Is this even possible? Do I have to use a Sub-Report? Would I have to merge them into one datasource? =/

  • Controls not aligning properly.

    I am using following code to design my home page. The output (as shown below) is not appearing properly. You can see the banner going to far left and the navigation links have a huge gap in between. How to set this?   • Using PHP/MySQL with Google Maps

    Hiya, I followed this tutorial below http://code.google.com/apis/maps/articles/phpsqlajax_v3.html#outputxml I ran into trouble, near then end, I am hoping someone else here has got this working and can help me discover my problem. Simply there are 4 steps to this tutorial Creating the Table Populating the Table Outputting XML with PHP Creating the Map I successfully have completed all the steps, however the outputted xml isn't read by the google map I created. The files are all on the same directory, and I didn't change any of the file names from the tutorial. The tutorial has a step to test if the php file called phpsqlajax_genxml.php is outputting the xml and I successfully tested it and it was. The problem is that the map isn't rendering the items I have in the database, that should be converted to xml for the map to read. Any help, or pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

    Symptom: After installing SharePoint Learning Kit successfully, (http://www.codeplex.com/SLK), everything works except that the SCORM package (a ZIP extension) is opening as a ZIP file instead of a course. You get the normal ZIP message "Do you want to open or save this file?" Problem: The package is zipped at the upper folder level and does not create a manifest that allows SharePoint to recognize it as a SCORM file instead of a ZIP file. Solution: Add the contents of the course to the ZIP, not the outer (uppermost) folder.  This creates a ZIP file that SharePoint can recognize as a SCORM package.

  • suggestions for Membership in ASP.NET MVC application

    With this question I am mostly looking for answers from people that have implemented the out-of-the-box ASP.NET membership in their own database - I've set up the tables inside my database and as far as I can see they contain mostly what I need but not everything. I will have the notion of a Firm (Company) to which Users will belong so I will have to associate the aspnet_Users with my Firms table (each user will be a member of exactly one firm). If possible, provide some guidelines how did you do it and what I might run into if I have to modify the table design at some point in the future. Preferably I will be using the default Membership provider. I am having trouble to decide whether to go from scratch or use what ASP.NET already offers.

  • How to avoid using duplicate savepoint names in nested transactions in nested stored procs?

    I have a pattern that I almost always follow, where if I need to wrap up an operation in a transaction, I do this: BEGIN TRANSACTION SAVE TRANSACTION TX -- Stuff IF @error <> 0 ROLLBACK TRANSACTION TX COMMIT TRANSACTION That's served me well enough in the past, but after years of using this pattern (and copy-pasting the above code), I've suddenly discovered a flaw which comes as a complete shock. Quite often, I'll have a stored procedure calling other stored procedures, all of which use this same pattern. What I've discovered (to my cost) is that because I'm using the same savepoint name everywhere, I can get into a situation where my outer transaction is partially committed - precisely the opposite of the atomicity that I'm trying to achieve. I've put together an example that exhibits the problem. This is a single batch (no nested stored procs), and so it looks a little odd in that you probably wouldn't use the same savepoint name twice in the same batch, but my real-world scenario would be too confusing to post. CREATE TABLE Test (test INTEGER NOT NULL) BEGIN TRAN SAVE TRAN TX BEGIN TRAN SAVE TRAN TX INSERT INTO Test(test) VALUES (1) COMMIT TRAN TX BEGIN TRAN SAVE TRAN TX INSERT INTO Test(test) VALUES (2) COMMIT TRAN TX DELETE FROM Test ROLLBACK TRAN TX COMMIT TRAN TX SELECT * FROM Test DROP TABLE Test When I execute this, it lists one record, with value "1". In other words, even though I rolled back my outer transaction, a record was added to the table. What's happening is that the ROLLBACK TRANSACTION TX at the outer level is rolling back as far as the last SAVE TRANSACTION TX at the inner level. Now that I write this all out, I can see the logic behind it: the server is looking back through the log file, treating it as a linear stream of transactions; it doesn't understand the nesting/hierarchy implied by either the nesting of the transactions (or, in my real-world scenario, by the calls to other stored procedures). So, clearly, I need to start using unique savepoint names instead of blindly using "TX" everywhere. But - and this is where I finally get to the point - is there a way to do this in a copy-pastable way so that I can still use the same code everywhere? Can I auto-generate the savepoint name on the fly somehow? Is there a convention or best-practice for doing this sort of thing? It's not exactly hard to come up with a unique name every time you start a transaction (could base it off the SP name, or somesuch), but I do worry that eventually there would be a conflict - and you wouldn't know about it because rather than causing an error it just silently destroys your data... :-(

  • Low disk space: home/user folder occupies 94GB

    I am low on disk space and when I check the Disk Usage analyzer (using gksudo baobab) it indicates that my home/teddy folder is using 94GB, but when I browse through its contents I can only account for about 1gb of that usage. I've tried sudo apt-get clean and deleting the cached package files from Synaptic Package Manager, emptied trash but that has not changed the amount of free space I have. It seems similar to this problem But using the root disk usage analyzer has not given any insight into what is consuming so much space. Any ideas?

  • Synchronising Cut-and-Paste Activities in Ubuntu One

    This was posted in the Ubuntu Forums but received no response, so I'm re-posting it here (with minor updates) in hopes that it will at least get some comments. Recently, I moved a large amount of contents (a few GBs) within the Ubuntu One folder (through cut-and-paste). Then I discovered how Ubuntu One does this is to remove them on the server side and upload all the files again in the new location. Obviously, this is undesirable because of the hefty uploading involved. Worse, since I have two computers synced to the same account, it is double the amount of traffic. Each computer took about one day to finish synchronising. Firstly, can anyone confirm that this is actually what's happening when we move folders? I'm using Ubuntu 10.04, by the way. Secondly, is there a way to cut-and-paste stuff within the Ubuntu One folder without uploading again?

    Hi, Each node have CCK-3-dev multigroup with 3 fields. Can I use one of fields as table header? Values of this field are taken from Taxonomy. With a simple recipe example, where food Z and Y are 2 nodes with recipes and each node has multigroup with ingredient name (milk, fish), amount (numbers) and unit (g, kg). Is there a way to create a table like this with views, I want to use views calc to calculate total amount of ingredient needed to prepare multiple recipes: Ingredient A Ingredient B Ingredient C Food Z 200 g 700 g 0 g Food Y 500 g 1000 g 50 g I don't even need units by number, but that would be good too. Anyways, how do I get this?

    So I have the below VB that creates an access file in the default workspace, creates a table, create some fields in that table...just need to know the syntax for setting the first data type/field to autonumber...GUID, Counter, etc will not work as in Access SQL ' error handling usually goes here dim ws as workspace dim dbExample as database dim tblMain as TableDef dim fldMain as Field dim idxMain as Index set ws = workspace(0) set dbExample = ws.CreateDatabase('string file path') set tblMain = dbExample.CreateTableDef("tblMain") set fldMain = tblMain.CreateField("ID", 'right here I do not know what to substitute for dbInteger to get the autonumber type to work ) tblMain.Fields.Append fldMain etc to create other fields and indexes so in this line: set fldMain = tblMain.CreateField("ID", dbInteger) i need to replace the dbInteger with something that VB reconizes as the autonumber property. i have tried GUID, Counter, Autonumber, AutoIncrement....unfortunately none of these work anyone know the syntax I am missing here?     As a learning exercise I'm trying to put myself a blogging system. The goal is to code something that will let me create multiple blogs, like blogger.com or wordpress.com, but much simplified. I would like to ask you, what do you think is best database design for this type of script. Is it better to have one big table, containing posts from all blogs of all users (like friendfeed) or would it be better to create separate table for each blog's posts? I have a dynamic list of data, which i try to display in the HTML Table format using h:dataTable (the bounded value is an arrayList). The table has got a radio button for each row it displays (boolean w/ h:selectOneRadio ) now when i select the radio button in one of these rows, i want to get the values of the row that is selected for which i try to use binding attribute. But i get Row Unavailable exception - is my approach wrong? any suggestions?

I basically have a string of HTML, I convert that to a JQuery DOM object so that I can easily remove all elements that have a certain class using JQuery's .remove().     I am in the process of evaluating a Service Broker with SQL noticiation for my project. My requirements is User places a order from System A and it will update Order Table. As soon as order is place i need to notify the System B. I have done a quick POC with Trigger , Service Broker and SQLNotificaiton ADO.NET. It is working as i expected. What i would like to know the group A) What are the best practices i need to follow for this? B) What are disadvantages with the above approach if any? C) Are there any disadvantes of using the Triggers? If so what are those for above approach? The order table will get order from System A like 1000 to 1500 every day. I also would like to know the performance of above approach.

    Hi, I have this big function that gets a lot of different data and insert it into multiple tables.. Not all the data is always available so not all the SQL INSERT queries are successful. I need to check which SQL INSERT query was fully successful and which wasn't to the do something with this data (like inserting into a log table or similar). Just to give you an example of how I think it can be done: $sql = 'INSERT INTO data_table (ID, column1, column2) VALUES(?, ?, ?)'; if ($stmt->prepare($sql)) { $stmt->bind_param('iss', $varID, $var1, $var2); if ($stmt->execute()) { $success == TRUE; //or something like that } } I'm not completely sure this is the best way and if its always really show if the data was inserted into the table... Any suggestions??

  • MS SQL Server 15MM rows, simple COUNT query. 15+ seconds?

    We took over a website from another company after a client decided to switch. We have a table that grows by about 25k records a day, and is currently at 15MM records. The table looks something like: id (PK, int, not null) member_id (int, not null) another_id (int, not null) date (datetime, not null) SELECT COUNT(id) FROM tbl can take up to 15 seconds. A simple inner join on 'another_id' takes over 30 seconds. I can't imagine why this is taking so long. Any advice? SQL Server 2005 Express

    Hello i am wondering how i would be able to annotate an interface @Entity @Table(name = "FOLDER_TABLE") public class Folder implements Serializable, Hierarchy { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Column(name = "folder_id", updatable = false, nullable = false) private int fId; @Column(name = "folder_name") private String folderName; @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL) @JoinTable(name = "FOLDER_JOIN_FILE_INFORMATION_TABLE", joinColumns = { @JoinColumn(name = "folder_id") }, inverseJoinColumns = { @JoinColumn(name = "file_information_id") }) private List< Hierarchy > fileInformation = new ArrayList< Hierarchy >(); above and below are 2 classes that implement an interface called Hierarchy, the folder class has a list of Hierarchyies being a folder or a fileinformation class @Entity @Table(name = "FILE_INFORMATION_TABLE") public class FileInformation implements Serializable, Hierarchy { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Column(name = "file_information_id", updatable = false, nullable = false) private int ieId; @Column (name = "location") private String location; i have serached the web for someway to annotate or a workaround but i cannot map the interface which is simply this public interface Hierarchy { } i get a mapping exeception on the List of hierarchyies with a folder but i dont know how to map the class correctly
