  • Old operational master still thinks it is the "one"

    Hi there, I have a domain with 3 AD servers for now i'll just call them: AD01 (Win 2008 GC, Operations master) AD02 (Win 2008 GC) AD03 (Win 2003 GC) A couple of months there was some hardware issues with AD01 so the operations master, PDC and Infrastructure Master was moved to AD02. All machines where on while this was happening. AD01 (Win 2008 GC) AD02 (Win 2008 GC, Operations master) AD03 (Win 2003 GC) AD01 was then shutdown for a month. Upon starting this machine up with replaced hardware (NIC and RAID card) i now have a weird problem. AD01 Thinks it is operations master still in AD on the local box AD02 & AD03 Thinks AD02 is operations master in AD on both boxes When running DCDIAG on AD01 i get a number of issues (listed below) When running "dcdiag /test:advertising" on AD01: Doing primary tests Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\AD01 Starting test: Advertising Warning: DsGetDcName returned information for \\ad02.domain.local, when we were trying to reach AD01. SERVER IS NOT RESPONDING or IS NOT CONSIDERED SUITABLE. .........................   • Migrating Email to new hosting.

    I've made a site for a charity, and now have to move hosting for them. They have 5 or so email addresses on their current hosting account, which will of course need to move too. What's the best way to migrate their email addresses to the new server without too much hassle for them? They use POP3, so should I just create the account on the new server and then get them to update their settings? That won't remove their old emails from Outlook Express, will it?

  • Nginx + php5-fpm = "File not found"

    I've hit a wall whilst setting up a site using nginx / fpm. The page displays "File not found", and this appears in the nginx error.log: FastCGI sent in stderr: "Primary script unknown" while reading response header from upstream I'm new to both nginx and fpm, and that error message means nothing to me (even the google machine hasn't helped!). Can anyone shed any light onto what could be happening?

  • ISAPI filter with LDAP over SSL only works as administrator

    I have created an ISAPI filter for IIS 6.0 that tries to authenticate against Active directory using LDAP. The filter works fine when authenticating regularly over port 389, but when I try to use SSL, I always get the 0x51 Server Down error at the ldap_connect() call. Even skipping the connect call and using ldap_simple_bind_s() results in the same error. The weird thing is that if I change the app pool identity to the local admin account, then the filter works fine and LDAP over SSL is successful. I created an exe with the same code below and ran it on the server as admin and it works. Using the default NETWORK SERVICE identity for the site's app pool is what seems to be the problem. Any thoughts as to what is happening? I want to use the default identity since I don't want the website to have elevated admin privileges. The server is in a DMZ outside the network and domain where our DCs are that run AD. We have a valid certificate on our DCs for AD as well. I added the user to the Administrators group and got the same error as well. The only user that seems to work with LDAP over SSL authentication on this particular server is administrator. The web server with the ISAPI filter (and where I've been running the test exe) is running Windows Server 2003. The DCs with AD on them are running 2008 R2. Also worth mentioning, we have a WordPress site on the same server that authenticates against LDAP over SSL using PHP (OpenLDAP) and there's no problem there. I have an ldap.conf file that specifies TLS_REQCERT never and the user running the PHP code is IUSR.

    I have a site with some URLs that look like this: /prefix/ID, where /prefix is static and ID is unique. Using Nginx as a reverse proxy, I'd like to cache these pages at the /ID portion only, omitting the prefix. Can I configure Nginx so that a request for the original URL is cached at the shortened URL?     I'm logged into a Linux server. I think it's a Red Hat distribution. The commands a2ensite and a2dissite are not available. In the /etc/httpd directory, I don't see any mention of sites-enabled or sites-available. I'm pretty sure the site is currently executing the directives of /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf . I would like to do a a2dissite ssl, then reload the Web Server. How to do achieve this ?

Run '/etc/init.d/apache2 reload' to activate new configuration! >> /etc/init.d/apache2 reload * Reloading web server config apache2 ...done. but when i visit anothersite.com or somesite.com they are both down..What is going on with the vhosts. Could it be the NameVirtualHost declaration with the ip or something...maybe my understanding of vhost settings is not clear. What i dont understand is why do both site now all the sudden not work at all.I would highly appreciate the clarity By the way anothersite.com or somesite.com are the only things I changed to make it more readable

I can access using defined ServerName in the VirtualHost config but when using http://servername/path I get a 403 access denied error. Do I have to do anything extra to be able to access the site using servername?

    I have this .htaccess file in one directory on my site: <limit GET> order deny,allow deny from all allow from 123.456.789 </limit> ErrorDocument 403 403.html It blocks everyone except for one IP. However, when an invalid IP visits, it does not show the 403.html file, but it just shows the text "403.html" on the page. When I try to directly visit the 403.html page on the directory, it gets the same message too.

    Dell optiplex 755 running win7-32 Two problems, not sure if they're related 1: Two drivers are missing when viewing device manager, PCI serial port and PCI Simple Communications Controller, I've searched dell's site, and the internet as a whole and have been wholly unable to find the drivers. 2: I'm unable to connect any external hard drives, but any flash drives plugged in will be recognized and accessible by the computer without issue. Any help would be appreciated.
