    Project a cubic bezier p1,p2,p3,p4 onto the line p1,p4. When p2 or p3 does not project onto the line segment between p1 and p4, the curve will bulge out from the anchor points. Is there a way to calculate the T value where the tangent of the curve is perpendicular to the anchor line? This could also be stated as finding the T values where the projected curve is farthest from the center of the line segment p1,p4. When p2 and p3 project onto the line segment, then the solutions are 0 and 1 respectively. Is there an equation for solving the more interesting case? The T value seems to depend only on the distance of the mapped control points from the anchor line segment. I can determine the value by refining guesses, but I am hoping there is a better way.

    Hi all: I've been trying to do as the client requested : redirect to campaign page then to destination page once a customer clicks on the top banner in swf format. You can check what's been done at :http://ausdcf.org If you are using Firefox, Chrome or Safari, I suspect you can reach the destination page. However, if you are using IE or Opera, I doubt it.   • Java - How do I get last line using Scanner?

    while( inStream.hasNextLine() ) { ... lineList.add( inStream.nextLine() ); } ... lineList is an ArrayList. The code is reading everything nicely except it won't grab the last line. The last two lines in the text file end like this: "a sentence here..." <a blank line here. the blank line is the last line> I'm assuming it won't grab it since hasNextLine() is not detecting another line after this one? What's a way to grab the last line? I thought reading until it was EOF and then catching the exception might work but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.

The simplest solution to this I can think of would be to use a tool to minify all static content so that (after encryption) only a small number of result sizes exist so as to minimize the information available to an eavesdropper. Are there any tools for doing this?

However,my advisor is not satisfied with that,he wants to see this webpage(actually,two webpages) opened in a GUI interface. So could you please give a detailed instruction on how to achieve this in Java,please?If you are trying to offer me a helpful package,would you please kindly also show how to use that as well,since I am new to this GUI development,and I only know the basics of Swing.   • GXT/GWT html content reloads when switching tabs

    I am working on a GXT/GWT project. I have two tabs in which content is set based on selections from a drop down menu. The content in one tab is an embedded video (Google Video or youtube video) The problem is that when switching tabs, the video reloads and starts from the beginning again. What I would like is to be able to switch tabs and have the video continue to play or pause when the focus switches to another tab. Any ideas, as always, are greatly appreciated. Cheers, Ben

I am able to detect the CGPoint for the tap (subclassing UIWindow like this), and I can actually get the DOM element on that point using javascript. But I know very little of javascript and DOM to figure out how can I actually get which word the user tapped on. Is that possible?     Here's my set of requirements: I'm looking for an RPC framework such as thrift, avro, protobuf (when adding services to it) which supports: Easy and intuitive IDL. No serial numbers, no manual versioning, simple... avro is a good example for this. Works with Java and Python Supports both fast binary prorocol, as well as HTTP based restful style. I'd like to be able to use it for both backend-to-backend communication (java-java or python-java) as well as frontend-to-backend communication (javascript to java). The rest support needs to include &param=value input as get/post requests (configurable per request) and output in three possible formats: json, jsonp, XML. Compact, fast, backward compatible, easy to upgrade etc... Provides some nice monitoring interfaces such as: JMX, web page status reports (e.g. packets in, packets out, error rate etc) Ops friendly... no need to take the whole site down to release new versions Both sync and asyc communication ... other goodies are welcome...     I am trying to create Facebook based login using Javascript. Once a person clicks a button he should get a div replaced by another div, if he is logged in to Facebook. However, if he is not logged in to Facebook he is asked his Facebook credentials and he logs in. However, we need the user to click the button once more for the div replacement to happen in this case. I want to know if there is a way in which I can catch the Facebook login event and change the div? Is polling a way or there is some other way out. I want to use only Javascript.
