  Hi I have the SQL query with c as ( select categoryId,parentId, name,0 as [level] from task_Category b where b.parentId is null union all select b.categoryId,b.parentId,b.name,[level] + 1 from task_Category b join c on b.parentId = c.categoryId) select name,[level],categoryId,parentId as item from c and I want to convert it to LINQ to SQL, yet my LINQ skills are not there yet. Could someone please help me convert this. It's the with and union statements that are making this a bit more complex for me. Any help appreciated.

  I am wanting to pass something like the following to my view from my controller via GET not POST: public class MyDTO { public string val1 { get; set; } public string val2 { get; set; } public MyObject obj { get; set; } } public class MyObject { public int SomeInt { get; set; } public string ACoolValue { get; set; } public string YetAnotherCoolValue { get; set; } } And then the controller would like like this. (Note it is a GET): public ActionResult MyView(MyDTO dto) { return View(dto) } The problem is that the instance of MyObject is coming back as null, where val1 and val2 have data. Has anyone run across this?

In HsqlDB, one can still accomplish creating an auto-increment identity column which doesn't link to any user defined sequence. Is it possible to use a user defined sequence as the generator of an auto-increment identity column in HsqlDB? Sample sql in PostgreSql: CREATE SEQUENCE seq_company_id START WITH 1; CREATE TABLE company ( id bigint PRIMARY KEY DEFAULT nextval('seq_company_id'), name varchar(128) NOT NULL CHECK (name < '') ); What's the equivalent in HsqlDB? If you change it to: p_query = "select * from mytable where name_field = \"" + uvalue + "\"" ; it crashes if the user enters a double quote in their input. and of course they could always enter both single and double quotes.

  I am trying to do some screen-scraping of a website. The content that I want to get is inside of an IFrame. How do I get the InnerText or HTML that is being displayed inside of the IFrame? I am using .Net 4.0 and C#. I want to be able to do this from a WinForm.   I have some JButtons in a JFrame (its layout is null). The background Color of the buttons are set Black. I have made the JFrame Transparent by using this code. AWTUtilities.setWindowOpacity(this, 0); But the problem is it also makes all the buttons transparent as well. I don't want that. I want to see the buttons remaining black but the other portions of the JFrame becoming transparent (so that I can see the desktop background). Please someone help me. Thanks in advance.

  I'm trying to allow an external .txt file that is read by a Java script be able to have some comments in the beginning of the file so others can easily edit it and add more to it. But if the file contains # (the sign designated for a line that is a comment) it just returns the error that there is a "Format Error in file" (the IOException - so it is getting past that first "IF"...) Can someone help?   Hello guys. I'm having a strange issue here. I have a 3 column datagrid that is filled by a connection with the database. So far so good. I have an extra column, of checkbox type. I need to get it's value for perfoming a bulk operation on it. Here is the catch: When all cells are selected, it works fine. But when an user selects any cell that its not the first, software gives me a object reference exception. Here is the code public List<String> GetSelected() { List<String> selected = new List<String>(); foreach(DataGridViewRow row in datagrid.rows) { if ((Boolean)row.Cells[wantedCell].Value == true) { selected.Add(row.Cells[anotherCell]); } } } I tracked down the failure to the if-test, throwing a exception, because the value of the cell is read as null. • Plugin methods are missing in Firefox 3.6

  Hi, We have a plugin that we use to enable printing and saving from our app. We instantiate it using tag with all needed attributes, and then call Save() or Print() method on the document.embeds[0] object. This used to work perfectly on Firefox 3.5 and earlier, but it no longer works in Firefox 3.6. In 3.6, document.embeds[0].Save is null, that is our custom methods are not defined on this object. Any idea why this happens, and what has changed in Firefox 3.6 that causes it? Any idea on how to debug it and find the cause?   I have an NGINX server with fastcgi/PHP running on it. I need to add userdirs to it, but I can't get PHP to execute the files - it just asks me if I want to download it. It does work without the userdir (eg: it works on physibots.info/hugs.php, but not physibots.info/~kisses/hugs.php) Any help is greatly appreciated.   I have code that at one place ends up with a list of data frames which I really want to convert to a single big data frame. I got some pointers from an earlier question which was trying to do something similar but more complex. Here's an example of what I am starting with (this is grossly simplified for illustration): listOfDataFrames <- NULL for (i in 1:100) { listOfDataFrames[[i]] <- data.frame(a=sample(letters, 500, rep=T), b=rnorm(500), c=rnorm(500)) } I am currently using this: df <- do.call("rbind", listOfDataFrames) *EDIT* whoops. In my haste to implement what I had "learned" in a previous question I totally screwed up. Yes, the unlist() is just plain wrong. I'm editing that out of the question above.
