• C# GridView dynamically built columns with textboxes ontextchanged

  My page is a bulk order form that has many products and various size options. I've got a gridview that has a 3 static columns with labels. There are then some dynamically built columns. Each of the dynamically built columns have a textbox in them. The textbox is for quantity. Trying to either update the server with the quantity entered each time a textbox is changed (possibly ontextchanged event) or loop though each of the rows column by column and gather all the items that have a quantity and process those items and their quantities all at once (via button onclick). If I put the process that builds the GridView behind a if(!Page.IsPostBack) then the when a textchanged event fires the gridview only gets the static fields and the dynamic ones are gone. If I remove the if(!Page.IsPostBack) the process to gather and build the page is too heavy on processing and takes too long to render the page again. Some advice would be appreciated. Thanks

• IE to show Full URL path in the Title bar as in Status Bar

  Windows XP and IE8. Tabbed Browsing is OFF. So every single web page has its own title. I want to see in the title the same as I see in the Status bar i.e. I want the full URL of the web page I am viewing to be displayed in the Title bar, and so in the Task bar button too. How to achieve this? Thanks for all the answers in advance. Looks like this is rare case.

• Threading and pcap issues.

  I have a GUI program that allows a user a scan a network, the issue is that when the pcap_loop function is called, my GUI program becomes unresponsive.(the pcap_loop blocks the current thread). • IE 8 html parsing error message.

  I'm experiencing the problem outlined in this kb article. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927917 . Sorry I can't hyperlink cos i don't have enough points! "This problem occurs because a child container HTML element contains script that tries to modify the parent container element of the child container. The script tries to modify the parent container element by using either the innerHTML method or the appendChild method." The problem I'm having diagnosing the source of my problem is 2 fold: 1) This is only happening on some client machines (All are running IE8) and not others. How/Why only some? 2) I don't have any scripts which modify the innerHTML or call appendChild on any dom elements. I do have server side code which modify properties on asp .net server controls. (Essentially all thats happening is a panel control with some more controls is being made visbile or invisible on a button click), would these in turn then set the innerHTML property of the client rendered control(?)

• Code igniter authentication code in controller security question

  I have a main controller to handle the very front-end of my authentication system, it handles login, logout, update user info, etc. functions that I anticipate calling by POST'ing from views/forms. What about something like a "delete_user" function though? My thoughts are a button in someones admin panel would say "Delete Account" and it would post to "/auth/delete", and the function would delete the user based on their session username or id. This seems a bit open ended, you could send out a link to someone and when they opened it while in that application it would delete their account.. Whats the best way to handle this?

• C# Event Handlers automatically created by WinForms Designer

  Just moved from VB.NET to C#. In VB to connect and Event Handler to a Sub we use the Handles clause. From what it seems, this do not exist in C#. After creating a simple application with a button I realize that Window Forms Designer automatically created an EventHandler to my button1_Click function (after I double clicked it), in Form1.Designer.cs with this code: this.button1.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.button1_Click); But, in VB, the WinForms Designer create the Handles clause in my class, in the function header. So, C# create the default EventHandler in designer file, while VB creates in main class with control resides. Is this correct? Am I missing something here?

• Detecting GWT RichTextArea 'dirty' state

  I want to detect when the contents of my GWT RichTextArea become 'dirty' (have been changed by the user) in order to enable a 'save' button accordingly. I suppose I could listen for key presses that are likely to have changed the contents; but browser support for key presses is notoriously quirky. I suppose I could, before editing begins, save the original contents in a variable, and upon key press, compare the current contents against that variable, but doing that on each key press is going to be really slow. Is there some neat way to achieve RichTextArea dirty-detection?

Is there anything wrong with the syntax or just simple error?

  I am trying to put In App purchase in my application. I had setup a consumable product which was working fine in Sandbox environment. Now i just made a new product which is non-consumable with new price tier, and deleted the old one. Update my code, with the new Product ID. When request is sent, it properly shows the right Product with newly added price tier, But when you tap on Buy button it gives you the error "The item you tried to buy is no longer available [Environment: Sandbox]". Any idea ?

  Hi, I'm trying to check whether val() has a specific value or not inside a form, if so deleting the contents / preventing the form being submitted depending on if both fields are filled in (stringOne and stringTwo). There's a default text for each input field, the first being "Namn, telefonnr, sökord" and the second "Område, plats, ort". If a user only fills in the first field the second must be cleared before the form string is passed on and vice versa. • UIScrollView Does not Scroll

  I have added a long info screen to my iPhone app. The info is a long UIImageView, and it is contained inside a UIScrollView. They are both defined in .xib file. At run-time, initially I set scrollview's position outside window, and when user clicks a button, set its position inside window. This part is OK. But scrollview displays the image but does not scroll. Isn't it enough to place in MainViewContoller.xib, set the contained content, and (at code) set its contentSize equal to the content's size? BTW: I try it at simulator currently.

  Hi, I have a Windows Phone 7 application with the following listbox and every item contains 2 textblocks and a HyperlinkButton. <ListBox.ItemTemplate> In the ViewModel constructor I have the following code: GetCommand = new RelayCommand(() ={some code}); where GetCommand is a property : public RelayCommand GetCommand { get; private set; } My problem is that GetCommand = new RelayCommand(() ={some code}); is not executing when I press the button. I must say that if dont place the HyperlinkButton insise the itemTemplate, everything works fine.   Hey guys, I've been trying to build something simple in Flash 8, and I stumbled across something weird I cannot explain: I have an object, and at some point of the program, I want it to be visible (it is invisible at first), so I write: _root.myObj._visible = true; _root.gameOver.swapDepths(_root.getNextHighestDepth()); //so it will be on the top and this works fine, the object becomes visible and etc. What I planned to happen next is that the user presses a button on that same object, and the object will go invisible: on(release) { trace(_root.myObj._visible); _root.myObj._visible = false; trace(_root.myObj._visible); _root.gotoAndPlay("three"); } The trace returns at first true and later on false, so the command works, but oddly the object stays visible, that's what I don't understand. • How to prevent the copying of text from a textarea?

  I have an online typing software, which I'm currently working on. In the typing software, all is running good but I have come across the problem of dishonest users who might possibly type the text into the textarea, copy it, then reload the page (therefore resetting the timer) and pasting it in straightaway. So I was thinking along the lines of using something like evt.preventDefault(); when javascript detects the pressing of the ctrl / cmd button. But then again I realized that the user could go to the menu bar to press copy. So is there a cross-browser method to do both methods of disabling? • View artifacts leaking into the model of MVC

  In an ASP.NET MVC application (which has very little chance of having its view technology ported to something non-HTML, but whose functional requirements evolve weekly,) how much HTML should ideally be allowed to be directly represented in the Model? I might come across as a design bigot for this, but I regard it as bad practice to allow any view constructs to "leak" into the model in an MVC application (and vice versa). For example, a Model that represents an item you're about to purchase should know nothing about the HTML check box that says "add giftwrap/message", nor should it know about any HTML drop down lists for payment card types. Conversely the View shouldn't be doing work like figuring out button text by translating keys into values (by looking in resource files.)

• How to show a client-side message with Java JSF/Tobago?

  I have a web application created with JSF and Tobago. The user types some date into a sheet and clicks a button (all within one sheet-row). Now my java class checks whether the data is correct or not. In case there are some problems, I would like to show up something like a messagebox containing the errormessage. I cannot use something like JDialog, since this would happen only server side. Every user independently of his location needs to get the message. I thought about setting the error information into a databean and having my jsp show up the message after reloading. But how can I achieve this? Is there something like a tag which can be used for this? Or can I use the "confirmation" facet for this? But how would I start it without having the user to do something? Thanks in advance!

• Is there a chance that sending an email via a thread could ever fail to complete?

  I have a project where I send a couple of emails via a seperet thread, to speed up the process for the end-user. It works successfully, but i was just wondering whether there were any potfalls that i might not have considered? My greatest fear is that the user clicks a button, it says that the message has been sent (as it will have been sent to the thread for sending) but for some reason the thread might fail to send it. Are there any situations where a thread could be aborted prematurely? Please note, that i am not talking about network outages or obvious issues with an email recipient not existing. For simplicites sake please assume that the connect is up, the mail server alive and the recipient valid. Is it possible, for example, for the thread to abort prematurely if the user kills the browser before the thread has completed? This might be a silly question, but i just wanted to make sure i knew the full ramifications of using a thread in this manner. Thanks, in advance, for your help.
