    Hi, I have an NSWindowController and I initialize it like this; + (MyWindowController *) sharedController { static MyWindowController *singleton = nil; if (!singleton) singleton = [[self alloc] initWithWindowNibName: @"myWindow"]; return singleton; } and I show windows like this; [[MyWindowController sharedController] showWindow: nil]; Now the problem is that I need information from some controls on that window. But I do not want to load the window if it's not yet loaded because then I can just go with the defaults. Should I use @property to access the singleton? or what is recommended here? (If @property, then please give me the readonly, nonatomic attributes too.)

  • Bulk stop watching tickets on Lighthouse?

    Via the Lighthouse user interface, is there any way to bulk stop watching tickets? I have more than 150 tickets on a project I want to stop watching, and would just as soon not go into each and every one of them. I thought the bulk edit command might work, but there doesn't appear to be a watch keyword in the bulk edit stuff (which is fair enough, I'm not really editing the tickets). When I go to my profile, I can subscribe or unsubscribe to an entire project, but I'm not seeing a way to do this at the (bulk) ticket level. Looking at a list of the tickets I'm watching, I'm not seeing a way to do anything to all of them (other than the bulk edit command of course). Is there something I'm missing?

  • Attach Console to Service

    I currently have a WCF Service Library which will be started through a Console Application acting as ServiceHost. The ServiceHost starts the service and then waits with Console.ReadLine() for the "quit" command. If i do "Console.WriteLine();" in the service this will be printed to the ServiceHosts Console of course. The Service prints some information when the clients connect for example. Is it possible to have the ServiceHost converted to a real Windows Service (to start up when the machine boots without console window) and attach or detach a command prompt (cmd.exe) or another Console Application to it when needed? For example if I want so see which clients connect from now on? Thanks in advance!

I want to permanently increase the heap space for my tomcat apps. I read this page http://javahowto.blogspot.com/2006/06/6-common-errors-in-setting-java-heap.html and it says under the Tomcat section Stop Tomcat server, set environment variable CATALINA_OPTS, and then restart Tomcat. Look at the file tomcat-install/bin/catalina.sh or catalina.bat for how this variable is used. For example, set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m (Windows, no "" around the value) export CATALINA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (ksh/bash, "" around the value) setenv CATALINA_OPTS "-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (tcsh/csh, "" around the value) So I replaced the line set CATALINA_OPTS= with set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m But I still get the error.

    I have a set of buttons on my master page (I have attached the code below) but no onclick event is being raised. I pulled the final page source and no onclick event was present. As you can see I tried a few different approaches to solve the problem. I am looking for a normal postback to the server but I am getting nothing when I click any of these buttons.   • Bad event on java panel

    Hi I have a java panel with 4 buttons. When I click on of these buttons, a new frame appears and the first is hidden with setVisibile(false). On that new window, I have another button, but when i click it, I got the event corresponding to the fourth button of the first window. Clicking the button again does the trick, but of course this is not acceptable. Am I missing something? I just show the frames with nameOfTheFrame.setVisible(true); and I have MouseListeners on every button.     This sample app ("thoughtsite") for App Engine contains a pom.xml in its trunk: http://code.google.com/p/thoughtsite/source/browse/#svn/trunk But I don't know what command to run in Maven to set up the project locally. (The README doesn't mention anything about Maven.) I tried to just import the project code directly into Eclipse but it doesn't look like it's in an appropriate format for a direct import. So I assume I need to do something with Maven to get it set up correctly. I haven't really used Maven before so I'm not sure what command I would need to run to set everything up. The pom.xml seems like it downloads a bunch of dependencies for the project like the Spring jar files which I don't see anywhere else in the svn repository.

I have come to know that the approach of sliding windows using hamming window would work best on this approach but have a very little idea on this.     Idlestartup is analogous to pythonstartup variable, but for IDLE, instead of command line. But it seems not to work properly. I'm using python 2.6.5 on Windows. I have the following script assigned to it: from pprint import pprint import sys newPath = 'C:\\Python26\test') sys.path.append(newPath) print "initial config loaded" Both variables Idlestartup and pythonstartup are assigned to the same file (script above). When running IDLE, pprint and sys are NOT available, the final message is NOT printed, but newPath was added to sys.path. Running the command line, pprint and sys are available, the final message is printed and newPath was added to sys.path. Is it a bug? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

    I'm setting up a build system for a Flash Builder 4 (Flex 4) based project; and I'm struggling to get a setup that compiles in the IDE the same as it does from the command line on the build server. I come from a C# background; and my expectation is that I'll be able to create a "solution" with a collection of "projects" that I can compile from the IDE, or from the command line on the build server. The best I've managed sofar is 2 separate build "scripts", a custom ant script for the build server, and the default Flash Builder IDE config based on a workspace; but this is making my DRY daemons jump around in fury. Please can someone point me in the right direction :)

    I'm using emacs in a console window both on my local Linux box and on the login node of a remote cluster. I use emacs regularly, and I've got the foreground color set to white in my .emacs file like so: (set-foreground-color "white") (set-background-color "black") However, when I run emacs, the foreground isn't white; it's grey and very hard to read. On my Mac, emacs in a console window with the same settings shows up as proper white. But on both linux boxes, in konsole and xterm, it's grey. In case it matters, I've got TERM set to xterm-color, the desktop is running RHEL 5, and the cluster node is running RHEL 4 (CentOS). Is this some default with how Linux sets up terminal colors? How do I get white to be white? Note: this is with console emacs, not emacs under X. That's emacs -nw if you have DISPLAY set.

    Previously when I browsed source code files using Xcode's file browser (located on left side), clicking on a source file would open it in the right window. I must've accidentally changed some setting that stops this behavior -- now single clicking on any file doesn't do anything at all. I'd really like it to go back to the old behavior of opening the file. Any ideas? This behavior is driving me crazy. To open a source file I have to double-click and open in a separate window.

  • Cannot execute "LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE" Mysql query in Rails after a connection reconnection

    On Rails 2.3.8 (but I think Rails 3 might have this issue as well, not sure): I get an error when trying to execute a LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE query after reconnecting to a database. I have a process that parses a file that can potentially take a bit of time. During the parsing, Mysql closes the connection due to timeout. This is fine, I do a ActiveRecord::Base.verify_active_connections! and I get the connection back (I do this in several places through my app). However, running a LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE statement, I get this error: Mysql::Error: The used command is not allowed with this MySQL version It's not a permission issue, I know that for sure. It's just this one that giving me the error. I even tested this with a fresh rails app. You'll notice that I am able to do the exact same query before the disconnect. Thanks for the help!

  • Visual Studio bug ~ quick find [CONFIRMED]

    In Visual Studio 2010 Pro (Version 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel), I noticed tonight that for some reason I kept getting a wider window for quick find, but thought I was losing my mind. So I exited, restarted, etc to verify. Here's my repro steps Open existing project (I don't think it matters which one) Press ctrlf and give it something to search for (?) in "current document" Press enter Press ctrlf Press enter goto 4 Can you reproduce a slowly expanding quick find window? Do I have some sort of wacky bugged out system? I'ld obviously like to submit a bug report to MS if this is indeed a viable repro.

  • Using a Button to navigate to another Page in a NavigationWindow

    I'm trying to use the navigation command framework in WPF to navigate between Pages within a WPF application (desktop; not XBAP or Silverlight). I believe I have everything configured correctly, yet its not working. I build and run without errors, I'm not getting any binding errors in the Output window, but my navigation button is disabled. Here's the app.xaml for a sample app: <Application x:Class="Navigation.App" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" StartupUri="First.xaml"> </Application> Note the StartupUri points to First.xaml. First.xaml is a Page. WPF automatically hosts my page in a NavigationWindow. Here's First.xaml: <Page x:Class="Navigation.First" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="First"> <Grid> <Button CommandParameter="/Second.xaml" CommandTarget="{Binding RelativeSource= {RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type NavigationWindow}}}" Command="NavigationCommands.GoToPage" Content="Go!"/> </Grid> </Page> The button's CommandTarget is set to the NavigationWindow. The command is GoToPage, and the page is /Second.xaml. I've tried setting the CommandTarget to the containing Page, the CommandParameter to "Second.xaml" (First.xaml and Second.xaml are both in the root of the solution), and I've tried leaving the CommandTarget empty. I've also tried setting the Path to the Binding to various navigational-related public properties on the NavigationWindow. Nothing has worked so far. What am I missing here? I really don't want to do my navigation in code. Clarification. If, instead of using a button, I use a Hyperlink: <Grid> <TextBlock> <Hyperlink NavigateUri="Second.xaml">Go! </Hyperlink> </TextBlock> </Grid> everything works as expected. However, my UI requirements means that using a Hyperlink is right out. I need a big fatty button for people to press. That's why I want to use the button to navigate. I just want to know how I can get the Button to provide the same ability that the Hyperlink does in this case.
