  • Phonegap - iOS keyboard is not hiding on outside tap of input field

    On input text focus, keyboard appears as expected. But when I click outside of the input text, keyboard does not hide. I am using java script and jQuery. With jQueryMobile JS and CSS - page behaves correctly. But for this project we are not using jQueryMobile. This problem is only with iOS simulator/device. With Android, it's working perfectly fine. I even tried using document.activeElement.blur(); on outer element click/tap. But then I am unable to focus to input text, because that input text is inside that outer element.

Following works with Firefox 3, IE7 and Opera 9: var pic = $("img") // need to remove these in of case img-element has set width and height pic.removeAttr("width"); pic.removeAttr("height"); var pic_real_width = pic.width(); var pic_real_height = pic.height(); But in Webkit browsers like Safari and Google Chrome values are 0... Doing this on server side is not an option.

  • Question regarding checking the state of a checkbox class

    I'll try and make this question simple. Can I assign a class to a series of different checkboxes, and use Jquery to do something when any one of those checkboxes is checked? Searching around on the internet I have found documentation on grabbing the name: $('input[name=foo]').is(':checked') but when I swap out the name attribute for the class attr, it won't work! How can I set an event to occur if any of the checkboxes with this certain class is checked? Please help me out! Thanks

  • Div that appears behind other. How to avoid that behaivor?

    Hello there... I'm using JQuery for this. The problem is that, when I drag an object from the side bar, the DIV that I'm dragging appears behind the main area, thus it looks really bad. I took a screenshot of the problem: http://i.imgur.com/Xu4GM.png The div I'm dragging has this CSS: .reporte_arrastrado{ width: 150px; height: 60px; background-color: silver; background-image: url(chart.png); background-position: left center; background-repeat: no-repeat; padding: 10px 0 10px 26px; position:relative; } And, the one that represents the main area has this CSS: #tabs{ position:relative; } That's it... I've read some answers here, and people always suggest to set the position property to relative. But, it does not work for me. Thanks for reading.

  • Programatically Drop an External Div in JSTree

    I have a grid (slickgrid) which creates and destroys rows on the fly. I know jstree uses .jstree-draggable to find the external drag targets, but applying them to the grid rows doesn't work - such that I've thought of using the grid drag, and on finish of the grid drag I want to call the jstree "drag_finish": function (data) jQuery.jstree._reference($("#Tree")).dnd_finish(); The problem is that there is some null data. How would I Programatically Drop an External Div? How does jstree apply the .jstree-draggable targets? I could add the .jstree-draggable class to the grid drag helper, but it doesnt seem to fire when dropped on the tree although it clearly has the class. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.   • How to use xml response as XMLObject outside of ajax callback function

    Hopefully I've just made a dumb oversight, but I can't figure out why the following doesn't work: $(function() { var xml; $.get( "somexml.xml", function(data){ xml = data; }, "xml"); alert(xml); }); If I put the alert inside of the callback function, I get back object XMLdocument but if I place it outside of the ajax call, I get undefined. Since my goal is to have a new DOM to parse, I don't want the entire handling of the XMLdocument to be within the callback function. I've tried defining the variable outside of the entire onready function, inside at the top (like above) and inside the callback function, all with no luck. According to Specifying the Data Type for Ajax Requests in the jquery documentation, this should be possible.

    Hi guys, I would like to know if it is possible to re-size and re-position a greybox or shadowbox window to display in a certain div element? I am creating a template for a wordpress site, and I am using the default calendar, but when you click on a date inside of the calendar, the default action is to open it up in a new window. Would it be possible to mod greybox or shadowbox in such a way that when you click on a date, the box opens up over the calendar displaying the contents in it, instead of a new page? Or is there another way of achieving the desired result, maybe with jQuery or Javascript? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx in advance!

  • Selecting an item from a very large list

    Suppose I have a list of a couple of thousand organizations and a user needs to be able to select one of them. The list is too large to populate in a dropdown at page load, and the user often knows what they want but it's not the first part of the organization name. That is, they know "Collections" but not that the precise name of the organization is "Department of Collections". So the user will need/want to type in some information. It's easy enough to use an autocompleting textbox of some kind, but I don't want to allow the user to type in random text - they have to choose one of the organizations explicitly. What's the best solution?

  • WPF: Why all the love for the Grid control?

    Seen various examples of WPF applications I've seen the use of the Grid control for almost anything, even simplest things with only 1 column or row. Also, the WPF templates start with an empty grid. For me, using StackPanel or DockPanel is less verbose and are better for maintenance (think adding a row later and having to add +1 to all the other rows) Why is Grid better or what I am missing?

    I have a modal window that is pulled from the server and inserted into a container that is absolute positioned. When that window is triggered to open, it does not display properly, it positions itself inside the container and most of it is hidden. Is there a specific css to be written for the container of the modal window (MyModalWindow).     Hey, I need a regular expression to solve the following problem (links to similar problems is also appreciated, related tutorials etc.): __some_words_a_b___ => __some words a b___ ____ => ____ So I want underscores between words to be replaced with space and keep leading and trailing underscores. I found this: ^[ \t]+|[ \t]+$ and I guess it most be something like that. I will use it in jQuery, Java (stdlibs) and maybe XSLT. Addition: The sentences do not necessarily start with underscores or ends with underscores. It is also possible that a sentence ain't containing underscores at all. Best regards Lasse Espeholt

I'm writing an OpenGL based game, and the view is loaded from a nib file with ui controls, and it seems to work ok, but the game is really simple at this point... does using ui controls cause some kind of performance hit?

  • GRUB- error: no such partition grub rescue and Error: No default or UI configuration directive found boot > on pendrive

    I have dell inspiron, previously I installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my Windows 7 and made it dual boot. But since I want to upgrade my Ubuntu version and change the partition spacing, I deleted 11.10 partition directly and extended my hardrive space (Windows + Ubuntu) at that moment everything was fine. Then I prepared a 12.04 32bit USB and installed it . It was installed but isn't showing dual boot option like 11.10 and my machine directly boot into Windows 7. So instantly i again deleted my 12.04 partition . Now I login into Windows 7 but whenever I put USB ( with 12.04 ) to boot from it, I am facing error of "no such partition grub rescue" even though I try to put lower version(11.04) it showing another error "Error: No default or UI configuration directive found boot " I have reinstall Windows 7 and reformat all partition, still I am facing same error :(

    (programming Android in Eclipse) I am trying to set up a delay in changing the text in a button. I am getting errors only after there is a delay and the text needs to be changed. Here is the simplified code without a while loop: final Button button_target = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button_target); Thread textChange = new Thread(new Runnable() { public void run(){ button_target.setText("fog"); try{ Thread.sleep(3000); }catch(InterruptedException e){} } }); textChange.start(); And now here is the code where a change of text on the button is required after the sleep which now causes and error and exit (forced): final Button button_target = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button_target); Thread textChange = new Thread(new Runnable() { public void run(){ button_target.setText("cat"); try{ Thread.sleep(3000); }catch(InterruptedException e){} button_target.setText("dog"); } }); textChange.start(); what am I doing to cause the error? Is there another method that I should do to be able to invoke a sleep or delay to the thread so that a text change operation can be performed? (the actual code has a while loop but I believe this form puts the error in highlight)

    I have had issue today in one application where Geolocation is not working. Even on this page http://slaveryfootprint.org/survey/#where_do_you_live . When you enter a location , its showing null lattiude and longitude. Even though it search for autolocation, it can point the right location. and it happened all if a sudden today which was working fine since yestrday night and when I see in console it is returning null lat and long and null for city and I did not change the code at all.     Hi all, I try to explain my problem. I have a <div contenteditable="true" id="my_editeur>, where I have defined a keypress “event” which allow me to add a ‘p’ when the user clicks on “enter”. It functions well, but I would like define the cursor on this new ‘p’ element, because currently my cursor stays on the first 'p' element. I have tried to use jquery focus function but it seems that we can’t use this function for ‘p’ elements. Do you know how I can do to solve my problem? Thanks very much for your help.   • Safari's never-ending loading message when an iframe does not have a src

    I'm using @rem's jQuery :visited plugin to do something with visited links on a page. The plugin works by creating an invisible iframe, injecting the HTML source, and comparing the colour of links to see which have been visited. It works perfectly. The problem I have is that on Safari, the status bar message always hangs on "Loading (X-1) of X items" - i.e. it thinks there is still some resource still needing to be loaded. I've narrowed it down to this plugin, and the fact that it attaches the IFRAME element to the BODY before the src is set (or injected in this case). I've tried rearranging the code to set the src before the append happens, but that breaks the plugin's functionality. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue? It's not a major issue as the site still functions perfectly well, but it's an annoying glitch that could be confusing to users.
