In both cases, if I inspect element, I can see the "shadow" of the full picture, at the right size, with the right url. Image source doesnt' seem to make a difference, I'm getting no errors, and this is happening in both chrome and firefox. Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Rails 3: How do I call a javascript function from a js.erb file

    Now that I've upgraded to Rails 3, I'm trying to figure out the proper way to separate and reuse pieces of javascript. Here's the scenario I'm dealing with: I have a page with two areas: one with elements that should be draggable, the other with droppables. When the page loads I use jQuery to setup the draggables and droppables. Currently I have the script in the head portion of application.html.erb, which I'm sure is not the right solution but at least works. When I press a button on the page, an ajax call is made to my controller that replaces the draggables with a new set of elements that should also be draggable. I have a js.erb file that renders a partial in the correct location. After rendering I need to make the new elements draggable, so I'd like to reuse the code that currently lives in application.html.erb, but I haven't found the right way to do it. I can only make the new elements draggable by pasting the code directly into my js.erb file (yuck). What I'd like to have: - a javascript file that contains the functions prepdraggables() and prepdroppables() - a way to call either function from application.html.erb or from a js.erb file I've tried using :content_for to store and reuse the code, but can't seem to get it working correctly.     This is probably a very common question, but I was unable to find an answer myself; All my list elements call the function setQuery like this onClick="admin_stats.setQuery(this);" rather than [hardcode] add this to every list element, is there a way to simply have it run when a list element is clicked? I'm not very familiar with jQuery Live or binding/unbinding, but I think they would play a role here? Before I reinvent a rather square-looking wheel I thought I might ask =)

    This should be really simple but I'm a javascript/jQuery rookie, so here we go: With the following code I can select a certain element var user = $(".ui-selected .user-name").html(); But if there are multiple elements with the above classes, only the first value gets selected. What I would like to accomplish is a variable with all the elements seperated by a , like: user1,user2,user3 ... etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

    I've tried many jQuery twitter feed plugins and they all seem to suffer from the same problem. Nothing loads for unless I refresh several times and then it will load once. I then need to refresh several more times before it loads again. Is there some sort of limitation on Twitters side or does this only happen to me? Example - This is the test site but it is basically ready to go live except for this issue.

  • Supersized image captions - render outside of JavaScript

    I am using the jQuery supersized script for a full screen slideshow (not the WordPress plugin as this didn't give me enough control). However, one issue that I am trying to tackle is how to render the image caption text outside of the javascript slides[ ] call - and instead, render them within the page div - to improve SEO on the page. My code works fine right now, images and the caption text are correctly displaying, but looking at the source code, there is very little text outside of the javascript (which is bad for SEO), so I would just like to improve it, if possible.     I've looked around for a while, but there doesn't seem to be a simple way to do this. jQuery doesn't help the in least, it seems to entirely lack any support for selection or DOM ranges. Something which I hoped would be as simple as $.selection.filter('img') seems to only be doable with dozens of lines of code dealing with manually enumerating elements in ranges and browser implementation inconsistencies (though ierange helps here). Any other shortcuts?
