  Hi, all my projects and their versions are defined in a properties file like this: ProjectNameA=0.0.1 ProjectNameB=1.4.2 I'd like to iterate over all projects and use there names and versions in an ant script. Right now, I read the entire properties file in help of the property task. Then I iterate over a given list in a for loop like this: <for list="ProjectNameA,ProjectNameB" param="project"> <sequential> <echo message="@{project} has version ${@{project}}" /> </sequential> </for> How can I avoid the duplication of the project names in the for loop. So basically iterate over each line and extract the name and the version of a project. Thanks.

• Is the last digit of a phone number random?

  I have a telephony app which has a prompt which requires user choice. I made the app select one of 10 different phone prompts based on the last digit of the caller's phone number. Then I measure whether the user responds to the prompt (accept) or decides to skip to the next step (reject). I thought this would work well enough as a random selection, but I think I may be wrong. What I'm finding is that the exact same prompt has a dramatically different response rate (25% vs 35%) for two different last digits. Now I'm curious why this is. Does anyone know how phone numbers are assigned and why the last digit would be significant?

  Ive got some nested objects that I am trying to generate reports for. A BackupClient contains BackupVersions and BackupVersions contain BackupFiles. I passed in the list of BackupClients - and the report displays the client name, etc.... but to display the versions - It says I have to have a Binding Source for BackupVersions. If I pull all of the versions out of the clients and put them in a different BindingSource, then my data is no longer together - how is the report viewer going to list the versions for client X - if I just have a binding source with ALL clients versions in it?

  This one seems to be a simple problem, but I can't make it work in a single select or nested select. Retrieve the authors and (if any) advisers of a paper (article) into one row. I order to explain the problem, here are the two data tables (pseudo) papers (id, title, c_year) persons (id, firstname, lastname) plus a link table w/one extra attribute (pseudo): paper_person_roles( paper_id person_id act_role ENUM ('AUTHOR', 'ADVISER') ) This is basically a list of written papers (table: papers) and a list of staff and/or students (table: persons) An article my have (1,N) authors. An article may have (0,N) advisers. A person can be in 'AUTHOR' or 'ADVISER' role (but not at the same time). The application eventually puts out table rows containing the following entries: TH: || Paper_ID | Author(s) | Title | Adviser(s) | TD: || 21334 |John Doe, Jeff Tucker|Why the moon looks yellow|Brown, Rayleigh| ... My first approach was like: select/extract a full list of articles into the application, eg.SELECT q.id, q.title FROM papers AS q ORDER BY q.c_year and save the results of the query into an array (in the application). After this step, loop over the array of the returned information and retrieve authors and advisers (if any), via prepared statement (? is the paper's id) from the link table like:APPLICATION_LOOP(paper_ids in array) SELECT p.lastname, p.firstname, r.act_role FROM persons AS p, paper_person_roles AS r WHERE p.id=r.person_id AND r.paper_id = ? # The application does further processing from here (pseudo): foreach record from resulting records if record.act_role eq 'AUTHOR' then join to author_column if record.act_role eq 'ADVISER' then join to avdiser_column end print id, author_column, title, adviser_column APPLICATION_LOOP This works so far and gives the desired output. Would it make sense to put the computation back into the DB? I'm not very proficient in nontrivial SQL and can't find a solution with a single (combined or nested) select call. I tried sth. like SELECT q.title (CONCAT_WS(' ', (SELECT p.firstname, p.lastname AS aunames FROM persons AS p, paper_person_roles AS r WHERE q.id=r.paper_id AND r.act_role='AUTHOR') ) ) AS aulist FROM papers AS q, persons AS p, paper_person_roles AS r in several variations, but no luck ... • iPhone: How do I override the back button in a Navigation Controller?

  Hello, In my app I have a basic Navigation Controller. For all of my views, except one, the controller works as it should. However, for one view in particular, I would like the 'back' button to not go back to the previous view, but to go to one I set. In particular it is going to go back 2 views and skip over one. After doing some research I found that I can intercept the view when it disappears, so I tried to put in code to have it navigate to the page I would like: - (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillDisappear:animated]; //i set a flag to know that the back button was pressed if (viewPushed) { viewPushed = NO; } else { // Here, you know that back button was pressed mainMenu *mainViewController = [[mainMenu alloc] initWithNibName:@"mainMenu" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:mainViewController animated:YES]; [mainViewController release]; } } That didn't work, so does anyone have any ideas?   I have a batch file that was crashing when executing from windows explorer. I opened a command prompt and navigated to the file, but when I executed it there it did not crash. I identified the line that was crashing.   I know this question has be asked before generic comes out. Array does win out a bit given Array enforces the return type, it's more type-safe. But now, with latest JDK 7, every time when I design this type of APIs: public String[] getElements(String type) vs public List<String> getElements(String type) I am always struggling to think of some good reasons to return A Collection over An Array or another way around. What's the best practice when it comes to the case of choosing String[] or List as the API's return type? Or it's courses for horses. I don't have a special case in my mind, I am more looking for a generic pros/cons comparison.

  I am developing a Windows Phone app where users can update a list. Each update, delete, add etc need to be stored in a database that sits behind a web service. As well as ensuring all the operations made on the phone end up in the cloud, I need to make sure the app is really responsive and the user doesn’t feel any lag time whatsoever. What’s the best design to use here? Each check box change, each text box edit fires a new thread to contact the web service? Locally store a list of things that need to be updated then send to the server in batch every so often (what about the back button)? Am I missing another even easier implementation?   hy, i have a little, big problem here :) after i upload some images i get a list with all the images. I have some jQuery function for rotate, duplicate, delete, shuffle images! when i select a image and hit delete i send a post to php with the alt="" value of the image,i identify the picture and edit.   What happens if you call dispatcherOperation.Wait() on an operation that has already completed? Also, the docs say that it returns a DispatcherOperationStatus, but wouldn't that always be Completed since it (supposedly) doesn't return until it's done?   Hi, I have been implementing a class which class extends ArrayAdapter and implements Filterable. The filtering part (in the performFiltering method()) seems to go ok, it fills the FilterResults object just as expected. But then I think I'm not doing it right on how to publish the results, atm I have : protected void publishResults(CharSequence prefix, FilterResults results) { // NOTE: this function is *always* called from the UI thread. subItems = (Vector)results.values; notifyDataSetChanged(); } But this simply won't "populate" my List with the received data. So now my question is how do I populate my List with the received results ? Do I have to do that programmatically ?

I'm not able to get bookings all into the same datatype, which would make this easier and each booking type needs to be processed differently, so I'm not sure how I can improve this. Any ideas?
