  • None of my Win Forms buttons work

    I have a windows form which connects to a SQL Server though a dataset. The form was working fine since my last compile. All of a sudden, none of my buttons work! The data is loaded on the form, all the tabs work fine, drop down boxes work fine, but the buttons are literally unresponsive to any clicks. I added a test button and I get the same results. I can visually see the button getting clicked but no events. Any ideas?

  • Jquery/YUI - Find image and set CSS to display:none

    I have the following image in a CMS that I want to hide, I dont really want to change source code but would like to hide a specific image which does not have a class applied. Here is the HTML: <td class="right side"> <a title="Show only topic 1" href="view.php?id=3&topic=1"> <img alt="Show only topic 1" src="http://vl3.co.uk/iphone/pix/i/one.gif"/> </a> <br/> </td> I want to hide the <a> and the <img>, bare in mind the title and alt tag can be different so cant use that as an identifier. I presume I could use .find() and then use .parent() to set the <a> to display: none; thus hiding the img? Im inlcuding the jQuery library, however the CMS has YUI included out of the box so if anyone has a YUI method it would be appreicated.

    I have a django queryset in my views whose values I pack before passing to my template. There is a problem when the queryset returns none since associated values are not unpacked. the quersyet is called comments.     I have Sun Grid Engine set up (version 6.2u5) on a Ubuntu 10.10 server with 8 cores. In order to be able to reserve multiple slots, I have a parallel environment (PE) set up like this: pe_name serial slots 999 user_lists NONE xuser_lists NONE start_proc_args /bin/true stop_proc_args /bin/true allocation_rule $pe_slots control_slaves FALSE job_is_first_task TRUE urgency_slots min accounting_summary FALSE This is associated with the all.q on the server in question (let's call the server A).   • Ubuntu VM "read only file system" fix?

    I was going to install VMWare tools on an Ubuntu server Virtual Machine, but I ran into the issue of not being able to create a cdrom directory in the /mnt directory. I then tested to see if it was just a permissions issue, but I couldn't even create a folder in the home directory. It continues to state that it is a read only file system. I know a little about Linux, and I'm not comfortable with it yet. Any advice would be much appreciated.     Basically, I need a window to look like the following image: http://screenshots.thex9.net/2010-05-31_2132.png (Is NOT resizeable, yet retains the glass border) I've managed to get it working with Windows Forms, but I need to be using WPF.   • JW Player: cross-browser "display:none" player behavior

    Is there a simple, upfront method to have FF and IE treat hidden JW Players the same? I am placing different instances of the player dynamically in jQuery generated tabs. In effect, switching tabs hides the parent div of each player. In FireFox, the tab switch and accompanying "display" change stops the player. This doesn't happen in IE. I would like it to. What is the easiest way to have both browsers act the same? I am hoping for a CSS/HTML solution, either thorough the way the players are embedded or a style rule Otherwise I suppose I will need to add an item listener that compares the currently selected tab id to currently active players... but I'd rather not go that route. Thanks for your tips! EDIT: So, I'd rather be able to change the player CSS or markup on tab change than send stop events to all the players but the player in the currently active tab.

A lot of people also have a serious dislike for cvs. In many places I have heard a lot of differing opinions on whether or not using vss or cvs is better or worse then using no source control, please rate the worst and explain why!!!!! you rated them this way. Feel free to throw in your own horrible system in the rankings. If you feel it depends on the circumstances try to explain the some of the different scenarios which lead to different rankings. (note:I see a lot of discussion of what is better but little of what is worse.) second note: while both answers are nice I'm looking less for good replacements and more for a comparison of which is worse and more importantly why!!!!!

  • Slow (to none) performance on SQL 2005 after attaching SQL 2000 database

    Issue: Using the detach/attach SQL database from a SQL 2000 SP4 instance to a much beefier SQL 2005 SP2 server. Run reindex, reorganize and update statistics a couple of times, but without any success. Queries on SQL 2000 took about 1-2 sec. to complete, now the same queries take 2-3 min on the SQL 2005 (and even 2008 - tested it there also). Have looked at the execution plans and the overall percent matches or are alike on each server.

    Found a strange thing. The following code is supposed to set a default value for a UI element based on whether one of a group of checkboxes (all having attribute name="privacy") is checked (in say, a form postback). If there is no value in the HTML sent by the server (the form is not a postback), the default value should be firstMenuItemKey. Otherwise, it should be the one checked in the underlying HTML. A lot of people also have a serious dislike for cvs. In many places I have heard a lot of differing opinions on whether or not using VSS or cvs is better or worse then using no source control, please rate the worst and explain why!!!!! you rated them this way. Feel free to throw in your own horrible system in the rankings. If you feel it depends on the circumstances try to explain the some of the different scenarios which lead to different rankings. (note:I see a lot of discussion of what is better but little of what is worse.) second note: while both answers are nice I'm looking less for good replacements and more for a comparison of which is worse and more importantly why!

I am very confused why it thinks SiteTypeInstallation has a composite key at all when @Id is clearly defining a simple key, and doubly confused why it picks exactly just those two columns. Any idea why this happens? Is it possible that JBoss (5.0 EAP) + Hibernate somehow remembers a mistaken idea of the primary key across server restarts and code redeployments?   • Javascript Mp3 Player, NONE FLASH

    I currently have a simple flash Mp3 player on my site which works lovely. The issue is, most cell phones do not support flash and a large portion of my visitors come through via a mobile device. The alternative to this is to replace the flash player with a javascript player. I found a JQuery one but it only works on HTML5 compatible browsers. Does anyone know of a good alternative that would work on mobile devices as well as most desktop web browsers?

    There is 20px margin/padding below the catmenuconatiner (second navigation bar). The comment boxes have 15px margin between them.   • Can't unwrap Optional.None tableviewcell

    I've a table view that has a custom table view cell in it. My problem is that when i try and assign a value to a variable in the custom table view cell I get the stated error. Now, I think its because the said variable is not initialised, but its got me completely stumped.   • Scroll returns to default after display:none in Chrome/IE

    Here's the example: http://jsfiddle.net/sammy/RubNy/ Scroll down in the div container. Then click anywhere in the window to hide the element. Then click once more to show the element. You'll notice in Chrome/IE that the scroll is reset, but in Firefox, the scroll remains how you left it. Which is the standards behavior, Chrome/IE or Firefox? When the user submits these pages, an XML file with private information is sent to the webservice. How can I provide the necessary privacy protection on the XML file? Is the one certificate good enough to give the appropriate security? I'm not sure about this one, and am in the preparation phase of a project... So need to know the involved work on this part...

  • tmux: create session if none exists

    I'm switching from using gnu-screen to tmux, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around changes. One thing I'd like to be able to do is start tmux and have it automatically connect to a session if one exists, and otherwise create a new session. tmux attach attaches to an automatically existing session - but errors out if no session exists tmux new creates a new session - but it does so every time, so I can't leave it in my .tmux.conf tmux has-session tests whether a session exists - but I don't know how to stitch it together with the other commands Can anyone give me some configure file advice?
