  • Place JComponent On The Top Of JXLayer

    Hello, currently, I had successful applying JXLayer on my charting component, to draw a yellow information box on the top of it. final org.jdesktop.jxlayer.JXLayer<ChartPanel> layer = new org.jdesktop.jxlayer.JXLayer<ChartPanel>(this.chartPanel); this.chartLayerUI = new ChartLayerUI<ChartPanel>(this); layer.setUI(this.chartLayerUI); At the same time, I wish to add the following JComponent (DefaultDrawingView) on the top of JXLayer. This JComponent has the ability 1) To receive mouse event to draw figures on itself. Within ChartLayerUI, I add the following code @Override @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public void installUI(JComponent c) { super.installUI(c); JXLayer<JComponent> l = (JXLayer<JComponent>) c; l.getGlassPane().setLayout(new java.awt.BorderLayout()); // this.view is DefaultDrawingView drawing object. l.getGlassPane().add(this.view, java.awt.BorderLayout.CENTER); } However, after having the above code, I get the following outcome 1) My charting component ChartPanel are being blocked by DefaultDrawingView 2) My charting component no longer able to receive mouse event. What I wish is that A) ChartPanel and DefaultDrawingView able to show up B) ChartPanel and DefaultDrawingView able to receive mouse event Is there other steps I had missed out, or did wrong? Thanks.

  • Binding update on adds news series to WPF Toolkit chart (instead of replacing/updating series)

    I'm currently recoding a bar chart in my app to make use of the Chart class in the WPF Toolkit. Using MVVM, I'm binding the ItemsSource of a ColumnSeries in my chart to a property on my viewmodel. Here's the relevant XAML: <charting:Chart> <charting:ColumnSeries ItemsSource="{Binding ScoreDistribution.ClassScores}" IndependentValuePath="ClassName" DependentValuePath="Score"/> </charting:Chart> And the property on the viewmodel: // NB: viewmodel derived from Josh Smith's BindableObject public class ExamResultsViewModel : BindableObject { // ... private ScoreDistributionByClass _scoreDistribution; public ScoreDistributionByClass ScoreDistribution { get { return _scoreDistribution; } set { if (_scoreDistribution == value) { return; } _scoreDistribution = value; RaisePropertyChanged(() => ScoreDistribution); } } However, when I update the ScoreDistribution property (by setting it to a new ScoreDistribution object), the chart gets an additional series (based on the new ScoreDistribution) as well as keeping the original series (based on the previous ScoreDistribution). To illustrate this, here are a couple of screenshots showing the chart before an update (with a single data point in ScoreDistribution.ClassScores) and after it (now with 3 data points in ScoreDistribution.ClassScores): Now, I realise there are other ways I could be doing this (e.g. changing the contents of the original ScoreDistribution object rather than replacing it entirely), but I don't understand why it's going wrong in its current form. Can anyone help?

  • "Initializing - Busy - Stopping" LOOP issue in Azure deployement

    Hi folks, I am trying to deploy an azure cloud application on Windows Azure. Application specifications are -- It has one WebRole - ASP.Net MVC Application (ASP.Net charting control is used in this MVC application) It does not contain any worker role. Third party references are set with property "copy Local" to "true"(MVC,ASP Charting control & ASP Provider DLLs) There is no DiagnosticsConnectionString in service configuration file It uses ASP provider for session state management. This application runs successfully on local dev fabric but when I try to deploy it on Windows Azure it gets stuck in a loop with status being changed between Initializing, Busy, Stopping states. It never goes into READY state. It seems that there are no ERROR logs for conveying the deployment issues to user. So is there any way to diagnose deployment issues ? Is there any way to get deployment ERROR logs ? Any kind of help will be appreciated. Thanks, Kushal

      I just finished up a new course for Pluralsight titled HTML5 Canvas Fundamentals that I had a blast putting together. It’s all about the client and involves a lot of pixel manipulation and graphics creation which is challenging and fun at the same time.   • Working the Chart Percentages

    Charting in BIP is such fun, well sometimes it is. Not so much today, at least not for Ron in San Diego. He needed a horizontal bar chart showing values plotted for various test areas with value labels at the end of the bars. Simple enough right? The wrinkle, they were percentage values so he needed to see '56%' not '56'! Still, it should be simple enough but the percentage formatting has a requirement for your values to be in a decimal format i.e. 0.56 not 56.0. 56.0 gets formatted as 5600%. OK, so either pull the values out as decimals or use the div function to divide the values in the chart by 100 e.g. <xsl:value-of select="myval div 100)" /> Now I can use the following the chart XML to format the percentages as I need them:   <Graph ... > ... <MarkerText visible="true"> <Y1ViewFormat> <ViewFormat numberType="NUMTYPE_PERCENT" decimalDigit="0" numberTypeUsed="true" leadingZeroUsed="true" decimalDigitUsed="true"/> </Y1ViewFormat> </MarkerText> ... </Graph>   That gets me the values shown the way I want but the auto axis formatting gets me from 0 >> 1. I now need to go in and add the formatting for the axis too.   <Graph ...> ... <Y1Axis axisMinAutoScaled="false" axisMinValue="0.0" axisMaxAutoScaled="false" axisMaxValue="1.0" majorTickStepAutomatic="true"> <ViewFormat numberType="NUMTYPE_PERCENT" decimalDigit="0" scaleFactor="SCALEFACTOR_NONE" numberTypeUsed="true" leadingZeroUsed="true" decimalDigitUsed="true" scaleFactorUsed="true"/> </Y1Axis>   Now I have a chart that's showing the percentage values and formatting axis scale correctly for me too. You can of course mess with the attributes above to get more decimal points on your labels, etc. Happy Charting!

  • ASP.NET Chart Control errors in Event Viewer

    Hi, I have been using the ASP.NET chart controls for a while on win2k3 (32bit) setups without any issue but have noticed that on our new win2k8 (64bit) box I am getting a warning message showing up in the event viewer from the chart control. In my web.config file I have the following tag telling the Chart Control where I can store the Temp Files: <add key="ChartImageHandler" value="storage=file;timeout=20;dir=c:\TempImageFiles\;" /> Below is the warning message produced by the control: Event code: 3005 Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred.     I have a content and i want to search a keyword in that content. Content When charting multiple data series, or just to improve the appearance of your charts, you can control the fill for each series in the chart or each item in a series. The fill lets you specify a pattern that defines how Flex draws the chart element. You also use fills to specify the background colors of the chart or bands of background colors defined by the grid lines. Fills can be solid or can use linear and radial gradients. A gradient specifies a gradual color transition in the fill color therefore. NOw, if the keyword we are searching is "When", it is the starting word so should display as "When charting multiple data ..........." If the keyword is "draws" , it lies in middle so should be displayed as ".... how Flex draws....." If the kewyword is "therefore", it is in the last position so should be displayed as ".........transition in the fill color therefore." Can anyone help me out how to do this in php server script?

    I am after something like Visio or Lucid. A relatively simple charting/diagramming tool, to build tree-like structures from (my) pre-defined nodes (squares), but with a powerful API. Requirements: limit the type of objects allowed to be dropped on the diagram validate a model (e.g. node of type A must precede node of type B; must enter node Title) export a model import a model Our domain is very specific, and its a tool we'd want to offer to some of our power users. The $500 Visio licence isn't really within the business model. I'll put no constraints on framework or deployment (web or desktop) - is there anything out there?
