  Hi, I have a table with an JobID (PK), EmployeeID (FK), StartDate, EndDate containing data such as: 1, 10, '01-Jan-2010 08:00:00', '01-Jan-2010 08:30:00' 2, 10, '01-Jan-2010 08:50:00', '01-Jan-2010 09:05:00' 3, 10, '02-Feb-2010 10:00:00', '02-Feb-2010 10:30:00' I want to return a record for each EndDate for a Job and then the same employees StartDate for his next immediate job (by date time). So from the data above the result would be Result 1: 10, 01-Jan-2010 08:30:00, 01-Jan-2010 08:50:00 Result 2: 10, 01-Jan-2010 09:05:00, 02-Feb-2010 10:00:00 Greatly appreciate any help!

• Combining search button on google map and search API

  Basically, i have the google api search engine which will send back addresses based on the search by the user; And a map api which will go over to the selected place typed in the textbox. However, both of them are in different textboxes / buttons. i can't seem to be able to change the ids of the button to make ONE of the buttons function as two ways, which your able to get the address, and the map will move to the selected location.

• Browser performance when combining image resizing with animated movement

  I have been tasked with the job of converting a Flash animation into HTML. The animation is rather complex and requires the need to move multiple images (9) from location (x,y) to location (x2,y2) while simultaneously increasing the image size from 215px wide to 930px wide. While doing some initial testing of this animation with just 1-2 images, I noticed a lot of choppiness in FF handling of this animation. To try and isolate the problem, I removed the dynamic resizing of the animation and just moved it from point A to point B. What was interesting was that I saw the same behavior when simply moving a 930px image that was resized down to 215px (via the CSS width or inline width properties). When I try the same animation with a different image that is actually 215px wide, it performed smoothly. I then tried the same animation with the original 930px wide image (with no resizing) and it performed well also. This makes me wonder if the browser is having to "resize" the image down to 215px each time it is moved which is causing the choppiness. Is this a correct assumption? If so, is there any other way to optimize the animation to allow for simultaneous image resizing and image movement? Notes: 1) One optimization I have done is to position the images absolutely in order to minimize the reflow process. 2) I have tested the animation using both jQuery and the fX animation framework.

  I'm using the regroup template tag to group queryset output on a Choices field. In the model: RESOURCE_TYPES = ( ('tut','External tutorial'), ('read','Additional reading'), ('org','Company or organization'), ) restype = models.CharField('Resource type',max_length=6,choices=RESOURCE_TYPES) in the view: resources = Resource.objects.filter(tutorial=tutorial) in the template: {% regroup resources by restype as resource_list %} {% for type in resource_list %} <h3>{{type.grouper}}</h3> So type.grouper renders as 'tut' or 'org' on the page, rather than the long form. Normally you would use the get_foo_display syntax to get at the value of the choice, rather than the key. But the value doesn't seem to be available after going through regroup. There's no way I can find to use get_foo_display on {{type.grouper}}. It makes sense when you think about it, but what's the workaround? Thanks.

  Hey, could you please share your way of unit testing in eclipse ? Are you using surefire plugin, m2eclipse & maven, or only testNG eclipse plugin ? Do you combine these alternatives ? I'm using testNG + maven surefire-plugin and I had been using the testNG eclipse plugin a year ago so that I could see the results in testNG view. Then I started using Maven, but when I do "maven test phase" using m2eclipse, there is only console output and surefire reports that I can check in browser and to choose what test suite, test, or test method can be set up only via testng.xml. On the other hand, if you use only surefire plugin and you have some specific settings regarding classpath etc., that you rely on, then running tests via testNG eclipse plugin doesn't have to be compatible with your code. Using surefire plugin, the classpath is different - target/test-classes and target/classes - than using testNG plugin, that is using the project classpath. How do you go about what I was just talking about? Is it possible to synchronize "maven test" using m2eclipse and surefire plugin WITH testNG eclipse plugin and view ? EDITED: I'm also wondering, why the Maven project ("Java build path") output folder is target/classes for src/main and src/test whereas surefire plugin makes two locations target/test-classes and target/classes Thank you very much for your your opinions.

  I am experimenting with finding popular keywords using curl, php and regular expressions. I have an array of non-specific nouns that I am matching my keyword search up. So I am looking for words like "the", "and", "that" etc. and taking them out of the keyword search. so I have an array of words like so: $wordArr = [the, and, at,....]; and then running something like: && preg_match('(\bmyword\w*\b)', $key) == false how do I combine these two so it loops through the array finding out if any of the words in the array match the regular expression? I guess I could just do a for loop, but though maybe I could use in_array($wordArr, $key).. or something like that.

Because i'm working on a program that i'd like to extend to a database, but i sure as hell don't know how!   To make my extranet web application even faster/more scalable I think of using some of the caching mechanisms. For some of the pages we'll use HTML caching, please ignore that technique for this question. E.g.: at some point in time 2500 managers will simultaneously login on our application (most of them with the same Account/Project) I think of storing an Account-cachekey and Project-cachekey into the user's Session and use that to get the item from the Cache. I could have simply stored the Account into the session, but that would result in 2500 of the same Accounts in memory. Is there a better solution to this or does it make sense :)?

  Hello, I am writing an ASP.NET MVC application that combines a set of features from existing applications. The new application is suppose to use UI features and logic created (especially for this purpose) in the existing applications. For that reason I wanted to create in the existing applications some kind of a "blackbox" that I will be able to drop in my new application along with a matching connection string, and it will work independently, binding data on it's own. I thought about using partial views, but I am having trouble with passing the model data to it, since the controller of the new application should not know about the model of the existing applications. I can not use ASP.NET WebForms, since my application should be a "postback-less" application, and ASP.NET AJAX toolkit or frameworks alike are out of the question.   I'm writing a web app, initially meant to be stand-alone--it's essentially a survey with user-management/authentication built on Codeigniter. The company I'm doing this for wants to merge it with their main system so that it acts like a feature, or a sub-app of their website. What is the best thing for me to do? I think I could do one of two things: Finish my application, as I had planned to initially, and let them handle the merging.It would probably save me a headache. Stop where I am in development, and migrate my authentication system to theirs, migrate the payment system to use theirs, and then finish the app. In your opinion, or experience, what is the best thing to do?

  I have 3 json arrays, each with information listed in the same format: Array: ID: NAME: DATA: ID: NAME: DATA: etc... My goal is to combine all 3 arrays into one array, and sort and display by NAME by passing the 3 arrays into a function. I've also tried using the array.concat function which works when I hard code it: var names = []; var allNames = []; var names = names.concat(json[0]['DATA']['array_1'],json[0]['DATA']['array_2']); for (i=0;i<names.length;i++) { allNames.push(names[i]['NAME']); } return allNames.sort(); But I can't figure out how to pass in the arrays into the function (and if possible I would like to just pass in the array name part instead of the whole json[0]['DATA']['array_name'] like I was trying to do in the first function...

• Combining 2 PHP frameworks that both implement __() internationalization function

  Never had a question I couldn't google until now, and it may be a doozy: I have a PHP site that combines Wordpress with Kohana - Wordpress for the blog, and Kohana for the custom functionality. This is done using a Wordpress plugin that stitches them together. This works great except they both define a __() internationalization function, with different arguments etc. so once wordpress has overridden kohana's __(), if kohana calls __() it explodes. I'm not that familiar with PHP so this might be naive, but shouldn't this stuff be namespaced? Is there anyway other than changing the source of one or the other framework to allow them to call their own respective __()?
